Very easy to get to and to park. The surrounding streets have plentiful parking spaces although not the most picturesque setting however as far as noise is concerned it was superb. It was fiesta week & the noise level rose during the day which is to be expected during fiestas but we heard nothing during our 3 day stay.We had an extremely enjoyable stay & hopefully will return.

My wife & I stayed here twice during a period of two months. The first time was whilst travelling south and on that occasion we stayed in one of the suites which was outstanding and which consisted of 3 separte rooms being a bathroom with a shower & jacuzzi bath, a bedroom and also a huge lounge. Both the bedroom and the lounge each provided access to a private terrace which expanded either side of the corner of the hotel building and offered wonderful views of Salamanca's cathedral. On the second occasion that we stayed there, we were travelling back north. We stayed in a standard double room which was still excellent with large twin beds pushed together. The staff were lovely and very helpful. A super choice for anyone wishing to explore the charms that the city has to offer. I would certainly recommend this hotel to my friends & family.

Receptionist made a disparaging comment about the English not speaking Spanish as we were checking out. This was very annoying as he was talking in French to the couple who had checked out just before us. Also, although my Spanish is not good, I had greeted the receptionist in Spanish and asked for the bill. Don't work in an international hotel if you don't like English speaking clients. That said location was near to Salamanca city and the walk over the bridge was excellent. There is a park nearby and the river is near, too

Adequate parking in the vicinty and staff very pleasant and helpfull. Noisy guests but fortunately not during the night. Perfect location, but remember Salamanca is on a hill. Don't forget the classic car and Art Deco museum.

We consciously deceide not to stay in the historic centre. We were on a driving tour and wanted easy access to the countryside. However the hotel is 10 minute walk from the historic centre across a pedestrian only Roman bridge. The hotel is very comfortable and has a poolfor the siesta break. The staff were always on hand to man the bar or provide teas and coffees. The laundry service was very efficient (and reasonably priced). Very good breakfast selection. The restaurant did not appear to be open (ealy Sept) but with so many eating palces in the city that was no loss. Dont try and drive into the old city this is a s close as you can get without taking on the tourist train! Dont be put off by the external apperance of the hotel - or the garage opposite. An excellent touring stop hotel.

Overall very good value for money hotel. It is very easy to walk to the center over the old bridge, and the views are great. Neighborhood is dead, but who cares? Breakfast buffet is very good and worth the 8.5 euros. Our reservation quoted a price of 7.5 euros, but since we had it once I did not argue. Only drawback was that the pool was not open, and given the weather in late May it was disappointing.

The hotel was in a great location and just a short walking distance to the city center. My wife and I are both in our sixties and had no trouble getting to Plaza Mayor or any other point in the city. Only problem we had was with the GPS locating the hotel; the address did not register so we put in Puente Romano bridge and it took us right to the area where the hotel was located.

Very well situated on the old roman bridge which leads to the old town. One wouldn't want to be in the old town as it is a noisy and buzzing one. Great to be just across the bridge.

We booked the hotel online a day or so ahead of arrival and believe that we got a very competitive rate for a hotel of such quality. The hotel is in a quiet area, easily accessible by car, although only about 10 minutes walk to the centre of town, cathedral, university, plaza etc. We would have been happy to park in the street, but were returning the rental that day. We walked back to the hotel from the rental office, near the main station. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Our rating of 'type and number of rooms' = not relevant.

Essentially more of a business type hotel but we chose it as parking available and just across old roman bridge into old Salamanca where driving really isn't a good idea within the old city. It proved a great choice for this reason and staff were very friendly - advised on safe area for parking (there is secure parking on site also for a fee but when I asked if was safe to park on the street I was kindly told where would be a better choice for on street parking which was great). Would definitely recommend it for those driving as was quite easy to find and from there an easy walk into the centre although is quite uphill! If I didn't have a car might consider other optiosn within the old city but in all hotel did not disappoint.

If you are traveling by car to Salamanca this is the place to stay. Easy to find upon arrival, plenty of on-street parking and just a short, beautiful walk across the Roman Bridge to the heart of Salamanca. The hotel is definitely of 4 star quality and the staff was very welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Spacious, clean, well appointed rooms; easy access by car and easy parking on street; an easy walk to the old city center across the river (10 min max). Front desk personnel was less than welcoming, but otherwise our stay was very good.

