excellent value for money. Very big room, nicely decorated, very clean, very central location. Very helpful staff: we were two adults and a child and got an extra bed for the child for free. Breakfast could be improved.

We booked this hotel on the spare of the moment. We had not been to Rome before, and booked a Quadruple Room for three nights. We found the hotel, excellent value for money, welcoming, clean, good location for sightseeing, and a reasonable continental breakfast. Would definately stay there again.Be aware when eating out that most restaurants add a service charge of anything up to 20%.

Easy walking distance from Termini, yet far enough away from the seedy parts. Reception staff were pleasant and spoke english which is a big bonus. Breakfast was actually very good. No hot food but incl cereals, boiled eggs, cheese, pastries, juice, tea and coffee (coffee not great but passable). It's a typical Italian breakfast. There's a cafe/restaurant across the road on the corner I wouldn't recommend. Food is "OK" but expensive, and they want you in and out quickly so the can get another lot of people at the table. They add 12.5% service charge on top of the bill and then look for a tip.

The welcoming was really bad. When I arrived the receptionist was having a heated argument with another guest which did not give an especially good initial impression. When he finished arguing with the other guest, I was the next in the queue but the receptionist chose to help another person who had arrived after me. I was so surprised that I could not say anything at all. It took them about 8 hours to "process" my passport which at other hotels is about 2 minutes. When I asked to use the internet at the hotel, the receptionist told me to come back after 5 minutes when his colleague would also be back. I waited in the lounge area and went back when I saw that his colleague also arrived - and the only thing he needed to do was to give me a card with some instruction and tell me to pay 5 euros. I do not understand why he could not do that straight away without making me wait. On the good side: The location is very good and central and the room was quiet. The breakfast was OK.

I stayed in Rome for 4 days sightseeing with 2 family members. The spot where the hotel is located is very central and easy to navigate. The hotel staff were very friendly with the exception of the staff at reception, but we didnt spend much time in the hotel just to sleep. I would really recommend this hotel its clean, central and a great price.

My friend and I made reservations from Florence for Hotel Impero last minute through Venere.com. We were very pleased with our stay. The staff is friendly and helpful (and can speak English very well). Breakfast is free and a tremendous help to those traveling on a budget. The rooms are very clean, secure, stylish, comfortable, and quiet. The hotel is also strategically located near Roma Termini.

Hotel Impero is located a few blocks from the train station. My room was very clean, neat, and larger than I expected. The lobby and public areas are spacious with beautiful marble floors. The staff was friendly providing a map of the city and information about the area. The hotel has a shuttle service to the airport at a very reasonable rate. I will stay at this hotel on future visits to Rome.

This was a nice stay. Rooms where sized ok, not the biggest and not the smallest. We stayed in 3 different hotels on 3 different stays in Rome. This hotel ranked in the middle. The bed was comfortable and the Air Condition rocked. We visited in August so that was a real plus. The Breakfast was ok. Coffee, juice, and pastries. The hotel is located close to the train station and within walking distance to all the major sites. If you spend most of your time exploring the city and use the hotel as a clean safe place to stay, you will do fine at Hotel Impero.

We travel around different cities in Italy but we started and ended in Rome so ended up staying in two different rooms at this Hotel. The first room was a double, it's small but very confortable, everything was clean. The shower was relatively small but we actually thought they made an excellent use of their real state. Overall it was very confortable. The second time we stayed in a triple, this room was super spacious, high ceilings, several mirrors (perfect for 3 girls!) and the bathroom was a bit dark but very cute! The staff was friendly and very helpful!! Overall I loved it! It's also centrally located, a few blocks from the train station, metro station, bus stop... and in the restaurant across the street, they have the best capuccino!!!!

