The hotel lobby locate on 2nd floor same entrance with dreaming b&b. The hotel location is just 2 blocks to train station quite very close. The hotel also provide free wifi but no breakfast. The room is clean with good bed but small bath room. They share only one elevator with others b&b in the building which mak it a little jam sometime ( ESP. Check out time). Their staffs are really good and helpfull.

When we arrived our room was not ready and so we were "upsold" to a room with a higher rate. We were told there would be air conditioning and although we requested it twice, there was none in 85 degree weather. There was a ceiling fan that worked only on high, which was so noisy it was difficult to sleep.

By having read other reviews we knew what to expect. It was simple and plain. We only wanted a room to sleep in and this hotel fulfilled our requirements. Breakfast for euro 3 was, we thought, good value for money. Would use again. Good restaurant just outside. Not too good if you are unable to climb stairs, though a lift is available.

Hotel location was good because it was near the Termini train station. The outside surroundings of the hotel was quite loud. No air conditioning so we had to leave the window open and it got very loud especially because there was a restaurant below (restaurant had a great dinner). The employees were nice but at times could not understand them. Breakfast was 3 euros and comprised of pastries, coffee, and juice. Breakfast was worth it. Clean hotel.

The hotel is located close by the train station which is the plus for travellers. We stayed in nice and spacious room but very very noisy one the first night with no fans or air condition. However the owner's daughter Angela was very nice to change our room for the next three nights. Quiet with the fan but no remote for air condition and smaller than the first night room. I would definitely go back to this place since it was clean and good for its price. The guy at night was little grumpy. We asked for hot water in the mornings for our coffee and he refused to do so.

The hotel is a building with a bunch of apartments each divided in 5 rooms. It was a very nice room inside an apartment. Didn't even look like a two star hotel room. It was remodeled and perfectly tidy. Didn't like the hotel surroundings. There were several unhappy incidents. Scary... There were really bad screamings in one of the nights inside the building. They waked us up. Scary...

The staff was very friendly. Room was very spacious. The only thing lacking was a courtain in the bathroom - you have to be very carefull when showering, otherwise everything in the bathroom is wet. But location was good, and despite the opinions on the surrounding of the Termini station it felt safe and quiet. Also the restaurant downstairs was fine. On the other hand - this is not a hotel for disabled people, for sure. It is located on the second floor of the 19th century apartment house, and you there are several stairsteps between groundfloor and the elevator.

The people running the place are unfriendly. The flooring of the building is not so nice. You can feel it vibrating when you walk or jump. You hear the neighbors' noise from the ceiling, downstairs, hallway. The place was clean but still very expensive for the quality.

Breakfast was meager. The bill for breakfast included two breakfasts that were not delivered. It was a disappointment that no discount regarding room rate was given for the stay, although our visit was 11 days long. Service was wellmeaning, but the employees' knowledge in English was weak (as was our Italian): Swedish is our mother's tounge, which of course was out of question.

Nice place to stay. The price may be a bit high but Rome hotel prices are naturally high. The staff was helpful even though they didn't speak much English. The room was clean, large and had plenty of storage. The rooms are bigger than shown in the photos on the website. Breakfast cost an extra 3 euros, okay but I would go elsewhere for a better selection. Many good restaurants within walking distance and Green Line tours only 2 blocks away. The bathroom had a tub with a shower head but no shower curtain, made showers a little difficult. I would stay again and recommend to others. The location was 4 blocks from the rail station, so very convenient.

"Sweet Home" is perfectly placed near Termini Station to get around. We did not even try out the breakfast - for 6 euros we had two coffees and two cornetti each in traditional Italian bars. The bathroom was completely refurbished - quite a luxury in a **hotel in Italy! The ratio quality/ price is fairly unbeatable. I have seen other hotels of the same category in Rome and I can tell you that this hotel is a real jewel!

The Staff at Sweet Home were lovely, frendly but only a little english (and we had only a little italian). Great location near the Termini to get the metro around. And easy walking distance to Colosseum and other attractions. I didnt have a street room so there was no noise at night. Got breakfast out every day as breakfast was €3 for coffee and crossant. Generally value for money in Italian hotels is bad, this was one of the better ones.

My husband and I found Sweet Home very friendly and we were completely relaxed there. - once I had discovered that most noise could be excluded by making sure the windows were properly closed! My friend and I were there for 2 nights and just needed a hotel close to the train station, so this worked out fine. The staff was fine, not super friendly but not rude either. They gave us a big room which was nice and very clean, but the streets at night were really noisy. However this was kind of expected being close to the train station. No air conditioning in August was a little uncomfortable but we had a big fan which worked out OK, not ideal but not terrible either. Didn't have breakfast as it didn't look that exciting. Good location for getting to all the touristy places and one of staff members showed us how to get everywhere, which was great. Cute, easy, simple places to eat on the same street. Very close to the train station so it worked out well for us.

