A room without comfort, wall, windows and blinds were dirty, only a outlet. the opening into a courtyard femêtre noisy, no comodities and a toilet in the corridor while common length with a tiny corner without shower mixe water. Romm without ventilation. Only the building is nice and the area well placed from the Termini railway station. I cancel this facility that looks more like a hostel than a hotel

The staff was competent and friendly, Rudolfo provided us with a bit better looking room. Also nonstop reception is very useful. But the owner of the hotel probably don't care about his(her) clients. So the rooms are in completely desolate condition (in very deed). I do not recommend this hotel to the people who care where to sleep. We're young couple and not a bit high demanding!

Hotel situated near the railway station - good location. Room with bathroom has only shower but it has no WC!!! There are only 3 tables for the breackfast and breakfast itself is very poor. But anyway we liked our stay in Rome beacause we only slept in our room.

The staff of the Hotel was very professional and very kind. I was able to use the Wi-Fi in my room. I did'nt have any problems when I came back alone from a party in the night because the position of the hotel locates at the place near the palace of the president of Italy. I definitely will come back the hotel.

They forgot to tell that creditcard was not accepted! very quiet hotel. Doors, wallpaper, etc in very bad condition! There is a ' bathroom' with toilet, but it so small that its almost impossible to use. Not a hotel for a romantic stay in Rome. Only for single traveler who doesn't care about how the room looks like

The hotel was well located and the staff were pleasant. However there were boxer shorts hanging over the shower door on arriving in the room. I booked a room with shower assuming that meant a shower room with WC but it was literally a shower and WC was shared down the corridor in a very old and poorly maintained bathroom.

A ÉVITER ABSOLUMENT.

Pictures on the web do not correspond to actual room we got. It was utility room converted to bedroom, with window far aside. Bathroom utterly appalling as the rest of the room. Hotel is far overpriced and I suggest to anyone who wishes a decent stay to spend some more money on better hotel or take cheap hostel, rooms are for sure the same if just far cheaper. To conclude that Texas is a big rip off!

Three nights in Rome - first time in city. Rooms were not clean, dirty walls, bathroom disgraceful hardly even a bathroom, fridge didnt work, ceiling fan loud and looked like it was going fall off the ceiling. No free shuttle from the airport as advertised, breakfast was 1 piece of cardboard-like bread+coffee in front of the reception. Only positives were fresh towels daily+central to rome. Disgraceful for the price.

The hotel is located on the the 3rd floor of a multi-use building. The signage is a little confusing as to which way to go after walking in the main door off the street. The common area/breakfast "room"/reception area is extremely dark and dank and uninviting. The hallway to our room was pitch black and everything in the hotel looked extremely run-down. A little effort and some paint would go a LONG way to make this place more inviting.

We were a group of 7 girls on our first trip to Rome. Having had an appalling journey there the welcome we received at Hotel Texas was much appreciated. The night porter was extremely helpful and welcoming and he also spoke English very well which was a bit of a relief at 3am when my Italian is quite poor. We had one triple room and one quapruple room both on the same floor with private showerooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable and good value for money. The location of the hotel is ideal for seeing the sites of Rome being a short walk to the Trevi Fountain and have the Metro literally just around the corner. Despite our stay being only a couple of days we had a fabulous time and the hotel was ideal.

I booked a double room with separate beds. However, the room given to us must have been a single room with an extra bed. The room was the smallest double room I have ever seen, and nothing like the ones shown on the web page. The daily cleaning was in fact very good, but the room still appeared very dirty due to the fact that no major renovation of the room can have taken place for decades. Anyway, the hotel was conveniently placed and our room was very quiet, even with the window open.

as expected the Texas hotel was a floor in a 19th century building. Rooms have beds that are sufficient and the bathrooms are poorly equiped: very small shower (italians are just a little more petite than northern Europeans!) with sticky curtain. A continental breakfast at Texas is surprisingly okay. More than one bun, you can choose your flavour of jelly, but the coffee is very much american... no taste at all. Make sure you have a copy of your reservation with you. They tend to overbook and you'll need proof you made a reservation. (this goes for any Italian hotel, by the way)

Advantages : central location, close to railway station, friendly staff, rooms on the inner court are quiet, the hotel is clean. Mostly used by young foreign customers. Drawbacks : a bad price/quality ratio (although Rome is known to be expensive). For 100euros, we had a tiny room, with a shower in a corner, and a double bed as unique piece of furniture. Everything is old and needs to be fixed. The kind of hotel they push at the maximum before starting serious repairs.

