The breakfast room on the top floor is lovely and the breakfast itself is very ample. There is only one word to describe the rooms, however - GRUBBY!! The top of the bed had a cheap cloth covering with unsightly stains. There were holes in the wall where lights switches had been clumsily replaced. The wall paint was peeling in several places. Clearly a place trying to save on its maintenance budget at the expense of its customers' comfort. I would rank it a 2-star rather than 4-star hotel.

The hotel is very good, location of the hotel is excellent, any remarks to services or staff. However, there is one fact that ruins this overall impression. It is low pressure in house water system. It means that it is very very very difficult to use shower in higher floors especially cold water.

My room was foul-smelling, and the whole place had a slightly run-down, tired feel to it. It is located in an area of cheap, budget hotels, and lousy restaurants. Okay if you just need a place to stay for a night, but not so great for a Roman holiday.

We stayed in the hotel for 6 days - 144 euro per night is too much for the room and breakfast that we got. Moreover, there were some deficiencies in the room: 1. Low pressure in the shower. 2. Toilet was moving (strange). 3. Breakfast was not enoght varied. 4. 14'' TV, which didn't work properly. No free Internet. You can buy a card for five euro, which gives you two hours of wireless internet.

We stayed here twice and think Hotel Torino is an excellent value for the money. Mattresses could be updated with better quality, but linens and towels were fresh and plentiful. Only thing we would have liked is accessible ice for cold drinks and use of the rooftop area for evening drinks.

good location near Termini; rooms were clean but very small. (much smaller than picture in the add). The man at the front desk was not very welcoming; made us wait several minutes despite being the only people there. This problem was compounded by the fact that you were required to return your room key every time you left the hotel which meant having to wait to pick up the room key when you returned. Depending on who was at the desk you had to wait a very long time as they seemed unwilling or unable to multi-task. The breakfast was very good and you are able to eat on the terrace which was nice. Overall, it is good value for money and good location but don't expect speedy or even polite service.

This is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. Pluses--excellent location when using trains, good breakfast with large selection, nice breakfast room and outside terrace for eating. Negatives--We were in room 701-very loud noise from kitchen starting at 5:30 a.m., no hot water in evenings for showers, one towel rack in bathroom for three people, there were broken tiles under the carpeting that moved as you walked across it, the safe was not attached to anything so it could just be picked up. Upon arrival the temperature in our room was near 35C, and the maid had just finished cleaning it. I am puzzled why she didn't turn on the AC, knowing that we were waiting downstairs to get into this room. With all the many hotels in this location, I would not recommend staying in this one.

only 2 minutes walk from Termini Station. The receptionist was very polite and always ready to fulfill our requests. Our room was on the ground floor and was very clean but not spacious at all. The road is not very busy so the hotel has decent quiteness. The breakfast was ok with everything you expect at this kind of hotels, the breakfast room is on the 7th floor, a nice terrace with view over the city. Overall a very good price/quality relationship at a very good location near Termini Metro Station.

During my one night stay at the Hotel Torino, I dealt with three different people at the front desk. All of them had the personality of a wet dishrag. Apparently, they undergo no type of customer service training whatsoever. The price I paid of 110 euro was far more than the room was worth. The hotel is a very short walk from the Stazione Termini, which is why I chose it, and I suppose the rooms are adequate for a one night stay. The shower was, however, a horror. It was nothing more than a platform with a drain and an ill-fitting curtain. By the time I had finished hosing myself off, there was water everywhere in the bathroom, which even flowed into the room. I guess that's why the parquet floors are wharped.

Close access to Rome Termini and busses on via Cavour. Excellent breakfast buffet with large choice, possibility to breakfast on roof terrace. Many restaurants close by. No free wifi access, but rates for buying access are very reasonably priced. Given the location in the center of Rome, excellent value for money. Definitely a candidate for a next visit to Rome.

I thought Hotel Torino was very good money for value. I was in Rome for work. It is a very practical location close to major public transport, I was given a quiet room, staff was friendly and breakfast good (by Italian standards). TV addicts might find the number of available channes limited... I'd definitely recommend the place.

We stay for 17 nights in Rome. We were not happy with the first room we got: it was noisy, the mattress was very old and there was little space. So we got a second room which was much better: it was quiet, there was enough space, the bathroom was separated by a door, we got two armchairs (one by person)and one of the mattress was good (the other wasn't too much comfortable, but we didn't want to change again). The people in the hotel were very very kind and smiling. The breakfast was good with various things. The hotel was very well located. Globally, we are satisfied.

The front desk staff at the Torino is excellent. After a 20 hour flight they found me a room at 11am so I could rest. The hotel itself is OK but the room showed signs of wear. Sheets had a hole, carpet old, furniture old, good bed. It is in an EXCELLANT location. One block to termini (main)train station, 2 blocks to plaza Republica (fancy stores and hotels), and on a street of tourist hotels where Internet cafe, restaurants, and a coin-op laundry are available. Other hotels on this hotels street may be a better choice for a long visit, but Torino is perfect for a day or two.

