the hotel is a perfect location just in the main street of salzburg. The staff is great, umbrella was lent due to bad weather, the room is clean and wide. Only the bathroom was a bit quite old and small, The tv set was just in front of our bed preventing to have a full view of the room when we were in bed. Anyway the hotel is excellent, and I would come back again.

A wonderfull central location in the old town. Hotel is full of charm and history but rooms and hotel has all mod cons. A great place for a romnatic break, highly recomended.

Although the beauty of the thotel , the room and the quality of the two restaurants, we made some local calls (to a 0800), as we did in other hotels in Austria and Italy. When we made the check-out, the "surprise". Each time we made a phone call, even if it was to 0800 and of less than 1-2 minutes, there was an absurd rate of 2,80 euro!!!! We (me and my mother) think that it is not the spected of a good quality hotel like G. Hirsch. At least, the rate should be informed before.

The only issue preventing a perfect 10 rating, across the board, was the abysmal Air Conditioning. Leaving the windows open cooled the room, but allowed street noise to pervade. The AC is simply not capable to cooling the room to livable standards. It is a shame. The location is splendid, the staff top notch, the facility overall just stunning.

Wonderful place, best location, great staff. Breakfast, not included in room rate, was too expensive. If we are ever in Salzburg again, we will stay here.
