Accommodating staff upon check-in and check-out; room was spacious for European standards and quite clean; couldn't figure or get television to work (no power running to television), but not a big deal as we were only in room to sleep. Overall, excellent location (within the City Walls); would definitely stay at property again when returning to Rothenberg.

This place was great! The owner made us feel as if we were a guest in his home, yet was extremely knowledgeable and professional. THe room was nice and cushy, just what we needed after weeks of cardboard box type beds and cold rooms that seem to be the norm for moderate to budget price hotels in Europe. Also, it was easy to find and a 20 minute walk from the train station, and really close to the shops and attractions in Rothenburg. Excellent value for the money.

This is a wonderful small hotel, just a few steps from the center of Rothenburg. The breakfast was a very nice European breakfast in a pleasant area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Delightful hotel right in the centre of the old city. Beautifully presented, and delightful to sit on the bak terrace on a sunny day. Horse and carriage through the old city a must do.

This is a lovely hotel in the historic center of Rottenberg Ob der Tauber (not to be confused with the Rotteburg in the north). Quaint cobblestone streets and medieval architecture abound. The couple running this hotel were very friendly and helpful and speak a variety of languages. The hotel itself has plenty of old-world character and a decent breakfast is included. My room was not 'spacious' but certaily comfortable enough with a decent bathroom. Though the nightlife here is not great, it's a lovely place to visit for a romantic or relaxing weekend. I believe in the summer it is on the 'wine road' tours of Germany.

Loved site seeing in this charming and historical city and the hotel was within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and things to see. We had a navigation device in our car so finding the hotel was no problem. We were disappointed that the room was not as pictured in their ads--much smaller and not as well appointed--but the rate was good so we likely "got what we paid for". Older furnishings with a small TV that was sitting on the desk in a portion of our first room that we couldn't see from the bed--non-functional for us. The arched doorway between the entry and bedroom in our first night's room was fairly low so my 6'4" husband kept accidentally hitting his head. Decided to ask for another room the end of the first day's stay and it was roomier with higher doorways and a new flat-screen TV that you could view from the bed plus a bath tub with shower in a much larger bathroom. Single draw back was that the room had fewer windows with less air circulation. No air conditioning in the hotel which made it very hot in the rooms and halls this time of year. Hotel has an elevator which was very nice. Breakfast was included in our stay and we ate outside in a lovely garden in a quiet setting each morning. The staff was helpful and accommodating. Recommend that you ask to view the rooms in your price point that may be available before you move your bags in for the duration of your stay.

Location central. Welcome was good, taken to garaging for bike, given city map, shown to lovely room, and then told that their restaurant was not open to us only to the American party staying at the Hotel. We were wet, having ridden through a thunderstorm, and this was not exactly what we expected as the booking was made and price paid on the understanding there was a restaurant for an evening meal.As it happened it did us a favour, as the restaurants in the town were superb and the rain had stopped. In the afternoon of the one day we stayed we went to the hotel for afternoon tea as advertised on the board, served in the garden,Strawberries and ice cream, however NO STRAWBERRIES!!! Breakfast was good, but cannot comment on any other food at the Hotel, because none of it was available to us. As a B & B it is a bit expensive, but the town and restaurants are very good.

This was my first trip to Rothenburg ob der Tauber and I am certainly glad I made it I found it fascinating to visit a preserved walled medieval town. The people were friendly and very helpful and I particularly enjoyed the Night Watchman tour. The hotel was charming and the owners could not have been more accommodating. The breakfast room was absolutely charming.

Breakfast service could be a little more 'relaxed'. We found the service a little over attentive which made us feel a little harried. Otherwise our stay was fine, the room was very spacious and the hotel's location is perfect for exploring the town.
