Although the hotel is well tucked away, we were all pleasantly surprised by the quality of the reception and rooms. I particularly enjoyed the whirlpool bath! Breakfast was just right, with plenty of choice and more if you wished to pay extra. The bus journey into the city was approximately 20 minutes and was generally quiet. All in all I would heartily recommend this property for anyone.

I strongly don´t recomend this hotel. First: It is shown as situated in Trastevere and it is at the end of Via Nomentana, far from all. Second: Bathroom had a slide door broken, it was cold and the shower didn't work properly. Third: Breakfast horrible, offering a coffe machine, no fruit and almost nothing. Four: We had to move to another room beacause of the batroom condition, and nobody helped us to move and the air condition machine was very noise. I´ll never ever recomend this facility to a friend.

You can catch signs for the hotel on the way there, but the last one is very hard to notice. In Rome, what looks like an alley is a street so don't ignore it. The bus was easy to catch and took about 25 to 45 minutes to get the main area of town. Very easy. I would return.

Prize was good, but not worth a 4 star hotel. Facilities were closed, room was extremely loud, because of non insulated water pipes. Staff (lots, not busy) had no idear and were very little organized. No information about restaurants or events. Taxi booking endet twice in a desaster. Breakfast was poor, one egg cost 3.50 extra.

A very nice hotel in pleasant surroundings, and we would certainly consider staying there again. The only downside was that -given the Rome traffic- it took a while to travel to and from the centre of Rome (and the buses were often crowded).

Overall, our stay at the Sunrise Hotel was very pleasant. The only suggestions I would make are: the restaurants they recommended were not the best and they neglected to inform us that one was 95% seafood. Also, we missed one of our museum appointments due to poor bus stop directions. Otherwise everything was a good value for the money.

I can hardly imagine one could find a better hotel in Rome for the rate offered by Venere! And indeed, all indicated facilities were excellent as well as breakfast (a rarity, it seems, with the Italian hotels... :-) ) I will certainly look for the same hotel next time in Rome!

Sunrise hotel is nice, staff there is helpful and they have the great roof-top jacuzzi. It's pity that they still don't have electronic lock for rooms so instead of small card you have to carry REALLY big key (or leave it in reception). It's also a bit far from city center, but not so far. Generally we can recommend it.

The Sunrise is a first class property, in a relatively disadvantageous location. It is far from the city center, and requires going through Rome city streets to get to the airport. There is a bus avaialable, which is crowded, bumpy and hot in the summer; and taxis are cheap enough to make traveling to downtown Rome reasonable - if you can get a cab. We couldn't when we went to the local square to find one. However the staff and facilities are great, and the local people very hospitable and friendly.

Staying for 80 euros in Roma in 4 **** hotel at the begining of July? Superb! Relatively easy to get center of the city (take express bus 60 and you'll be in 20 minutes standing by the Colosseum), no need to drive own car thru the city to get to the hotel. Highly recommended hotel!

This is an excellent hotel and I have no complaints about our stay the quality of service was excellent. The hotel are waiting for their restaurant licence to come through, this meant we got a chance to try some of the local restaurants of which there are plenty and you will not be disappointed. The location is in the suburbs and it is easy to reach the centre on the 60 bus.We will definitely return to this hotel

We stayed at the Sunrise in April for 4 very enjoyable nights over the Liberation Day Weekend which included the new Pope saying his first Mass so you can imagine how busy Rome was!! The hotel is splendid inside and very well maintained and, although it is part of the suburbs we never felt ill at ease no matter what time of the day or night we were walking the few minutes to and from the bus stop. As said in other reviews, the Bus journey from the Hotel to Termini is a little bit of a trial (20-30mins) but out of the 10 or so journeys we took we only failed to get a seat twice and we ALWAYS got a seat when coming from Termini. Travelling that way felt like you were part of the city life so it had it’s upside also. Anyone who has read any reviews on Rome will be aware already of certain horror stories regarding pickpockets/beggars etc. There’s no doubt that this is a major downside of Rome but simply have your wits about you, know where your wallet is when you are out and about and if you are inclined to give to beggars look at their shoes as I noticed some very well kept, good quality pairs which were not in keeping with their general attire which made me suspect all was not what it seemed. A couple of general tips would be 1.When going to the Vatican get off the Metro at Ottaviano (It's closer to the back of the queue for the Sistine Chapel and Museums) but walk an extra 5 minutes and get back on at Cipro as you'll then get a seat! 2.Don't feel the need to get there at the crack of dawn. We went on the day the Sistine Chapel and Museums reopened after the death of JPII and it was also a national holiday and we only waited 45 minutes when starting to queue at 11:15! 3. Take advantage of the FREE English Speaking tours of St Peter's. Our guide was very enthusiastic and informative and although an aim of the tour is to get you to follow up and pay for a tour of the Sistine Chapel immediately afterwards you can do what we did (although others didn’t) and simply tip th

