Hotel Belmondo - Salzburg

The hotel isn´t in the old quarter, but at walking distance from the main attractions. It is clean and the staff was friendly. I would recommend it.

I may have been unlucky, but the room reeked of cigarette smoke

We have been in Salzburg for two days / one night.

The room was clean enough. It was close to the train station, but far from the city center. It was not in the best part of town. We saw some "street walkers" in the evening. It seemed overpriced for the service and value. We recently stayed in a four star hotel in Chicago for less money. It seems, at least, breakfast should have been included . It was definately "no frills", basic services.

In general the hotel is situated in a very good place as it takes only 5-7 minutes walk to the city sights. Easy to get to the city center by bus as well. As for the hotel it doesn't correspond to 4 star hotel.The windows of the room that I stayed at faced the main street and it was impossible to sleep as the street is too noisy. But in general the stay was ok.

Reception staff are very friendly and accommodating, specially Manuel and Lisa. Ambiance is very warm and pleasant, rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Good value for money. We'll recommend it to our friends and family.

I have never had a thinner pillow or a harder matress. When I requested another pillow I was advised that nowhere in Austria would I be able to get a second far less a third for comfort. Only the welcoming member of staff proved polite the rest of the reception staff need to be trained in simple PR and basic courteousness!

Correct hotel, good quality/price ecuation. May be some impersonal treat at the reception.

Hotel was an easy walk from the train station. It was also walkable from old town area, and also close to a direct bus line. Room was well-equipped and had a nice TV with lots of channels. I did not take the 11 Euro breakfast. There was a cafe next door (to the east) and a nice Italian restaurant to the west (it's sort of part of the hotel). There are also several ethnic restaurants in the area. I went to a great Korean place called "Hibiskus". Ask the hotel for directions. I was surprised to discover Austria still allows smoking inside public bldgs.

El hotel está en un barrio muy feo. La habitación es minúscula, al igual que el cuarto de baño. A partir de las 11 de la noche no hay recepcionistas en el hotel. Se puede aparcar el coche en una plaza al lado del hotel con total seguridad. Además es gratis durante el fin de semana. El desayuno es bastante pobre. Hay que pedir que te traigan un simple croissant, porque desaparecen y no los reponen, y luego tardan un montón de tiempo en traértelo. Es mejor desayunar en cualquier otro sitio. El hotel no es tan céntrico como dicen. Hay que coger el coche para visitar cualquier lugar. Muy importante: hace un calor insoportable en la habitación y no hay aire acondicionado, ni siquiera un triste ventilador. Este hotel me ha decepcionado. No volvería ni gratis, con eso lo digo todo.

The quality and friendly service of the staff at the Belmondo was excellent and I would certainly stay there again if I return to Salzburg , I will also reccommend to others if they are going there

The room is clean and spacious, the breakfast is unforgettable!!

The room was lovely and clean and quite spacious, with nice bathroom facilities. The staff here were also excellent - friendly, welcoming and helpful. The old town is easy to walk to from the hotel alongside the river.

We found the Belmondo to be a very decent hotel The room was large and clean, though we could have done with an extra pillow each. Shower and bath were excellent. The breakfast was generous and fairly priced. The Italian restaurant next door was very good -- an excellent meal, well above the standard of normal pizzeria and pasta joints, and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and good-natured, and patient with our very entry-level German. The walk to old Salzburg was easy and pleasant.

The hotel room was very clean, the bathroom was excellent and the beds were comfortable. I would stay there again but I would prefer that breakfast was included in the price. For the price you pay per night, there are plenty of other nice places that cost a similar amount and include breakfast. Two people at 10 Euro's each for breakfast would take the cost up to almost 100 Euro for a nights stay for two people with breakfast. The hotel was lovely, but you could find a fancy hotel that includes breakfast for 100 Euro per night. For those on a budget there is a supermarket 5 minutes walk down the road where you can buy breakfast on the go.

The hotel is stated to be a 4 star hotel, but the facilities were compared to a 2 star hotel. Hotel needs re-furnishing.

Scam for breakfest - 20 Euros - indicate included. Female manager very rude - "that is the price that is life " No one there after 10 pm - Parking a car was a problem. Staff very rude. never stay here again !!
