The Austrotel Salzburg is a 4-star boutique hotel in the city center of Salzburg, ideally located close to the Congress Center and world famous Mirabell Castle. All of the city's most popular sights are just a few minutes away on foot.
The 3 century old building was built as the residence for Archbishop Paris Lodron, but today contains 70 comfortable guest rooms of the Austrotel Salzburg. The traditional character can be felt throughout the accommodation and is supplemented by modern amenities, such as the Chill-Out Lounge with free soft drinks and newspapers, a pleasant place to unwind after a tiring day of working, or sightseeing in the Austrian city.

In a very expensive city, Austrotel is a real bargain. The room was small, but clean and close to everything. Good choice!

Thelocation across the street from the Mirabell Garden is excellent. Train station is a 15 min walk. The old town across the river is a short walk away. The lack of air conditioning could be a consideration during warm weather. The hotel has no dining facility (other than breakfast) and many restaurants in town close for Sunday. A pub nearby on the main street called Manuhamer (?) serves reasonable food.

Perfect location, only 5-10 minutes on foot from Salzburg's Old Town. Buffet breakfast was excellent, the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is free WIFI in the whole area of the hotel. Underground garage (Mirabell garage) is just a few steps from the hotel. In general we were really satisfied - the only problem we had was that our room's furniture was a bit worn-out and it was too close to the elevator and the cleaner's service room (room 201).

ottima posizione per visitare la città, in pochi minuti si arriva all'area pedonale dall'altra parte del fiume. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Camere confortevoli e pulite (anche la stanza singola), forse il bagno un po' piccolo. Accanto alla reception c'è una parte con poltrone e divani dove sono sempre a disposizione acqua, succhi di frutta, tisane e caffè. C'è anche un pc con connessione gratuita. Non abbiamo usufruito della colazione, forse a quel prezzo si può trovare di meglio fuori. Per chi viaggia in macchina l'hotel mette a disposizione a prezzo scontato il vicino Mirabellgarage (prima di ritirare la macchina presentare il biglietto del garage alla reception, loro mettono un timbro poi ci si presenta alla cassa del garage - non alle macchinette automatiche - ed il personale del garage applica lo sconto). Ci tornerei senz'altro.

By car
Take the Salzburg MITTE motorway exit: follow direction Zentrum. Straight on (Münchner Bundesstraße, Ignaz-Harrer-Straße, St.Julien-Straße). Turn right into Rainerstraße. Straight on to Mirabellplatz. Then turn left onto Paris Lodron-Straße. The entrance of the Austrotel Salzburg is on Paris-Lodron-Straße 1.
By train
From the main train station towards Stadtzentrum / Schloss Mirabell: it takes 12 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by taxi (about €6,00), or 5 minutes by bus to Mirabellplatz (€1,80 to be paid to the driver).
By airplane
A taxi from the W.A. Mozart International Airport Salzburg costs about €12,00 and takes around 15 minutes. Alternatively you can take bus no. 2 to Paris-Lodron-Straße.
