Very good location in the centre of the city. We were lucky to have a room on the 6th floor with quite a nice terrace. Comfortable bed, but the furniture and design need upgrading. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay there and the staff were helpful and of good advice.

Nice little hotel, great location which wqas the saving grace,. typical european small hotel, had everything we needed, not an exceptional breakfast but saved some money and time on our stay., hotel room had a drains smell the whole time we stayed, not enough for us to complain about but unpleasant nonetheless.

this was the fourth time in rome. the aera is quite busy but as it is winter season, not so crouded. windows of the room were well isolated so that there was no noise from the street. unfortunately, there was a big smell coming out of the toilet, bidée and bath... you can walk to all sightseeing - would not recommend to take the hop on, hop off bus recommended by the hotel - there are other lines which do cheaper tours. friendly stuff! small rooms but clean. confortable beds.

Fantastic location, 50 metres to the Trevi fountain and walking distance to the Collesseaum, Spanish steps and Vatican. Lovely restaurants everywhere to choose from. Absolutely perfect location, good price and our quad room had a lovely balcony looking over the main street with a lounge and table land chairs and beautiful potted flowers. Was pleasantly surprises with this motel.

This was a special vacation with my daughter. Regno was perfect. The room we received was beyond our expectations. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and made our trip very memorable. It's location cannot be seconded. Perfect for visiting Rome. My only comment would be to improve upon the breakfast. It was adequate. But all in all, I would definitely return to Regno. Thanks Regno.

We stayed at two adjacent rooms on the top floor with our own little patio. Rooms are small but quality is OK given the price. Hotel prices in Rome are high in general. What really makes this hotel great is the location. Right in the middle of everything and all the "must do's" in Rome are within walking distance. No need for cabs, busses or subways. And even if it’s located on a relatively busy street, we were not disturbed by the traffic (could be because of top floor location). Highly recommended for a long weekend trip where you would like do to Rome by foot.

A really nice hotel in an excellent location. Staff was nice and helpful. Room was relatively big compared to what we expected in such a hotel. A warning to parents with baby/ies - in order to get to upper floors you need to use 2 elevators separated by a staircase, which is problematic with a baby stroller

The location is second to none. We got a spacious suite with 2 bathrooms, a very nice touch. My only complaints are that the bed was small, a double for 2 people and that they charged extra for eggs, the only hotel to do so, otherwise we were very happy. They should also may-be spruce up the entrance, add a larger more prominent sign.

We chose this hotel because of its central location within the old part of Rome as we have small childen who wouldn't be capable of walking long distances. It was our first experience of Rome, and as a result of Hotel Regno's location a wonderful one! In two days we managed to see all the sights in 2km radius (at times with the help of a bus). Both my wife and I also managed to (seperately) jog from the fontana to the Vatican and back in the early morning, which was magical. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, especially those working in the breakfast room.

We stayed for 4 nights in May 2008. The location is fabulous, only a few minutes walk to the Trevi fountain, Pantheon etc. Colloseum and Forum also walkable. Plenty of restaurants in surrounding area. The room we had was spacious, on the top floor and had a balcony. The only minor negative is that breakfast was a bit limited / boring. Would definately stay here again

Overall, our family of four really liked this hotel. The location was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the price was reasonable compared to comparable hotels. On the less positive side, we had a quadruple room reservation, but we got one room with four beds, and it was fairly cramped. The breakfast room was also very crowded in the morning, and the elevator was not working on one occasion. I would return to this hotel, however, on another trip to Rome.

Single room, small and not very clean. Could hear the snores of my neighbours and their TV as if they were just by my side. Breakfast was worth nothing: the only proper thing was the cofee, all the rest was of poor quality. People was nice. The best thing was, no doubt, the location. Definetly the price - 100 eur/night - was not very high but I think the overall quality I recieved made me think I was paying too much for what I got.

Basically an excellent hotel and excellent service. A small problem on the first day was that I was given a room that clearly had been used by smokers before, although the entire hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. The staff reacted quickly and moved me into a fresh room. Their help and service also worked very efficiently when I was on my way to the station and they called the taxi driver because I had left a bag in the hotel. The surroundings of the hotel are not too noisy but it is possible to hear your neighbours when they are speaking loudly.