Do not be fooled by the photos! They are usually accurate, but this hotel was slightly squalid, and I am not sure how it would get a 1* review, let alone the 2* given. Sorry to say it really was a dump, but at least was quiet and the bed clean. Peeling wallpaper, cracked plaster, damp everywhere and a strange smell, ancient broken furniture. Communal bathroom disgusting and hard to use due to squalid appearance! Miniscule shower and filthy damp everywhere on the ceiling. Perhaps rooms with own bath were better - pay the extra, dont go for a room without bath! Place looked like a firetrap. Dreadful breakfast of buiscuits and coffee. VERY dissappointing after what I had come to expect from Venere.com, very very poor and would not reccommend at all. Would use Venere again but would be more careful next time re the photos. Those shown for Texas are DEFINITELY NOT for the rooms without bath, so dont be fooled!!

When leaving Termini in your back turn left and walk for about 500 meters. Then turn right towards "Piazza della Republica". When arrived at the Piazza (there is a rotary) leave the rotary on the left street (downhill). Follow this street for about 150m and turn right when reaching McDonald´s! (this is the first or second crossroad). You then have reached the Via Venetia. Texas lies on the other end of this street on the right side (vis à vis with the Ministry of Defence) All in all this way should take about 10 minutes. When we arrived we needed about 2 houres in the pouring rain.... Hope this location plan is going to help you!) Apart from that the Texas is a fi

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful in assisting us in getting around and planning our stay. The hotel is very close (less than 5-10 minutes walk) from the main bus terminal, train station, 2 metro stations, and a tourist info center and also close to several other main attractions. The room was adequate, but not as nice as in the pictures. Everything in the room was much older and more "used" than in the photo. Breakfast was a rolls, milk, OJ; nothing to rave about, but it saved us from having to spend time and money finding something else. I'm undecided as to whether we'd stay there again, I can't help but wonder if I couldn't find a better deal for the quality of the room now that I know the city better. But it was a good choice for our first time in Rome.

When in Europe we stayed at a number of hotels through the venere website, this was by far the worst we encountered. The condition of the building on the inside was appaling. There were holes in the walls, the doors and locks were falling appart, there was no hot water in the mornings and breakfast was not edible. We do not recommend this to anyone. It was a pricy hotel that deserves a 'no star' rating.

I had to leave this hotel after one-night stay because the quality of my room was below any acceptable standars. I had eserved double room for two persons and two beds (not twin room with only one bed). Unfortunately it was one bed with only one pillow (!) (the second one was given after my complaining), without any towels (!!!) (as above). The room was dirty, with a very old equipment, without TV, with wash-stand out of order (I was informed not to use it). There have been problems with hot water. But the most unpleasant thing happened after my attempt to pay for the first night only and to leave the hotel. I was trying to pay before this first night informing that I did not want to stay longer and I was going to leave next day in the morning (after the first night). I was informed that it is impossible because I had reserved the room for three nights. From documents I knew that I had to pay for the first night if did not come at all. But I did and wanted to pay for this night, only for this night. It was a very unpleasant talk. Finally my money was accepted, I received a bill and leave the hotel. And I am not going to use it in future for any money.

We were very disappointed with the accomodation being a very small room, the breakfast service was poor to non existent, there were apparently 28 rooms in the hotel and only 3 tables for breakfast, we did eventually have breakfast in our room. The reception when we arrived did everything we asked of him and we could not fault this individual but the rest of the staff were not very communicative, but there again I cannot speak Italian so why should they speak English! The helpful one arranged 2 very enjoyable trips for us for which we were very grateful. What the description of the hotel did not tell us on the internet was that it was on the third storey of an apartment block. The room was very small and the condition of the room was in a distressed condition to put it mildly. But we had a good holiday in spite of the poor accommodation. The couple who came with us were absolutely disgusted with their accommodation and will vertainly not be booking through yourselves again.

