We were two couples travelling, and one double room was really ok, recently refurbished, the other one definitely not, and that made the difference especially in the bathroom

We stay for 17 nights in Rome. We were not happy with the first room we got: it was noisy, the mattress was very old and there was little space. So we got a second room which was much better: it was quiet, there was enough space, the bathroom was separated by a door, we got two armchairs (one by person)and one of the mattress was good (the other wasn't too much comfortable, but we didn't want to change again). The people in the hotel were very very kind and smiling. The breakfast was good with various things. The hotel was very well located. Globally, we are satisfied.

Hotel Torino is in an excellent location, handy to Termini station, yet in a quiet street. It was good value for money for a stay in Rome.

The front desk staff at the Torino is excellent. After a 20 hour flight they found me a room at 11am so I could rest. The hotel itself is OK but the room showed signs of wear. Sheets had a hole, carpet old, furniture old, good bed. It is in an EXCELLANT location. One block to termini (main)train station, 2 blocks to plaza Republica (fancy stores and hotels), and on a street of tourist hotels where Internet cafe, restaurants, and a coin-op laundry are available. Other hotels on this hotels street may be a better choice for a long visit, but Torino is perfect for a day or two.

As usual hotels in Rome are overpaid, and service is not really their strenght... and this one compared to the rest (in rome) is OK. However still overpaid for the service it provides. In details + really closed to train station + breakfast room on top of the building, and when the weather allows one can eat outside and have a great view - breakfast is uneatable (really bed food and drink quality) - personnel for breakfast unprofessional and unsufficient (we had to clean up and prepare our own table!!!) - matrasses very unconfortable - room fornitures of the 70th - water pressure in the bathroom very low (a challenge to take a shower)

First time in H.Torino. Max 2 star hotel in my mind. The walls are moulding, the shower cabin is moving in one of our rooms. The hair dryer becomes hot within 20 seconds. The odour in the bathroom is foul. No hot plates for breakfast, the lady in the breakfast room does not speak English (nor German, nor French). The boiled eggs were green and brown and foul. Pre-ordered breakfast boxes were not available at our check-out time. High temperature but no fresh air in room 424.

Great location! Great recommadation of local restaurant by friendly gentleman at desk on arrival! Central city has got to have a little traffic noise at night, Humidity was high during our stay- End Feb.-but overall public transport close by and so many disired areas within walking distance, made this a wonderful stay! We do not know what the negatives comments were about or what the submitters were looking for. We will use this hotel again. Irish Joe & the 2 Sr.(all retired)

This is not a 4* hotel. The sheets were changed once in 7 nights; the safe in our room was broken the entire stay; the bathroom had mildew and no ventilation; the room itself was not as clean as expected; and the reception staff (one of three) was not courteous. For positives - the hotel was quiet and the breakfast was excellent. The neighborhood (near Termini) was also excellent.

It may be a 4 star "italian style" hotel, but service was excelent, and its very close to roma termini train station. Room was comfortable, although a bit spartan. They even hold our bags for our last day in Rome, no charges extra. Thanks hotel torino!

My second time staying at Torino, this trip for a week, always saw a smile coming across the front desk and alway helpful with directions and recomendations. we really enjoyed the staff in the breakfast room every morning, always remembering what we wanted after just the first day. easy access to termini and the metro, and lovely great little bistros within blocks. I highly encourage travelers to consider the Torino

I stayed in Torino from several nights in Octuber and that was nothing of a 4-star hotel that I had expected. The single room was really small and the bathtub was really tiny! The location was good since it was 3-minute-walk from the main train station and bus stops. All the service was not terribly bad not just basic. I would´t stay again there because it was hell expensive for how it was.

We are a family of four (including two daughters ages 20 and 17) in Rome as a family vacation. Venere was recommended to us by another user and we were more than satisfied with this travel site and with the Torino Hotel... thank you for the posts of others. A couple of posts were not too flattering but now I feel they were more a relection of the personality or expectations of the writer than the hotel itself. Most posts were positive and ours will certainly be at the high end of those who had a recent positive experience. Again, the central location to Termini, to the next door Internet shop, to both the tour and city buses, to the local grocery store in Termini and another one 2 blocks from the hotel, all made the location superb. The hotel was clean, staff helpful and the roof garden was a special treat each morning... the breakfasts were amazing. Enjoyed the pigeons as well!