The Hotel was very clean, spacious and as advertised. Pleasure deflated because of local people. In general, locals were unhelpful including to a lesser extent hotel staff members. Most claimed language difficulties or sent you purposely in the wrong direction. Some, like taxi drivers shouted loudly in your face if fares or bills were queried. For such a magificent city my impression was thing in general were very expensive, especially related to everyday items.

Hotel Sunrise is generally as described on the the web site, except I requested a Superior Double with Panoramic Balcony and with Power Shower (as detailed), only to be fobbed off with the reply that all the rooms were Superior. The allocated room (110) was on the first floor and lacked a panoramic view and was with a bath with shower attachment. Unfortunately, there is no shower curtain so the floor becomes very wet! Wardrobe space is very minimal, with only 3 hangers provided. I'm not sure what 4stars means in Italy, but surely the lack of a beverages tray should detract from that status? The concierge desk was usually helpful, but the advice was not always accurate. I asked how long a car journey would take to Ciampino airport at 0730 hrs, and was told that it was quite near and would take about 20 mins ... it took 95 mins!! The location of the Sunrise is not good for tourists, its too far away from the attractions. There is a regular bus service to Termini, but it gets very crowded and you are very lucky if you get a seat during the 20 to 35 min journey. There is also a lack of good restaurants in the area, the hotel only recommends one, and that is only of average standard. Next time we visit Roma, we will stay closer to the centre, the extra cost will be offset by the increased flexibility allowed.

Lovely hotel very clean and had a nice feel. Nice helpful staff who spoke enough english. Catch the 90 bus (from the termini) and ask the driver where to get off as you'll never follow it on a map. Once we had it sussed it was fine - 20 minutes or so into the centre on a crowded bus (don't forget the right guard - no chance of a seat unless you're an older lady).

We chose this hotel because we were travelling to Rome with a car. The hotel does have free private parking, however only space for about 3-4 cars so we had to park in the street which was secure but tight. The hotel itself was fantastic, very clean and elegant with a very friendly staff. Location is far from the center so I recommend this hotel only if you have a car. In a residential neighborhood but close to a street with a few restaraunts and basic shops.

Beautifully renovated interior to this building. Outside is just so-so, but once you enter the front door you see the elegant marble appointments and richly appointed interior. Our first room was the best appointed I've been to since the 5-star Ritz in Singapore (though the room sizes and view are not comparable, the quality of furnishings, edding, bathroom are close). The well-appointed bathroom had a nice Jacuzzi shower that provided 9 different heads at different locations. We were just here for 3 days, then off to Florence, then back to a different hotel. But we liked the Sunrise so much we cancelled the other hotel and re-booked here. The second room we got was a bit more spacious and had a better view, but similarly well appointed though with a pedestrian tub/shower instead of the Jacuzzi. It wasn't trivial finding this hotel, as Piazza Sempione is a confusing area, and busses (90 from Roma Termini seems best but is sometimes very crowded) don't list or announce their stops - but we asked the bus driver to tell us when we got there. Note that the Venere.COM map doesn't really show exactly where this hotel is so I recommend finding another mapping system (I used destinator 3 on my pocket PC) and entering the street address.

The hotel is completly new, the staff is really helpful and wellcoming. Beatiful rooms and good brakfast. It is a little bit far from the centre (it takes you about 20-25 min by bus to reach Piazza Venezia) but the bus service is good even at night. They should only give better instructions about the next bus stop (which is indeed Piazza Sempione)and how to reach the hotel. A part from this I would advice anyone the hotel, we had a great stay!
