This hotel is not in the city center. It's about a 10 - 15 minute walk. You really need to take a bus to get there from the Train Station. The hotel is nice, comfortable and the room was good too. Free wifi was provided.

This is a lovely little hotel. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was the bomb. Really, really good. Our room was clean and modern and pleasant. We had a car and parking was immediately across the street in their own lot and free. That was great. It was a about a 20' walk to the old town. But, walking is good for you and it was easy. We would definitely stay again.

Afternoon greeter was lovely. But, said wash service was available...then, next morning very rude gentleman and lady said we are "not a wash-house" and refused to do laundry as promised. Then, later, challenged us at breakfast to prove we paid...but, website said breakfast was standard. We were not pleased to say the least...very rude overall experience. Restaurant had Pakastani food and authentic Austrian food...but, it was noisy and the smell wafted to rooms in evening....not air conditioning.

I would highly recommend staying at Drei Kreuz in Salzburg. The room was perfect for our party of 3 adults. The hotel is clean, well appointed and VERY quiet. Our breakfast was more than expected and well worth the price. Fresh coffee & tea was brought to our table and there was a lovely assortment of breads & danishes, 3 types of eggs (scrambled, boiled & poached), cheese, meat, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. The hotel free parking was very close (across the street) It is only a 10-15 min. walk to Mirabell gardens (FYI there is a paid parking garage across the street from the gardens with free bathrooms). You won't regret staying here!

I travelled with my older children, their spouses, and a 2 mo infant, and stayed in a very large quad room that the staff made into a room for five plus the crib, and it still was not crowded! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast room was reasonable size, the food just fine, though not with a huge number of choices. It was a bit of a walk into the center which we enjoyed, but there was a frequent bus just 1 block away. Good restaurant next door and a Chinese one around the corner. Would stay here again....loved Salzburg.

The people at the reception were very helpful and welcoming. I had a double room to myself and I felt that it was quite a large (clean) room compared to some of the others I've seen while touring Europe. I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and wireless internet. There is an elevator and a luggage room which were also greatly appreciated. They give you hand outs on tours that are available (not included) and I went on the Sound of Music and Bavarian Mountains and Salt Mines. I enjoyed both, but liked the second one more. The tours pick you up at the hotel which is also good. There is a restaurant right next door which serves a wide variety of foods. I took the bus after flying in and the directions on the website are bang on. Quite easy to find. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay in Salzburg.

The lady who greeted us when we arrived was wonderful. She was very informative and knowledgeable. At first I was somewhat questioning her motives for being so helpful but everything was exactly correct. It was like having a travel agent or tour guide at your hotel to help you plan your stay and when you came back in she wanted to know how your day was. There is also a wonderful restaurant right next store. The hotel is a little ways out from the older part of the city but the bus system in Salzburg is excellent. They were even concerned about the morning we were leaving and that it was before breakfast would be ready and they were trying to figure out how we might get something to eat before we left.

I strongly recommend Drei Kreuz as it is a well located "value" of a hotel with a great breakfast. It is extremely close to the AltStadt (touristy area of Salzburg), rooms were impeccably clean, no smoke smell (hard to find in this value range in Europe) and all was perfect with our stay. Not located on a beautiful street, but so close to everything that it is a perfect value.

My wife and I have made it a tradition to go to Austria during the Advent period to take part in the wonderful Austrian Christmas preparations (Christkindlmarkt etc.). This was our first visit to Salzburg, and we were very pleased indeed. Salzburg is a wonderful city in romantic alpine surroundings. We stayed in a regular double room which was perfectly ok. Drei Kreuz is a 'no-nonsense' hotel for people who need a nice place to sleep and have breakfast within easy walking distance of the 'tourist places' in the city centre (about 10-20 minutes' walk, depending on what part of the centre you're heading for). The hotel is excellently located in relation to buses to and from the airport - regular city buses (electric!) with cheap tickets and the ride to the airport takes 40-45 minutes. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful - the hotel appears to be a family operation. There's a nice restaurant next door and several other restaurants close by. The street where the hotel is located is perhaps not the nicest of streets (a big parking lot and a car showroom on the other side), but you just go round the corner and after a few minutes, you're in the bright lights of the city. An extra Salzburg bonus: Bavarian Berchtesgaden - a very nice little mountain town with a dramatic alpine scenery surrounding it - is only 45 minutes away by regular bus from the Salzburg city centre. Well worth a visit (Hitler's 'Eagle's Nest' is closed during winter however).

