About Hotel La Grande Bastide

exterior Hotel La Grande Bastide exterior The hotel La Grande Bastide is located in a 18thC country house just outside the famous village of St-Paul-de-Vence. The house was renovated with traditional materials like stone and wood, which combined with modern design, blends well.

The building has solid, stone walls on one side and pale pink-washed walls with green shutters on the other, and it set in an oasis-like garden filled with There is a smart swimming-pool and two sun terraces, where a copious breakfast and light snacks are served. Breakfast could also be served in the room or on the balcony.

The spacious pool house, tastefully equipped with a happy mix of furnishing with comfortably sofas in front of an open fire, is certainly an excellent spot for having an aperitif. There is also a small beamed sitting area off the reception.

Hotel La Grande Bastide guest room suite Provençal-style bedrooms are decorated in soft, pastel shades of blue, pink or apricot with bold fabrics, and have pretty painted wooden or stylish wrought-iron furniture.

The marble bathrooms are equipped with bath or Jacuzzi and/or shower, hair-dryer and some of them with separate toilet. The standard rooms have their own terrace leading onto the garden, the Superior rooms have a balcony; all of them have a panoramic view of Saint-Paul and some of them have also view of the sea.

photo in web seems that hotel is bigger and more luxury than real one. But hotel is quite as a small and comfort hotel. View is looking to st. paul but my room was on the ground floor. No window. only view from the entrance door.

La Grande Bastide is like paradis. We stayed already the second time at La Grande Bastide in a standard room, garden side, with panoramic views to the old town of St. Paul. Beautifully refurnished and new bathrooms with a jacuzzi were the highlights. A nice breakfast is served until late. Many restaurants from gourmet to bistrot style are available around the hotel. An ideal spot for visiting nearby cities like Cannes, Nizza, Monte Carlo, Antibes etc. Just wunderful. Rita Müller, Switzerland

A lovely clean hotel with charming helpful staff but very close to busy main road between Nice and St Paul. Dangerous access to and from main road . Road very noisy when relaxing by hotel pool.No restaurant but 2 good ones within walking distance.

Very friendly staff, charming garden. Absolutely lovely hotel! The view from the garden was so beautiful. One thing desirable is the bath tub. Whenever we took shower, it ends up with being "watery" all over the floor. Sometimes it was quite dangerous.

we were on holiday from ireland, we chose not to hire a car as it can be stressful enough on narrow french roads! we wanted to stay in st paul de vence as we visted there before however la g.b. is quite a distance from st p. de v, especially if u have taken a bus, and the bus refuses to stop close by. once you arrive u appear to be held 'captive'....eg rip off prices...bottled water 8euro, no restuarant for dinner, breakfast, extremely simple for the price charged...but there is no alternative.This should be made known by the website as many tourists choose not to hire cars when on holiday. SP de V was a good 20 min walk on a very dangerous road.
