A downside was the double bed, which had (separate) rather cheap and soft mattresses that are not affixed to the bed. Not so convenient for couples in love. Apart from that it was ok.

The lonly good thing about this hotel was the location. We could walk from the train station to it and also from the hotel to the city center. However, it was very hot the night we arrived in the room and there was not air conditioning. The bathroom was tiny and you had to stand sideways to get to the shower.

Good hotel at low price, breakfast is good enough. I suggest to take advantage of the cooperation between the hotel and the very near garage (it should be 10 or 12 euro per 24 hours) because there is no way to find a free parking around. The historical center is quite close, anyway Salzburg is not so big. The hotel is quite close to Linzerstrasse, where you can find nice restaurants for dinner.

Good hotel in strategic position both as regards the train station and the historical center of Salzburg (at a walking distance). The single room (and bathroom) is very little but quite well furnished and noiseless, except for the bathroom fan. Unfortunetely the room has a bad smell of smoke, since only recently they've forbidden people to smoke indoor. The minibar is well-provided. Strengh points are: the price included international breakfast (a lot of choice of quality food, both sweet and savory) and the internet wireless access (directly in the room if you have a laptop or down near the reception at the internet point). The staff is very helpful and competent (they speak in English and someone of them also in Italian). Even taking into account some weak points in the room, definitely I recommend Lasserhof if you want a good price for value hotel, with some included additional services.

Good proximity to train station and nice walk (10 minutes) to Old Town area. Not much around the hotel itself, but we didn't mind. My only complaint is that the toilet in Room 12 smelled like a public toilet. It was separate from the sink and shower so we could at least close it off. Otherwise a great place to save without much compromise in Salzburg. Breakfast was included as well, which was nice.

Very good location, spacious room, good breakfast. As we entered the room, we had 4 lamp buls in need of replacement, so maintenance should improve. The shower compartment is unnecessarily small, making it difficult and unconfortable. Still, overall a hotel we recommend.

It was January 09. We had a bit of trouble finding it. It's about a seven blocks walk from the bus stop and it had snowed, but when we found it, it was lovely. It's in a residential area, so very quiet and warm. The breakfast was nice....Germans can smoke inside, so most of the public spots were smokey. We just aren't used to that and don't smoke ourselves. Everything else was nice. Not walking distance to everything.

A great location an easy, level walk from the station, and also from the Old Town. Breakfast was well catered. Only problem was that my room was next to the stairs, and facing the street. There was a lot of coming and going and people talking in the stairwell.

Stayed for 2 nights; was a good place to stay at for the short time; visited the Salzburg Festival with my 70 year old mother; first impression of the hotel bad (no lobby, dark entrance, not appealing interior) but the rooms were o.k. and the staff friendly and helpful; the whole stay was much better than the first impression! positive: free internet access, well equipped and clean bathroom.

Confusions, confusion and confusion. I had booked the property through you, but when i reached the hotel they informed me that my booking is cancelled...strange....On request, i was provided a two bed room...whereas my booking was for 3 bed room. The room was ok, but when the third bed was added, it hardly had space. The person who welcomed us was too good. He did provide all that he could do from his side. Internet was FREE that indeed is a surprise element.

Triple room very spacious. Only complaint was that the skylights didn't open so couldn't get a breeze into the room. Room got very warm (weather was hot and humid), but staff brought fans up. Great breakfast and nice staff! Hotel within a 10 minute walk to Mirabell and 15 minute walk to Old Town.

Although it was a bit on the quiet side of town and a bit far from the town center, it's pretty decent and well equipped! Especially when I do need wireless...it's provided FOC. Overall good value for the money. The location was suitable for me (near the train station, and within 15 minutes walking to the old part of the city). When I arrived just after 1pm I was disappointed that my room was not yet ready, but they did allow me to leave my luggage and return later to check in. The bathroom with the toilet was very small, and had a minor foul odor, despite the fan being on all the time, but luckily the smell was contained within the bathroom. One of the shower doors was off its hinges, but I could work around that. The breakfast was good. There was enough variety to satisfy everyone.

This is an older style hotel so if you are looking for modern holiday inn type its not for you. It has character and some charm. The staff were friendly and helpful. The extractor fan in our room sounded like an airplane, very loud, it was better to use the toilet with the light off! It is located about a 15 minute walk from the old town, not too bad. The radiator worked well and warmed the room, which was good as it snowed continuously during our stay.

A five minute stroll from the train station this hotel is ideal for a weekend stay. With free WIFI through out and an ample breakfast, what makes this hotel stand out is that you can keep your room till 12pm and breakfast is also served till 12. It's a 15 minute stroll into the old town or a 5 minute bus ride.