Breakfast buffet was very good. Unlike some guests who received a larger room than expected, we reserved a quad room and received a double room with two extra beds put in -- there was very little space. Bathroom was oddly lit/dim. Really a good accomodation. We booked a room for four persons, as we travel with two children and were hosted (same price) in alittle, simple, nice and clean suite with a big room with a double and a single bed and another room with a single bed. The bathroom was clean with well dimensioned shower. Family owned hotel, people at the desk and breakfast room was really kind and we received a lot of suggestions. We've bought the Salzburg pass that gave us the access to museums, castles and the public transports, so that even if the city centre is at about 15 minutes by foot we always took one of the frequent autobus that you can reach near the hotel. A good location in a quiet area. We always look for small hotels when we travel. The rooms were a nice size and included a hot pot for tea if you liked. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to both the main train station and the downtown area. The staff was EXTREMELY helpful, purchasing concert tickets for us, providing excellent restaurant recommendations (places where they themselves like to eat) and going above and beyond to find us the necessary train schedule. The breakfast room was beautiful and the complimentary buffet was great, including unique juices, cakes and toast spreads in addition to the traditional Austrian breakfast fare. The water pressure in the showers was FANTASTIC and they were one of the few hotels that provided soap and shampoo in the bathroom. The view from our room of the hill behind the hotel decked out in fall foliage was gorgeous and the walk to the water took us through a charming pedestrian zone lined with quant shops and cafes. We booked a triple room but the third bed was a rather old half couch "contraction" placed at the very foot of the other bed. Not what you would expect for a triple. Our next visit a few day's later was a beter room with 3 actual beds, seems to be a luck of the draw kind of thing. I won't be back as I know there is a lot more choice. Here are the pros and cons of the Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find if you are arriving by car as we did. It is located on the perimeter of the city and approx. a 7 to 10 minute walk from the pedestrian area of Salzburg, and a 15 to 20 minute walk from the center of the old town. As advertised, it offers free parking, but the parking lot is an unpaved, interior lot located across the hotel with no lights. Both front desk ladies who checked us in and out were very nice and friendly. The room was small with old furniture. The bathroom was remodeled and very clean, but the bath towels were worn-out. There was no shampoo in the bathroom and had to ask for bars of soap. Since it was the beginning of September, the weather was hot and we had to open both windows since there is no air-conditioning. Our room had windows in the front and rear, but the front window, when open, produced some traffic noise from the street. The cold breakfast was adequate and the breakfast room is cute and has a nice alpine character. The price given to us was the price quoted. The bottom line is this: if you are single, young, non demanding, or a young family and looking for a budget hotel, Drei Kreuz is a good choice. If you are on your honeymoon or traveling with your demanding friend, stay elsewhere. Personally, I would stay there again, but upon checking in, I will ask for a rear room, and request that they inspect the room for shampoo, soap and new towels. Good luck!

Es un hotel a 15 ó 20 minutos del centro, se puede ir a pie dando un paseo. Las habitaciones están limpias y tienen baños amplísimos. El desayuno es continental está bien pero insuficiente.

The staff is not available throughout the night. Had I not emailed in advance to notify the hotel about our late arrival, I don't think we would have been able to get into our room. Otherwise, our stay was a happy one. The staff is professional, but the hotel has the homey feel of a family run establishment. While a couple of blocks outside of the action, everything is Salzburg is walkable.

Not a bad walk from the main area of Salzburg and to get closer the accommodations are more expensive. Our rooms were on the busy street side and were noisy all night. The breakfast was good and the employees friendly and helpful. With 7 in our party we were acoomodated satisfactorily.

Nice & a very welcoming hotel and great value for money. The room was spaciuos and with all basic amenities. The hotel was not as close to the city centre as I had imagined after reading the profile but still very well connected by buses as the bus stop was very close by. We could also walk to the city centre in 15-20 minutes as Salzburg is quite a compact town. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, and I think its a family managed place. We were very warmly welcomed and given maps, brochures etc on arrival by them and also a great orientation of the city while checking in. We had a great time in Salzburg and at the hotel.

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our time there and would stay there again. The breakfast was excellent and most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and spoke English. One of the staff was quite pushy, trying to sell us tickets for attractions etc. and was a bit grudging when we needed extra pillows. The family room was a little cramped with only one chair for four of us to sit on, and it could have been a bit cleaner, but it was adequate for our needs. All the promised services were available and we were very pleased to find a kettle in our room.

