We stayed 1 night in the hotel. It was easy to find but not very close to Termini and the metro station (if you are without luggage is ok). It wasn't very expansive place but it turned out that for the same price you can find better hotels closer to Termini (we stayed in another hotel 1 week later and it was much better). The problem with this hotel was that the room was very very small. When we put our luggage on the floor there wasn't any place to step. The bathroom was small too and the shower was broken. The TV and bed sheets were very old . And you could hear the other guests talking in their room. The only good thing was that we could check in earlier (around 10.30am).Overall for 1 night stay it wasn't a big problem (I've seen worse hotels), but I won't recommend this or come back again.

The Staff is friendly and helpful. Within about a kilometer of Terminini and you can walk to most major sites in Rome. I stayed here on the way in and out of Italy. Hotel is not handicap accessible as you have to walk up one story to get to lobby and it has a very small elevator from the lobby to the rooms. Bed linens and bathroom were clean though mattresses and pillows were very hard. While the tile on the floors and bathroom seems to be recently updated the rest of the room probably hasn't been in 30 or 40 years. The AC/Heat worked in one room but not the other. If you need a cheap place to crash it is acceptable.

What can you expect for 45 € per night in Rome? No real breakfast, just a voucher for a nearby bar to have a croissant and a coffee. Room stinks from the sink in the bathroom. Dirty sheets.

Excellent value for the money. The rooms are quiet small, but clean and cozy. The location is perfect. Breakfast is really small, but that's how Italians have breakfast - Coffee & Crossant. We got from Termini station by foot in less than 10min. Check in/check out was smooth. Staff was very helpful in everything we needed (info, directions, wash cleaning, luggage drop off after check out, etc.). We'd definitely come back to this cozy little hotel when ever in Rome.

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Hotel Virginia – staff was excellent help in recommending tours, restaurants and directions to all the hot spots. Easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go, 10 minute to Termini (Bus\Train) less than 20 minute walk to the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Lots of local Restaurants and Grocery stores minutes away.

When coming in the hotel the lady in reception was interested only pc and did only the minimum for us (obviously tired to her work, all the other personnel were very polite and helpful) and we get first the room where it was terribly noisy air conditioner. Later a nice gentleman tried to fix it without success and finally gave us a new good room.

Hotel is fine, clean, staff is friendly and hlepful, building has fine location (close to centre of public transportation), price was "italianly adequate", but to compare with accomodation in Spain we would get more comfort and luxury for the same price. We have just two negative notices: 1. unpleasant odor at the room (but open window solved it), 2. what they called breakfast actually was not a breakfast but snack (just small cup of coffee/tea and one piece of pastry).

We needed an inexpensive place to stay for one overnight in Rome. Hotel Virginia was perfect! Convenient location, cheerful, helpful staff, and clean. Rooms are a bit snug and it's in a commercial area so there is street noise, but it died down in the late evening so did not hinder our sleep. We felt very safe here. Were even fortunate enough to find on-street parking! I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to those with comparable needs.

Compliments to Constantine at reception who helped me with finding parking for my car and generally being very friendly and helpful. The family room for 4 persons was clean and the fridge a nice bonus. Hotel generally a little run down but basically ok. Breakfast is at the neighbouring bar, 1 drink(coffee or juice) + 1 pastry per person. Small but the coffee was great and enough to get us started into the day. Hotel area is a little seedy but with so many tourists, the Indian "locals" fade into the background. Restaurants in the area are cheaper than in Rome center, waiters mostly from India.. Get to know the metro and buses that travel around the hotel, the center is about 20-25 minutes walk and it's better to save energy by travelling to and from the hotel with public transport. I stayed there with my wife and 2 daughters (9 /13). At night the noise from the street bars and waste collection trucks (they do this in the evenings) does get a bit irritating. It's not 5 star or super luxury but for having a clean room in Rome the hotel is fine. Payment either cash or with credit card upon checkout.

I stayed in Hotek Virginia with two of my friends for two nights. Room was very clean. Toilet and shower area was clean. However both the room and toilets were quite small. However it did not affect us a lot as we were out most of the time. Staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. Location wise it s ideal as its only about 15 min walk from main train station (termini). So even when we went out at night, most night buses get to termini and its a quick walk back to the hotel. Hotel has a 24 hour reception and they are always awake (we had problems in some other hotels as we had to keep pressing the bell for the night staff to wake up, but in hotel virginia, they were very good and opens the bell even early hours of morning as soon as you press the bell). In a critical note, hotel reception is in the first floor and there is no lift to get to first floor from ground floor. However its only few steps. There is a lift from first floor to get to other levels. ( our room was in the third floor). Breakfast includes a croissant and a tea. It s served in a cafe downstairs, so you have to collect a ticket from reception. Even though i was not keen on this idea, i started to like it as you can have any type of coffee at the cafe.

