Nice, clean & beautiful rooms (but not so quiet)and nice employees .Extraordinary view from Roof Garden,a terrace on the top floor with an incredible panorama of the eternal City "Rome". I would stay with pleisure again in Romanico Palace. The first time was in our Honey-Moon on Sept 09.

I'm 26 and was travellig alone to Rome just for 2 days. I have arrived at the hotel on 4 August at 1.30 p.m. The receptionist said that they can give me the room only at 2 p.m. OK. When I came back, it appeared that the only available room was the room at the hotel Veneto, which is in the connected building and has same style (and most likely same owners), but still it was not the hotel I booked. The room was small, the furniture looked really old and cheesy. When I swithched off the TV and went to sleep, I realised the air conditioner (I have never seen such old model) was making extremly loud water sounds, like a waterfall. Since it was already late, I decided not to call the reception and try to sleep. The sounds were waking me up constantly and I woke up absolutely destroyed (and I just couldnt switch it off, since it was 40 plus outside). Next morning I asked the reception to fix the problem. Btw the breakfast (EUR15) was very poor.. When I came back in the evening the problem was not fixed. I waited for two hours (until midnight when my plane was at 8 am next day), since the stuff was absolutely careless until they admitted that there is a problem and suggested me to move to another room, this time in Romanico Palace itself (the room in fact was not any better). In 10 mins the air conditioner started to make same sounds, moreover I found used toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom and hairs in bed. I didnt have any forces for further discussions and I just had another horrible night. So, if you dont want to spoil your journey in Rome, please do not choose Romanico Palace.

We found the web site misleading in terms of the room size. We booked a Delux Double room and got a very small, dark room with no view. Building work everyday except the Sunday. The reception staff while efficient and polite were very unfriendly. the Triple room (for our childern) was good but their bathroom was very poor, small and in need of updating. Value for money was disappointing compared to other hotels we have stayed in in Rome. We thought we were paying more to get a higher quality and standard and good location, we only got location.

The room looked exactly as it did on the internet. Not a big room, but very pretty & adequate. Nice breakfast included on the rooftop. My only complaint is that it was quite a walk to the Spanish Steps & ads said it was beside them.

Reserved Romanico Palace, but were put in hotel next door, which shared same facilities but was different hotel around the corner. The rooms were much like on the Veneto website but had no charachter and in a 'boudoir' style. Our bath leaked during the night, flooding the bedroom and at 2pm, the official check in time, there was a queue of about 6 families waiting to check in, and we didnt even get to the room until about 2.40pm. The receptionist at Romanico palace was rude. I wouldnt recommend the hotel to anyone. Walking distance to Spanish steps and Trevi fountain but not a short walk.

I booked the Hotel break in Rome in April to celebreate my wife's 70th birthday and one of the main reasons for choosing the Romanico Palace was that it had a lovely roof terrace restaurant which was described in the publicity. I intended to book a table for dinner at this restaurant on the evening of my wife's birthday and I would probably have requested a special dessert or something on these lines to celebrate the occasion. This would have meant we could have dined in the hotel in the evening and did not have to travel outside. I was very disappointed on arrival to discover that although the roof restaurant was open for breakfast it was not due to open for evening dining until after the 1st May. I pointed out to the staff that in their literature this was not clear and it simply stated that the hotel had a restaurant. I particularly wanted to book a hotel with restaurant facilities as after a day's sight seeing we always prefer to relax and dine in the hotel rather than then dress and set off again in search of a restaurant.

Arrived late, due to flight..to be greeted at the door by front of house saying that we had to go to a different Hotel for the night and then return the next day. Not an ideal way to start a mini break. Returned next day (from a lovely Hotel) and arrived to our room. Nice room, but the jacuzzi bath took 1hour 20mins to fill( and a further 4hours to drain) We asked maintainence to look into it..and the reply was that it always takes that long! Final morning, leaving for an early flight,no water for either bath nor shower! Dissapointing.

I'm very disappointed! the room was so noisy that i'd to change. But the second was so small! it was not acceptable for a four stars hotel. I won't recommend this hotel to my parents or to my friends.

Close to all you need if you don't mind a little walk or take metro. receptionist on first night a very friendly lady was unbelievably nice. excellent first impression. other receptionists let the impression slip. efficient but did not go above and beyond. lovely bar and great drinks. 10 euro per cocktail though. in a quiet area, though cleaners make a lot of noise in morning and wake you up (grant it around 9am) and will it seems take measures to get you out of room so they can clean e.g. bang door with hoover or knock and disappear. Rooms are art-deco ish. We had a deluxe which is not a deluxe by Irish standards but most likely is good for Rome (due to space shortage). Bathrooms very lovely. Breakfast room staff amazing, nice, efficient and helpful. Overall would recommend if you except 'cosy' room size and deal with cleaners.

