Overall, we found this hotel to be a good value and the room very comfortable. The staff went out of their way on several occassions to help us out. Their breakfast was excellent, and the hours 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., were very helpful on a few mornings when we slept in. My(small) caveats with this hotel are as follows: 1. Shuttle service books up fast...they have a very comfortable 7 passenger van, but was frequently booked...you really needed to book it two days ahead of time, which was a little hard for us to plan. Which leads me to: 2. The hotel, while quiet, is really out of the way, and inconvenient to get to.... 3. When we finally got around to using the Dining Room at the hotel, we made our reservations with no problems....then when we went down to dinner, it turned out the while restaurant was booked for a private party, including the lounge, and we got shoved into this smallish back room...then the kitchen was "out of supply" on the first two entries we ordered... the whole dining exerience was a little dissappointing.

our room was a suite at €400 a night the sofa bed could have been better it was pretty awful. The food was lovely and staff fine. It states use of a nearby gym but doesnt mention it costs €32 to use it. The free shuttle has to be prebooked and is often full and people dont usually know what time they will want to come home at.The air con is centrally controlled and although we requested the temperature be lowered it didnt happen. All in all pretty good but I have had better value for money.

We had an excellent stay, just be carefull of being collected by the shuttle bus, as even if you are two minutes late it will not wait, even though at times it could be seven minutes late in picking you up. Sychonize watches with the driver before you get out. Very expensive to eat at the hotel.

Very friendly, the staff spoke very good english. They arranged restaurants, taxis etc, that we requested and advised of various places to go. Our stay was over the new year and there was a complimentary shuttle provided by the Hotel which would take us into the city centre and also pick us up!! The hotel is in a residential area not far from a fantastic park. Very quiet and easy access to public transport.

From the moment we arrived at Hotel The Duke we were met by courtesy and efficiency. Not only were we directed to the nearest - very good - restaurant, having arrived late for lunch, but the room we occupied was far in excess of our expectations. It had a king sized bed and a wonderful balcony. One can only appreciate the quiet and peacefulness of Rome from the unique position of Hotel The Duke and the sunrises and sunsets were some of the most wonderful we have seen on our world-wide travels. After the fantastic service at breakfast, nothing was too much trouble for the shuttle bus drivers (principally Luigi who was marvellous, thank you!), including really valuable advice about where to go, what transport methods were most effective and who REALLY provided great meals! In addition, once we had returned after 6-7 hours' exploration of Rome, we were able to relax in the extremely comfortable air-conditioned room with lovely en-suite. Afterwards, retiring to the Hotel lounge, we were lucky enough to have Fabrizio serving us with pre-meal snacks and such enthusiasm about the food and drink provided that we are sure he will go on to greater things and eventually run his own hotel! Every single member of the dining room staff - from the waiter who discreetly collected my fallen napkin to Fabrizio who tentatively delivered Gaeta olives, dips and olive oil REALLY appreciating feedback, made our stay one of the most special we have every had at any hotel in the world. To say we would recommend this hotel is the understatement of the decade!! Room service and cleaning was also superb, as was the sheer attention to detail to each and every customer. Well done and thank you Hotel The Duke and you can be sure we will be returning and recommending you to everyone we know - Mr and Dr Mofrad.

Great hotel for a family of 4. It's not walking distance to any major attraction, so each trip will cost you about 15 Euros, unless you reserve and take the shuttle into town. One computer near lobby for internet access, but can purchase WIFI for in-room service. Breakfast was good. Rooms compared nicely to a Marriott in the US. 2 flat screens, very helpful staff. The sent little treats to the room for no reason at all. We recommend staying at the duke, especially if you are a light sleeper. Small shop 3 doors down is great for water and necesseties. We bought our dinner from here one night and it was great.

The hotel is average. The room was nice. The bed was a little too firm. I expected a better lobby. The elevators were a little worn. The hotel is located a little too far from all the attractions. The junior suite is roomy. Via taxi it costs about 10 to 18 Euro's to get into the city depending on what time it is during the day. They do offer a shuttle that drops you off by the Spanish steps that runs every hour until 9 nish. The staff however was very friendly, the breakfast crew was great. I suppose the hotel would be an okay option if it was not located so far from the city center.

THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL ! HOWEVER , THE CARPET IN THE BEDROOM WAS VERY DIRTY AND REALLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED . THE COURTESY BUS WAS WONDERFUL - GREAT DRIVERS -BUT THE LOCATION, ALTHOUGH VERY QUIET, WAS REALLY VERY FAR FROM THE CENTRE OF ROME, WHICH WAS VERY DECEIVING ON THE MAP.BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL WAS VERY GOOD , BUT THERE WERE NO GOOD RESTAURANTS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE HOTEL . IF THEY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE CARPET IN THE ROOM, I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN!

Inspite of booking at the last minute, I was very fortunate to find the Duke. Far enough out of the centre of Rome to avoid all the usual tourist rubbish, but close enough to get an authentic feel of Italy, the overall rating must be excellent! Friendly, efficient and all that we could have wanted. . . I will book again.
