On arrival there was a smell of what I thought was a strong disinfectant in the room, which thankfully dispersed by evening. The hotel location is in the city and near inns and bars, so I expected some noise, but not from the drunken guests arriving in the early hours.

Had a lovely stay and found the owners wonderfully friendly and helpful. Marie-Angel helped us order pizza, gave us plates and a tray and accessories to enjoy the meal in our room. Even when the whole city area had to be evacuated (due to a gas line break) for an entire afternoon and evening, she handled the situation with warmth and grace, even while under stress as a business owner with a fully booked hotel of guests who weren't able to go back to their rooms. We would stay here again.

Great value, a short walk from the wonderful town centre. The welcome could not have been more friendly. Easy off-street parking for cars. Only down-side was a fairly noisy party of teenagers getting back at 3.00am. Would happily stay here again.

Most helpful and lent us a French dictionary when we lost ours. Very central to the sites and quite for such a busy area.

I stayed at the Alive Quebec de Rouen for five nights when I had just arrived in France to begin my year abroad and I couldn't have had a better a welcome! My room was rather small but clean and cheerful (yellow bedspread and lilac walls!) and I looked forward to returning to it after a long day. The hotel owners (i believe it is one family) were SO super friendly and helpful. They printed out a bus map for me so I could find my way around Rouen and answered all my many questions. The woman who works there is lovely-always ready to chat and there was no problem at all when i decided to leave two days earlier than planned because i was moving into my apartment. This hotel is not to everyone's tastes; the bathroom was very small, the walls were pretty thin (i heard my neighbor snore), and although it is only five minutes walk from the centre, the road itself is not in the old-fashioned pictureque style of Rouen Centre. However, I would definitely recommend that anyone looking for very reasonably priced, clean, friendly accomodation in Rouen stay here!

Accoglienza molto cortese, nulla da eccepire. Ma l'albergo non è un granchè e si trova in una posizione poco centrale.

great value for money ,secure parking and a good breakfast ,everything on hand so left the car parked for 4 days, great info from owners , good english and very useful tips on restaurants plenty of literature and info on local and day trip attractions.u get what u pay for and whilst this hotel has no bar and no real chill out area it is ideal for stop over and short stay, reception shuts at 9pm but u gain entry via electronic key pad.no hesitation in recomending ,lift is small and goes up to 3 of 4 floors.but still ok for 2 people and luggage. enjoy!

Bathroom was poor state of repair. No shower curtain and not particularly clean. Location of hotel is good for access to centre of Rouen but hotel itself on back street and no parking available to check-in. I had to leave car double parked to find out how to access booked parking in hotel.

Very heartly welcoming, friendly people, they spoke a fine English. Room very small, but with a balcony, which I didn´t expect. Bathroom also very small, only with a sliding door to the main room; but everything very clean. Breakfast fine, everything you needed. Save parking in a closed court. The location itself was in easy walking distance to all the important places. All together good worth for easy money - would return there everytime.

Not all questions can be answered competently (e.g. Type and number of available roooms). No meals were taken nearby. We visited relatives. I am very familiar with Rouen, a city in which I lived for 10 years as a youth.

From the time we arrived the hotel managers were extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a parking spot in the coutyard, not on the street. They spoke good English! They offered us a choice of rooms to look at. They answered all of our questions plus gave us helpful hints as to where to eat and how to get to. The service could not have been better than this hotel and their kind managers offered us. We wished we stayed there longer than one night. We truly enjoyed our stay there. Location is easy walking distance to Rouen center, which is wonderful. Hotel is on a side street--quiet, but not picturesque. Very friendly staff. We arrived just after 9 pm and had to phone for entry code. Also heat wave, so absence of air conditioning was a bit trying--but we appreciated the elevator!

The Alive de Quebec was a clean and comfortable place to stay. We received a superb welcome and our room was fine. Our hosts could not have been more helpful in helping us sort out a problem we had encountered en route and the restaurant they recommended was equally welcoming and friendly. The hoel's amenities are basic but entirely adequate and this is reflected in the extremely reasonable bill - we paid 102 GBP for three nights' accommodation and breakfast for two. Above all, Mary Angel, her husband and staff will give you the finest welcome in France.

This is a basic hotel, but the room was impeccably clean and the proprietors could not have been more helpful. Excellent value for money. I would use the hotel again, but not Venere, the booking site. Their map showed a location for the hotel approximately 1 mile away from where it actually was. The translation of directions was so poor as to render them meaningless. Although the booking was confirmed the hotel had no record of us. Fortunately a room was made up for us very quickly. Book the hotel but find another booking agent.

The Hotel Quebec is a reasonably priced , well located small family hotel within 5 minutes walking distance of the historic centre of Rouen. The owners Marie Angel and her husband Philip are very friendly, and make all their guests feel extremely welcome (Maries' smile and laugh would brighten up the dullest day) . Both speak excellent english and are more than happy to help out if you have any difficulties. The rooms are comfortably furnished and the kingsize bed provided a very restful nights sleep. The en suite facilities are adequate, a bit cosy in the shower if you are on the large side, with the added bonus of multijets on the shower. The hotel has limited secure parking available and it is well worth the small extra charge. I would suggest requesting a space when booking, however if there are no places available there is a lot of street parking(charge) but as in any large city places are at a premium. The excellent buffet breakfast, present rate 5.50 euros, is to be highly recommended. Unlimited supplies of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and the usual breads (freshly baked), preserves, yoghurts, cheese and cereals make a welcome start to the day. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel with outstanding views then this is not the place for you (but you should still give it a try) - but if you want a warm, welcoming and extremely friendly establishment ,conveniently located, with secure parking, clean comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast then you need look no further. We will certainly stay there again when we are in the area.

This is an excellent value for money hotel which I would recommend to anyone staying in the Rouen area. The proprietors are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The only down side is the smoking area in reception is right next to the breakfast room, which mean if you are unlucky, you get a smokey croissant. Also we found the toilet area in our room a little on the small side. Despite this its definately worth a visit.
