Hotel Termini - Rome

PLUS: Location was great. Supermarket down the street, varied restaurants within walking distance. Metro and bus stop within minutes. NEGATIVE: Should have a coffee maker or microwave in the apartment and mattress was way too soft. Front desk staff not too nice.

We stayed in a triple for two nights. As others had mentioned, we had reservations through Hotel Termini, but had to check in at Hotel Piram, then we were taken to another building just off of Piazza Repubblica where the hotel's apartments are located. This building didn't have 24hr reception, but was in a secure building and a great location. The triple we had was a sofa bed and a double, divided by a large bookcase. There was a fairly spacious bath and a small kitchenette. Other than the beds being somewhat uncomfortable, it was great. We enjoyed the feeling of walking into our own apartment in Roma! I was able to sleep soundly (without earplugs), but there was a little noise in the mornings. We did not have breakfast included. I would stay here again. Good Korean restaurant nearby and very close to metro and good shopping.

Hotel Termini is partnered with Hotel Piram, and upon check in, we discovered we were actually booked at Hotel Piram, not Termini. This review is on Hotel Piram. To get there, exit out of termini to your left- go across the first street (so you are walking parallel to termini station on your right), and turn right (north). Walk up until you see Via Cavour, turn left, and then your first right will be Via Giovanni Amendola. You'll cross a small street, and the hotel is on your left. The doors into the hotel and also into the staircase inside are heavy and close fast.. just a head up. :) Great location, although we first arrived at nearly 11pm, and it was a bit unsettling walking with our bags from Termini. Once we got out the next day, we were fine. I know some people said the area isn't safe at night, but we found it as safe as anywhere else, you just have to be smart, and not make yourself a target (the same as everywhere else in the city). The room was simple, but had everything we needed. We were actually surprised at how much space there was, and we did have a closet, private bathroom (with great soap!)and fridge/mini bar. We would stay here again, but I wanted to add the notes below, for a complete review. The only 2 complaints we had: 1) the room temperature. Even after it running for quite some time, it would not go under 27 Celcius (about 80 F). For some this is ok, and we were able to manage as long as we took off most of the bed covers, but it was warmer than we were used to. 2) There is in room internet that you pay for (which is fine), however, it never actually connected. It would connect enough to charge us, but not to use. We addressed it with the front desk, and they compensated us.
