Arthotel Blaue Gans - Salzburg

Very beautiful minimalist room with historic details. Hotel very central, lovely old building. Minor quibbles: the curtains in the room were not heavy enough to counter the streetlights. The breakfast staff seemed a bit inexperienced. The public areas seem to be used as dumping grounds for laundry etc at all times of the day.

This was my first time in Salzburg from Canada, thankfully we were able to leave our car parked all weekend and walk everywhere from our hotel room. The location is perfect, next door to Louis Vuitton, what more could a girl ask for? The restaurant in the hotel was amazing, though the server looked down on us because we couldn't speak the language and needed a little help with the menu. The front desk staff were great, providing free passes to museums, maps to major attractions and stored our bags while we shopped. They also didnt find any questions we asked silly and were able to understand English which is always a plus. The rooms were spotless and you couldnt hear a thing that was happening inside the hotel, unfortunately you are on a busy corner so you are going to hear traffic, but after walking 10 hours and a bottle of wine with dinner, we slept right through. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone to stays in the city, well priced and great service.

First stay, top-hotel, everytime again.

What tries to be a hotel provided multiple unique looks in its rooms comes off as merely quixotic. There is no way to get your luggage there if you are driving. Parking is a distance away. More importantly, the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Our room stank like some sort of spray to mask an obvious odor of cigarette smoke although we had requested a non-smoking room, and the hotel made no effort to fix the problem. They advertise high-speed internet, but it was available in only one of our two rooms. In addition, you had to get a new user ID and password every two hours. They have very heavy keys to unlock the door, and these were best left at the front desk when you went out, but when you return you may have to wait as much as 8-10 minutes for someone to show up at the desk to give you your key. This is the first hotel I have stayed in in several years that had no mechanism for automatically lockjing the door of the rooms...it had to be done with the key each time. The location is excellent, they have a good bread at breakfast, and the price is reasonable, but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location on Getreidegasse. Knowledgeable and friendly reception. A bit noisy in the early evening but quieted down by sleeping time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Salzburg and would return to the Blaue Gans

We stayed 5 days in Salzburg. The room we had in the hotel was very adequate and protected from noise . The location of the hotel in old towne Salzburg was excellent!!

The location in the Old Town of Salzburg could not have been better. The atmoshpere and food in the restaurant were superb.

The only thing was that the door numbers for each unit are made of frosted glass adn are large, so at night there is a lot of light coming into your room from the coridoor outside, can get annoying if you like to sleep in total darkness... workaround is to hang a towel over the door and shut it covering your door number. Otherwise it's an excellent hotel in a prime position... you don't want to be anywhere else!!!!!

The hotel is in a wonderful location, the staff were very helpful, the room was excellent and the food superb. What more can you say? The instructions on the website to get to the car parks was a bit confusing but the Austrian Police helped us out!

La atención de los empleados fue muy buena, como así el servicio de desayuno. Sólo puedo recomendar que falta una renovacion a las piezas, especialmente a las alfombras y paredes.
