Excellent location, friendly staff, great breakfast. Only negative points: Wi-fi didn't work too well in the room and there was a smell of cigarette smoke wafting up from the courtyard.

My fiancee and I had a great stay. The double room and the executive room where very spacious. The staff very helpful, we even got early check in. The location is perfect, we walk everywhere and also there are buses (even to airport) and a subway station 400 m away. Is very close to Piazza Navonna and Vatican City. For dinner go to Hosteria di Memmo. The only problem the room service in the mornings is a bit noisy. And in winter the roof top is a bit chilly, but none of that will tarnish the great time we had. Definitely will come back... Thanks

This hotel is in the Praiti area of Rome close to the Vatican. Most of the main attractions, piazzas, Spanish Steps, fountains, etc are located across the Tiber River. You can access these by walking across one of the many bridges. It is a trek however if you are looking to just run out for a quick bite. The more upscale restaurants and shopping are near the Spanish Steps as are the pricey hotels. The restaurants in the Praiti area are more family oriented. Not the best but lots of food or pizza. My husband and I stayed in the hotel twice within a week. We stayed for 2 nights, went to Venice and then returned for 3 nights. The first room we had, 512 was definitely better. It was larger and quieter. It was in the back and had a tiny balcony off the bathroom. When we returned I requested the same room but it was not available. We ended up in 503 which is directly under the restaurant. Avoid that room unless you don't plan on sleeping. Every morning a 6am we could hear them setting up for breakfast and scrapping the chairs across our heads. Saturday night there was a party in the restaurant with loud music until 1am. As far as the food is concerned. Breakfast was good. They had an omelet station, fresh fruit, cereal and breads. You could even get fresh squeezed OJ. We made mistake of going to the restaurant for dinner one night. The buffet of antipasto was awful. The seafood taste like it was just cooked in seawater. The steamed mussels they bought out were very salty. The pasta course was just OK. The steaks we had were also just OK. I truly did not feel I got my 30 Euro worth. The hotel is attractive and clean for the most part. We stayed here because our son was studying abroad and his apartment was two blocks away.

Breakfast on the roof terrace is wonderful, but be prepared to wait for your (very)small coffee - I am used to a Costa sized latte. Check in was supposed to be available from noon, but we (and the couple who arrived just after us) were told 2pm and there was nowhere secure to leave the luggage. The photos imply there is more internal public space than there is. However the location is great and the view from the terrace is unforgetable. I would stay there again.

We were two adults and two teenaged children, stayed in 504 and 500 - 504 was a corner room with two sets of windows and small porches, great cross ventilation, but a bit noisy, large room, kids loved it. 500 was smaller, on interior courtyard, one small balcony. Best thing was the roof top restaurant for breakfast and dinners. Great cook, delicious dinners with grilled sea bass and a buffet of delicious fresh vegetables, view out to the dome of St. Peter's - altogether a wonderful spot. Good location for walking and public transportation. Very friendly and competent staff. We loved it and will use it again when we are next in Rome.

WE THINK THAT HOTEL ISA IS THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY THAT WE FOUND IN ITALY. IT IS NOT OVERBEARING WITH GRAND PRETENSE. IT IS QUIETLY ELEGANT AND THE ESSENCE OF ITALIAN TASTE. SURPRISINGLY MODERN INSIDE, THE ROOM HAD UNBELIEVABLE STORAGE FOR SUITCASES AS WELL AS A WET BAR AND BEAUTIFUL MODERN APPOINTMENTS IN EVERY RESPECT INCLUDING THE BATHROOM. WE LOVED THE SIMPLE WAY THE RESTAURANT WAS OPERATED AND ENJOYED HAVING EVENING MEALS THERE ON THE TERRACE.

Room was great, breakfast was fabulous. Front Desk booked us a tour that was awful and did not do anything to compensate. Tour Guide was terrible and we had to line up at Colessium for an hour because they did not have appropriate papers on hand. I had been to Rome before and had done this tour with a competent tour group and it was great. I was disappointed in how the hotel handled a booking that they recommended and we paid in cash for at the hotel. The assistant at the Front Desk at the day of our departure was not willing to go out of his way to acomodate guests either. Other than that the hotel of itself and the restaurant were great.

Quality hotel, great location, walking distance to St Peters, Piazza Navona and many top sights. Front desk daytime service very professional, slightly less so evenings. Breakfast great, but in early May no lunch or dinner service. Could be more generous with bathroom towels and amenities, but willing when asked(double room for single use). Hotel has much potential and opportunities for development and the design is clever and refreshingly modern amid the marble history.

