we really liked the hotel, the staff could not have been more pleasant or more efficient. The breakfast was wonderful. The service was terrific. Our biggest complaint, really our only complaint, was the noise from the street late at night. The rooms are not air conditioned. in early September it still gets quite hot and the room retains the heat. You have to open the window. But we were on the first floor right over the street and the noise was really loud. Happy hour seem to extend into the wee hours. When the room cooled down, and we were able to close the windows, it was much better. If you are going to visit the hotel during the cold months when you have to have the windows closed, this should not be a problem. If you're traveling here in the warmer months, ask for room away from the street and certainly not the first floor.

For my three day stay in Salzburg, I wanted to stay in a property of historical character somewhere in the Altstadt. Hotel Weisse Taube did not disappoint me one bit. This family-run hotel is located just off of the Mozartplatz with short walks to just about any museum, attraction and shopping area in Salzburg’s old city. Several fine restaurants line the hotel’s street and you’re not far from gelato shops and even a cinema! The front desk staff was very friendly and more than willing to arrange tour and concert reservations to save me time. My single room, overlooking the Kaigasse and with a picturesque view of Salzburg’s imposing fortress, was very welcoming with plenty of space to move. (The hotel’s website is very honest in presenting how rooms actually appear, unlike other properties I encountered across Germany and Austria.) My only complaint is the tiny bathroom (in rm. 32) which made certain bathroom business cramped. I can imagine that bathroom size might vary from room to room, as the 14th century building’s asymmetry lends itself to uniquely dimensioned room units. There is no air conditioning, but a simple opened window provided an ample breeze in June. For those with smartphones/laptops, internet can be accessed via WIFI passwords—sold from the front desk in 24-hour increments for €1. Due to the building’s thick walls, WIFI service became spotty after my second day there, but this was only a minor inconvenience. Breakfast may be one of the greatest services at Weisse Taube. In addition to free cereal, bread, cold meats and various fruit, you can order a variety of egg dishes (for a small cost) from the friendly wait staff. You must not start your day without it. I would gladly return to this hotel, and I recommend it to others!

A well-run family business with attention to guests. Good selection of cold breakfast items. Cooked egg available for an extra charge. Room was small but adequate. Our room was at the rear of the hotel with ample light from the light well and cross-flow ventilation. No noise from the hotel itself, but noise from the hotel next door came through the light well. wifi available for a modest fee. As the hotel is located right in the old city, there are plenty of restaurants & cafes nearby. Vehicles can stand in front of the hotel to load & unload and discounted parking is a 5 minute walk away. Open windows provide the only cooling in summer. Safe & fridge in room. Hotel has lift and carries baggage.

Stayed in a room on the first floor right above the reception during mid-August. The room was facing a pedestrian-busy street and a pub but we were able to sleep well during daytime thanks to the sound proofness provided by the the thick wall and the dual window. Even when the outer tempereture was below 20 degree at night, the room was surprisingly warm (about 25-27 degree). The room does not have an air conditioner and the window must be shut to avoid the noise from the street If you easily feel hot you may need to wear a nightwear without sleeves and ask the chambermaid to keep the window open during your absense. We found the bathtub / toilet maintained very clean. Also we found the other quests of this hotel elegant in general. The only complaint is the weak / slow Wi-Fi; We could not view YouTube without frequent disruption.

Great hotel. Perfect location in old city. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless. A little noisy because our room faced the street but that's part of the fun. The bathroom was extremely small- even by European standards. That's the only downside. Loved it!

Best location in Salzburg! WiFi was a bit disappointing; they charge 1 euro for 3 hours (which is hardly worth the effort) but their login system is overly complex. The wifi also consistently dropped out thus requiring the login procedure to be restarted - very frustrating. They should just build in a wifi cost to their rate and simplify the system so that it is up to the expected standard.

This hotel is very nice for the price and had an excellent location in the old city. The staff was excellent and very helpful with all requests. The only negative was that the bathroom was quite small. The shower was OK for me but the toilet actually extended under the sink making it tough to use. The hotel also does not put out the buffet breakfast for self service so you have to ask for what you want. The service at breakfast was great so no real problem for me there. Also no air conditioning but it cooled down at night. I would stay here again based on the location and the great staff.

Excellent location on a quiet street just around the block from the Residenzplatz--where the cathedral is. Really enjoyed the breakfasts (included in the room rate)--not only was there a wide selection of food items, but it was presented so nicely: pressed linen cloths, fresh flowers, china and attentive service. Rooms are on the small side, but well thought out and plenty of room in modern bath for all our toiletries.

I had stayed at the Weisse Taube almost 30 years ago and it is still (fifth generation) being run by the same family. I was greeted by the current manager, who is the grand-daughter of my host from 1981, and she was obviously moved to hear my story of getting beaten at tennis by her grand-dad (a former Austrian champion) back then... he passed away just two years ago. The hotel has been upgraded nicely since my last visit, but it is still recognizably the same charming place it has always been. My wife and I had a lovely room and genuinely enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and our visit to lovely Heidelberg.

