This hotel was perfect for location and quite a large room for a European room. We had a triple and were quite comfortable. We walked to all the Roman sites, and the proximity to the Tiger river was fantastic for summer meals enjoyed outdoors. We did have trouble 3 nights with broken air conditioning. I wish they had told us that they could do no maintenance on Sundays instead of telling us they would "just turn the air down and it would be freezing when we got back". They did give us another room to sleep in. I understand it was not the hotel but the maintenance contractor who was not competent. The hotel was very generous in making amends to our bill for the inconvenience. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel. However, if you do experience any difficulties, I would speak directly to the Manager.

We enjoyed our short stay at the Kolbe Hotel. It was centrally placed, but quiet and peaceful. The central garden was a little eden in the heart of a busy and bustling city. I would stay there again in the future.............. Many thanks to a most helpful staff.

The staff was really helpfull. Breakfast is nice. Prices at the restaurant/bar a bit high... unfortunately because it would have been more than pleasant to stay at the terrace in the evening... even late! [Why putting the price that high when one would enjoy spending the same price or more on several items instead?]. Garden is more than pleasant! Location is quiet but not extremely convenient for common transportation (if you do not want to walk, up and down, 600 m to Piazza Venetia). The hotel is clean and service is at a high level. We were travelling with two kids. They enjoyed the stay and particularly the possibility to walk in the garden (and see the fishes in the fountain -- protected -- ) while we were terminating breakfast. If we had to stay again in Roma, we would certinaly consider this hotel again.

Hotel has a great location, near the Forum and Palatine hill. The hotel itself is modern, and that gives it a special touch. The restaurant at the hotel is also great.

the hotel is in the center of Rome, very close to the antic forum and the coliseum but not from the entrance; the metro is 10 min far and you can reach every thing by step. if you don't like walking more than 10 min or if you have child, it's better to reach a taxi. it has it's own parc with orange tree and lemon tree and fontain, so it's very calm and beautiful. our room was very quiet and the bed was upstairs in the room ! don't use the spa in the bathroom, le glass is not long enough ! we found a market open on saturday and sunday, 20 meters far from the hotel, with local farmers and organic foods, only known by Italians, where we bought all the food for gift and of course without a touristic price. we were there on the beginning of march and we had 1 day with rain ( they borrowed us an umbrella ) 1 day very sunny and hot and 1 day with grey sky. a modern style in a typical house

We arrived late at the hotel due to flight cancellation. The staff working that night was wonderful. However we had such an unpleasant encounter with a rude and abhorrent staff by the name of Alessandro. He raised his voice at me when I asked him what age does constitute a child. Although there were people at the reception, he was totally unprofessional somehow I felt that he was biased towards Asians. The towels in the room were not clean and the room was small. The heater at the bathroom did not work well so you freeze after a shower. We had a 9 yr old child and paid an extra of 40 euros per night for the stay. It was okay. When we checked into Mercure hotel in Milan, I asked if they required an additional charge for my daughter and they said it was not necessary. The Mercure staff Francesco gave us a lot of information to move around and was most helpful it was such a change from our stay in Rome. The Manager and the rest of the staff at Kolbe was nice though.

This is a fantastic hotel in Rome. Though its location is a little weird -- it's on the back end of the Roman ruins/Palatine Hill, and getting to/from the rest of Rome was a fascinating walk -- this was the second best place we stayed in Italy (after Novecento in Florence). The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the food, both at the complimentary breakfast and the hotel restaurant, was good by Roman standards (which are, surprisingly, very low). The room was a little pricey, but you do get what you pay for from this luxury hotel, and we would certainly return here the next time we're in Rome.

This was a nice hotel in a good quiet location, beside the Roman Forum, approx 6/7 minute walk from Piazza Venezia. We walked everywhere - though make sure you have comfortable shoes! Hotel room was small but nicely decorated. Comfortable bed, flat screen tv, jacuzzi shower in bathroom. Nice breakfast.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable but we could hear our neighbours very clearly in their bathroom - contrary to their web-site, the walls between rooms were very thin and not at all noise-proof. Breakfast was excellent. The location was good but not very central, so no good if you don't fancy a bit of a walk to and from the hotel. Overall, very pleasant.

Fantastic stay...hotel far exceeded my expectations!..room was very modern and spacious and loved the high ceilings...the shower was another highlight with several built in faucets in the wall and a rain shower head overhead!!.. ...the surroundings were also very pleasant. SUPERB quiet location with lots of great places to dine nearby and within walking distance of most sites of interest!