Great location, and staff were very helpful with directions and recommendation for dining. Elevator small, and up a few steps from lobby - made handling luggage a challenge. Room (larger one) spacious, with nice bathroom, and small balcony (no view, though). Room needed a new coat of paint, but clean. Breakfast fine, but quite chilly at 07:30 am on the rooftop.

We have been to hotel twice, location is good and rooms are nice though our room this time was small for 2 people. Staff are pleasant and breakfast is excellent. My only complaint is that our bathroom was freezing cold (in February). Bathrooms need proper heating, curtains at windows (our bathroom had large window) and mats on floor.

Hotel outside is a bit grim and dated, the lobby area is small and there is no bar or storage room for the bags so they all just lay there if you need to leave them between check out and your flight. The rooms however were an exquisite surprise, beautifully designed and fitted (with the exception of the bathroom-taps in the shower almost impossible to figure out by two otherwise smart and well-travelled individuals, and faucet on sink too high up so when you wanted to wash your hands you were rather provided with a shower). The location is superb, 3 minutes walk away from the Vatican and St. Peter's, the breakfast was a feast and the breakfast terrace with full views of St. Peter an unexpected bonus. If you want a well priced nicely designed, clean and well appointed hotel in Rome, with a very un-italian breakfast, then use Isa.

The hotel clearly looks recently renovated in a good styled quality. The size of the room is medium, although some (Americans) can value it as too small. Internet access is possible only at ground floor. Public parking is dramatically difficult, unless one is extremely lucky (and parking tickets are requested). Garages in the surroundings are reported to ask some 25/30 euros per night! Excellent sight from the breakfast room.

Long weekend visit including New Year's Eve 2007, with my wife, sister-in-law & her husband. Great location for the sites, we walked to them all (poor feet!). Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. Plenty of local restaurants, though the mixture of hot food and cold plates was not to our taste. Beware the taxi cost from Ciampino - wish we had booked a transfer with the hotel.

Great stay!! Recommend the exclusive rooms, they are several times the size of he standard room and well worth it. We stayed for New Year's eve and stayed on a few days, the staff were great, the breakfast was very good and the location only a slight way out of the way. Overall a beautiful find, thank you Venere. One note, the free wifi on the room is a very weak link. If staying in touch is important, you will not be able to rely on the wifi.

This was our first stay at Hotel Isa. Our first impression was of the elegant marble lobby and modern, upscale decor. Unfortunately, our room was not ready at our check-in time of 12:00, (We arrived at 12:30-1:00 PM) and we were told the room would be ready in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later, we ask again how long it will be, and we get the same response: 10 minutes. About an hour later we finally checked into our room. They have an interesting energy efficient light system that we needed instruction on right off the bat, but other than that the room was adequate in space, the bed was comfortable, and it was decorated in an eccletic, unusual style that did not blend with the modern elegance of the lobby. We had two disconcerting recommendations by the hotel staff on both a restaurant and with arranging our shuttle service to the airport. The restaurant (A small seafood place around the corner from the hotel with a wax figure in a wheelchair out front, I kid you not!) had very good food and service, but charged tourist prices for everything not listed on the menu. The shuttle they arranged was actually a man driving a rundown, older model car who supposedly agreed to a total price of 47.00 euros to take us to the airport. He was unsatisfied with that after we paid him the agreed upon amount. So I would say in our experience, the Hotel staff let us down a bit for the price we paid for this hotel. On a good note, the generous full breakfast (sausage, eggs, pastries, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, etc.) is served in a lovely room on top of the hotel with a magnificent view of the Duomo of the Vatican. That in itself makes the stay almost worth the price. If the customer service had been better I would stay there again.

Ok, this is a nice hotel, but you have to be v careful - the basic rooms are tiny although nicely decorated and v clean. If you want some space you have to go for the delux rooms. They dont have bar or restaurant, but there are plenty in the area. The lift is poor & slow, but the highlight has to be the breakfasts - there is a gr8 view from the roof top restaurant over Rome & Vaticani and food selection is good - they will make you a fresh capuccino while u wait! Enjoy!

We found the location in the city to be very convenient and central (between the Vatican and the sites across the river). The staff were very friendly. In the morning of our stay, my sister in law, who stayed at a different hotel, came to find us; we were out taking a walk so the hotel staff took her to the rooftop terrance and provided her with a free breakfast while she waited. The Isa proved to be an excellent hotel, that my wife and I recommend with great pleasre. The room are not large, but excellently appointed, with a high standard of bespoke fittings. The bathroom also, was fairly small, but again, a lot of thought had been taken with the design, and it lacked nothing: the standard of finish was excellent - the Italians are masters at working in marble. But the highlight had to be the dining room. It is on the roof terrace, with views of the Vatican and Castel St Angelo, and is graciously appointed, like a rather sumptious marquee at a 'society' wedding, complete with flowers and plants that added to the ambience. And the choice and quality of the food was amazing - wine and chocolate gateaux for breakfast?!!

