I am overall very pleased with my 12 days stay at the Goldenes Theaterhotell in Salzburg from 20 June to 2 July 2013.I am a 67 yrs old Icelandic woman with a lot of reumatic illness in my body and the staff was exellent and helped me in many ways. When I booked the hotel I sent an e-mail to them concerning some special needs I had and received emediatly an answer telling they could meet all my needs but one. The personal in the reception were exxellent and service minded. The breakfast, including in the hotel price, was exellent and the staff in that area wery service minded. I even learned to know the cleaning ladies, because I often rested during the time they were cleaning my room, so we had good co-operation. The hotel is perfectly situated, only 15 min walk down the street to the Alt Stadt/Old town with same distances to other interesting places like Mirabell Gardens. All in all I am very happy with my stay in Salzburg and I am surely coming back again and absolutely staying in Goldenes Theater Hotel. Erla Höskuldsdottir

I had a nice stay and the staff were warm and friendly! Everything is good except that the wifi couldn't be used in rooms...but it could be use anywhere near the hallways, lounge etc and it has a strong wifi. The rooms were clean and spacious enough. The price is almost the same as hostels in Salzburg at times but this one is more worth it to stay. Tours were easy to book there as well. Location is great.

Comfortable spacious rooms ideal for families with two children or for couples on a longer stay. On walking distance of city center. Delicious breakfast buffet. Respect the parking time or alternatively hire space in the hotel garage. Public parking building nearby. Many restaurants and coffee bars nearby.

Hotel has a nice location. The room was Ok for 1 person but would be small for a couple. Also I considered it cold comparing to the public areas. Fortunetly the blanket was very good. There are a few degrees in the main entrance and I didn't notice if there is an special entrance for wheel-chair.

Our room was comfortable and spacious, although no toiletry items are provides besides liquid soap, unlike in other hotels of similar category.Breakfast buffet fully satisfactory. we were glad to find WiFi and a computer with free internet in the lobby. Hotel is fairly well located, within a 15 min. walk from old town.

This hotel don't correspond to the standard of a 4 stars Hotel. The breakfast room is to small and you have to wait to sit. The quality and choice of the breakfast is very poor (I know some 3 stars hotels that are very much better about this point). our room had no fridge, and when we reported we were promised to install the next day. But next day still no fridge!! the cleaning service is too late (3 pm)

The Cordial Theater Hotel was well priced for the busy Salzburg city area on the fringe of Summer/peak season. Only a 15 min walk from the old town. You need to catch a taxi OR buses x2 to reach the hotel from the central train station, directions were excellent on the booking site. The hotel is within walking distance to all tourist attractions in the old town eg. fortress, ferry rides, shopping precinct, restaurants. Public buses run close by to the hotel. Hotel Staff were very helpful towards us with assisting in using the public transport system. You must get the "Salzburg card" for an economic way to see all tourist attractions as well as free public transport, ask reception staff. You have to keep your bedroom windows totally closed overnight to block city noises, otherwise the hotel is quiet. A fan is provided for your comfort in the heat, no A/C of course as is the case in most hotels. No top sheet like all hotels we visited, must be a European thing. The mattress and pillow were dreadful unfortunately, as the room was spotless and very generous in size with even a stove top and sink and bar fridge. (Not that any kitchen equipment was provided to cook in!) B'fast was great...eggs & bacon etc as well as the usual rolls and deli meat, cereals etc although a grumpy waitress served. Free internet service was very helpful with fast connection. Overall worth the stay although I think they should replace their pillows and mattresses. Only stayed x2 nights so it wasn't unbearable, but I do like comfortable bedding, especially after a travel-filled day.

As nearly everybody reports: a very nice hotel, near to the city center, friendly staff, very good breakfast, spacious room, parkingfacilities good though not on the hotelsite (public garage just a 5 minutes walk from the hotel). Don't expect extended public areas nor design attitude. It is just nice and cosy, clean and convinient. During our stay (3 nights) we had one problem only: the wireless internetconnection did not work in our room and the staff couldn't do anything about that. Very pitty. At least it was not listed on our bill which was quite attentive.

A very warm and efficient welcome. Hotel more 3+ star than 4+ but comfortable and clean. A good walk into town but pedestrianised most of the way with little shops to view. They'd made a real effort for Christmas and managed a full Christmas Eve dinner well. Breakfast was good, if not as outstanding as other commentators had made out! For the money (36 Euros per person per night, Bed & Breakfast, mid-season) this hotel truly represented superb value and I would be happy to go back again. The only thing I would do differently next time is to request a room overlooking the side street (the hotel is L-shaped) rather than the main street(Schallmooser Hauptstraße) which is clearly a main commuter route. If you needed to have a window open the traffic noise could get very wearing, especially during rush-hours.

We were EXTREMELY impressed with the Cordial Theater Hotel! We reserved 2 double rooms for 4 of us, and the person at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is really charming. The breakfast buffet was the BEST of any hotel we have stayed at in Europe (4 Stars are the highest rated hotels we've stayed in, but I would venture to say that this breakfast would be comparable to a 5 Star hotel). There is free internet located by the nicely stocked bar, which is always a big bonus! The rooms were awesome. Upon entering the room, we were pleasantly surprised to see a small kitchenette and were greeted with little chocolates atop each pillow (which was a nice touch). The bathrooms were very nice, too. Oh... if you want to relax in a sauna after a long day, it's FREE! They also offer massage services at a very reasonable rate. We loved this hotel, and will recommend it to everyone we know who plans to visit Salzburg!

This was the best hotel we stayed at during our trip in Europe. The hotel staff were very professional, with everything we needed. It was also within close walking distance to both the train station and the city center. The breakfast buffet was also more than adequate. It was a bargain for what we paid for the room. I would certainly recommend it.

Excellent breakfast. It turned out that my room view was on a building site, which was a bit noisy, and depressing, but I was offered the chance to change rooms if I wanted. In the end, I stayed where I was, from general fatigue. It was very good to have internet access (though access to my mail did not function.) The machine needs a few small repairs. But it is a real plus to have it there, and I appreciated your thinking of it. The only down side is the screaming children when there are children. It is the parents' fault. The price I was given was good.

Had a great time. The restaurant in the hotel served a great dinner (was somewhat surprised that a hotel restaurant provided the quality of food given). Adequate breakfast buffet which was also included in the price. No covered parking, but it was easy to find parking on the street (probably helped that we were there offseason). There are several public garages that are nearby.

Good value hotel for the location, metres away from the pedestrian old town area. We also found several excellent and affordable bars behind the hotel which served up some great food. Supermarket across the road was handy. Breakfast was excellent. Would definately stay again if I return to Salzburg.

Good value in terms of location and quality. We booked at 86 Euros per night including breakfast. Can't complain. It's about 10 minutes walk to the Residenz, Mozart Museum, etc. Parking garage was just accross the street and the staff were very friendly and helpful with driving directions for our daily excursions.

It's okay. They could do better in terms of cleanliness but it has been a good stay anyway. Parking service is expensive and is not directly controlled by the hotel.

Staff were excellent and very helpful. The location was good as well. The rooms were very large and clean. The only downside was the furniture and room were dated and need redecorating. Other than that it was good value.