Lovely huge room, and staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Free internet which was great. Location is slightly out of the main part of town, with few restaurants and public transport not the easiest. However it was only a short stroll over the bridge (15 mins) to the town, so this was well worth walking to for food.

We stayed in nine locations on our road trip to northern Portugal and eastern Spain; but this was the choice I agonized over most. In the end, I was happy with my selection. The Puente Romano is a business-like hotel, located across the historic bridge, ten minutes from the main square of Salamanca. On arrival, our room had not been vacuumed, but a polite request to the front desk soon rectified this. I was also grateful to the concierge for his help in locating a photographic shop so I could replace the camera that tragically expired in neighbouring Ciudad Rodrigo. Our room was generous for the price, and the bathroom particularly spacious and impressive. The beds were comfortable, and the hotel is in a quiet area, so we slept well on both nights. Air conditioning was barely needed, but lowered the temperature unobtrusively. Other reviewers appear fixated on the on-street parking. I decided to leave our vehicle on the side street beside the hotel, where it was visible from our balcony, mostly in shade, and was unmolested throughout our stay.

Room was large and comfortable. Breakfasts were very good. If you are arriving by car the hotel is very difficult to access due to many one way streets. Once there it is a lovely walk across the ancient Roman bridge into Salamanca.

This hotel offered a comfortable room in a quiet part of Salamanca. Located only a few hundred metres from the Roman Bridge, the old section of Salamanca was only a short walk away. My only disappointment was that the restaurant was not open on the night my wife and I stayed there (Sunday). Breakfast the next morning was quite satisfactory, offering the usual buffet choices.

We stayed here in May 2009. Very nice hotel-clean, spacious. Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast standard buffet -type, but very pleasant and fresh. There was a nice looking patio and swimming pool, but not open yet. It looked as if there were free Internet access in the lounge. The hotel is quite close to a busy road; there was no sound during the bulk of the night, and what traffic noise there was didn't worry us, but I can imagine it might some people. The restaurant wasn't open, and there was no obvious place to eat around the hotel, so a trek into the city was needed. The Roman bridge from which the hotel takes its name is very close, and really quite long; there are stupendous views of the Cathedral as you cross, and then a bit of an uphill slog to get into the city centre. It was no big deal really, but if you were already tired from a day's sightseeing, having to trek back in in the evening (I wouldn't recommend taking a car into Salamanca)was a bit of a pain. There was good on-street free parking near the hotel; I don't know how it would be later in the season. Salamanca itself is glorious, and we would happily stay in the hotel again.

This is a 4 star hotel located in a bad neighborhood. Inside, nothing really amazing, just average quality and services, including the breakfast. Overall, I feel this hotel does not deserve 4 starts; in my view is a 3 star hotel. Another issues that bothered me si that they seem to have no clue as to what a non-smoking room is. More precisely, although I asked for a non-smoking room at the time of reservation, I got a heavily smelling room which was later changed (at my reuqest) w/ another one smelling equally bad. Finally, I gave up and had to brave that smoking atmosphere for the entire night. I would defintely recommend to look for a better deal.

Travel with my husband. Hotel in a great location with wonderful views of Salamanca. Well placed. Other buildings around were in process of renovation or building but no noise or disruption. Closer than the Paradore, which is behind the Hotel. Marble was main material and this made for a very clean, spotless environment. Pool area was small and could have done with some cleaning due to fallout from building. No pool attendant but this could probably be due to late season. Breakfast adequate but not great at 7.50 euros. No other meals or snacks available even though Tapas menue in room. This was not available. Overall a Hotel to re-visit due to very good value and location coupled with very pleasant rooms and public rooms. More staff and serving food could raise this hotel to excellent overall.

Rooms were functional. Breakfast was way overpriced for the quality of it. The hotel is run on a minimum of staff who are very competent, although this means there is basically no room service should you need it. The walk into town is uphill and strenuous and would not suit older or disabled people. However, all in all a reasonable no-frills hotel.

The buffet breakfast was superb. The hotel was high quality particularly for the price. The condition of the room was pristine showing no signs of wear and tear. I would like to return to Salamanca to see it properly as opposed to just passing through and I would definitely return to this hotel. Our evening meal at a nearby restaurant was first class with delicious food and good service. The only suggestion of improvement is that we were not asked if we wished to put the car in the garage so we didn't know there was one.