My 12 year old daughter and I stayed in Rome for 4 nights. The location and facilities were as expected - large, clean and central to transportation. It was as hot in Rome as was expected too; having a fan of some sort in the room would have been not only efficient in air circulation it may have drowned out some of the outside noise.

I enjoyed the stay. For the budget/student traveler this is MUCH better than a hostel (you get a towel, hair dryer, own room)for the same price or cheaper. It was a little dark in the rooms but clean. The location was right near the train station and therefore all the metro lines, and not a bad walk to a few places. I would reccomend it to a friend.

I like Sweet Home and have stayed there many times, the proprietors and staff are very friendly and helpful, the location convenient to transport, shops and restaurants. This visit however my room was literally in the reception area and was noisy most times of day and night and required earplugs to sleep. My parents had a street facing room which was also very noisy and the beds were hard. Good affordable pension but check the room out before committing.

Great place to stay during a weekend trip to Rome - access to public transport is excellent, staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and very clean, bath is small, but convenient. Breakfast is kind of rudimentary, but there is a very nice bakery down the street where you can get everything you need. If you happen to be accomodated in a room to the street, you will definetely need earplugs! My mother-in-law had a room to the back, which she said was perfectly quiet though... Be aware that you stay in a tourist ghetto, where no decent roman resident would ever go out for dinner - Monti is just a couple of blocks down the Via Cavour and one can find many good restaurants and trattorie there! All in all, I can absolutely recommend Sweet Home, especially if you speak a little italian...

Hotel not far from main train station. Was cleaned every day, big rooms. You can walk to a lot of places from the hotel direct or use metro. Very good location, clean, and friendly. We went in November so air conditioning was not an issue, but probably would be in the summer. The heating was fine. Rather spartan in terms of furniture, accessories and services, but if you are like us, only interested in a clean, comfortable place to sleep near the sightseeing attractions at a reasonable price, this is a good choice. The friendly helpful staff is a big plus. It is a family run hotel. If you think of it more as a bed & breakfast than as a hotel, you will be most likely be pleased.

Great hotel to stay near Termini station for travel to/from airports and within short walking distance of good restaurants/minimarkets etc. It is in a lively area possibly too noisy for young children however we loved it. People watching from our window was great! The room was spacious and kept very clean each day. The Shower/toilet was clean and functional. No air con but a big fan on the cieling was enough. Overall, I was satisfied with our choice of hotel for 2 nights. As Rome is known for overpriced accommodation, it was not easy to find a good price/quality ratio. SWEET HOME was flexible of showing us 2 free rooms upon our arrival from which we could choose one. We took the "bigger" double-room viewing the main street. Noise was moderate/quiet, moreover, April allows sleeping on closed windows. The room: modest size with a small wardrobe (we were 2 ladies:-)), clean bed sheets, ceiling ventilator, small TV. Bath: small, but clean, modest toilettories, thin not best towels, a not powerful hairdrier (we had one of our own). We could hear the morning noise from the corridor, but nothing unbareable. We skipped the breakfast, so can't comment on it. Unfortunately we didn't find anything good nearby, but it depends on one's taste. Rome offers enough caffes and bars. SWEET HOME lies within 4 min by walk from Termini Main Train Station, where one can ride the bus (public or tourist) down to all sightseeing areas. Walking downtown will take you ca. 20 minutes. Closest is the Colloseum (10 min). SWEET HOME gives you a free map of the city which is very useful.

A very nice place two blocks from the train station. Rooms were clean and spacious. The street was a bit noisy at night but the ceiling fan did a good job at creating a barrier of white noise. Forum and Colosseo 20 minutes by hoof. Half hour stroll to Travestere (great resturants there!) We will try to stay here next time.

Sweet Home is just 5 minutes' walk from the central train station in Rome, very convenient and easy to find. The room renovation and bothroom facilities are new and environment clean, but a bit expensive and there's no breakfast offered.

We, three adults had two rooms facing the street. A lot noice from cars, trams and people, but when you stay at a so extremely central place, you consider this noise as natural and easier to tolerate. It wa very easy to find the hotel ande come back to the hotel in the evenings, by tube, bus or tram.

