The hotel has currently being restructured. We were staying in one of the rooms not yet redecorated and in fact you could see that the bathroom was particularly in need of it. Furniture was somehow old, though clean. The hotel is in an excellent position. The paid a discounted price thanks to Venere and the room as it was deserved it. The full price and particularly that for high season cannot be paid for that room, maybe for the new ones. People at the hotel were very friendly and kind especially the concierges; breakfast was very good.

Rome is a very busy city and the hotel is located right in the middle of it. The is in a great location to the surrounding sites, but you do get a lot of street noise.

The situation is worth the price. Breakfast correct. Helping staff. Some rooms may need doing up.

Fantastic hotel, in the heart of Rome, so close to Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Navona, commerce and public transportation.

The position is perfect, but the room they gave us was below my expectations

We stayed here for 5 nights. Even better than we had hoped. Location is perfect! 2 mins to the trev. fount. However, for the ladies... Do not think that the random man giving you the roses doesn't want anything for them. They will stuff them in your hand and then refuse to take them back without money. My partner gave him some cash and then he demanded more until my partner stood up to him and said that is enough, he backed down. I did see one girl put them on the ground and walk off. The breakfast was really good. Try the yogurt moose, yum. The only bad things about this hotel are the cleaners while you stay are not very good. The room was spotless when we arrived but during our stay all he did was make the bed. And, the guys on the front desk are helpful but you can stand in front of them for 2 mins before they will ask you if you need something. Email at the hotel is a good deal. 5 bucks for your entire stay if you ask for it at check in. However, it is a little slow. The taxi rank is a 20 second walk, great resturants all on your door step. All in all a great base for your rome holiday.

Bed was extremely hard, and there were no extra pillows. Heating was stuck full on, even when the thermostat was turned right down, so I had to switch it off entirely and open a window to get a bearable temperature (lucky it was March). Price was a bit high (we were uprated to the "luxury" rooms on the fifth floor), but reckon the rate we paid was too much for this level of accommodation, so I hate to think what the normal rooms were like. The lift was ancient and very unreliable - it was out of service for more days than it was operational, which is not good. Unlikely to return based on value for money - the rest was ok.

Staff was really professional and helpful. Public areas (except the breakfast area) were almost inexisting. The Hotel is being renovated: if you get one "new room", lucky of you. If not (as it was my case) be ready for the typical "Rome hotel experience" (small and old overpriced room). Nevertheless, the location is really convenient and people in the front desk very helpful.

We stayed in Room 304 and did not get a good night's sleep the entire visit due to the noise. The AC did not work, the room was at times hot & stuffy but we couldn't open the window due to the noise.
Italy, Feb 2008
the hotel is located in a central position, near the most important monuments and shops in rome. in front of it there is a square where you can find bus and taxis and the metros in Spagna or Barberini (on the line A) are very near. breakfast is rich enough, the rooms very cleaned and the bathroom comfortable. We had some problems with the elevator that is too busy and not all the employers seemed interested in talking with us!

Great location in old Rome - close to many sites and Via Veneto, as well. The hotel was very nice - trendy and very clean.

We spent 17 nights in Italy and France and overall this was our favorite hotel. Not as grand as some, but we really enjoyed the hotel. Great location, helpful staff, best morning coffee. Lift was a little slow but who cares. We were on 3rd floor overlooking busy street but earplugs work. Bathrooms are large compared to most.

Our first time in Rome and we could not have chosen a better hotel for our time in Rome. Around the corner from the Trevi Fountain, a short walk to the Spanish Steps, just around the corner from fabulous shopping and restaurants. Nice room, nice breakfast, efficent staff... Great hotel, great city!!

very clean, spacious and sort of modern designed room, friendly and helpful staff, nice building accomodation in the very heart of Rome, underground and bus station nearby. the only bad notes were the close church bells ringing early in the morning and the lousy guests next door making noise, the old fashion elevator was too small and tight

The main two problems that I had were that the room had a cigarette smell in it, and it was to dark.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, the location excellent, walking distance to all major sites and bus service at the door. The street outside carries incessant heavy traffic, very very noisy in front facing rooms day and night.

Hotel is located on the northern edge of the Trevi Fountain area on a rather busy street. Whether we hotel in the Trevi area or not, we tend to be drawn back in the evenings for dinner and passagiato. While the street was a bit noisier than I would like, the hotel did have heavy shutters and curtains to help quiet the room down. A good value in the Trevi area. I would actually ask for a rear-facing room at this property.

We booked on line based on guests evaluation. We were very pleased with the hotel and would certainly recommend it. The location is very central. The breakfast more than adequate, served in a charming rooftop dining room. We would have liked more time to relax over breakfast; Perhaps next time. Our one negative comment: the towels are quite a bit thinner than what we are used to and it took quite a while to get the hot water running. After awhile I ran the water in the bidet and that seemed to help. All in all it was perhaps a little better than we expected.

