We stayed in the newer annex which faced Termini station. We had outside tables of a restaurant near our only window which precluded us from opening it during the night. While the hotel advertized having AC, we were told that the system was shut down at the end of September. Given the outside temperature during our stay(70+ degrees) and our inability to open our window at night because of the noise and the smoking beneath our window, conditions in our room were very uncomfortable. The room also lacked a phone making wake-up calls impossible. The room was clean and functional, but minimalistic. The staff was professional, but not friendly and outgoing and the lobby made luggage handling cumbersome. Our room required access through three doors and our window had iron bars but no key to open in case of an emergency. These latter issues greatly limited egress from the room during an emergency.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It is a short walk from Termini station, making it convenient to anywhere in Rome. When I arrived, the receptionist, who spoke very good English, was very helpful and welcoming. He helped me with my bag. My room was ready, even though it was not check in time yet. The room was clean, spacious, and very nice. I was not expecting much of the bathroom, but it was also very nice. The shower had hot water, and they provided clean towels. The hotel is air conditioned. I was very impressed with the service, and would recommend this hotel to anyone. Definitely stay here!

The continental breakfast was plentiful and refreshed frequently. The wifi in my room was weak but the lounge had good coverage. Would recommend.

We had one of the newly renovated rooms, so it looked good, but it was quite small. Bathroom was nice to look at but the glass shower door wasn't very good, resulting in soaked floor everytime you took a shower. Breakfast was as expected and in good supply, but the breakfast room was a bit small so getting to and from the buffet required a bit of manouvering around other people and furniture.

Good location if you want to use Termini Station. However, the staff is not kind(excepet breakfast team). Room was small and had a bed smell. Internet was not included and was too slow. Breakfast was OK (no problem). We stayed there for 4 nights in Nov 2010. There is no public area (like a nice lobby etc).

First of all, despite some low marks, I do recommend this hotel. The rooms are small but sufficient and the location is terrific for access to the trains. HOWEVER, be careful what type of room you book. We reserved a superior double and got a tiny room whose tiny window was opaqued out with frosted glass, making a miniscule room even more claustrophobic. My in-laws reserved a regular double to save a few euros and got a beautiful room with a large, CLEAR glass window overlooking a lovely green space. I was told the hotel was fully booked and they could not (!) reduce the price of my "superior" despite it, clearly, was not. I presume they mixed our rooms up but they would not admit to it nor change my room. The front desk staff at that time seemed confused, clueless, unhelpful and arrogant, so be careful about what they offer you - might be good to see the room first if this is important to you. And DO NOT accept room 540 unless you are there ONLY after dark to sleep and are out before dawn. And do not pay for it as if it were superior.

I am always happy with this hotel! I have stayed here many times; I stay here only the night before I leave for Fiumicino airport, so I don't know how it would be for a longer stay, but I think it would be good. Very clean and friendly hotel. The breakfast in the morning was quite full and the eating areas were pretty small. There are no mini-bars and I had to go across the street to a real bar to get a couple bottles of water. The area is not exactly the greatest (we were confronted by a youth selling handbags who had less than kind things to say) but a bunch of great sites, stores and places to eat are just a couple blocks away.

The hotel was fine for what we wanted it for - to spend the night before we left the country. The noise level was more than anticipated. There were several people leaving quite early in the morning and for some reason did not use the elevator to bring their bags down. The thudding of suitcases on the stone staircase at 5am was a bit much, especially after having trouble falling asleep due to street traffic. Otherwise, the staff was helpful and the restaurant across the street convenient.

The lobby area was small and crowded but there were generous lounges nearby. The elevator was unusable for long periods on several days and the stairs were a limiting factor in accessing the room when the elevator was down but the management did make appropriate allowances. The room was small but fairly average for Europe but the bathroom /plumbing was very good. Good proximity to rail station and although the area was not unsafe it was not very interesting. Most attractions were easily accessible by walking although it is an hour to the Vatican and half an hour to Trevi.