Probably one of the best hotels we have enjoyed in Europe. Price to value was wonderful. We were on the top floor, in a quad room since we had two children (ages 7 and 9). The room had a spectacular balcony from which we could enjoy the sights and sounds of Roma. Perfect location! Within 300 yards we could walk to Trevi fountain, The Pantheon, the "Wedding Cake", Trajan's columm, Trajan's market. No better location in the city. We will stay here anytime we go to Rome.

An excellent location, excellent reception and restaurant staff. A pleasure to stay there. We will definitely return. Two disappointments: our rooms, on the 5th floor, were near an airconditioning or other type of plant, so although the weather was perfect and we had a balcony with a fabulous view, we found we couldn't enjoy it as much as we would have liked. The breakfast was OK, but not brilliant, and the breakfast room staff, unlike all the rest of the staff at the hotel, were a little surly.

This hotel is in the best spot in Rome- no hotel can offer you a better location! You are in the middle of everything, walking distance (even with small children) to the Spanish Steps, the Forum and the Coloseum. The room is very clean, although be prepared that the front desk cannot offer you change (we wanted to tip the porter but only had large bills) or help if the air conditioning doesn't work. Expect noise if you open the window because of the street below (but closing the windows really helps - unless the air conditioning isn't working and then you either sweat and close the windows or are fine but have noise from the street below). Best location ever, so I'd come back in a heartbeat! (You even have a balcony which was great!)

We booked this hotel expecting 4 star service but received 2 star service at a 4 star price. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because they advertised child care service. Once we got there, there was no child care service and the receptionists were unwilling to help us procure this service from within the city. We could hear everything in the room next to us, including a crying toddler. When we arrived for breakfast, we were the only people in the room to be asked what room we were staying in - as if we looked like we didn't belong there. Descrimination! The only good thing about the hotel was the location - right next to a shoe store and cafe and on the shopping strip within walking distance to most everything. But it wasn't worth the money when we could have gone 2 blocks down and stayed somewhere equally nice for half the price. I do not recommend this hotel to families.

I specified some particular request when making the booking on the web, and was amazed to see this printed on the checkin slip at reception, and even more surprised that it had been done with no problem. I would recommend this as a good hotel, providing you don't want to spend a lot of time in the room - there is enough room to sleep, get dressed (carefully) and that is it. The bathroom is big enough, but only just. Balcony is great, not completely private, but was a great bonus nonetheless. Hotel is absolutely ideal for anyone wanting to have a base for walking round all sights in central Rome, and pleasant and helpful staff. I would definitely go again.Would not recommend our room for older people as there are too many stairs to be negotiated. Would not recommend the hotel for anyone with children, because I don't want noisy children spoiling anybody else's enjoyment here!!

My two friends and I did not know what to expect when arriving at our hotels in Italy. We booked all three hotels (in 3 different cities) all through venere.com. We were quite pleased with all our hotels. However Hotel Regno definitely beat out the other two. The service was great, the rooms were so clean, the bathrooms were spotless and our rooms were very spacious! We could not believe how big our rooms were compared to the other two hotels we stayed in. Our room had two seperate rooms- one as a sitting room with couch that turned into a twin bed and one with the king size bed. It also had two flatscreen tvs with English channels and a walkout wrap around balcony. Plus, you cannot beat the location-- so close to Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, and all the Piazza's. I would reccommend this hotel to everyone!! If I return (well I should say when) to Rome I will definitely plan on staying at Hotel Regno!

Having been warned by other reviews that the rooms could be very small and noisy (those facing the Via Corso, a major and very busy street), I called 3 times in advance to make sure we had a large, quiet double room on a high floor. We did. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great to have a computer/TV connection in the room. Their restaurant had problems. They consistently gave me pineaple juice when I asked for grapefruit. They served cold, premade pizza (dinner) and cold croissants (breakfast). But this was minor. The location is terrific. Overall a very pleasant hotel for the price. We would go back.

