Hotel Lilienhof - Salzburg

Pleasant accommodations, wonderful staff. Satisfactory European breakfast. Bus connections not bad: 2 buses (easy transfer) to get from Hbf (train station), 1 bus ride from Lilienhof (on either of two routes) direct to Altstadt (old city) for sightseeing. My wife and I stayed four nights. We recommend Lilienhof enthusiastically.

The surroundings to the hotel are not the greatest, in an urban, high rise district a little out of town, which can be a little noisy during the day. That said access into Salzburg is very easy via 2 bus services from virtually outside the hotel door which costs approx €8 for a family of four. A taxi costs little more (€11 from the railway station to the hotel so expect about the same to get to town). The room we had was a family room, plenty big enough, on the second floor (no lift so lugging cases upstairs was a bit of a pain). The Oriental restaurant built into the hotel is ok, we had lunch there after arriving, nice food, reasonable prices. We picked the hotel because city centre hotels are very expensive, plus we were 5 mins from the airport for the next morning, so no early start was needed. All in all, ok for a 1 night stop, but wouldn't stay or any longer.

The hotel was fine but a little overpriced and thin-walled.

Nice little hotel. Location is off the city center but served by two bus lines with stops a few steps away from the hotel. Easily reached by taxi (around 10 min ride, 12Euros). We stayed in quadruple room (the only room left at the time of booking) for 3 person. The room was an attic, though it was nice and we did not mind. The lady staffs were very helpful and friendly. She helped us find the right tours (in terms of itinerary, schedule and price) and booked the tours for us so we just waited in the hotel and a car picked us up. I lost my spectacles when changing to my sunglasses somewhere during the tour while unsure where and when exactly that happened. The lady staff on duty in the next day helped me to phone the tour operator and explained the case, and bingo, they found my spectacles and I got it back by picking it up at the tour gathering point at Mirabellplaatz on my way to the central station. Thanks a lot.

Easy location to visit Salsburg. We got the family room which was spacious and perfectly clean. The fantastic breakfast served in a nice room by the helpful staff. Perfect relationship price/quality. Last but not least,exceptional hospitality. The place we will stay again if in Salsburg.

L'hotel è carino, pulito ed accogliente. Le camere sono grandi. L'unica cosa è che è fuori città e ci si deve muovere per forza con l macchina.

Excellent location when you have a car and a family to visit Salzburg. The bus stop is located 20m away from the hotel, and you will have one every 20mn: convenient and cheaper than downtown. Good breakfast, avec un excellent français parlé à la réception. Buy the Salzburg card when you stay a few days: much cheaper too.

Far from downtown price is a little high

Just a 10 minute bus trip from town to arrive at this beautiful little hotel, with personal service from the hosts, good size rooms with balcony. Great value for money in what could be an expensive city to stay in.

There is an Asian food restaurant at this hotel which a local told us is excellent - apparently people travel from far away to eat there !

Excellent hospitality

Very far from Downtown Salzburg, but that was not the problem. The Hostal or Pensione (it is certainly not a Hotel), has no air-condioning...and no fans. It was so hot, rooms with spider webs and spiders, the receptionists and the owner..Mdme. Lilienhof, were unavailable after 7pm. You had to phone the owner to her house....Unbeliable....!

Room was just over a chinese restaurant, egg rolls odors and noisy! The room was oK. Thank you Julie Caron

Lontano dal centro anche se servito bene dai mezzi pubblici, 15 min. di bus per il centro. colazione non eccezionale, ma buona. ambiente tipico ed accogliente, arredamento non moderno ma funzionale con ampi spazi.

Asian restaurant on site an added bonus.

A lovely little place to stay in Salzburg, great views of the Alps from our room. Bus stop for the city right outside the hotel, so access is not difficult. Very clean room and linen. The three of us didn't feel squeezed in our triple room. Excellent breakfast spread, great way to start a day of walking in Salzburg. Highly recommended against more expensive options in city centre.

An absolutely fabulous hotel for a family. the room we stayed in had accomodations for 6 and my family was extremely comfortable. the chinese restaurant colocated with hotel is phenomenal. this hotel made our stay in Salzburg a joy even with 4 children.

We will stay again in this hotel in the future. The atmosphere is warm and friendly.

The hotel is a short bus trip to the center of Salzburg, but they also sell the Salzburg card at the hotel which gets you on all of the busses and into all the sites for no additional costs. Everyone was extrememly friendly and helpful. The breakfast is also fantastic!

WE were very pleased with our choice.We were very pleased to find an on site Asian restaurant where we had a Chinese meal which saved going in to town late in the evening. We have recommended Lilienhof to other users of HPB properties coming via Salzburg.

Very nice and clean room and welcoming personnel. Location is practical for departing to airport.

We stayed at the Lilienhof and had a very pleasant stay. If ever in Salzburg again, we would definately stay there again. The rooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water for a nice long shower. The staff were friendly and helpful and went beyond. There was a breakfast that was included with our stay and we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the eating area was and how clean it was. They couldn't do enough for you there. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Lilienhof is one of those 'basic, clean, no surprises' hotel. A good option if you are not really looking for a cosy B&B located in the heart of Salzburg. And it is located very conveniently for the airport. The food in the restaurant (Asian / Chinese) was quite decent and the service overall was good.
