Hotel Regio - Santa Marta de Tormes, Salamanca

This is a very large hotel which seems to cater to weddings and functions. The cafeteria was enormous and very impersonal. Restaurants quite expensive but good local places to eat just down the street towards Santa Marta. Excellent bus service to Salamanca - picks up at the hotel door.

I stayed at Hotel Regio during a three week vacation in France, Spain and Portugal. Other than not being able to find the hotel, even with GPS, it was an enjoyable stay at Hotel Regio. The room was spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location with easy access to the city by bus peaceful location however let down by the quality of food arrived from santander went to bar food almos unedible, best bet is togo to the cafe attached to campsite much cheaper and edible. other disapointment was that swiming pool not open

Driving from north of France to south of Portugal, this hotel was a very good place to spend a night with my family. we leave after a great breakfast and an hour in the nice swimming pool. excellent halting place.

It was perfect

I stayed in Regio for one night only, but i think it is perfect for who is traveling by car. It is realy near Salamanca and stays in a very quiet city. The breakfest is not so nice but is enough. I recommend.

Todo muy bien. Cerca de Salamanca, pero es necesario el coche. El hotel tiene muchas habitaciones, pero sólo 10 con cama de matrimonio. La piscina está bastante bien.

Hotel is about 4 km outside the city on a non-descript road. We had a car and when we visited the city, we parked on the periphery. Depending on the time of year of your visit, or your interest/ ability to walk, this might present a problem, but was not troubling to us. The hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Marble lobbies and bathroom, nice bed and spacious room, hardwood floor, terrace, free internet service in the lobby and plenty of shaded parking. The hotel is also a campground (adjacent), which offers use of their large swimming pool. We had coffee in the morning at the bar, did not have any meals. One notable plus for us was a policy of no smoking at the bar, so we were able to enjoy our coffee sans the ever-present smoke. Given the cost of our room (50 Euros), I had no problem staying outside the city. As it was shoulder season (May) and relatively quiet, we visited Salamanca, came back to the hotel to rest and then went back in to the city for dinner, this time parking closer, perhaps a 15 minute drive.

Double room,quiet place to stay out of season.Difficult to find though as directions were confusing.Staff spoke some English and the service and food in the restaurant was good.

Hotel is ideal for motorists. It is located close to the expressway leading to Madrid. Place is on the outskirts of Salamanca, about 20 min away from the historical city center. Place is clean and elegant. Breakfast is reasonable. There is good Internet connection; CNN and BBC stations are also available. Only negative is the dour-faced manager who appears unwelcoming, and curt in answering queries.

Very nice hotel and good relation between price and quality. Our room very clean and spaciousness excellent also staff in the hotel is very professional we are very glad for our experience in the Hotel Regio (Salamanca).

I did not have any meals at Regio because I was out most of the day but the service and rooms were excellent. The hotel however is far from the city centre and I was contuously ripped off by the taxi drivers taking me from at to Salamancar city centre.
