I had stayed at the Weisse Taube almost 30 years ago and it is still (fifth generation) being run by the same family. I was greeted by the current manager, who is the grand-daughter of my host from 1981, and she was obviously moved to hear my story of getting beaten at tennis by her grand-dad (a former Austrian champion) back then... he passed away just two years ago. The hotel has been upgraded nicely since my last visit, but it is still recognizably the same charming place it has always been. My wife and I had a lovely room and genuinely enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and our visit to lovely Heidelberg.

This was exactly what we wanted - a comfortable but not grand hotel right in the middle of the old town of Salzburg. The staff were friendly and very informative, the room was very quiet (with a proper bath in the en suite) and located on a charming courtyard. Given the location it was very good value for money. We very much enjoyed our stay there.

What a great little hotel. In the old part of town, right in the middle of all the great sites. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. This petit young women (the receptionist) came out to our car to take our bags :) But my brother was twice as big as her but she wouldn't take no for an answer. She even took them up to our room. The breakfast was nice too. While we stayed there it was raining cats and dogs but luckely the hotel had umbrellas we could borrow. The only down side was that when you arrive by car you have to get a ticket to get into the area of the old town were the hotel is. We had a bit of trouble with that even if we spoke the language. And the garage were you park the car is 5-8 minutes walk away. You can only on and offload at the hotel. But besides that it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. So charming :)

The hotel location was great and not difficult to locate from the Mozartplatz bus station. The staff who attended to us was really helpful and has answered all our queries regarding the transportation and location to the places we wanted to go.

I found the staff most helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really great and served. My room was small, but most comfortable. It had a great desk so I could sit comfortably when not in bed. It was very central and convenient. There was a computer available for use--the lobby was very comfortable.

This was the first time my husband and I had stayed at this Hotel. The staff were wonderful and friendly and very helpful. This hotel is in the old part and within walking distance to lots of things as we did not have a car. The staff recommended places to eat which were great. Breakfast was included in the price and we thought was good value with nice variety. The rooms were a good size, had good heating and cleaned everyday. I loved the idea of having a electric jug in the room to make a cup of tea as anyone coming from Australia would understand this. We were there in the middle of Oct 2008 and thought the price we paid was very good value. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definately stay there again.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the old city! We could not have asked for a better location. Melanie welcomed us when we arrived. She was courteous, informed, and just lovely! She personally showed us to our room, answered all our questions and as a result, we felt that we had been personally welcomed into their family!

Albergo piuttosto carino e confortevole.

This hotel has a certain charm and the location could not be better. We could easily walk to all the sites, including the castle/fortress, Mozart's house, etc. The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. The breakfast was very good and is included in the price. The room was large by European standards though ours was a little dark. Our stay here was pleasant but short and I will stay here again should I return to Salzburg.

My daughter and I stayed here in May. The staff was wonderful--the best we encountered during our two weeks in Europe. The hotel has an ideal location, just around the corner from the Mozartplatz, Residenzplatz, Judengasse, in other words, smack dab in the middle of the old town. Wonderful for pedestrians. Parking facility is a bit distant, but then, that should not surprise, since the hotel is in the pedestrian zone. Perhaps I should "confess" that I have known the hotel for decades, have stayed there before its renovation and was therefore quite delighted with the "new" version.

The staff at this hotel were amazingly lovely and helpful. The location was very central to the Old Town and particularly good for the Christmas Market, however, this meant it was very noisy. We had trouble sleeping at night due to the noise as we were on the first floor on the street side. We would definitely return but would request a room away from the street.

The way the hotel that presented on your site seemed to indicate there was a garage included in the price quoted. But when we got to the hotel, we were told we would have to pay for a public parking. We refused and eventually they relented and didn't charge us the 3 days parking fees. The hotel is an old building that definitely needs some improvement: painting, cleaning and modernizing. Otherwise, it is very well located, very quiet. We definitely wouldn't go back there because we felt they tried to deceive us.

so so. Certainly adequate and in a good location, but thought a little shabby especially the bathroom. Was happy to leave the room. Only functional. Nothing to enjoy about room or bath. Breakfast room also dreary and breakfast the poorest we had anywhere in central Europe. We stayed at similar priced hotels in central Europe including Vienna and this was our most disappointing experience. However, the location couldn't be beat

I stayed at the Weisse Taube at the end of April 2007. The staff was always helpful with questions. The room was clean and organized. I called to the front desk to ask for extra towels, and it took, literally, one minute and there was a knock a the door with a smiling face. The breakfast included in the price of the room was outstanding. The choices of cereal, yogurt, fruit, beverages etc. was above and beyond my expectations. I would highly recomend this hotel for its nightly charge being moderate for the services provided!

The Hotel Weisse Taube was excellent. It was situated in the center of the Old Town and very easy to get to all the important tourist attractions. The hotel staff was very friendly and willing to help with any questions and travel information that you might need. Julia,a staff member, was always smiling, and surely made everyone feel welcome. The hotel was much more than I expected and I highly recommend it. I am a senior solo traveler and I was very pleased with this hotel and I most definitely would like to be a guest at the Weisse Taube in the future.

The hotel itself and the surrounding areas were very nice and comfortable, and in the middle of the old town. we could walk everywhere and staff was very helpful helping us pick the right tours and visits. Although overall our stay was really nice, I would not recommended it for people travelling by car. It is situated in a street (Kaigasse) only accessible by foot or by taxi (you need a special access card which you get ... once inside the hotel). After an hour long search of Salzburg, we realized there was no way in, walked to the hotel, then back to pick up the car and drop off the luggage, and then back again from the parking lot.

We found this hotel -- fabulously located in the Old Town and well surrounded by the principal sites, spacious cafes, and plenty of restaurants -- to be clean, rustic in its charm, and very welcoming. The staff was frinedly, helpful, and spoke excellent Enlgish. The rooms were spacious, decently equipped, and quiet. Our sole reservation were the small and simple bathrooms. Overall, a great place at a good price. Would surely stay here again.

The directions we received online were terrible. Also having to park our car in a public garage became a hassle as we were checking out. The location of the parking was not appealing either. The front desk clerk was helpful but not very friendly, however breakfast the next morning was great; friendly service and tasteful food.

The only drawback to our room was the noise level. It overlooked the street, and revelers were passing through till 2-3 AM. Personally I think all the other benefits (particularly the location) outweigh this, but someone more sensitive might disagree. However, any Old Town hotel room facing the street (which most do) will probably have the same trouble.