We are from Switzerland and we travelled throught Italy for 4 days. We were really surprised about the hotel. The rooms were small but that's not important for a short stay in rome. We'd probably stay again in this hotel. The price was excellent! We really liked also the closeness to the city and mainstation. Breakfast was ok. nut very much but it was good. we just didn't like the coffe there. we have nothing else bad to say about this hotel. Maybe it would be good if you have some foreign TV stations. Because there were just italian stations and we liked to listen music on MTV or watch a movie before going to bed. But thats all. Hotel Virginia in Rome is nicely located in a quite street near Roma Mainstation (5min walk). English speaking reception is very kind. Rooms and baths are not new but have a cousy charme and are absolutely sufficent. Save, fridge and AC are working. I can recommend the hotel to all who look for not too expensive but very well-located accommodation in the center of rome. The welcoming was really nice. People of the hotel speak several languages even french! They give you a map of Rome, and many other advises. Nice! The main default of this hotel is to be really noisy: noise of pipes all night long, the isolation between corridors and other rooms is really bad. You can have the impression of being in the same room than your neighbour! Another negative point is that you have to get out of the hotel to get your breakfast in a bar at the other corner of the street, and this breakfast is really cheap: one croissant and one drink (no fruit juice).

We stayed in Hotel Virginia for one night after coming back to Rome from Umbria. It's about a 15 minute walk from Station Termini so it was a bit inconvenient to walk with our luggage. The staff at the hotel was generally ok. They were helpful with pointing out where the bus routes are etc. The room itself was ok but the walls are thin so we were able to hear the people next door. The room smelled like vinegar but it was clean so it wasn't too much of an issue. There was no showerhead holder so taking a shower was a bit difficult. They did not provide hand towels (just bath towels) unlike the other hotels we stayed in Rome. I'd recommend this hotel if there is nothing else around in this price range. Otherwise, you can keep browsing...

For the price, this hotel is absolutely brilliant. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. My partner is Italian and from Rome. And she was pleasantly surprised with the area considering its close proximity to Termini - I wouldn't have heard the end of it otherwise! Ok the one downside was the lift wasn't immediately available to the guests but, I'm sure the staff might be persuaded if absolutely necessary. And, let's face it, in theory you only need to tackle the stairs with a heavy suitcase on check-in and check-out (unless of course you are us!) The breakfast provided at the local bar is enough to get you started - if only in the mood for something more substantial. But with so much choice available to you, you don't want to eat in the same place day in day out anyway - this is Italy after all. So if you are happy with a very clean room but, can accept the odd chipped tile and worn wallpaper, then you should consider the Virginia. And if you are looking to spend the small amount the Virginia charges you should be very happy. We've stayed at a few Fairmont Hotels at £250 a night that had the odd chipped tile and worn wallpaper - now that's something to grumble about! Enjoy your stay

Two russianspeaker housemaids were also friendly and unobtrusive (it was important as we slept till noon :)). The bathroom was really small, but it's not a problem to get shower for one (:)) person. The quietness of room was good but at nights sanitation cars made some noise. The correlation of price and quality was good. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value. It was very comfortable and clean but a little beat up. I read about the small showers and didn't think much of it but I had to strategize to get my arms above my head (I'm about 6 feet tall). The front desk staff does not speak good English. I didn't realize I'd always had that luxury. Being without that link to my surroundings was an obstacle. The breakfast is the bare minimum. It's not really an issue to go to the bar but you literally get one plain croissant and one juice or coffee. When I'm out sightseeing, I need more breakfast! I felt very safe in the neighborhood but it is very dirty. Previously we've stayed in areas closer to the main sites and there was much less garbage and graffiti. The super market is very close. We had a fridge but it did not work. When I tried to ask about this I was told it was not a freezer. It never made a sound and things inside the refrigerator were the same temperature as things outside it. So if price is important to you, this hotel will do the trick.

Very useful supermarket near the notel, shops and cafes, market in mornings with fresh fruits. Rooms are very clean and nice. We stayed in room 101 and 102, both were nice, though 202 has fridge and more specious shower cabin. 101 had one double bed and one single bed, this is a room for three persons. All rooms have air conditioning. I defenitely would stay here again for this price (75 EUR for two persons per night). Both rooms had two doors which exclude any noise from the corridor. The hotel exceeded our expectations.

