Ask for a room in the back as street-side rooms are very noisy. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff was friendly and accommodating, and spoke fluent English. Train station was only a five minute walk, but Old Town was about a 20 minute walk along and across the river. The walk seemed OK during the day, but we elected to drive to Old Town at night. On site restaurant was satisfactory, but no other restaurants nearby. Free parking was much appreciated. Don't miss the 10:00 Sunday Mass at the cathedral - choir and orchestra were superb.

We love Saltzburg and this is a very nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, a nice atmosphere and comfortable. I think it is the largest hotel room we have had while in Europe. We would recommend it as a nice place to stay.

Our stay was fantastic... breakfast was very nice and the only drawback was we didn't book a room with A/C, because we didn't know they had them. But most in europe do not. Great hotel and price!

E' il posto dove ti senti a casa. ho molto apprezzato il bollitore dell'acqua con le buste di te/caffe/cioccolato, generalmente in uso nei paesi anglosassoni

The breakfast spread was good. But what leaves a deep impression was the excellent services provided! We have travelled through European countries such as France, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Vienna in Austria and this hotel has the best service. The staff were really helpful, genuinely friendly and welcoming. It really feels good when you are on a long journey and really need a place which feels like home. We enjoyed our stay tremendously!

Really good for price/quality. It's not really near to all the tourist attractions but not so far (around a 15' walk).

Great stay here! Clean, spacious room with separate dressing area and modern bath. Front desk and owner were super helpful and welcoming. Lent us all umbrellas on a rainy day and gave us recommendations and directions. Great buffet breakfast. Be aware that it is a 15 min walk to old town. FYI besides the xtra bed, there is nothing special about the Sound of Music 'theme room' besides a cute painting.

We stayed in an annexe across the road from the main hotel. It was spacious, clean and modern. We had an excellent breakfast in the main hotel, and all the staff were very friendly. We wished we could have stayed longer. It was very good value for money.

The service was very good. I have asked for 3 roses on my bed for my wife, and they hav prepared this, with the love card, t a very cheap price, as I have asked. We were in the new part of the hotel, in front of the old one, and the rooms was beautifull, clean, and very confortable. More than what we thought. Really good htel, with good breakfast, vey closed (50 mt) to the central bus station, that give you the possibility to go everywhere. If you want walk, in 15 miutes you can be under the castle.

We got a very warm welcome on arrival and check in went off without a hitch. We had a triple room on the 'Sound of Music' floor. Windows were double glazed so it was quite from street noise, it had air conditioning, beds were comfortable and the bathroom had floor heating. Breakfast was typical for european hotels and there was free parking outside.

This hotel was quite charming - we stayed in the Sound of Music suite. It's a little ways from the main section of town, but very close to the train station. Overall it was a nice hotel.

A good location with a short walk to the main bus/trolley station and also to the main rail station. After checking out we walked to the rail station and took a train journey to Vienna - so simple. The hotel staff were most welcoming and very helpful [most speaking very good English which was a huge advantage] The service provided was excellent throughout and the breakfasts were most enjoyable. This was our second visit to this hotel in two years.

The room was expensive compared to similiar rooms we booked in other cities (munich, prague, venice). the weather was very hot and the airconditioner and refridgerator were both useless, also the bathroom floor seemed to be heated even though the weather was extremely hot. the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. the room was small for the price. we needed to leave early by train and the hotel is very close to the train station. my daughter enjoyed that they had Sound Of Music on the in-house video as we visited many of the films locations.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had a spacious room and the staff really helped us with bookin a Sound of Music Tour. The location was near the train station (within walking distance), but next time we will probably stay closer to the Old Town.

Our room was located on the first floor. Since the weather was warm and there was no room ventilation or air conditioning, we had to leave the window open at night. Unfortunately, we were located right above one of the busiest, noisiest intersections in Salzburg, and immediately adjacent to a construction site. We got very little sleep, and would therefore not be likely to stay here again. The staff, however, were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was delicious.

We also enjoyed a very good dinner @ the Hotel.
