Had a nice stay at studio de campo. This is the place to stay if you want a centrally located, clean, comfortable place to stay. Great for young couples. Breakfast was awesome. It was perfect for us. Find a different place if ac (the fans and a nice breeze were great for us) and a tv are important to you.

I just went to Salvador with three other girls and stayed at the Studio Do Carmo for three days. We were impressed with the level of service we received - the owner and all of the staff were extremely helpful, as we did not speak any Portugese and were not familiar with the culture/customs of the area. We met a few of the hotel staff, including Giovanni (owner), Amelie and Emeraldo (security). They were all extremely helpful to us and took us around town helping us get situated. Rooms were very clean, spacious, and full of great art (which, you can incidentally buy as the hotel doubles as an art gallery of some sort.) Every morning, breakfast was brought to our room - talk about a great way to start the day! We were given fresh juices, fruits, bread, and dense yet delicious pastries along with cheese and meat plates. Overall, I was extremely happy and impressed with my stay here. I highly recommend this hotel for all people looking to stay in Salvador. Hope this helps!

Hotel Studio do Carmo is right in the center of the historical center, so beautiful building, amazing views, and within minutes of everything! Great cafe in front of it, but breakfast doesnt really leave you hungry for lunch at all! All the staff is helpfull, small hotel so individual service and attention, a nice stop on our Brazil discovery holidays!

It's definitely 'the place' to be in Salvador, especially Tuesday night when there's a free concert at the stairway right across the street (room 1 offers a special view). Access to the main sights is very easy, all the main churches and museums are in a walkable distance (15 minutes or less), restaurants and bars are close too. The rooms are very spacious, an air-con would destroy the colonial atmosphere of the wood-planked rooms with high ceilings. Breakfast is good.

The hotel is very nice, with big rooms and tasteful decoration. It was practical to be right in the center, and to be able to wander around the galeries in the old streets at night, something special! With the music....The staff was great, pointing us out what to do or where to eat, fantastic recommendations!! And breakfast in the morning...nothing to say!

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at Studio do Carmo. The room we stayed in was very spacious and tastefully furnished. The breakfast served in the room was very nice too (we particularly enjoyed the tapioca and coconut dessert as well as the fresh fruit juices). The owners and staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly (thanks guys!). Studio do Carmo is conveniently located in the beautiful historical centre of Salvador (Pelourinho) but be aware of pickpockets and be ready to be constantly harrassed by street vendors.

We had an excellent stay at the 4* hotel Studio do Carmo: the place is beautiful, and the rooms are comfortable, with nice furniture and decoration. And we were in the heart of the city, yet we could go back to our quiet space in no time. Breakfast was delicious and fun, with something unknown and tasty almost everyday! And everybody was really nice and helpful, especially in giving tips on the city.

It should be a 4 star-hotel? I would say 2 1/2. Not even 3 stars. It was qite nice. The roums were very nice. But terribly loud. Because of wooden floors, you hear everything. When the telephon was ringing downstairs at the reception, we thougt, it was ours. For one night it is a good idea to stay there. But no more. Breakfast was good. But don´t leave any kind of food anywhere in the room ( besides refrigerator ), suddenly there will be a lot of small insects !