Without a question, this hotel was amazing - from breakfast to the location, everything was great. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Only steps away from the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps. The hotel staff was very polite and gave us some advice on where to spend New Years Eve. We would recommend this hotel without a question.

Excellent deal for a Rome hotel though busy location makes it difficult to stop the car long enough to unload. On the other hand, it is within walking distance of almost anything you'd want to see. Room 404 was modest in size but otherwise very nice though it did take us a will to master the sound and lighting controls. Breakfast in rooftop dining room is very pleasant. One disappointment was absence of English-language TV channel. Our Italian is that good.

A very central hotel. Making most of Romes attractions assecceable by foot and bus. Only down side is the nose from traffic on the main road.

great value for its location, with good rooms. Try and get rooms on 2nd or 3rd floor so you're not too close to the street, or alternatively around the back of the building. Breakfasts are great, high quality buffet that sets you up for the day. Great location, 5 mins walk from Metro line. There's an internet cafe close by too. Minibar prices were very reasonable, so much so we had two small bottles of sparkling wine for 6 euro total I think (!), and local phone calls again were dirt cheap. Friendly staff, good english speakers. Overall a really good experience - highly recommended. I really hope you don't write this review off as a fake, because you'll be missing out on a relative bargain!

Location was perfect .. for both day and night time activities ... walk to almost everything ... other than that this place was terrible ... the usual "I'm doing you a favor" desk folks and the breakfast lady was a nightmare .. rude to the bone .. not a chir in sight to sit on even in the room we got on the 4th floor with a balcony had no chairs in the room or on the balcony. Bathroom was small and the shower leaked badly. Not one common area at all not even one single chair to sit on anywhere ... found myself standing around waiting for service with out fail ... and then when I did get someone to pay attention to me and our simple needs they were rude and quick with us. If I had it to do over than I would spend more and stay in a nicer place ... this one cost a lot but I'd have paid more for any kind of service and friendlyness ... if it wasnt for the location it would have been a complete bust.

Location very very good. Breakfast buffet very good! Room was quiet and clean. Satelite TV had only one english speaking channel (CNN). It would have been nice to have had a selection especially in this modern age!! Overall I would return to the Tritone because it was so central but the Star Rating system is out of step. The cost is 4 Star for a 3 Star rated hotel which would only get 2 Stars in Ireland.

The location is great (just a few steps from Fontana di Trevi), employees ready to help you and you can have breakfast overlooking the roofs of Rome. Moreover, we had booked a standard room and have been assigned a superior(5th floor): a great present! This is really comfortable and freshly renovated. Finally, a good breakfast with very good croissants.

The fact is that this hotel is ideally located if you wish visit Rome famous place by foot. When booking, ask for a room at the 4th floor, there are recently renovated... that was not the case of the 1st floor when we were in, and infortunately we had a room at the 1st... really noisy room, but with good confort. Very good american breakfeast.

We found the hotel pleasant and welcoming, and the facilities as described. The location was excellent for us, with most areas within walking distance, and the hotel were very helpful at organising taxis. One of the three rooms we booked was slightly lower than expectations, the other two were excellent. Showers in all the rooms had a bit of a tendency to flood, and the towels could have been bigger! One of the rooms was quite noisy, the other two were fine. Breakfast was good for the type of hotel, and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location close to the Trevi and with walking distance to most sites in all directions (Spagna, Villa Borghese, Navona, Campo dei Fiori, Forum, Colosseum, Trastevere, etc). Several buses just outside and short walk to Metro. Small, but nice top room with balcony. Could have done with a more comfortable chair. Attractive breakfast room with plus buffet (a little more than plain continental) and pleasant roof top view. Fair reception area, but no lobby. All in all a good 3-star hotel to a moderate price. Can definitely be recommended because of its perfect location.

The Tritone is located near the Trevi fountain and convenient to a central bus stop. It looks like your standard 3-star hotel, but we had a newly renovated room that was a total suprise when we opened the door -- it was very sleek and scandinivian, with modern trancy/meditationy music piped in! There were volume controls in the headboard and the bathroom, but we found that we left it on until it automatically went off around 10 pm. Very cool! The staff were helpful and the breakfast was wonderful -- a full spread eaten with a 6th-floor view of the neighborhood. We would recommend this hotel.

There are different kind of rooms. You have to ask for the better ones (on 3rd and 4th floor). Rooms of the 1st floor are rubbish. The roof garden is excellent. No lobby (it's impossible to have a rest without going at room).

Excellent location. Lovely roof top dining room providing super breakfast. Rooms a little tacky but then the hotel is in the process of refurbishment.Reception area minute and somewhat unwelcoming.Despite these minor criticisms we would have no hesitation in staying at the hotel again especially after the refurb!

This hotel is a very good one, specially its location. The only complaint, but I am not sure if it is about the hotel services or those of Venere.com, is that when arriving the reservation was not made. In accordance with venere it was OK. Anyway, I got a room.