What a great little hotel. In the old part of town, right in the middle of all the great sites. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. This petit young women (the receptionist) came out to our car to take our bags :) But my brother was twice as big as her but she wouldn't take no for an answer. She even took them up to our room. The breakfast was nice too. While we stayed there it was raining cats and dogs but luckely the hotel had umbrellas we could borrow. The only down side was that when you arrive by car you have to get a ticket to get into the area of the old town were the hotel is. We had a bit of trouble with that even if we spoke the language. And the garage were you park the car is 5-8 minutes walk away. You can only on and offload at the hotel. But besides that it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. So charming :)

The hotel has an ideal location, just around the corner from the Mozartplatz, Residenzplatz, Judengasse, in other words, smack dab in the middle of the old town. Wonderful for pedestrians. Parking facility is a bit distant, but then, that should not surprise, since the hotel is in the pedestrian zone. Perhaps I should "confess" that I have known the hotel for decades, have stayed there before its renovation and was therefore quite delighted with the "new" version.

The way the hotel that presented on your site seemed to indicate there was a garage included in the price quoted. But when we got to the hotel, we were told we would have to pay for a public parking. We refused and eventually they relented and didn't charge us the 3 days parking fees. The hotel is an old building that definitely needs some improvement: painting, cleaning and modernizing. The Hotel Weisse Taube was excellent. It was situated in the center of the Old Town and very easy to get to all the important tourist attractions. The hotel staff was very friendly and willing to help with any questions and travel information that you might need. Julia,a staff member, was always smiling, and surely made everyone feel welcome. The hotel was much more than I expected and I highly recommend it. I am a senior solo traveler and I was very pleased with this hotel and I most definitely would like to be a guest at the Weisse Taube in the future.

The location is perfect for Altstadt and the staff and family owners most welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Our favorite meals were at Stiftskeller St. Peter located very close by.

Excellent location, very nice hotel, right in the Old Town, Salzburg...we really liked it, and would go back tomorrow. You could spend more money, but you wouldnt do any better.

The hotel itself and the surrounding areas were very nice and comfortable, and in the middle of the old town. we could walk everywhere and staff was very helpful helping us pick the right tours and visits. Although overall our stay was really nice, I would not recommended it for people travelling by car. It is situated in a street (Kaigasse) only accessible by foot or by taxi (you need a special access card which you get ... once inside the hotel). After an hour long search of Salzburg, we realized there was no way in, walked to the hotel, then back to pick up the car and drop off the luggage, and then back again from the parking lot.

Stay. Stay. Stay. This is a great Hotel. The staff is amazing and went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was more than acceptable. The location is near all the sights and very relaxing. I will stay here again and advise everyone I see to do the same.

We found this hotel -- fabulously located in the Old Town and well surrounded by the principal sites, spacious cafes, and plenty of restaurants -- to be clean, rustic in its charm, and very welcoming. The staff was frinedly, helpful, and spoke excellent Enlgish. The rooms were spacious, decently equipped, and quiet. Our sole reservation were the small and simple bathrooms. Overall, a great place at a good price. Would surely stay here again.

The directions we received online were terrible. Also having to park our car in a public garage became a hassle as we were checking out. The location of the parking was not appealing either. The front desk clerk was helpful but not very friendly, however breakfast the next morning was great; friendly service and tasteful food.

The only drawback to our room was the noise level. It overlooked the street, and revelers were passing through till 2-3 AM. Personally I think all the other benefits (particularly the location) outweigh this, but someone more sensitive might disagree. However, any Old Town hotel room facing the street (which most do) will probably have the same trouble.

Hotel has a good central location in the old town within easy walking distance of all attractions. Staff were extremely helpful & courteous.Bedroom was very clean & spacious, although decor of bathroom was a little dated. Breakfast was superb. Overall very good value.

An excellent location. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Rooms are clean, tidy & quiet but a little small which I think simply reflects the age of the building in that part of the City.

The hotel promised a parking service [when i asked 10 Days before],finally they had no intentions [and are not alowed to do parking services, as they said!]. The employees incl. the owner don´t care very much about customers´ whishes.

This family owned hotel is very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Very well located for all the sights of Salzburg, best possible location just off Mozartplaz in the Old Town. Our room was rather small and looked straight into the opposite room, however it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and served to your table. Would recommend this hotel to all.

Excellent location in the heart of old-city Salzburg. Near churches with the every quarter hour "dong" all night long - and the inner courtyard rooms are noisy from an adjacent restaurant. If you can avoid the noise, a great place to stay.

The Weisse Taube is a family-run hotel located two blocks from the Salzburg cathedral. The bedroom and bathroom were both large. The cost included a nice breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient. I thought it was exactly the right place to stay in Salzburg.