This is not a luxury hotel by any means. However, the room was clean and certainly adequate for our 3 day stay in Salzburg. The front desk staff is exceptionally helpful. The hotel location is very convenient - its a 10 - 15 minute walk to Altstadt (Old City). Its very easy to reach the hotel from the airport - just hop on the #2 bus (costs only 1.80 euros per person!). Breakfast was included and was fine - cereals, cold cuts/cheeses, yogurt and fruit. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Drei Kreuz and would be happy to stay here again.

This hotel was very reasonably priced with very friendly multilingual staff and a good location. The only think i would say is if you are bringing a car there is no lighting in the car park. The rooms were big with a small kitchenette and a spacious bathroom.

The Hotel Drei Kreuz is an outstanding hotel. The staff made us feel welcome the moment we entered the hotel lobby. They gave us a one bedroom apartment instead of a room which made our stay even better. The hotel is situated about ten minutes from the town center which was perfect. There is a nice Indian restaurant around the corner from the hotel which serves excellent Indian cuisine. We would definitely stay there again. We will definitely recommene this hotel to all of our friends.

Although I stayed in that hotel just for one night, I am quite impressed by the friendliness of the staffs at the front desk. They always readily provided any travel related information I asked for. The quality of breakfast provided is quite good, specially considering the reasonable room rate.

From our warm welcome when we first entered, until our fond farewell when we checked out, Drei Kreuz was a fabulous place to stay! The spacious rooms were cleaner than anyone could expect a hotel to be. The breakfast spread was equally unbelievable. Our stay was the best we've experienced in Europe and we highly recommend this establishment!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Drei Kreuz and Salzburg in general. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Location was good, plenty of resturants within a short distance. The only complaint I would have is that the room we were given, whilst very clean, was not as shown on the website. Havins said that, would still recommend this hotel, price was very good and breakfasts were very generous.

For the costs involved, the stay was very good.Made to feel welcome, late evening arrival no problem, very clean and functional , which is all that is required to rest the head at night.Only one problem for myself was the pillow could have been a little more bulkier, other than that , i would along with the rest of the group , visit again.

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful. The proprieters were friendly, spoke excellent english and very helpful. She even printed a map for our drive to our next hotel in Germany. The breakfast area was warm yet spacious and incuded cereal, juice, eggs, meat, fruit, cake, coffee/tea,etc. There is a bus but we found the 15-20 minute walk to the center of salzburg most enjoyable as the street is lined with shops. The hotel was very clean and an excellent value.

When I searched accomodation for 5 nights in Salzburg, I looked for the city centre because everytime I go on vacation I prefer to pay a little more and stay in the centre than waste my precious time and money on buses or trains. And so I found this hotel. When I arrived at Salzburg I was a little surprised because I did not expect such a small town. In fact, the hotel was not in the centre but it didn't matter because you could reach the centre in just a 15 minutes walk. By the way, I definitely recommend every tourist to buy the 'Salzburg Card' which allows free entrance to the main attractions and free transportation (a card valid for 72 hours costs 32 Euros). The bus/trolley system is very good, with an excellent service frequency, and there is a bus stop very close to the hotel. I stood in the 3rd floor, in a room faced to the back of the building. The room was large enough, the bed was also good. The furniture was a little old and inestethic but I was not expecting for the Sheraton! I never heard any noise coming from the other rooms or the corridors. Particulary in the morning, it is usual at other hotels to hear doors slamming and people talking loud as they descend to breakfast but this is was not the case at Drei Kreuz. I found this amazing because the hotel was full! Breakfast (7 to 10 a.m.) was OK, consisting on a typical continental breakfast. The staff was very kind and helpful. The only problem was at the arrival. I arrived around 23:00 and the reception closes at 21:00 (if you want to get out at night you need to take the key with you). A few days earlier, I sent an e-mail informing my arrival time and was told that my room key would be deposited in a post box outside the door that that I could easily open. When I arrived the key was not there but there was a written message for me hanging on the door asking to ring the bell. So, I rang the bell. Unfortunately, the man who answered did not speak english so it was very hard to understand h

Hotel Drei Kreuz was perfect for our needs. Very easy to get to the main sights by bus. Buy the Salzburg card for $20 euro and you get free public transportation and admission to most of the famous sights. Well worth it. Loved the hotel and the staff was very friendly.