It was convenient to the train station. The staff was helpful with tours and information. We were very disappointed that the staff would not allow us even to take a biscuit or piece of bread with us when we had to leave early before breakfast was served two mornings. The staff person was also very rude when we asked if we could take something with us. Also, on our first stay, we had two bedrooms and a large bathroom (much too large). On the second stay we had a small bedroom and a very small bathroom in which the commode was in a very awkward place for the same amount of money. We also think the hotel should provide internet access.

We were there for two nights. It was fine, but really a low budget hotel. No internet access in the rooms so you have to go to a commen room to get wireless. Breakfast was nothing special in over crowded tiny rooms. Sometimes the desk staff was nice and friendly, other times not. Bathrooms are tiny with little space to put personal items. Best thing I can say was that it very close to Termini Station, 2 blocks. And if you're there to see the sights and not to hang out in your hotel it is fine, nothing fancy, and in a good location.

We had stayed at the Kennedy previously and appreciated the location next to the train station. It is very convenient but the area becomes a bit seedy at night. This time we were given a room in the new section that was, by European standards, spacious and had a large bathroom with a modern shower (no tub). The room was well lit, very clean, comfortable for 3 people, and had a good deal of closet space. While we had minimal contact with the front desk, they were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very close to the termini railway station. It is very noisy from outside when open the windows. But OK when the windows are closed. The rooms (superior) are not so spacious. But rome is not a city to stay in the rooms. We leave the hotel normaly at 9am and we're back at 10pm (or later). We need the room only for sleeping. I spent many hours scrolling through hotels on venere trying to pick the right one, and it seems all my hard work paid off. Hotel Kennedy was everything that we expected, close to station termini - 5 mins walk, clean, friendly staff, great breakfast included - continental but all you can eat so perfect before a days sight seeing, and good value for money. I have stayed in Rome many times previously and know that accomodation is expensive and not always as good as you would hope for in the budget catagories, i now pay a bit more to be a bit more comfortable and less likely to be disappointed, and Hotel Kennedy will be where i go from now on. The only downside we were prewarned about in the feedback comments on Venere - it can be noisey, espcially if you get a room above the breakfast rooms as we did. The sound of the chairs being pulled in and out accross the floor reverberates up into your room - nothing that a pair of earplugs wont fix, and as we wanted to be up early for a full days sightseeing it didnt bother us too much. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and stay here again.

Hotel Kennedy is the perfect location for those travelling to and from Rome by train and who do not intend to stay for long. You must be a keen walker or organised when it comes to bus times, as all attractions/shopping/worthwhile eateries are at minimim 15 - 20 minutes away. The area surrounding the hotel is littered, dirty and full of weird non-Italian suspicious looking types. We did not feel safe there at night. The restaurants surrounding the hotel ought to be avoided - head over the river instead to Trastevere for a reasonably priced and quality meal. The room size was great, however, the 1m x 1m bathroom/toilet/sink area was unimpressive and a nightmare. The staff at the hotel were friendly and always welcoming. The breakfast was adequate and the coffee was lovely. The hotel had a lift which was very convenient for taking luggage to and from the room.

As a single traveller i was placed in a single room which was very small and extremely warm as the air conditioner did not work! The floor i was on was extremely noisy with doors of other rooms constantly slamming and echoing around the building. The shower was shocking, with the water cutting out completely during your wash the when it did work, the water was very difficult to regulate. Also if you were a larger built person you would never fit into the cubicle! Breakfasts were great and included which was a plus, as was the location being so close to the main railway station. One thing i found odd was opening a drawer of a desk in the room to be confronted with a variety of papers and medication of a previous guest!

Overall a good hotel, very easily booked through Venere.com. The hotel was very clean, although the room itself was quite small considering it was a superior. On arrival the desk clerk said we'd been 'upgraded to a superior'-when I'd actually booked this. The staff were always very helpful, friendly & polite. The hotel location was good, being close to the station & all the wonderful sights. My husband is a retired fire officer & wasn't keen on the 'means of escape' in the event of a fire & found the room numbers confusing ( 5th floor, room 558 ???), also the fire doors were pinned back & there was electrical items stored in the doorways. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone who was travelling with children under 10 years of age. If I were to visit Rome again, I would probably stay in this hotel, due to it's convenient location - but it would be great if they would put a mini bar in the rooms !