The location of the hotel was great. However the hotel had an awful odor. I can't explain what the smell was but it was old & stinky. I would NOT stay again at this hotel. I think it was too pricey for what it offered. The staff wasn't the most welcoming & the breakfast was really bad. The smell alone killed it for me. Plus the bathroom sink & the shower were defective. We spent 11 days in Europe and the other hotels were great. So I had other hotels to compare & I am not picky but when a place smells that is just awful.

The hotel was average. The rooms needed paint and the floor appeared to have not been cleaned prior to our arrival, nor did they receive any attention during our three night stay. I was given a confirmation on line for the three nights I booked and then the rate was changed for our Friday night stay by the desk clerk. I thought a confirmation locked in the rate, apparently not! It was upsetting to find they locked the motel doors at night and the desk clerk had to unlock the door to let us out the last morning when we needed to leave. Breakfast was okay. Nothing expectional!

Location is close to the main train station, which is great along with an easy access to Metro train. Price per quality is quite alright for a big city like Rome. Room is quiet and clean (although its style can be updated). Bathroom is not that big (seems to be a norm for hotel in Italy?). Breakfast is on par, but without any prosciutto ;-( Staffs at breakfast should be more discreet when working during their guests' breakfast hours.

The hotel is not perfect but clean and the relation quality/price is very good. The location is perfect, just 5 minutes walking to the main train station where u can find every bus going everywhere and around 10-15 minutes walking to the city centre. Breakfast is not bad but could be better, some more salted things for example. But in Italy they usually eat sweet things, in this case, perfect. The last day one can leave the suitcases there without any problem. We were 8 people and we stayed 4 days in Hotel Impero. We all were very happy with the hotel, the location and logitravel. Hotel Impero is directly in centre of Rome, only two mins from termini station the hub of transport. If your a walker then you can reach all sites except Vatican by foot, not a walker then catch a bus to all sites and you there in mins. All buses leave from termini so you really are five mins from all sites. A great hotel for people wanting to see all the sites then relax in comfort in the evening. Breakfast also the best buffet I've had. Usually there is only a few bits at buffets but loads of choose at Impero with real orange juice instead of that watered down squash you get in almost every other hotel in Europe. Overall a fantastic hotel, only con is the noise at night. But if you want to stay in the centre its inevitable.

Impero was small but very clean and with gorgeous ornate interiors. Rooms were small but nice and great location! Staff were very helpful and spoke a variety of languages. We found the price was well below average for the quality. The way a small hotel should be run. My mum left her driver's licence and when we came back a week later they made sure to give it to us to return to her. We also had to cancel a room at short notice due travel illness and the staff were very accommodating. We ended up staying 4 nights after originally booking for only 2. You can easily catch the Metro to go out to the Vatican or the Coliseum take a bus anywhere in Rome. It was about a 15-20 min. walk to Trevi Fountain and maybe 20-30 to the Spanish steps. The hotel was very clean and the bathroom was hige for European standards. It was relativly quiet even though we were in a room on the street, only one night did we hear very much street noise. We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of March 2008 - we had a fantastic time. Although it is a little on the expensive side, compared to the majority of hotels in Rome in peak season it is very reasonable. Room was clean and spacious with quite modern decor. The bathroom was clean and pleasant, with a decent shower. We had a room overlooking the piazza and the opera house which was nice but could get quite noisy when the window was open - this is to be expected with a central location. The location is great too - near Termini, but central enough to be able to walk everywhere (the Vatican is a little further, but the metro is good). Breakfast was average, but Italy is not big on breakfast anyway and there are plenty of nice cafes around to grab delicious sandwiches, coffee etc.. Would definitely recommend this hotel - good value for the money.

We stayed at the Hotel Impero 3 nights. The front desk is open 24 hours and the people (both day and night) went above and beyond to help us with sights, directions, and stored our luggage for us for free until we were allowed to check in. Also held it for us when we checked out so we could grab something to eat before we caught our train. Very centrally located. Watch the beds, though. Our room was a double which turned out to be two twins pushed together. We spent the first night "avoiding the crack". Also, they offered wi-fi but it was very expensive and extremely slow. We ended up using one of the internet cafes nearby instead. Very inconvenient.

