Concordo con un commento precendete, meglio utilizzarlo come motel che come Hotel. Per un fine settimana di sole e mare è perfetto, anche se l'accesso al mare non è dei più facili. Il prezzo è elevato rispetto a quanto offerto. Sinceramente non mi dispiace esserci stato, ma non ci tornerò.

The hotel is beatifully situated at the sea side, but it is a pitty that the staff is not more focused on customer needs. We arrived in the afternoon and could not get any snack from the pool bar, and we had a problem getting a table for dinner. We finally got a table at 21 hours and had a three course dinner served in half an hour. Flexibility is not a word known at Sol e Mar. Where is the management ?

The position of the hotel is fantastic, but it is not enough to justify actual price ! The hotel is aged and the level of the service provided is low. This was my 9th time, in the last 6 year, to the Sol e mar. Maurizio

more or less I agree with other comments: breathtaking place and view (absolutely reccommended sea view, garden view is non-existent), but tired rooms and furniture, needing renewing. More than decent bathroom (without bidet, as usual in France). All vanishes when you open the window and face the see (no beach, only shores - absolutely unsuitable for children, apart the swimming pool)

Our Room with "Garden View" had actually no view at all - next time we book Sea View, it is surely the better choice and then we expect to rate our overall stay as perfect.

Getting there is a bit of a challenge as you need to drive through a lot of beachside/tourist traffic through other towns / suburbs from the motorway. (We came from the west). We finally found the hotel, with no wrong turns. Parking is OK - there is a secure parking area next to the hotel, although we didn't know this on arrival, so jammed into a tight parking spot initially. Reception service was fine. The room was pretty average, but probably of 3 star quality. No minibar. Plastic cups rather than glasses (which we've come to realise is a real differentiator between 3 star and 4 star establishments, but a major issue for those of us who enjoy our wine). Signs of tiredness in the room maintenance, tho' quite functional. The best thing was the verandah (we were on the floor above the pool) looking down into the pool, and 5-10 metres away was the ocean. You can sleep with the doors to the balcony open and listen to the waves, which was great. Slightly tatty table tennis, pooltable on pool level, but works. Bar / lunch service at pool ok. Restaurant is good but a bit expensive - but what the hell, you're on the coast, relax and enjoy. In summary, location / outlook great, room facility ok but a bit tired and tatty, restaurant a bit overpriced for what it offers. (And if you are driving from St Raphael to Nice airport, be aware that there is no short cut to a motorway, so you've got to drive along the winding coast road most of the way)

There is no beach anywhere near the hotel and the "garden view" is an euphemism for "no view".

Had a wonderful stay here. What a view from our balcony!!!! magnificent. Quality of pools leaved a bit to be desired, but it did not stop us enjoying ourselves at this beautiful little place in the picturesque San Raphael.

It met my expectation. Location was wonderful, service was ok, dizzying speed of the elevators, be prepared to use the stairs a lot. No internet available, although staff somewhat helpful with directions. Food was excellent. I would go there again and recommend it to others as well.

The quality of service at the hotel aws not good. The room, hallway and other surroundings threw me for a loop. I had invations of this hotel being a very beautiful place, but it wasn't so.

On the plus side the location of the hotel is excellent with superb views out over the Mediterranean. On the minus side in my opinion the hotel is 'tired' and in need of refurbishment (The air conditioning was not working in 2 of our 3 rooms). However the staff were attentive and helpful.

Neither of the pools were fill when we were there late May. Very dissappointing and several other guests left because of this.

This would be a lovely place to stay when it is in full swing. We arrived in early May to find the two pools empty and the rest of the first floor entertainment area not open yet. Great location on the south; rooms need an update, but get a balony room, the view is stunning. We will go back when it's in full season. Concierge is very polite and helpful. Lots of parking. 15 minutes from St. Rapheal and Frejus.