The hotel room is completely quiet even if the hotel is in the very center of Rome. To my great surprise the room was much better than the one in the picture, newly redecorated, not large but very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was small but clean and accessorized. I appreciated the warm welcome and the kindness of the staff : they provided me the informations I needed and a very good service. I will surely be their faithful costumer every time I'll come back to Rome.

Our family of 2 adults and 3 children had a great stay here. The location was very central, so sightseeing was easy to do. Many bus routes nearby too. The room we had was large enough for 5, and had a big bathroom. Air conditioning was great, and meant that the windows could be kept shut when quiet was needed. Wonderful breakfasts. More towels immediately available when requested. A good value stay for a family (most alternative hotels cannot offer a room for 5, so you have there the expense of 2 rooms).

Everything in Rome is expensive, so for the price, the Hotel Regno was fine. It is a small, tall, thin building with one slow elevator and lots of stairs. Most people use the stairs. The elevator is used to transport luggage. The room was spacious, and fairly clean, I say fairly because everything is old and some of the furniture is stained, still is is charming and very fitting in the "Roman sense". The location is perfect. Only a block away from the Trevi fountain, the piazza de Venicia, the Pantheon, and the Spannish steps. Of course, shopping is everywhere. There was one thing that annoyed me about the Regno. We only stayed one night, and on that night we returned from an evening out at around midnight. We were traveling with our children and had "trundle couch" in the room for them to sleep on. (a couch with a twin mattress underneath that pulls out). After searching the room, I realized there were no linen for these two beds. My two kids were tired and cranky by this time, so I went down to the desk to get linens. The night shift was not happy to see me. They could not understand why I had not discovered this problem until now, and did not want to help. They basically said it was too late to get linens. I made it clear I was not going to leave until I got sheets. After much go around, they called their supervisor. They told me to go to my room and they would "let me know" if sheets would be available. Now I'm mad, because I want to go to bed. So, I stayed at the desk until I was told sheets would be brought up promptly. Apparently, the supervisor told the night shift where to get sheets. I took a while for the sheet delivery, because you know, everyone there is on Roman time. Then, at half past midnight, I had to "make beds." When I think back on the event, It doesn't seem that bad, but at the time I was "really ticked." After that episode, the staff did not seem as friendly. I guess the word got around. Still, even after this event, I would stay ag

We had difficulty with the refrigerated air conditioning of our room on the first evening of our stay and some assertiveness on our part was required to effect a correction of the problem. Thereafter, we had air conditioning but not, we regretted, of a standard that we have grown elsewhere to expect. Other than that, we found our stay to be most comfortable. Moreover, the very central location in Rome of this hotel cannot be surpassed for its convenience.

In the plus column, the location can't be beat and the staff are truly helpful and pleasant. For being on such a busy steet we were pleasantly surprised at how much noise was blocked out with the windows closed. That said, we were very warm with our windows closed since the airconditioning in our room did not work. While Italy was undergoing a heat wave, we couldn't write off the lousy a/c to an overwhelmed system as other rooms and common areas were considerably cooler. Also, we booked a quadruple room which ended up being a small double room with four small beds. The bathroom was tiny and smelled of mildew. The furnishings were worn and dirty. We loved the city and the location so much that we were able to have a great time despite the hotel's other shortcomings. Still, I'd try a different property next time....

We stayed in the family room 454 with 4 people(2 adults and 12,16 years old kids). It was confortable for us though the beds are just a bit small. The room is quiet when the windows are closed. The breakfast is quite simple but with good coffee. Concidering the price I can strongly recomend this hotel .

