Ronda Hotel El Horcajo - Ronda

Located in dramatic and beautiful surroundings. The restaurant food was 'home-style' and well cooked and presented. The staff were helpful, polite and very accomodating - we requested paella for the following days' meal (when it was NOT on the menu)and it was put ON the menu!!! Tasted good!

A great hotel in a picture book location! Staff was friendly,the meals were wonderful,and the pool was terrific.We were sad to leave!

Large clean rooms with a freindly staff and gorgeous natural surroundings.

It is difficult to find, but well worth the effort. The young woman at the desk was very engaging. The food was very good and the location was beautiful. We encourage the hotel to develop a written description of the history of the buildings and location.

Beautiful. Food is great, countryside outstanding, Welcome perfect. Can't find it with a gps, but follow instructions on Venere print out and you arrive in good shape. Best hotel we stayed in in Spain. A bit far from Ronda... But worth the trip.

Loved it. To stay at this hotel you do need a car. The location is in an isolated rural area on the edge of the Sierra De La Grazalema and is perfect for day trips in that area or into Ronda. If you email them, they will send GPS coordinates but the directions they give are accurate. It seemed that the hotel was formerly a farm and has lots of character. The food was very good and the staff very helpful. Our only complaint is that the toilet plumbing was not totally efficient and the water pressure was low - however, these are minor points. We would definitely return to this lovely, character filled hotel in beautiful surroundings.

Wonderful Hotel in wonderful place

The hotel is almost impossible to find out, mainly because in that part of Spain a big renewal of roads and changing of their number is on the go. I'm quite an expert in touring but it took me 1,5 hrs just to get there. The indications on site are not enough and contain some mistakes. The worst thing had yet to come: once arrived there, the expected 4 bed room had been given away, even if I phoned at 18:00 hrs to have directions on the road. At first they tried to force us into a 3 bed room, but after insisting, we got two double rooms at the same price of the original 4 bed ones. The young woman at the reception speaks very bad english and could not explain what had happened. Anyway, once solved the problem, the stay was pleasant enough and they have a great cousine.

Two of us looking for a peacful stop over. and this was ideal very quiet and comfortable with cooling pool in the heat- although possible to drive 10mins to Zahara(do visit for turquoise lake) for restaurants we ate at the hotel and though choice was limited it was good and value for money(salads are huge even as ist course). Countryside is beautiful and roads even in June very quiet. Staff virtually all women were good and helpful.

Very nice location and outstanding surrounding although a little far from Ronda (25km) Hotel services quite poor however. But it does not matter. When you are there, you do not care. Small swimingpool. Pictures of horses are on all photographs including hotel website, but the hotel has nothing todo with horses, on special request only and preferably in advance and quite expensive.

The hotel is situated on a hacienda about 20 minutes away from Ronda. due to recent renaming of roads it was a bit tricky to find. the hotel itself is in a very quiet, rural area with simple but charming rooms in former buildings of the hacienda which provided all necessary comfort.

We only regret that we had only one nite here. This is a great get away place for a couple...relaxing, beautiful pictureque surroundings. The pool was a good place to relax but in Dec was too cold to go in. The room was great for the four of us and we also enjoyed the short walks we took around the ranch.
