Triple room very spacious. Only complaint was that the skylights didn't open so couldn't get a breeze into the room. Room got very warm (weather was hot and humid), but staff brought fans up. Great breakfast and nice staff! Hotel within a 10 minute walk to Mirabell and 15 minute walk to Old Town.

Although it was a bit on the quiet side of town and a bit far from the town center, it's pretty decent and well equipped! Especially when I do need wireless...it's provided FOC. Which is hard to find in European hotels!! I really had a pleasant stay there!! Room was big enough for a single traveller!

Overall good value for the money. The location was suitable for me (near the train station, and within 15 minutes walking to the old part of the city). When I arrived just after 1pm I was disappointed that my room was not yet ready, but they did allow me to leave my luggage and return later to check in. The bathroom with the toilet was very small, and had a minor foul odor, despite the fan being on all the time, but luckily the smell was contained within the bathroom. One of the shower doors was off its hinges, but I could work around that. The breakfast was good. There was enough variety to satisfy everyone.

Ten minutes' walk from railway station, and another ten minutes walk into town - convenient location for sightseeing. Staff speak English, and were very helpful in researching local events. Breakfast is very generous. Highly recommended - would definitely use again on another trip to Salzburg.

This is an older style hotel so if you are looking for modern holiday inn type its not for you. It has character and some charm. The staff were friendly and helpful. The extractor fan in our room sounded like an airplane, very loud, it was better to use the toilet with the light off! It is located about a 15 minute walk from the old town, not too bad. The radiator worked well and warmed the room, which was good as it snowed continuously during our stay.

A five minute stroll from the train station this hotel is ideal for a weekend stay. With free WIFI through out and an ample breakfast, what makes this hotel stand out is that you can keep your room till 12pm and breakfast is also served till 12. It's a 15 minute stroll into the old town or a 5 minute bus ride.

Overall our stay at the hotel was considered to be good value for money. The variety and quality of the breakfast (included in the price) was very good. The location to the main railway station was considered reasonable, a 10 to 15 minute walk with luggage. The ensuite with separate toilet was acceptable, however its shower unit was somewhat confining.

It was a work repair in the street during the night exactly in the front of the hotel . We asked the receptionist to change our room in order to be able to sleep a litle bit but he categorically refused us despite the fact that he has plenty of free rooms . We visited Salzburg during our circuit in Europe in our honey moon .

I wonder why Lasserhof is rated with 4 stars! The hotel is well located, the city of Salzburg is near. But rooms are dull and noisy. Room installations are mostly old. Overall the hotel is "o.k.", but it's 3 stars quality - at the lower end of the range.

The service is very bad. The hotel charged me twice for a single night. I paid cash but due to their mistake they also charge me again the cost of the night to my credit card. I kindly requested them to rescind the double charge but they disregarded my request and behaved opportunisticly and dishonestly. I do not recommned anyone to vist this hotel because of the bad service. Also take into account that the hotel is quite far from the city downtown and because the price/quality ratio is well below standards

Our first visit to Salzburg. The hotel staff were obliging, positive and thorough. Nice people to deal with. The breakfasts were excellent. For my wife and I the hotel provided B & B accommodation near the centre of the City, at a reasonable cost, afforded us free internet access, allowed us to leave our luggage there after we had cleared our room and paid our bill. This was greatly helpful enabling us to spend the rest of that day in Salzburg unencumbered by suitcases. My wife and I are 70+ years of age.

You get just what it says on the tin with this well located, small, budget hotel. Its clean and warm with spacious rooms and it prvides an ample standard continental breakfast in a pleasant if slightly short on space breakfast room. We have visited this hotel twice so that says a lot as I spend a lot of time considering where to stay and travel often. Dont expect a great deal of warmth from the reception staff though. Scant English is spoken, there is not a lot of smiling done and the slight impression gained is that the chaps who run the hotel do not thoroughly enjoy their jobs. Pity, as if they did it would make a very reasonable hotel a great one.