The location of this hotel is excellent especially if this is your first visit to Rome and you are going to visit the "biggies". The rooms were nice (except for the first one we were given which was a large suite but located behind the elevator shaft in the back building--very noisy). HOWEVER, I have a serious complaint involving a few bad apples in critical positions on the staff--two receptionists in particular that were on the day shift while we were there. (the rest of the staff was helpful, friendly and cheerful). The two receptionists mentioned, a woman and a man, were overtly helpful with directions but condescending especially if you didn't get it immediately on the first run-through. Furthermore, she refused to answer any questions beyond the most basic directions. I asked about train schedules and she said she had no access to them. The receptionist in the afternoon used the computer at the front desk to print out train and bus schedules in less than 1 minute. I asked about horse riding opportunites (friends said that their hotel in Romehad arranged lessons, no problem) but this woman behaved as though I was asking for too much and said something about going to the Spanish Steps. Who, what at the Spanish Steps. Go to the Spanish Steps was her complete answer. I was early on in my trip and it was only in comparison to the treatment and help that I experienced at my hotels in Sienna, Florence, Venice and Sorrento that I realized what a huge difference that this kind of help makes. Expect it and look for it. People in the hospitality industry should be hospitable. You can get so much more done, have a much more pleasant trip and a better self-image as a tourist (i.e. not left feeling a little stupid because you're not getting it) if the staff is friendly and helpful rather than condescending.

Ciao, We absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel Regno. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The location was great and centrally located to everything in Rome within walking distance to alot of the sites. Plus the best shopping. My friends and I had a wonderful experience in the heart of Rome. We will be back to Hotel Regno and would recommend it to anyone going over to Rome, Italy. Ciao Bella, Italia! I was travelling with three people who were not familiar with Rome, so it was important to be able to hit all the "must-dos" in a couple of days, and the Regno was perfectly located. I was concerned about being on a main street, but noise was not an issue. Our rooms were quite small as I expected, but the baths were large enough, with great shower pressure. We were on the top floor with pleasant roomy terraces, which made the rooms feel less confining. I would stay here again. We had no problem arranging at the desk for a minivan for 4 to Fiumicino (55 euros). Two minor complaints: it took a very long time for the porter to get our bags from our rooms even though no one else was checking out at the same time, and the server at breakfast was extremely overworked so we had to wait too long for coffee. The bottom line is the hotel added to our enjoyment of Rome.

Though a little bit expensive, you pay for what you get, i.e. a very good hotel in Rome, in the middle of everything : located on the Corso, 200 m from Trevi Foutain & the Pantheon, 300 m from Piazza Venezia, 400 m from Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Navona and if you're a barocco buff, San Ignazio and its famous ceiling is just around the corner. Staff very friendly : when we arrived at 9.30 AM, not only our room was almost ready but we were offered a drink during the 5' waiting for it. The room itself was just perfect (not noisy)with a charming little balcony with flowers giving on a little street. People in charge very efficient. Very good breakfast. No hesitation to go again.

Great location, walking distance to many attractions. Very clean. Our quad room had a balcony overlooking Via Del Corso which was lovey to sit and people watch in the evening with a glass of wine. I would stay there again. The only thing I didn't like was our room did not have in room coffee/tea. We had a kitchenette but no dishes, or utensils. The frig was handy for snack for the kids and wine for us. Breakfast was nice too, cold cuts, cheeses, yougurt, cereal, bread, pastery, juice, coffee, tea.

Very good location for sightseeing (even with young children, you can make most spots by walking). Friendly staff, relatively good breakfast. But rooms facing Via del Corso are quite noisy, and family rooms are for two adults and two children very small. Price during Eastern was exorbitant ("once in a lifetime").

After having spent 4 nights at the Internazionale and 3 nights in Florence, it was a surprise to enter this clean and staff friendly hotel! The room was much more spacious than our other two hotels and the staff, especially, was extremely helpful and friendly! At the Internazionale we asked them to help us with some reservations and a day trip to Pompeii and they seemed not able to help us for some reason - that was not the case Regno! Regno staff was friendly and helpful!!!! Nice end to our 12 days in Italy with our 3 sons!