The first night we arrived, the room we requested (full amenities) was being fixed due to a broken showerhead I believe. However, the host went out of his way to make us happy and show us what room would be immediately available. I was very impressed with his hospitality. This room had a sink and shower inside the room and was very spacious. It faced the street, so there was some traffic noise at night with the window open, but not too bad. We used the common bathroom in our corridor, which was not a problem at all. There was a lot of hallway traffic noise in the morning when the continental breakfast was being served. The next day, they moved our luggage for us into a room with full amenities. This room was much smaller, but faced a courtyard and was much quieter than the first room. The continental breakfast was simple, but sufficient for what you pay for. Overall, the condition of the hotel is old, but perfectly acceptable if you don't plan to spend much time in your room, which we didn't. The location was great, and within walking distance to 2 metro stations and is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. We were able to walk to all the main tourist sites from our hotel, and took the subway to the Vatican City. If you're on a budget, this hotel is very good and I would stay there again. One thing, it wasn't clear on the website that the actual hotel is on the 3rd floor, so take the elevator up and enter the doors on the left side.

The Hotel Staff were very helpful and kind The hotel rooms and the toilet and shower facilities were miserable. While some rooms were bright it was a matter of squeezing into the shower room. We were in room 20 and there was no outlet or fan from the toilet and there was a hole in the floor with a loose cover where the shower water escaped. The location was very good and we all agreed it would have been a great few days if the hotel was up to any reasonable standard. We could have had a very much better hotel around the corner for an extra €25 per night which we would have being willing to pay.

The hotel was awful. The worst place I have ever stayed in. We hardly got any sleep with the noise of people walking backwards and forwards as our room was next to the communial bathroom (even though we had our own bathroom) and the store cupboards where the cleaner then woke us up about 6am! The room was very tiny and the bed was as old as the roman ruins. Everything was very run down and needed replacing. They had 3 plastic tables at reception for breakfast with 2 chairs at each and 31 rooms so you had to queue for breakfast (which was a roll and cold tea) which for £80 per room per night is just not acceptable.

We just finished a three week tour of Italy, staying in 8+ hotels. Only Texas was bad enough that we had to cancel our reservation and find another place. We found our room quite run-down - floor, wallpaper, bathroom especially. Also the beadspread and floor were visibly dirty when we arrived, and the bathroom had a very unclean appearance. Furthermore, they asked to be paid for the full stay in advance, and when we did decide to leave after the first night, they tried to keep our money for the entire 4 day reservation, which violates the spirit, if not the letter, of their "one night penalty for cancellation" policy. It took a massive argument with the staff and eventually the owner to get one night's refund out of them. How this place every qualified for a two star rating is beyond me. I can't recommend it to anyone. Even if you're the type that wouldn't be bothered by these conditions, there are much cheaper places for you to stay than here.

Our 4-night stay in Hotel Texas was made pleasant by the generally friendly & helpful staff (one man aside - just because your shift finishes in 5 minutes doesn't mean you can't help a guest ring to book a tour . . . ). The breakfast was typically Italian, the serving size was adequate, and the service was friendly. The rooms were run down, and the bathroom was in desperate need of refurbishment. We entered our room to find most of the carpet area up to the bed saturated with water, and no alternative room was offered. The hotel was a hike to the Roma Termini station with suitcases - a better option is to take the metro line one stop to "Repubicca", near Via Nazionale. Location was reasonable. 10 to 15 minutes walk to sights such as Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum or the Colosseum.

Far too expensive for what was offered. Shared bathroom with a broken shower (water couldn´t be stopped - was running all the time). Terrible bed (hanging through). Window to a small, dirty court behind the house. Breakfast was okay but with the most terrible cafe I ever drank! The room was really terrible, exspecially for this price, but it seems as if this is italian standard. But: the man at the reception and the girl who made breakfast were very nice and friendly!

I would highly reccomend the hotel Texas to anyone that is not going to be spending a lot of time in their room. They were very hospitable and accomodating to our needs. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. It was located in a very safe area and was relatively quiet, not much you can do with an old building. Make sure you eat at the Old Bell Pub as the owner of the hotel is also the owner of the Pub and is very kind. He runs his restaurant like he runs his hotel. I can't say enough about this facility. Highly reccomended!!