Overall our stay at the hotel was considered to be good value for money. The variety and quality of the breakfast (included in the price) was very good. The location to the main railway station was considered reasonable, a 10 to 15 minute walk with luggage. The ensuite with separate toilet was acceptable, however its shower unit was somewhat confining.

I wonder why Lasserhof is rated with 4 stars! The hotel is well located, the city of Salzburg is near. But rooms are dull and noisy. Room installations are mostly old. Overall the hotel is "o.k.", but it's 3 stars quality - at the lower end of the range.

The service is very bad. The hotel charged me twice for a single night. I paid cash but due to their mistake they also charge me again the cost of the night to my credit card. I kindly requested them to rescind the double charge but they disregarded my request and behaved opportunisticly and dishonestly. I do not recommned anyone to vist this hotel because of the bad service. Also take into account that the hotel is quite far from the city downtown and because the price/quality ratio is well below standards

Our first visit to Salzburg. The hotel staff were obliging, positive and thorough. Nice people to deal with. The breakfasts were excellent. For my wife and I the hotel provided B & B accommodation near the centre of the City, at a reasonable cost, afforded us free internet access, allowed us to leave our luggage there after we had cleared our room and paid our bill. This was greatly helpful enabling us to spend the rest of that day in Salzburg unencumbered by suitcases. My wife and I are 70+ years of age.

You get just what it says on the tin with this well located, small, budget hotel. Its clean and warm with spacious rooms and it prvides an ample standard continental breakfast in a pleasant if slightly short on space breakfast room. We have visited this hotel twice so that says a lot as I spend a lot of time considering where to stay and travel often. Dont expect a great deal of warmth from the reception staff though. Scant English is spoken, there is not a lot of smiling done and the slight impression gained is that the chaps who run the hotel do not thoroughly enjoy their jobs. Pity, as if they did it would make a very reasonable hotel a great one.

Our room was noisy both nights (overlooked the street) even though it appeared to be a quiet suburban area--People yelling at all hours in apt bldg across from hotel. Location - a good 15 minute stroll down to Salzsach River and the old town on the other side--ok for us but might not be for others. No entry lobby, just stairwell: reception and breakfast rooms down a flight of stairs in basement. There was also a small sitting room with a computer for internet access (free). Employees very nice, welcoming, helpful with suggestions, maps, etc. Room & bath not large, but comfortable & clean. We would not return only because we rarely, if ever, go back to the same place.

I have stayed in many hotels in salzburg and have found all of them (including the youth hostels) to be extremely good value. This one, however, was a complete disappointment. The hotel itself was so-so in terms of rooms and breakfast etc but the service and competence of the staff was awful. on arrival I had to wait about five minutes for the receptionist to finsh eating her snack before she could be bothered to serve me and when she did, I felt as though I was causing her a great inconvienience! Noone bothered to tell me when or where breakfast was served, when checkout was or anything about the room and all the staff that evening never once said hello to any guest that entered the hotel. I definitely wouldnt stay there again.

Unfortunately we were not impressed by hotel lasserhof. The positives are that it is close to the train station and the breakfast is good. Our room was clean but it looked out to apartments that partied loudly late into the night. At 1:40 in the morning we were awoken by guitar playing and singing that went on for an hour. Although the hotel was clean and in walking distance from the 2 towns I was not impressed with the service. No one went out of their way to greet, chat, or offer advice of the town. Although we loved Salzburg and will be back we will not be staying at this hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station, about a 15-20 minute walk from the city center. The surrounding neighborhood gets pretty quiet on the weekends, so it can be hard to find a restaurant near the hotel, but the desk staff recommended a nice Italian restaurant for me. The rooms are small, but clean and the breakfast was good. I was traveling alone and felt safe in the hotel. My only complaint was I was awakened several times in the night by people climbing up the stairs, which were not carpeted.

IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN SALZBURG THE LASSERHOF IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE. THE ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS AND VERY CLEAN AND THE BREAKFAST IS A COLD BUFFET STYLE. YOU ARE ONLY 10 MINUTES WALK FROM THE OLD TOWN. OVERALL IT IS VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.

Very quaint modest accomodation. Very nice breakfast. Although wait staff robotic and not really friendly. Desk staff very helpful. Location to train station good. Enjoyed our stay. Would go back for the price.

The room looks/feels like mediaeval prsion room(some people may like the style) and the wooden floor has the function to anti-thief, it keeps making noisy when walking on it. We keep wondering how the hotels are rated in Europe. A four star hotel in Salzburg equals a 2 star hotel in Shanghai?!