The hotel does not have "public" areas. It's split over 2 or 3 floors. The access to the hotel is through a locked gate on the ground floor. You have to be buzzed in day and night. This was the ONLY inconvenience. The hotel was lovely and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definately stay at Sweet Home again.

From the price and location we were expecting a dump in a bad area, so were extremely pleasantly surprised to find a great, clean hotel, with a very pleasant family running it, and only yards from the station, which turned out to be a huge advantage. The landlord was lovely, spoke better English than my Italian, and was very helpful with directions and advice. After the first couple of bad dining experiences in Rome, he recommended a small restaurant only a block away called Alfredos, which was fabulous, the owner a wonderful man and the food excellent and cheap. The only downside of the Sweet Home (other than the name) was the noise from the street at night, delivery trucks made a terrible racket. It was so hot we had to leave the windows open, but as they were fitted with both shutters and double-glazed panes, presumably at cooler times the noise could be shut out. Overall a great place, and we will definitely go back.

This is a good bargain for Rome. The rooms were clean and the staff were helpful. There was a wide selection of cafes and restaurants outside the hotel and old Rome was within easy walking distance.

The hotel is nice and easy to find in a quiet area of Rome. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and kept that way during our stay. The room was nice and well maintained, but the bathroom was a little tatty and in need of repainting. The hairdryer also didn't work and neither did the extractor fan. Other than these minor details the hotel was good value for money in an expensive city. As a tip, have breakfast in the cafe just outside the hotel. The food was great and the staff brilliant!

Grazie Roma!!!

I paid 90 Euro per night (180 Euro total, tax included) on June 17-18, 2006 with my mother when we visited Rome. It is a double room with a queen size bed. The room includes a private bathroom (toilet, sink and shower), a 19' TV, a dryer and a ceiling fan. No telephone, no AC, no internet, no refrigerator, no breakfast. The room is old but clean. There are a lot of internet and phone service stores on the street nearby. I used them to call American for 0.1 Euro/minute. The internet is checp too (about 1 Euro per 30 minutes). This hotel is about 200m away from the exit of the railroad station, on the 2nd floor of a building. The elevator is old but working. It looks like a family-operated inn. The person in the daytime shift understands most of my English. The man in the night shift probably doesn't understand English, but he still understood and called an airport taxi for me when I asked. Both of them are nice and friendly. You need to pay cash when you check in. This is the kind of hotel that you get what you pay for. 90 Euro per night for a clean double room with private bath and shower in Rome railroad station area probably is the lowest price.

These premises offer "value for money" in the centre of Rome. Termini district can appear a little seedy but as long as you are aware of this before you arrive, there are no real surprises. The hotel itself offers very good security. Staff were helpful with maps and advise. A good reasonably priced option for Rome.

The hotel was very clean and safe, access is only possible using the door bell which makes the place feeling even safer. Rooms were cleaned, spacious in comparison to other accomodations in Rome. Staff is good with help, also regarding tourism questions, questions about public transport. It is also possible to leave the luggage in the hotel on the day of arrival when you come early and on the last day because you have to check out at 11. Unfortunately they are not stored in a separate locked room but in the hallway near the reception but due to the safe access to the reception floor this is acceptable. Our bathroom was okay, seems that it has been renovated recently. Room was cleaned every day and towels also had been changed daily. The windows isolated the street noise very good. Unfortunately the room had no safe.

Ci siamo trovati molto bene. Prenoteremmo di nuovo l'hotel sweet home.

Sweet Home offered a fantastic hotel in one of the most amazing cities i have ever visited. Many users referred to the 'seedy' nature of the location but we did not find this to be the case - we found it to be quiet, safe and friendly. One down side of the hotel was that we had two twin beds rather than a double, and these beds were more like camp beds than anything else. This however seems to be normal for a lot of European cities and it didnt affect our sleeping - particularly not after spending the days sightseeing. The bathroom in our room was enormous and whilst it did not have a shower curtain (again fairly normal in some hotels) the bath did have a jacuzzi/ spa function which helped to soothe the aching legs after wandering the city. The Hotel is well within walking distance of all the sights/ restaurants/ shops etc. In fact the Vatican is probably the furthest walk from the hotel and this only took us a leisurely 20-25 minutes to walk (you could of course take public transport, but the beautiful thing about walking around Rome is that you stumble upon one amazing sight after another. Rome itself is a wonderful city, the people are friendly, the food is great and the history and romance of the place takes your breath away. All in all we had an amazing time in Rome and we cant wait to go back - i would thoroughly recommend Sweet Home and Rome to anyone and have already urged many of my friends to make the trip.