Our room was noisy both nights (overlooked the street) even though it appeared to be a quiet suburban area--People yelling at all hours in apt bldg across from hotel. Location - a good 15 minute stroll down to Salzsach River and the old town on the other side--ok for us but might not be for others. No entry lobby, just stairwell: reception and breakfast rooms down a flight of stairs in basement. There was also a small sitting room with a computer for internet access (free). Employees very nice, welcoming, helpful with suggestions, maps, etc. Room & bath not large, but comfortable & clean. We would not return only because we rarely, if ever, go back to the same place.

The employee only spoke Italian and did not make any effort to communicicate neither in German, nor in English and French!! My reservation was not known, fortunately another roon was still available. The next morning, after I already had checked out, I was called by somebody of the hotel asking me if I would leave that day. Apparently they found my reservation. Our room turned out to be very spacious for a triple room. The breakfast was a cold buffet which was good (cereal, bread, lunch meat, cheeses, yogurt, boiled eggs, coffee, juice, milk). I have stayed in many hotels in salzburg and have found all of them (including the youth hostels) to be extremely good value. This one, however, was a complete disappointment. The hotel itself was so-so in terms of rooms and breakfast etc but the service and competence of the staff was awful. on arrival I had to wait about five minutes for the receptionist to finsh eating her snack before she could be bothered to serve me and when she did, I felt as though I was causing her a great inconvienience! Noone bothered to tell me when or where breakfast was served, when checkout was or anything about the room and all the staff that evening never once said hello to any guest that entered the hotel. I definitely wouldnt stay there again.

Unfortunately we were not impressed by hotel lasserhof. The positives are that it is close to the train station and the breakfast is good. Our room was clean but it looked out to apartments that partied loudly late into the night. At 1:40 in the morning we were awoken by guitar playing and singing that went on for an hour. Although the hotel was clean and in walking distance from the 2 towns I was not impressed with the service. No one went out of their way to greet, chat, or offer advice of the town. Although we loved Salzburg and will be back we will not be staying at this hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station, about a 15-20 minute walk from the city center. The surrounding neighborhood gets pretty quiet on the weekends, so it can be hard to find a restaurant near the hotel, but the desk staff recommended a nice Italian restaurant for me. The rooms are small, but clean and the breakfast was good. I was traveling alone and felt safe in the hotel. My only complaint was I was awakened several times in the night by people climbing up the stairs, which were not carpeted.

The room looks/feels like mediaeval prsion room(some people may like the style) and the wooden floor has the function to anti-thief, it keeps making noisy when walking on it. We keep wondering how the hotels are rated in Europe. A four star hotel in Salzburg equals a 2 star hotel in Shanghai?!

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean, and the staff was helpful. They are happy to arrange tickets to local events, etc. It is in a quiet area (outside center, but not a bad walk) near some very good restaurants. The only small negative was our room had a very low, sloped ceiling - you really have to watch your head moving around, and the only two windows were skylights. This was not a big deal though, just wanted to mention it. Excellent value for your stay in Salzburg - we would highly recommend.

Lasserhof is on the edge of town across the river from the Old Town. Initially this may seem off-putting, but in fact it is only a 5 minute walk to the Mirabel Gardens and all the bus stops and a 10 minute, very pretty, walk to the old town. You get to see more of the city than you might otherwise do if you stayed in the touristy bit. Also, the staff can advise on restaurants and beer cellars nearby which were very good. The hotel is extremely clean and quiet. The staff speak fluent English.

My only real issue with Lasserhof was that it was billed as a 4* hotel and there is no way that it actually is. If it had been correctly billed as a 2/3*, my expectations would have been suitably lower and my satisfaction somewhat higher. Even basic things like a hair dryer were absent! Having said this, it was clean, comfortable and in a reasonable location. The staff were both friendly and helpful. Would I stay there again, probably not!