As usual hotels in Rome are overpaid, and service is not really their strenght... and this one compared to the rest (in rome) is OK. However still overpaid for the service it provides. In details + really closed to train station + breakfast room on top of the building, and when the weather allows one can eat outside and have a great view - breakfast is uneatable (really bed food and drink quality) - personnel for breakfast unprofessional and unsufficient (we had to clean up and prepare our own table!!!) - matrasses very unconfortable - room fornitures of the 70th - water pressure in the bathroom very low (a challenge to take a shower)

First time in H.Torino. Max 2 star hotel in my mind. The walls are moulding, the shower cabin is moving in one of our rooms. The hair dryer becomes hot within 20 seconds. The odour in the bathroom is foul. No hot plates for breakfast, the lady in the breakfast room does not speak English (nor German, nor French). The boiled eggs were green and brown and foul. Pre-ordered breakfast boxes were not available at our check-out time. High temperature but no fresh air in room 424.

This is not a 4* hotel. The sheets were changed once in 7 nights; the safe in our room was broken the entire stay; the bathroom had mildew and no ventilation; the room itself was not as clean as expected; and the reception staff (one of three) was not courteous. I stayed in Torino from several nights in Octuber and that was nothing of a 4-star hotel that I had expected. The single room was really small and the bathtub was really tiny! The location was good since it was 3-minute-walk from the main train station and bus stops. All the service was not terribly bad not just basic. I would´t stay again there because it was hell expensive for how it was.

We are a family of four (including two daughters ages 20 and 17) in Rome as a family vacation. Venere was recommended to us by another user and we were more than satisfied with this travel site and with the Torino Hotel... thank you for the posts of others. A couple of posts were not too flattering but now I feel they were more a relection of the personality or expectations of the writer than the hotel itself. Most posts were positive and ours will certainly be at the high end of those who had a recent positive experience. Again, the central location to Termini, to the next door Internet shop, to both the tour and city buses, to the local grocery store in Termini and another one 2 blocks from the hotel, all made the location superb. The hotel was clean, staff helpful and the roof garden was a special treat each morning... the breakfasts were amazing. Enjoyed the pigeons as well!

Our reservation was confirmed for a quadruple, but we were given two doubles for the same price. Rooms were large, very clean and nicely decorated. Bathrooms were very nice with marble floors, large mirrors, hairdryers, large towels. Shower door and shower curtain would not keep water from flooding onto the floors, no matter how the showers were used. Staff was abrupt, did not tell us that we had to return the keys to the front desk everytime we left the hotel until we returned one evening. They would not let our 15 year old son up to the room without the key in his possesion. I imagine this is for security purposes, but it would have been nice to know when we checked in. The staff was either not helpful, not knowledgeable of the vicinity of the hotel or just wanted us to use the hotel's services. We asked staff if there was a launderette in the vicinity and they said no, and informed of us of the hotel's laundry service. We found a nice launderette on the same street as the hotel only 3 blocks away, which had been at that location for 14 years, listed in the Rick Steve's guidebook. Breakfast on the rooftop was nice and there was an ample selection. The hotel is only a few blocks from the Roma Termini train station in an area with many small hotels. Metro station is at the Termini. Open tours also start at the Termini. Colleseun, etc., two metro stops from the hotel. Many shops nearby.

The Torino is well located near Termini station, close to the Opera House, and with a wide choice of cafes and restaurants nearby. There are a few steps to reach it from the street, and steps again to a type of mezzanine level for the lift. There did not appear to be a porter. My single room was just that, and the single bed would have been uncomfortable for a person of more than average height and/or weight. The rooftop breakfast location was pleasing and the breakfast itself ample. What is not well known is that guests may use that area at other times of day for relaxing e.g. writing postcards, reading, etc. The reception staff were helpful in booking tours, and with advice for a woman travelling alone as to areas of the city to avoid.

My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days in Rome. Our hotel was in a great location for a lot of the major sightseeing areas. Around the corner is a place to rent motor scooters for those areas a little farther away. One suggestion is to not stay on the floor right below the floor where breakfast is served (6th floor?). In the morning you could hear them preparing - in what we assumed was the kitchen. Overall, it was a terrific experience and for the price, it was well worth our money!

The hotel was near mainstation, metro station and the city tour. I think it was perfect to discover Rome. Also very good was the breakfast. It was not a typical italien breakfast instead it was a great buffet.

Very good central location for a sightseeing weekend in Rome. Only two minutes from Termini Station. Very good continental breakfast with a variety of food to suit everyone. We reccomend requesting rooms on the seventh floor which have a large patio/balcony with table and chairs, garden swing and lemon trees. There are only three rooms on this floor which are next to the breakfast room. There was a minimum noise from the kitchen, that was a small price to pay for the extra outside space attached to the room.

We had an excellent long weekend in Rome staying at the Torino. The location is perfect, the room was very spacious and extremely clean, the breakfast was superb and if you get the last minute prices it is well worth the cost.

Hotel warsauberund gut.

Very conveniently located near the train station; average italian ****-quality; one of the receptionists was at one time unnecessarily unfriednly to my wife.

A good hotel, close to all the sites that Rome has to offer. My only problem, and this is true af all of central Rome (not just this hotel), was the lack of parking facilities.

Very small room, shower that got whole bathroom wet (old). Much construction going on. I think they're in process of upgrading some areas.
