A lovely place with great service and excellent location.

Fully worth for the money spent and specially for a traveler (or a couple) who just need to have a nice nap in the night and start travelling again and return back after a hectic days :)

The pension was within walking distance to the main train station, and a 10-15 min walk to the major sights of Salzburg. The hostess was very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, and the breakfast was fine. There is no elevator, so keep that in mind if you have heavy luggage. Some rooms do not have a private bathroom as well.

The Twin room we stayed in was small, and poorly renovated. The noise from the train station is loud, and can keep you up at night. Customer service is bad, you need to ask the owners of the bar next door if you need anything, since the owner of Lechner hotel is nowhere to be found most of the time.

The only quibble was although they knew I was due to arrive at 2000 there was no-one there, paricularly as the Gaststatte next door wasn't open on a Sunday night. After a wait of about 20 minutes the Inhaber arrived and all was well. Absolutely no problems after that and a perfect base for a week in Salzburg.

As to the present Euro-high market, E50 stay hotel is valuable, especially for us Japanese tourists. Restaurant they manage is open till 4A.M. It's quite convenient.

Unpretentious but clean and comfortable.Proximity to railway line a drawback regards noise.

A lovely little family-run pension, well located with comfortable rooms.

good: very friendly staff, very clean, quite good price/quality, nice old furniture, location near train station, not too far to the "Altstadt" not so good: quite loud rooms (old windows), very small bathroom, very small parking area (however, enough public parking area near the hotel)

Entrance to hotel decidedly depressing. Carpet on stairs dirty. Car parking very poor. Saw only one girl receptionist/waitress who was very pleasant.

The single room I stayed in was small. The noise from the train station is quite disturbing, and can keep you up at night. Customer service is bad, you need to ask the owners of the bar next door if you need anything, since the owner of Lechner hotel is nowhere to be found most of the time. One night, the owners were having a party in the lobby of the hotel, keeping the guests up with the noise until past midnight. If you are looking for a pleasant stay in Salzbourg, I do not recommend the hotel unless your budget is really tight!

Ci siamo trovati davvero bene!Ve lo consigliamo.

Fairly average for the price. Breakfast was fairly ordinary - the first morning they seemed to be running low on most things (eg 4 slices of bread), and we were the first there! Plus the fruit salad was off (that lovely zingy taste...). No hot food either. Service could have been better. The water from the shower was draining so slowly it was overflowing onto the bathroom floor, but despite asking the owner and then leaving a note for the maid nothing was done. I had to ask twice for extra pillows too. Location is good though, and the restaurant next door was a highlight of our stay in Salzburg, a mom and pop operation where we were treated like locals the second time we went in.

Excellent position near the center, easily reachable by foot. Good breakfast and kind host but lack of sufficient hot water and room heating during the day.

Old private hotel with rustic charm. Large rooms, comfortable beds. Some noise from the train station. Good breakfast included in the price. Staff helpful in getting taxi.

A very enjoyable stay overall. Clean room, good breakfast, close to station and Salzburg attractions. Good price too...although we did not have a pleasant welcome to Salzburg copping some racist jibes on the way to the Pension.

We enjoyed our stay at Pension Lechner very much. The room was very pretty & comfortable. The breakfast was excellent & it was very handy having the restaurant next door. When we compared prices & quality with other restaurants in Salzburg, we were very impressed. We would both stay again at the pension/hotel.

Hotel close to all amenities, train station and old town. Room not at all like picture although clean and OK if you are not planning to spend much time in it i.e. just sleeping and washing. Breakfast good staff helpful and friendly. Overall got what paid for cheap clean room for sightseeing and a beautiful city. Would stay there again.

We were quite comfortable. The breakfast buffet was rather limited. But we enjoyed our visit to Salzburg and Hotel Lechner. We have not requested a newsletter, because our ability to return to Europe--though we had a great time--is doubtful.

My biggest complaint is that on our second night staying at this hotel, we awoke to find that there was no hot water. Apparently, the entire hotel did not have hot water, I believe because the day-time front desk clerk forgot to "turn it on". Which begs the question, why exactly was the hot water off? If we are paying for a room, aren't we supposed to be able to shower at any time with hot water? We woke up at about 7:30 a.m. and found that there was no water, and that there would be no hot water for quite a while until it all was heated. This meant that we needed to shuffle our schedule around quite a bit. As well, our room was facing the street and was VERY loud with the window open (something that you must do at night in July). The front desk woman was surly and seemed genuinely annoyed anytime we needed to ask her about anything. It was not a completely negative experience (the rooms are newly renovated, clean, and well decorated; the location was good; the price was ok) but I would not recommend this place to anyone that I know.

Average place. The location is excellent. The restaurant next door is surprisingly good (avoid the LP recommendation across the street!). The double rooms are much nicer than the single. More like an old hotel than a pension.

Two double rooms were booked. I would have preferred to rate them separately, as one was very good and the other one poor. One was spacious and quiet, whilst the other was very small and the noise from outside was very loud. Breakfast was very good.

Location to the train station and eating/shopping areas was pretty good. A taxi from the airport cost about 15 Euros. The staff were competent and helpful, if not forthcoming. The room size (single) was what one would expect and had most of the conveniences expected. Lack of a hairdryer and satellite TV channels would be an inconvenience if one's stay was lengthy. Great little bar/restaurant next door which served cheap and hearty meals, with friendly staff. Breakfast at the Lechner was nice and served by friendly staff. Only negative point would be that the Reception shut early - 6pm - which was an inconvenience when my flight was delayed, then diverted. My arrival was really late and there were no signs in english to say what to do. Luckily the restaurant next door knew I was expected and helped me out, but this could have turned into problem if I had been any later. However, I would stay here again.

What a superb accommodation for the price. Well situated to all the local sights, Christmas markets etc. all within walking distance. Excellent choice for breakfast and always replenished if low. Rooms although 'tired' decoration wise were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Overall an excellent choice ! We will return in the summer.

The location was great for getting around on buses. It was also a nice walking area. The parking was very important to us, thought it was a tight fit.

Huge rooms with double glazing to keep out traffic noise. Great breakfast somewhat spoilt by smoking allowed in dining area. Good location a short walk from Mirabel Gardens and a little further into the Old Town. Staff helpful with tours and local advice. On site parking a real bonus.