We were very happy of this hotel. Only one remark: please choose another kind of fruit juices, those are undrinkable...

I had a triple room as I had my 13 year old daughter. The single bed was a fold down seat type that was comfortable and took up little room. The room was clean and got plenty of light at the front of the hotel but without letting in any noise, on the third floor anyway. We only had hot water 1 morning out of four however and this was a comman problem apparently. It was luke warm at other times. Breakfast was the usual roll, coffee, cheese type.Another word of warning if you have a twin/double room it has no windows as it is in the center of the hotel - check this.May be worth the extra cost of a triple as this was good value. Good position for all the sites but hard to find without a good map on arrival. Recommend this hotel for being near to rail station, clean and with resturants near by, walking distance to most of the well known sites.

Really, really excellent hotel for the money. I do not understand why many websites make such a problem of staying in the Termini area. We like walking and Impero is within easy walking distance of everything (10-15 mins to Colloseum for instance) and yet no problems with street noise, etc. Area felt quite residential and not overrun with tourists. If anything the hotel undersells itself. The website doesn't even mention that there is a rooftop garden, tabletennis, reception staff who speak very good English, The Opera next door. We were maybe lucky, but we got a room which was extremely spacious and overlooking The Opera. Our only point of criticism would be that the breakfast let the place down. The bread was fresh enough, but there was no fruit or anything else healthy and the coffee was dreadful. Nice cafe just down the road... Thouroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel with a convenient location to train station and comfortable walking distance from historic sites. Roof top room had a delightful view, alas no table or chairs to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

The staff has very good english, which makes it easy to communicate. The area is close to Termini bus station and to Piazza Republica. it is definitely not scary at night. there are plenty of restaurants and hotels on the street. Breakfast is basic, but good enough.

Only one adverse comment- the toilet was the highest I've ever sat on and the toilet seat was broken. This not very major problem did not spoil my stay here, and it certainly wouldnt stop me staying here again.

Io ci tornerei.

Room was fine - small but generally clean though floor had some rubbish on it by the french door. Reception - welcoming and friendly and breakfast was good. Only complaint is lift was exceptionally slow and only held up to 3 people which is a pain when you call it and it has a couple in already! Good value for money, ideal for train station and close to Trevi etc. Would recommend for the budget traveller.

If it wasn't for the bathroom shower's lack of keeping water in the tub/shower area i would have given it a higher ranking. the hotel & room, for the most part, were above average for the price.

Arrived at hotel and room given was dirty and AC not working. Asked for another room and was told that had to move my luggage myself. I was traveling with my mother. There are lots of steps between floors. People in hotel not welcoming and friendly. I would not recomen this property. If you need more info send me to my eal009@yahoo.com

The Impero Hotel was nice. We chose it mostly for the proximity to the train station since we were leaving the next day. If you are wanting to visit the attractions of Rome, I would choose a place closer to the attractions. The room was spacious and clean, except for the walls. We had a smoking room though so that might explain the dirty walls.

It was the first time I've stayed in Rome, and Hotel Impero was a good choice. Near train and underground station, just like I've seen in the web page. The staff was very gentle. I would come back to Impero

My niece and I had a very pleasant stay at the Impero. Our room was tiny but kept very clean throughout. Nights were always quiet and we slept well, even though our room overlooked the street. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is convenient to transportation. Breakfast was a bit crazy and not very good, but of course there are plenty of other options out there. Overall, a very good bargain for an off-season visit.

The location of the hotel is excellent and very convenient from the termini. The rooms were clean. However, the bathroom is very very small. The rooms are not sound proof.

This is a very pleasant hotel with very pleasant staff. The rooms are clean and quite a good size. Breakfast is reasonable. The hot water in the shower didn't work while I was there. One problem - some English vistors on two different nights re-entrying making quite a noise; a lack of basic good manners.
