About Hotel Parco dei Principi

exterior Hotel Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel & SPA - Roma exterior Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel & SPA - Roma boasts a privileged position in Rome's Veneto-Parioli district, adjacent to the splendid Villa Borghese Gardens in the heart of the city.

The property was painstaking refurbished by architect Giò Ponti, while the hotel's interior was designed and decorated by architects Massimo and Maurizio Papiri, whose aim was to recreate the opulence and richness of the patrician villas owned by Rome's nobility in the late 17th century. Beautiful wood panelling in the lobby, precious stuccoes and fabrics, valuable furniture pieces and classic artwork all add to make this hotel one of the most exclusive in Rome.

Member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts and JDB Fine Hotels &Resorts, this luxury hotel in Rome features high quality on-site guest amenities such as spacious meeting and banqueting space, the award-winning Pauline Borghese Restaurant and a peaceful landscaped garden setting boasting an Olympic-size swimming pool and a fitness club. Airport shuttle, wireless Internet access and private parking are also available.

Opening in Winter 2009, the PRINCE spa will offer multisensorial wellness cabins, turkish bath, sauna, indoor pool, and relaxing area.

The hotel is ideal for those who want to run in Villa Borghese in the morning, it's just next to it. Rooms are confortable and quiet, breakfast good. I have not had the chance to try the Spa facilities, I will do it next time. You have to walk some distance to find a restaurant but you can't have park quietness and noisy restaurants at the same time! Overall very good.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel and it's staff. Although it is a short taxi ride to most tourist sites, the beautiful suite and the amazing service was more than worth it. The concierge staff even arranged our last-minute trip to Venice for us! This was one of our best hotel stays we've had in our 25+years of travel.

Great hotel for a luxury break, attentive friendly service with people who seem genuinely pleased to see you. Well worth a stay. On the downside - restaurant menu brought together some unusual combinations including crisps with sole! Meal was rushed.

Fabulous hotel. We booked a triple, and were upgraded to a suite at the same cost. Interior is very luxurious, with five star appointments. Downsides are the location (limited restaurants/shopping within close proximity) and distance from sights (except Villa Borghese, which is within 2 blocks). Also, we asked for a restaurant recommendation, and were sent to the worst food we've ever had in Rome - all tourists, and we were ripped off. Some kickbacks obviously being given. Otherwise, an A+ experience. We regretted that we only had one night to spend here.

Although the hotel is positioned a bit further from Rome's sights (an average of 8 Euros per cab ride one way) we found it to be perfect. Extremely clean, quiet and staff is incredibly helpful. Cabs appear within seconds. Pool is beautiful and quite relaxing after a day of sight-seeing. Large breakfast buffet which includes eggs, bacon, pastries, cereal & fruit. Room was large with a balcony overlooking pool and Borghese gardens. Would absolutely stay again.

the hotel is too far located from the sights and also from via veneto, you a l w a y s need a taxi which starts from the hotel with ca.8 euro!!! there is no cafe or restaurant nearby. the advantage of the hotel is its quiet surrounding and in summer its pool. the relationsship between price and qualitiy of food in the hotel restaurant is bad. if there is a travel agency group staying in the hotel, individual travellers are in a bad situation when it comes to seats in restaurant etc.

Truly a 5 star hotel. Expensive but all amenities are available. Our view of Rome was unbelievable. The park across the street from the hotel is grand. Spanish Steps are an easy walk. The Vatican is a cab ride.

VERY DISAPPOINTED ON OUR WELCOMING. WE WERE AT 6 HOTELS PRIOR TO YOURS, AND EACH HOTEL WELCOMED US WITH A BOWL OF FRUIT AND A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE, ONE EVEN SENT US CHEESE AND CRACKERS. INCIDENTLY THIER WERE ONLY 4 STAR HOTELS. HOTEL WAS BEAUTIFUL AND ALL YOUR HELP WAS EXTREMLY WONDERFUL. WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND AND RETURN TO YOUR HOTEL .

