Highly recomended! Excellent service, rooms, public areas, breakfast, etc... Very helpful personnel. The street is noisy, but the room was very quiet. Good location, next to metro station, walking distance of most touristic interests. We booked a family room for 4 and it was quite small. Probably a room for 3 fitted with a 4th bed.

This was a generally comfortable and convenient hotel during our stay in Rome. We booked a triple room as our teenage daughter was travelling with us. The room however was really just a double room with 3 single beds side by side, each comfortable but a fairly tight fit. It meant being super organised with luggage and for 3 days it it was fine. The breakfasts were very good quality and the front desk staff were very helpful. The hotel is ideally located to Roma Termini and the Repubblica metro station.

We had 2 adjoining rooms with a balcony just as I had requested. Breakfast was included which was very good. The hotel is very convenient to the metro & main train station. It's a 5 minute walk to catch the metro that will take you to all the stops at every notable lankmark (you can get a 24hr unlimited metro pass for 4 euro). This was our first time in Rome and would stay here again.

We toured Rome for 5 days, while staying at the Mascagni. It was centrally located and the staff was EXTREMELY accomodating to every need. It only had one down side, the bed was so hard we thought we were sleeping on a wooden board. We even checked to see if we were on the box springs instead of the mattress! Other than that it was a perfect place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone. English speaking tours can be booked right at their front desk and they will also arrange airport pick-up for 75 Euros (although the main train station is in walking distance)

Our stay at the Mascagni was our best in Italy. We were on a family vacation. All of the hotel employees were very cordial and receptive to any of our requests. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and colleagues.

Great location: only 500m from termini station. Quirky little hotel. Only problem was broken lift - we watched an unlucky family of 4 have to repeatedly clamour up and down 7 flights of stairs! Good breakfast. Still quite expensive for off-season, but then again, it is Rome.

We were immediately greeted by Luciano, who was very courteous. We had to wait some time before our room was ready because there were several others checking in at the same time we were. It was worth the wait. Our room was quite spacious (especially for Rome) and clean. The breakfast included in room price was great! Marco, at the desk was very helpful and gave us great advice about how to get around. We would definitely come back to this hotel.

Hotel was lovely. everything was decorated to a very nice and modern standard. Beds very comfortable. Only issue with rooms is there is very little storage space for clothes etc. The front desk managers were very very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little limited given price paid.

This was by far the best hotel experience we had in all of Italy. The service and facilities were first quality. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and extended themselves many times to be sure our needs were met each day. The beds were high quality and extremely comfortable. The concierges went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I would highly recommend the Mascagni as the ONLY place to stay in Rome.

I'm so glad I stayed at this hotel. The staff treated me like a queen. The room was nice, great location at the Piazza Republica, breakfast was excellent. I can't wait to get back to Roma and the Mascagni!

The hotel staff were extremely kind and welcoming. They really took care of me. Excellent location, within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navonna and the Pantheon. Great shopping in the area. Room was small and not well lit, but I believe this is the standard for Rome so I am not going to let it affect my future trips there; I am planning to stay at this hotel in November 2006. I liked it very much. Great breakfast included with the hotel rate.

Although we were very pleased with our 3 night stay when we arrived in Rome, we were disappointed that on our return to Rome, they had canceled our reservation. To their credit, they email this and we luckily checked our email in Siena in time to respond to their offer of other arrangements nearby. Fortunately the hotel they moved us to was nicer than Mascagni. So, I guess they are still on my 'good list'. We just didn't stay there for the nights of our reservation that we had made 3 months before.

We thought the hotel was in a great location and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are a bit old, but very clean. We did so much sightseeing that we were not in the hotel that often, but I would reocmmend it for a short stay. We were given a complimentary bottle of champagne because it was our honeymoon which was nice.

We enjoyed our short stay at the Mascagni. The front desk personnel were very helpful when the airline lost our luggage for several days. They directed us to area shops to pick up some clothing so that we could continue on to Venice. They also followed up with the airline on the status of our luggage. This was a big help because we do not speak fluent Italian and were having trouble communicating. We were glad to have someone to help us out. We had prebooked a stay at another hotel in Rome at the end of our trip and we were quickly sorry that we were not staying at the Mascagni again. The experience was just not the same! The folks at the Mascagni are doing a fine job and should be recognized for their ability to make guests feel welcome not only in their hotel, but in their country as well! Hazel Belinsky

This hotel is in a wonderful location. We had easy access to the Metro and all the ancient "touristy" spots and could still walk to restaurants. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly yet professional. Our room was perfect, quiet, clean spacious and very comfortable. We needed help with a lost wallet, restaurant reservations and airport connections. This was all handle with pleasant ease. Our sons made use of the high speed internet connection, so they didn't leave their friends or business behind. Breakfast service was consistantly terriffic with a better than average variety of European breakfast items. The Hotel Mascagni was a jewel.

We stayed at the Mascagni for 4 nights including a weekend. We were not expecting as much value for cost of room in Rome as we had experienced in other cities in Italy. This held true to some extent but compared to other Rome hotels the Mascagni was a better value than expected. The size of our standard double room was adequate, the decor very nice, the room and hotel were very clean, the staff very helpful and the hotel location was excellent for our needs and price. After all, it is located across the street from one of the best rated hotels in Rome.

Good middle class hotel. Very kind reception, a decent room( a bit outdated with all that dark wood), excellent breakfast and fine service, and excellent location. Price(220 Euro's a night for two in early May)still a tad high for what you get, but we might stay there again...

The service at the hotel was outstanding from the front desk, to the bellcap to housekeeping. They made you feel like royalty. The location near Piazza Republica was central, right next to the Metro stop. Additionaly the room was very nice; large by european standards and furnished nicely. I would definately stay at Hotel Mascagni on my next trip to Rome! Finally, the low prices we received from the web special were an added bonus!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mascagni, the service was first class and the breakfast very good.Luciano on the front desk could not have been more obliging and Josef gave us some superb recommendations for dinner. Very good value for money for a central city location.

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at the Mascagni. The English speaking staff was extremely helpful in arranging our outings from restaurants to day trips. The room appeared to be newly redecorated with just the right closet space and attractive furnishings. We've stayed at the big "Five Stars" and I can tell you the staff at most of these are far less friendly and helpful then the men at the Mascagni. Having travelled extensively in European cities, I would rate this little "four Star" a Five Star find for the money.
