Hotel Doktorwirt - Salzburg

It was just terrible...the room was cold, I mean the heating didnt works. Only one blanket, but not a good blanket to sleep in winter. I was cold. After that, the solarium was broke. Nobody to help us to carry our bags. And the service, the owner has been so unplesant. Without talking that this hotel is so far away from the city and around it there are nothing to do.

The staff was very helpful with everything, including offering to dry our clothes. The bus stop was close by and made it easy and cheap to get into town. The food was also excellent!

I loved this place. Really nice staff. A bit out in the boonies, but nice surroundings and convenient bus service to and from Salzburg. They also have bicycles available, but if you are a serious bike rider, you won't be happy with them so bring your own. The bikes they provide are OK for riding to town and back along the river, which is quite pleasant, but not for riding up into the mountains (also quite pleasant) or anything serious - they don't believe in lube and the chain on the one I used was mostly composed of Quik-Links (and broke something like 4 times, but then I'm a big guy). Food at the hotel is OK, good breakfasts, and a couple of good restaurants close by. Nice rural countryside, good views. The ski trails made for good hiking (I was there in the summer). Not much of a bar/night-life scene, if you're into that.

I booked this hotel as suprise get away to Salzburg for my boyfriend, and i definetly don't regret it. It was a great hotel, the bedroom was nice and spacious. The hotel is about 15mins bus ride away from the centre, but it wasn't a problem as the bus stop is just 2-5mins walk from hotel, the buses ran on time and came every 10mins. I would recommend buying a Salzburg card, we got one for 48hours and we saved a lot of money! ( public transport is free with the card and many of the sights are too, such as; cable car to Untersburg, the fortress,salzburg zoo,natural history museum etc..) The food at the hotel was amazing, a bit pricey but def worth it! the menu was all in German but the waitress and waiter were kind enough to translate everything in english for us! Although I am writing this review over a year after I stayed in this hotel I can remember every detail. It was a most beautiful place to stay and I have since recommended to several of my friends who have stayed there over the past year. It looks as it is pictured on the web but you really have to see it to believe the views. The staff, food and everything were just fantastic. I will certainly stay here again.

Nice & friendly staff, relaxing quiet surroundings.

Very welcoming place. Easily accessible by public transport. Just far enough away from the downtown area to get a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy a quiet retreat. Breakfast on the patio was a highlight as was the balcony overlooking the patio and looking towards the mountain.

Unfortunately we were disappointed to find the swimming pool is outside and the sauna/steamroom hadn't been built yet. But overall the hotel is surely a 5* resort.

Very nice, but you need to have a car.