The location of hotel is very convenient, if you travel by train. That is the best quality offered by the hotel. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and the furniture are excellent! The food is OK. The staff is friendy and competent. Good chioce. I would reccomend this place, though the price seams to be a bit high comparing to the other 3* hotels in this area.

Hotel was easy to find. Handy to station. As we only had one day in Rome the position was ideal for us to get around to see most tourist attractions.

This hotel is proud of its renovation in 1963. Since then nothing much seems to have been done. Good variety at breakfast. I'll be looking for somewhere else next time I stay in Rome.

We were very disappointed in the Kennedy Hotel. We had stayed in another 3* hotel in Italy before arriving in Rome and standards were excellent but the Kennedy did not compare favourably. The website stated that drinks and coffee were available to guests but the bar was always closed and when we asked for coffee we were directed to a local cafe. The photographs on the website were well chosen to show only the good bits - the lounges were nicely decorated but the room was in need of some redecoration. The bathroom was disgusting - the shower had mould growing in it, the towel rail was missing and the sink was cracked. The satellite TV only had about 20 channels all with poor reception. We complained about the room but were not offered another room and the cleanliness did not improve during our stay. The hotel advertised money changing facilities but these were not always available. However the staff were very helpful with directions and recommendations for sights to see etc. We were also expected to pay in full on arrival, before seeing our room, which we were not expecting.

The Kennedy is very convenient to the Termini station and easy to find. The desk personel were friendly and helpful and all spoke English. Our room overlooked a wooded square which was pleasant. There are many restaurants close by. We had to catch an early tour and they served an early breakfast to us and when we left to catch an early flight, they gave us a breakfast to go and made sure a taxi was waiting for us. I would recommend this hotel.

We were highly delighted to arrive and find we had been allocated "the Suite", which having two bedrooms gave us more space to spread out, although one bedroom was quite big enough. This is a very nice hotel, clean, well run, spacious and with friendly staff (mostly English speaking, which was good for us), it is within a block from the side entrance to Roma Termini railway station, where you can also reach the excellent Metro system, the "all you can eat" breakfast was really nice, with quite a variety of croissants, breads, biscuits, fruit juice, cereals etc etc, served in 3 pleasant breakfast rooms. We were really pleased with the Hotel Kennedy, and will definately use it again, the only thing I would say is that it is not cheap, though not expensive, but for the location and service excellent value for money.

Just as described on the website and chosen as a result of reading the reviews left by another family. The suite of 2 rooms with one main door was ideal for our group of 2 adults and 3 kids. Breakfast was adequate although I feel that they could have served better than instant coffee in an Italian hotel of this quality. Tinned fruit, long life baking and processed cheese was a bit of a let down.

Sauberes Hotel mit reichhaltigem Frühstück. Klimaanlage funktionierte tadellos. Netter Empfang durch den Nachtportier, der uns gleich mit Prospektmaterial versorgte. Sehr nah zu Termini gelegen ebenso zu Maria Maggiore. Wir kommen wieder!

I chose to be by the train station, so I knew there would be some street people/drunks. I never felt unsafe and would stay in this area again. The hotel was easy to find and the staff was courtous. My only complaint is the paper thin walls. Adequate bathroom, large breakfast. There are so many hotels in this area, I will look for one that is quieter next time. There is a laudrymat/internet connection around the corner from this hotel.