Hotel Isa was a impressive establishment. Each floor has a custom theme (modern, classic, etc). My room was very impressive with a large projection TV, jet bath tub, multi head shower, etc. The location was fabulous, and the staff was helpful. I would definitely recommend the facility to others. Only negative- my fancy TV had issues- I could not change the volume (It was constant) and their skynet satellite channels were lacking (they have a very basic and virtually useless array of channels). This is the only negative- dont watch TV much, especially in Rome, so I consider it minor.

Hotel well located for Vatican visits. Breakfast room on roof terrace excellent with wonderful views of city especially Vatian dome. Renovation still going on in lobby area, but was not obtrusive, and once done will make area very nice. Was on 5th floor with lovely small balcony accessed by double doors, but for most part traffic noise kept doors shut... but then was in center of Rome! Room was quite large by Rome standards; bathroom also good size with good tub/shower. Air conditioning could have worked alittle better, probably due to high ceilings. Several typical Italian street cafe/restaurant very close serving good food. Vatican was nice 10 minute walk. I am travel agent who can sell this hotel to individuals or groups with no problem. Staff very helpful and hospitable.

Overall experience was excellent. The breakfast buffet included with our reservation was excellent and definitely compensates the type of room we received. The pictures posted regarding rooms were a little bit deceiving for the two twin beds as requested, but as mentioned before, the full breakfast buffet offsets the very small two twin beds room space received by my mom and I. The bedspreads were outdated, but the current ongoing remodelling and renovations show great potential. I was impressed with the bathroom size we received in our room. It was one half the size of the bedroom space we got and it was very clean and all the bathroom amenities needed were there (even a weighing scale). The view of the the St. Peter's Cathedral dome from the breakfast veranda on the sixth floor was spectacular. All the staff members were very helpful and friendly. Banks, public transportation, and places to eat and see were in very good walking distances. We will definitely stay in this hotel again if ever we get a chance to go back and visit Rome. I am looking forward to seeing the "finished product" after all the remodelling and renovations are done at the hotel because just by the looks of the updated hotel lobby bathrooms, I will consider it as a four-star hotel and not the three star rating it currently gets.

Hotel Isa is well located and in easy proximity to various sites, including the Vatican, the Piazza del Popolo, the Piazza Navona, the Piazza di Spagna and others. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, with good restaurants. My biggest problem with the hotel is that they misplaced our passports and made no offer to reduce our bill by the amounts we had to pay to replace the passports. We returned to Hotel Isa (after spending some time in Florence) to spend our last night in Rome before returning home. The hotel had our "lost" passports, which they returned to us, indicating that they had given them to other guests in the hotel by mistake. Their only compensation for the trouble was a "Mi dispiace." Other than this situation, I would recommend the hotel. Although i speak some Italian, they spoke English. I would definitely stay in the hotel again.

The hotel was very comfortable and friendly. Breakfast was good, some days were better than others for selection of fruit and quality of eggs. The 5th floor rooms were vulnerable to the moving/scraping chairs of the earlybird breakfasters (on the 6th floor). There is still some construction going on in the hotel so some members of our party on the 3rd floor were slightly bothered by that noise. Overall it was a great choice, easy walk to the Vatican but also walkable to the Spanish Steps.

The Hotel Isa was clean, quiet hotel with an outstanding gazebo-covered roof-top buffet breakfast included. THe fresh-squeezed orange juice, meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit, breads, cakes, etc. were outstanding, and you could see the top of St. Peter's from the roof. The staff was very nice at all times. They did not have any record of our registration thru Venere.com, but were able to give us a nice large room with 2 double beds that was very comfortable (except the AC never gets as cold as Americans like it). The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was fine with a stand-up shower. I would highly recommend this hotel and found it to be a very good value.

In general, we found the hotel very good. Very well located, very good and clean installations except area close to the reception which had remodeling work in progress. Breakfast compares with similar hotels we stayed in Europe was poor with dificulties to get coffe or juice. Service at the front desk was always good.

Our room lacked warmth/comfort and wasn't exactly user friendly. The air conditioning didn't work. The staff was excellent and very helpfull.

Though the entrance was not so good, the room was very good. Fully equipped, silent and spacious. Employees were kind and friendly. The negative points were its surroundings (there was few restaurant) and smallness of the breakfast place.