The Romanico is beautiful. It has the best breakfast we have had in Italy and it is served on roof terrace with a spectacular view. It is a little remote from the main attractions and transportation was a little daunting but the hotel is worth the effort. The bathrooms are probably some of the nicest in Rome and I would definitely stay again. In fact we had planned to but our itnerary changed and we had to cancel our second stay.

We had an excellent stay. The hotel was perfect. We had a double deluxe room with jacuzzi which was great. The rooftop restaurant where we had breakfast was wonderful, looking out over Rome from the 7th floor. It was also open in the evening as a bar. The hotel will be even better in the future as they are building a restaurant for evening meals and a spa. The hotel is within walking distance of most of the main sights, and the open top tour buses stop just a few minutes walk away from the hotel. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Mainly on price / quality ratio is this place good at the moment. There was construction going on in many areas throughout the stay, even starting before 9am with noise close to our room. Upside is they have a very nice property and a nice rooftop area for the breakfast - and a very big spread for the breakfast. Beds in entire hotel are not King - maybe Queen/Double. Really just OK - seemed worth the risk based on comments I saw before I made the plans and at least I didn't have high expectations.

In any other city this would not be a 4* hotel. The location was good and the staff and cleanliness were good but the rooms were small and the facilities were limited. Our allocated 'deluxe' room had no bath, no sofa or chair, no view from the window and the air conditioning didn't work. We upgraded to a 'suite' which would normally pass for a deluxe room. The breakfast cold buffet was barely satisfactory and the hot food options were very restricted. The promised rooftop bar was not open as we were out of season. The hotel has neither restaurant nor pool (these weren't promised but would have been nice to have). Nevertheless the staff were all polite and as helpful as they could be. The hotel was clean and well presented and the location was as good as advertised.

Very nice hotel - Simple, clean, and well worth the cost. If your expectation is for a 4 star hotel, you will not be happy with this one. If on the other hand you are looking for good value in a quality hotel, I would recommend this hotel.

This is a wonderful hotel-beautiful rooms, clean as a whistle, and all spaces in the hotel are clean and easy on the eyes. it's location is the one drawback-not near metro or any of the biggie places to see, but if you want a wonderful room and a quiet area and don't mind being away from the madding crowd, this is your hotel.

The rooms are too small. Not delux category. And very very expensive. Also very simple breakfast.I saw many good hotels when I was there their prices lower than Romanico Palace and they are very kindly welcoming service and nice hotels. When I go to Rome I will not stay any more in Romanico Palace. Thanks.

We were a little disappointed in this hotel. Expected a bit more based on price we were paying and the website reviews. It wasn't very close to anything really so quite a long walk to get to any of the attractions. Staff not particularly friendly and our room was a disappointment as didn't look anything like the hotel photos on the website. Our shower which was over the bath leaked and flooded the bathroom floor every time we used it which then flooded out onto the bedroom floor. Our safe which was in the wardrobe was not bolted in and so could just be lifted up and taken out of the room so not much use! Stayed in a much nicer hotel for half the price on our return back through Rome so don't expect to get more value for your money if spending more.

Well priced hotel within easy walking distance of the Spanish steps etc... Took tour bus around town, stopped right by our hotel. Great location for price. Of course it would be great to be centrally located, but the cost is 3 times the price of this hotel. Old man on front dest is very rude. The other people on staff at the front dest were not much better. Both my husband and I experienced this! Overall it was fine.

An unexpected bad experience. I am an experienced traveller who during the last 20 -30 years probably in average have spent 60 - 80 nights per year in hotels around the world either for business or leisure. For this long weekend in Rome I checked the net for alternative hotels and decided on Romanico Palace that for some reasons had good feedback in the review on Venere and should be a quality hotel from rating and price requested per night. Unfortunately experience did not meet expectations. We arrieved around 1pm. Room not available which was fine since it was said that check in was from 2 pm. Coming back from a good lunch at 3 pm we checked in and got our keys to the room. Unfortunately the room we got was not cleaned at all, the bed not done, towels not changed etc.etc. The receptionist was first more focused on telling that it was not his fault then to give us a new room. The next room we were moved to was very small(Room 518) (also bath room)and cleaning could certainly have been better, especially the bath room. Further during the stay the flushing at the toilett had to be repaired one night and was OK over night, but was broke agin next morning. In addition the electronic key to the room had to be replaced once as it did not work. However the worst experience during the stay was when my wife one morning finished her breakfast with a piece of cake and in the middle of finishing it found out that the it was full of mould. Showing it to the waiter, it was taken away together with what was left at the table with no further comments or excuses. The following morning the waiter told she was sorry. The only recommendation I can give at the moment is that the hotel review its own routines and sharpen itself to improve the quality of the operation.