This was our first visit to Rome and we really wanted to be able to relax as well as see the sites so we picked this hotel because it had a pool, suites and was in the middle of the park. We were initially worried it might be really far out but decided we'd take taxis everywhere if so. It lived up to all it promised and more. The most memorable things were the staff and the beautiful quiteness in a city known for it's noise. First the staff - the could not do enough for us and it was with such a friendly, fun, professional attitude. For example the pool attendant lent us his sun tan cream, the front desk said they would arrange dinner for us if we told them what kind of evening we fancied, the waiter opened up a private area on the terrace for us for breakfast. None of this was too much trouble in fact they seemed to love making us happy. Next the surroundings. It was beautifully quiet with a gorgeous terrace and pool. The setting in the park was lovely and we woke up to the most amazing view all the way through the park to St Peter's from our bed. Finally the location. Well, first there's a half hour shuttle to and from the Spanish Steps until about 7pm every night. Second, blimey it's not that far - it's probably a mile or two (that the taxi was 5 euros should give you an idea) and frankly it was lovely to return to the hotel and escape central Rome. I would liken it to the distance from St Johns Wood to central London. So overall, yes, go here - you'll love it as we certainly did. We are definitely going back.

super duplex Room was luxurious as was the hotel, expensive but well worth the extra for comfort and quality service. Excellent restaurant, location quiet but good for commuting to central locations in minutes. would highly recommend for those willing to pay for that "little bit extra".

This hotel is a beautiful place to stay while in Rome. It is in a quiet area right on the Villa Borghese but still close enough to all of the major attractions -- making sight-seeing easy and convenient. Although not typically a "family" place to stay, the GHPP staff was friendly and welcoming to our daughter (9) who loved the pool and the beautiful gardens. The only short fall was the fitness center which is small, dark and in need of equipment updates -- though it is very easy and enjoyable to go for a run in the nearby Borghese gardens. Overall, we were very impressed with this elegant (but not stuffy hotel) and would definitely return the next time we are in Rome.

We loved the hotel, we had a deluxe room with a private balcony & beautiful view of St. Peters. The resturant was excellent even though the Maitre'D was a snob, the wait staff was wonderful as were the front desk staff, the doorman & the man at the piano bar in the lounge. The location across from the Park made for quiet sleeping-good for Rome. We would stay there again. It's a really nice hotel, definately worth the 4 stars it's rated at.

This is a wonderful luxury hotel with a great restaurant. The service was first rate from a very courteous and competent staff. The hotel is not close to the historical center, but we have visited the historical sites on previous trips and just wanted a quiet resort type setting to relax in. (Given the heat of the summer, it would have made sense to take a short taxi ride to the center if that is what we wanted to do.) We slept late, ate by the pool, took walks in the nearby park, and enjoyed the beautiful hotel restaurant each night.

A very nice property in a good location, but that is where it stops. Service is not up to a four or five star hotel. They need to re-train the staff. It is all show but no substance. It is unfortunate because it is a very nice property. Rooms are on the small side but this is typical of hotels in Europe in general. Far enough from the center of Rome, but still close enough to get to everything by a short taxi ride.

Excellent hotel in a quiet location on the edge of Villa Borghese. I had a VERY spacious room. Wireless Internet in room, but pricey. About a 20 minute walk to the Spanish Steps. Plenty of neigborhood trattorias a few blocks away.

The actual structure itself is modern and not old world Italian, but once inside it is very comfortable, attractive and elegant. We had a beautiful view of the Borghese park and a balcony. Our room was spacious and the pool is very nice as well. I have stayed in this area of Rome before (Parioli) - it's out of the centre, but quiet, safe and charming.

On arrival I was unexpectedly upgraded to a beautifully decorated suite with a view over the Villa Borghese. This was most welcome. The neighborhood is an embassy district and very elegant and restful. Although the rather nondescript architecture of the hotel doesn't compare well with others in its category, the interiors are lavishly traditional with much wood, brass, and art work, and the building is beautifully maintained. Room service was prompt and the food was well prepared and served. Highly recommended.

The hotel was absolutely lovely and the service, gracious. Upon arrival we were disappointed to find that constuction was in progress diecdtly in front of our room and adjacent to the pool. We had selected this hotel for its quiet location and the swimming pool. The hotel manager was gracios enough to upgrade us to a junior suite, on the other side of the hotel, and a complimentary bottle of champagne. The location was beautiful with gorgeous sunsets over the western portion of the Borghese Gardens and remote enough to be at peace and yet close enough for an energetic walk into the old section of town. Walking through the Borghese Gardens was always a delight. The consierge always made excellent restaurant recommendations and we dfinitely will return to this exquisite hotel.