My only recommendation would be to offer a little something different at the breakfast buffet. Some sort of egg (soft boiled or scrambled) or any type of meat would be a good start. Also, I would recommend a more "kid friendly" cereal (fruit circles, oat rings etc.) However, the hot breakfast drinks were great to wake up to. Overall, we had a great stay in Rome at a terrific location. I will recommend Kennedy to anyone who I know that is considering a trip to Rome.

we are 2 80 year olds but had no problems as the airport train took us to the hotel in 20 minutes and the Kennedy is 2 blocks on the side of the terminal. we checked in within 5 minutes walk dragging our bags. Breakfast was milk, expressio, cappuchino, american coffee, milk, orange juice yogurt, croissants, rolls heated no less cold cereals and 3 dining rooms wth plenty of crackers cheesesetc. The elevator worked flawlessly, the shoers wer veryhot and the blankets and heat were vwey hot. staff spoke excellent english and all guests seemed pleased. On 1 to 10 It is at least 9. Wespent one week there and they gave us early entry by noon.

The price was right. The lobby was shabby. Rooms were small, clean overall and utilitarian. The shower I had a slow drain, so I didn't turn on the water full force, and flood the bathroom floor. The room had a small working TV, although CNN was advertised it was nonexistant. But I didn't go to Rome to watch TV anyway. The bed was very comfortable. There was an excellent breakfast of assorted bread, pasteries, yogurt, cereals and great coffee. Overall, the hotel workers were very pleasant. A good budget choice, but except for the breakfast not 3 stars. By the way, the pictures are deceptive.

The location is great for those relying on the public transportation. The hotel is close to Termini railway station and within walking-distance to Colosseum or Roman Forum. The room we stayed at had a fine view and was clean, but not very comfortable because of its smallness and a little cheapish furnishings. The biggest problem was the extremely small bathroom. We had some difficulty taking a shower. As for the "All You can Eat Buffet" breakfast, the quality of food was poor. However, our overall stay was all right considering the price. Hotel Kennedy is recommendable, I think, to those who want to stay near Termini station on a budget.

Hotel Kennedy is a smart choice for a traveller that wants to explore Rome on foot. The hotel is very close to the Colosseum and the main railway station and therefore also to the subway (Metro). The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. I would certainly stay at Hotel Kennedy again, if I get the opportunity to re-visit Rome.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Kennedy. The staff was excellent, very professional, very helpful and accommodating. The room was perfect: quiet, clean, with a decent bathroom. I was there in the heat of the summer but with the airconditioning, it was very comfortable. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to be near Termini. Bear in mind that train terminal environs are typically unfortunate and the neighborhood around Termini is no exception. If you understand that, though, and want to be near the train station, the Kennedy offers excellent service and accommodations for the price and puts you one minute from Termini, walking time. I would use them again, without hesitation.

We were surprised with the quality of the accommondations given the area of Rome that the Hotel Kennedy is situated in. After traveling throughout Italy for two weeks, we were expecting very small rooms and no air conditioning, and a very limited breakfast. However, we were more than comfortable in individually controlled air conditioning in a two bedroom suite with a spacious bathroom and more than accomodating hosts. Well worth our recommendation.

This is supposed to be a three star hotel, but only the room reached that standard. Everything else was more like a two star hotel. Arriving back to hotel on first evening there was a strong smell of burning kebabs in the reception area which followed us up to and into our room. Our first floor room was directly above the breakfast area so we were wakened by the sound of chairs being shifted around, at about 8am. Not a total disaster though, the room was nice, hotel is in a nice quiet location and very handy for central train station -- and Rome is fabulous!!

For a single traveler this was an excelect base. To get to the hotel from termini was childs play as its in the next street. You will have to do a lot of walking to get to the sights of Rome but for me this was great as I saw things I would have missed had I got a taxi. The only thing that was not 100% was the noise level, while this was not loud enough to keep me awake, or complain about, I did find it irksome when I was relaxing in the room. The breakfast is a selection of serials and/or cold breads with drinks brought to you table by the very frendly staff whose level of English was far far better than my Italian. When I go back to Rome I will not have to think twice about useing this hotel.

We had a really nice stay at the Kennedy's. The rooms aren't spacious, but comfortable. Every room has a TV-set, not the newest models, but sufficient for watching news. The (quite European) breakfast is good (included in the price), various types of cereals, breads, yoghurts, jams... One of our rooms wasn't cleaned thoroughly (dust), but the staff is really nice when informed.