Had a fantastic stay at This Hotel. My wife and I were on the first leg of our Honeymoon and we stayed here for 2 nights. When we left and on the train heading south we realised we had left some items in our room, but not to worry as we would we back in Rome 10 days later staying the Regno's sister hotel The Oxford (which I can also recommend). We were fully expecting to have to get ourseleves accross Rome to collect our goods but they had been transfered to the Oxford already. So a big thank you to all concerned. Kerry and Alistair

The location is absolutely unbeatable: everything you might want to see is within walking distance. Outstanding restaurants (Falchetto, right around the corner; AlMoro, Sacra e Profano, and il Gelatto di San Crispino (NOT TO BE MISSED!) a block or so away near the Trevi fountain. The staff were very friendly, and while our room was compact, we were on the top floor and had a lovely roof terrace with table and chairs. Bathroom was spotless, with full-sized bath and great water pressure. The room and bath both seemed to have recently been redecorated. Only two weak points: the breakfast buffet (included), where fewer carbohydrates and more protein would have been appreciated (but we'd been spoiled by the amazing spread at our previous hotel in Zurich); and the soundproofing between rooms, which could be better.

Having made the bizarre decision to walk to the Regno from the Termini, we soon realised that not all Italian maps are to scale. It is quite a way with your cases - get the bus. Once you are there, and if you have the legs, you can walk anywhere. The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Forum, are all unbelievably close, and there are countless bus routes right outside the hotel. Walls are quite thin, but if you walk as much as we did you will be too tired to notice. We paid 630 Euros in October, and it was well worth it. But don't bother with the Bacon and Eggs... :)

My wife and I made the reservations and expected to find something a little less than what we saw. We were wrong. The room was great. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was in the room. The location was GREAT. Close walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Forum, and the Coloseum. The Vatican, the Spanish Steps, adn Via Veneto were a bus ride away. The bus stops directly in front of the hotel. A hint is to buy the day-long bus pass for E3.50 each. This will stop you from having to search for a shop that sells bus tickets at the other end. The Tobacconista around the corner sells bus tickets Monday thru Saturday. On sunday go North to the Auto Grill and turn right to the 3 lane bus depot. Ask where to catch your bus. Bus 62 goes to the Vatican and stops directly in front of the hotel. Return is bus 4 from the Vatican and 81 from Piazza Risorgimento. The bus to the Spanish Steps and Via Veneto is directly across the street from the hotel. The Museum next door has internet access for those of us that can not leave work. Additionally there is another store one block from th Trevi Fountain that also has internet access. Neither place supports VPN. There is also a market across from the Trevi Fountain with a good deli, wine, and other essentials. The hotel clerks are very helpful and courteous but sometimes only give you a partial answer. Probe until you know where and how you are going. The Breakfast is everything we needed. Sometimes the coffee is strong (old). If it maters go to the deli next door. The elevators have a strange quirk. In the morning the recording says, "Cinc Piano, 5th Floor" only once. By the evening the recording continues until you leave the elevator. All in all, the hotel is Great. My wife and I are planning a return trip soon and will keep the Regno Hotel in our plans.

My wife and I spent 3 nights and enjoyed the stay. The hotel is very well situated within walking distance to most places you want to see. The room was quiet, clean and of good size with a king bed,tv,and couch. The room and bathroom were large by comparison to other european hotels. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good selection and service was efficient. The elevator was a good size and the hallways were wide enough to make the climb to our room easier. We needed that after enjoying the fine Italian food! Would strongly recommend you stay here and we would do so again.

Hotel location was excellent. Next door restaurant and takeaway were good which helped when you're too tired to go out after a whole day of walking. The room was bigger than I expected. So that was a pleasant surprise! Bed was comfortable although I would have appreciated if another sheet was put on top of the woolen blanket. Just feels cleaner that way. Bathroom was new and always clean. Staff in the breakfast room were always pleasant despite being undermanned during peak times. Front desk people were helpful most of the time.

The Regno is in a superb location situated halfway between the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon (both of which are about 5 mins walk away). The air conditioning was a blessing! The staff were friendly and very helpful, the rooms were everything you would expect from a 3 star hotel. We hired two rooms - 1 triple and 1 quad for a group of adults and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We thought the hotel was excellent value for money and would definitely recommend the Regno to anyone planning on visiting Rome.