Our reservation was confirmed for a quadruple, but we were given two doubles for the same price. Rooms were large, very clean and nicely decorated. Bathrooms were very nice with marble floors, large mirrors, hairdryers, large towels. Shower door and shower curtain would not keep water from flooding onto the floors, no matter how the showers were used. Staff was abrupt, did not tell us that we had to return the keys to the front desk everytime we left the hotel until we returned one evening. They would not let our 15 year old son up to the room without the key in his possesion. I imagine this is for security purposes, but it would have been nice to know when we checked in. The staff was either not helpful, not knowledgeable of the vicinity of the hotel or just wanted us to use the hotel's services. We asked staff if there was a launderette in the vicinity and they said no, and informed of us of the hotel's laundry service. We found a nice launderette on the same street as the hotel only 3 blocks away, which had been at that location for 14 years, listed in the Rick Steve's guidebook. Breakfast on the rooftop was nice and there was an ample selection. The hotel is only a few blocks from the Roma Termini train station in an area with many small hotels. Metro station is at the Termini. Open tours also start at the Termini. Colleseun, etc., two metro stops from the hotel. Many shops nearby.

The Torino is well located near Termini station, close to the Opera House, and with a wide choice of cafes and restaurants nearby. There are a few steps to reach it from the street, and steps again to a type of mezzanine level for the lift. There did not appear to be a porter. My single room was just that, and the single bed would have been uncomfortable for a person of more than average height and/or weight. The rooftop breakfast location was pleasing and the breakfast itself ample. What is not well known is that guests may use that area at other times of day for relaxing e.g. writing postcards, reading, etc. The reception staff were helpful in booking tours, and with advice for a woman travelling alone as to areas of the city to avoid.

This hotel was very convenient for my needs. I was only in Rome for a couple of days at the beginning and end of my trip, and stayng near the station was handy. The rooms I got were tiny but comfortable and clean. I was pleasantly surprised by the location. There were several restaurants on the street with outdoor tables, and it was pleasant.

It was a very nice stay, rooms are clean, rooms have Balconies, Rooms have an excellent energy, the option of opening the windows and let the cold air in is great to me( hate Dry hot air) and the one remarkable thing about the Torino, its reception staff is super, super, courteous always a smile. Great place to stay if you hate the onslaught of tourist and like to walk to the major tourist sites.

I thought this hotel was very good for the money and location. With Termini Station nearby, all the great sights of Rome were only a short ride away on the Metro. I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The only criticism I had was the noise. Unfortunately, there was construction taking place to the building next door to the hotel, which began at 8am each morning. I realize it was out of the hotel's control, but it was inconvenient. I would definitely stay there again.

We found the accommodation excellent, highly recommend a return visit to the Torino Hotel. The Desk Manager was very helpful in dispensing good advice on "value for money" restaurants. The in house Bar was not in operation, but with a lot of alternatives adjacent to the Hotel, this was not a problem. The breakfast on the roof top terrace was particularly good.

My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days in Rome. Our hotel was in a great location for a lot of the major sightseeing areas. Around the corner is a place to rent motor scooters for those areas a little farther away. One suggestion is to not stay on the floor right below the floor where breakfast is served (6th floor?). In the morning you could hear them preparing - in what we assumed was the kitchen. Overall, it was a terrific experience and for the price, it was well worth our money!

Very good central location for a sightseeing weekend in Rome. Only two minutes from Termini Station. Very good continental breakfast with a variety of food to suit everyone. We reccomend requesting rooms on the seventh floor which have a large patio/balcony with table and chairs, garden swing and lemon trees. There are only three rooms on this floor which are next to the breakfast room. There was a minimum noise from the kitchen, that was a small price to pay for the extra outside space attached to the room.
