We stayed two nights in Salzburg. Our room was comfortable and spacious, although no toiletry items are provides besides liquid soap, unlike in other hotels of similar category.Breakfast buffet fully satisfactory. we were glad to find WiFi and a computer with free internet in the lobby. Hotel is fairly well located, within a 15 min. walk from old town.

Large room, simply firnished. Above average bathroom. Outstanding breakfast. Bit of a hike up a slight grade from the old city of Salzburg. Staff was very helpful with restaurant and concert reservations and helped arrange for a private driver for a tour of the area. Clemons [the driver] was great!

This hotel don't correspond to the standard of a 4 stars Hotel. The breakfast room is to small and you have to wait to sit. The quality and choice of the breakfast is very poor (I know some 3 stars hotels that are very much better about this point). our room had no fridge, and when we reported we were promised to install the next day. But next day still no fridge!! the cleaning service is too late (3 pm)

The Cordial Theater Hotel was well priced for the busy Salzburg city area on the fringe of Summer/peak season. Only a 15 min walk from the old town. You need to catch a taxi OR buses x2 to reach the hotel from the central train station, directions were excellent on the booking site. The hotel is within walking distance to all tourist attractions in the old town eg. fortress, ferry rides, shopping precinct, restaurants. Public buses run close by to the hotel. Hotel Staff were very helpful towards us with assisting in using the public transport system. You must get the "Salzburg card" for an economic way to see all tourist attractions as well as free public transport, ask reception staff. You have to keep your bedroom windows totally closed overnight to block city noises, otherwise the hotel is quiet. A fan is provided for your comfort in the heat, no A/C of course as is the case in most hotels. No top sheet like all hotels we visited, must be a European thing. The mattress and pillow were dreadful unfortunately, as the room was spotless and very generous in size with even a stove top and sink and bar fridge. (Not that any kitchen equipment was provided to cook in!) B'fast was great...eggs & bacon etc as well as the usual rolls and deli meat, cereals etc although a grumpy waitress served. Free internet service was very helpful with fast connection. Overall worth the stay although I think they should replace their pillows and mattresses. Only stayed x2 nights so it wasn't unbearable, but I do like comfortable bedding, especially after a travel-filled day.

Super friendly staff that were very knowlegeable and helpful. Breakfast was very sufficient and waitstaff kept it well-stocked. I would recommend this hotel for people who did what I did, get out and see this amazing city - rooms are not large and just for sleeping. Price fair for this type of accomodation.

As nearly everybody reports: a very nice hotel, near to the city center, friendly staff, very good breakfast, spacious room, parkingfacilities good though not on the hotelsite (public garage just a 5 minutes walk from the hotel). Don't expect extended public areas nor design attitude. It is just nice and cosy, clean and convinient. During our stay (3 nights) we had one problem only: the wireless internetconnection did not work in our room and the staff couldn't do anything about that. Very pitty. At least it was not listed on our bill which was quite attentive.

We had a very good stay at the Cordial Theatre Hotel. We were 3 couples. The rooms were very nice and clean. People at the reception were friendly and helpfull (they also spoke a little bit of italian). The hotel is close to the City Center so you can reach all the most famous Salzburg's attractions by walk.

Good directions and location; about one mile from train station and one mile from center. Staff were friendly and helpful. Internet station in lobby was usually available and working. Rooms were comfortable and efficient, breakfast was good, bathrooms a little cramped, but all above average for an older renovated European hotel. Excellent local brewpub/restaurant one block away. Top value for the money -- I will most likely stay there again.

A very good hotel. The hotel staff were professional and competent. The breakfast offered a large variety of choices and was continuously replenished even at the end of the morning.

The staff were cheerful and helpful. I'd like to thank the front desk for always meeting me with a smile and helping with anything I needed. The worst I can say about the hotel was that the bed was uncomfortable for me (too hard). With good service, a good room, a handy location and a reasonable price, I'd recommend the Cordial to others travelling to Salzburg.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this hotel and found it very good value for money. The breakfast was superb, and the staff very helpful. Very pleasant room but we did find the mattress rather hard! A very warm and efficient welcome. Hotel more 3+ star than 4+ but comfortable and clean. A good walk into town but pedestrianised most of the way with little shops to view. They'd made a real effort for Christmas and managed a full Christmas Eve dinner well. Breakfast was good, if not as outstanding as other commentators had made out! Hotel could do with slightly updating but clean and comfortable.

For the money (36 Euros per person per night, Bed & Breakfast, mid-season) this hotel truly represented superb value and I would be happy to go back again. The only thing I would do differently next time is to request a room overlooking the side street (the hotel is L-shaped) rather than the main street(Schallmooser Hauptstraße) which is clearly a main commuter route. If you needed to have a window open the traffic noise could get very wearing, especially during rush-hours.

Rooms are centrally located right in the heart of the city. Had to change the room since we ordered a non-smoking but reeked of smoke - no problem to change room. Very spacious with a little kitchenette and perfect bathroom with shower. Best breakfast buffet I had in a long time - would definitely return. A little noisy from the street but had window closed so it was fine.

This is a very nice hotel. A 10 minute walk gets you into the tourist area. ATM across the street was convenient. The Chinese restaurant next door was excellent. We were EXTREMELY impressed with the Cordial Theater Hotel! We reserved 2 double rooms for 4 of us, and the person at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is really charming. The breakfast buffet was the BEST of any hotel we have stayed at in Europe (4 Stars are the highest rated hotels we've stayed in, but I would venture to say that this breakfast would be comparable to a 5 Star hotel). There is free internet located by the nicely stocked bar, which is always a big bonus! The rooms were awesome. Upon entering the room, we were pleasantly surprised to see a small kitchenette and were greeted with little chocolates atop each pillow (which was a nice touch). The bathrooms were very nice, too. Oh... if you want to relax in a sauna after a long day, it's FREE! They also offer massage services at a very reasonable rate. We loved this hotel, and will recommend it to everyone we know who plans to visit Salzburg!

Overall this is a pleasant place to stay. It's not to far from the train station (but not next to it) and not too far from the "old town". However, as americans we felt it did not deserve four stars. It was a little outdated.

The direction we got from the hotel was not that clear so it took longer that it should to get there. However, they did respond to our email request very quickly. The room is spacious, the bed is comfy and the breakfast adequate. However, it was always busy in the breakfast room and the staff seemed overwelmed at times and service was a bit lacking. The hotel is located right at the edge of the main road that leads you to the old town so that is convenient. Overall we are satisfied with our stay at this hotel.

Excellent breakfast. It turned out that my room view was on a building site, which was a bit noisy, and depressing, but I was offered the chance to change rooms if I wanted. In the end, I stayed where I was, from general fatigue. It was very good to have internet access (though access to my mail did not function.) The machine needs a few small repairs. But it is a real plus to have it there, and I appreciated your thinking of it. The only down side is the screaming children when there are children. It is the parents' fault. The price I was given was good.
