We heartily recommend the Hohenstauffen for a visit to Salzburg. It's a friendly place to stay, our host gave great recommendations on where to eat, it's in a convenient location for both the city sights and the train station, and the accommodation is clean, quiet, spacious and pleasant. We would definitely go back there.

The room was small but quite sufficient for our stay - 2 adults. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. Overall it was one of the best pensions we stayed at on our 3 week trip. It was the only place with a laundry nearby, which we were informed about as we arrived! The daily weather forecast in the lift is an excellent idea too. Thanks also for the water bottles, another good healthy idea...

I found the Hohenstauffen to be a very comfortable and practical place to stay in Salzburg. The room size was ample. It was very peaceful and quiet. Close to the train station yet in a neighborhood setting. 15 to 20 min walk to the old city and major sights. The best part of the hotel is the amazing staff. Rarely does one encounter such courteous and helpful people as I found here. All and all an excellent value and a truly pleasurable experience to stay here. It is as good as the travel experience gets for me and I travel a lot. I highly recommend this hotel.

How to reach Hohenstauffen Hotel

By car
From the Mitte / Zentrum A1 highway exit: first follow signs to the city center, then keep going straight until you reach a big bridge. After the bridge, turn left into Haunspergstrasse at the first traffic light. Then turn right at the fourth street. At the end of this street (Stauffenstrasse), you will find the Hotel Hohenstauffen on your right.
From the Nord A1 highway exit: first drive towards the city center, then towards Maira Plain / Itzling. Go on for 200 meters, turn right, and at the next crossing, turn left. Take the Bahnhofstrasse and go straight ahead. After the Hotel Renaissance, turn right and take the next street left. You are now on Elisabethstrasse. Go straight on and 150 meters after the traffic lights, you will find the Hotel Hohenstauffen on your right.
From the Süd A10 highway exit: follow the signs to the City Centre, cross the Nonntaler bridge, turn left after the bridge, and drive past the National Theatre and the Mozarteum (Schwarzstrasse). Go straight on (Haunspergstrasse). At the fourth street (traffic lights) before the Gramiller company, turn right in to Stauffenstrasse. At the end of this street your will find the Hotel Hohenstauffen on your right.