ALL WAS NICE.BUT WE HAD TO WALK AROUND TO FIND IT.(THE MAP IT´S NOT GOOD) AND THE HOTEL HAS NOT ELEVATOR TO THE FIRST FLOOR, IT´S NECESARI TO CARRY THE BAGGAGE. BUT THE ATTENTION IS REALLY NICE AND IT IS IN A NICE (CALM) ZONE.

We felt this was a excellent deal and very nice staff. Very close to the Termini and that is awesome. The restaurants are across the street are not in the Rick Steves but awesome places to eat nearby like the Bobbos and then street market everyday is a block away. Only wish the map here was better with directions as we got lost walking and took us a while to find it.

For the price you pay you receive ALOT! the rooms are very clean and spacious with good facilities. The cleaners are very efficient and do their jobs well. The hotel is very close to termini station which was great for us as we arrived by train. The only negative is that the hotel is on the opposite side of termini to al the sites but it means it's in a quieter area.

My wife and I, were very well attended and we felt fine at the hotel, because it is clean and well decorated. It is very well located, close to train Termini station and we go by walking to many interesting places at Rome. Surrondings are peaceful. To take breakfast at a Bar close to Virginia Hotel was good for us. We enjoyed a lot our staying at the hotel, therefore we recommended it because it is a nice place to stay.

Triple room was small, breakfast at cafe around corner was not so good, location is good, parking on the street is very cheep, from 08,00 am. till 07.00 paid 6 euro. After 7 pm. is free! There is a fridge in the room, it is nice! The beds are comfortable, but it was little bit noisy .We stayed there to celebrate our daughter 20. birthday visiting Rome.

I never stay in this hotel ever again! Staffs were bad, rude (every one), not helpful, room was so dirty. There was any fix require, they didn't do it, let water leaked from toilet to my bedroom and have toilet smell over 2 nights. Night time staff was unhelpful, some drunker around there followed us up hotel, he didn't help but tell us to hang out with them and he will follow! what the heck!!! I hate here

It was nice to have air-conditioning in such hot day.It worked o.k.,if you remember to put it to lower temperatue than you relly mean.Room had seen it´s best days, but it was o.k for the price. It was quite clean, the reason for not having a better rate for cleanes,is that we found potato chips under the table.Toilet was clean, witch is most important,if you ask me.

There are different levels of soil into rooms from the entrance to the room itself, the same thing for the bathroom. It is dangerous at night for everyone, the rest of the time for old (Our case) or children

Well....I recommend this Hotel to everyone who would like to stay close to the center of Rome. We actually walked to everwhere without using public transport. We took teh room next to the reception and there was lots of noise but we were so nackered, that as soon as got to our beds we fall sleep. Do Not take it. The breakfast was a simple criossant and a coffee. (but its included in the price) But remember you are in Rome and being in the center is expensive. We paid 65€ for a triple room. Excellent price and excellent stay. Would come back again.

We were one young couple travelling through Italy and stayed for 3 nights in Roma. The location in Roma is excellent, however, it was hard to sleep because we heard every move and door clapping of the neighbors. Moreover, the water was one time cold in the evening (which was due to too many people taking showers said a hotelier). The hotel is sufficient for budget travellers but especially the loudness of the room was hard to bear in the morning.

Do not sat at this hotel. It is nothing like advertised. The rooms are small. The beds are horrible. The front entrance has rubis in the hall. The staff is not helpful at all. We left after one night of no sleep.

First impression was definitely not good, stairway & elevator were under renovation (or just out of order), and the surroundings were somewhat scary. However, the room was very clean and nice. Air condition needs a remote control, which is separately available from the reception, without extra charge. We also found less frightening ways from the Termini to the hotel. Close by was also a very good and large wine shop, definitely worth a visit.

The hotel was very small. I felt like we didn't have any privacy from the front desk, since our room was pratically on top of the front desk. Also, the room was in need of rennovations. The shower head fell off the shower, the wood was coming off the door frame, and the bed felt like a sleeper sofa mattress where you could feel the springs. Our hotel next to the Vatican seemed like a much better deal for the extra 50 Euros we paid for it. The location was very close to the Termini station (walking distance even with lots of luggage), which was nice. The free breakfast at the near by bar was a typical European breakfast of a croissant and a coffee.
