This is a quaint little hotel, 5 minutes walk from Termini Train Station. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The front desk staff were lovely and very helpful, breakfast was fresh, and the room was spotless. They even have a little lift! Don't expect huge spacious rooms. This is Europe after all! Loved it.

Like many hotels in Rome, they are often part of an older large building, so are often over many floors. It is the same with the Stella; we where on the 6th floor, but the small lift was functional. The only problem was that the breakfast room was directly outside our room door, so we were woken at 07.00 as staff set up. The location was great, only 5 minutes walk from the termini train station, and the metro. The staff were excellent; I had a problem whilst there that needed phone calls back to the UK, the staff were very helpful letting us use the internet to get the correct numbers and using their land line to call several times. generally a no frills hotel, but a good breakfast (for Italy) and good location.

I'm really satisfied with two nights stay in Hotel Stella. The room and the bathroom are big enough in spite of it's cheap price. The elevator is old and interesting. Two worse things are it's breakfast and the air conditioner. the menu is always the same. And we couldn't turn the heater on even it was in the midst of December! But I would like to stay here again. Thanks!

The room is clean and cozy, space is not very big , but it is big enough for me. Location is near the train termini which is the center of train station. All of the staff are very nice and qualified. Actually I think they do know a lot about Rome. Just ask them if you have any question, because if you don't ask they really don't know what you need. First the air - condition seem doesn't work, but after my request they adjust it for me, then it does work well. Actually I am really appreciate it for they make the museum reservation for me and tell me the reservation number on phone( my mobile is Chinese number). Anyway thanks a lot for what you have done.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location, just a short walk from main train station. The counter staff is very friendly and helpful. In fact this is the best counter service that we have experienced during our recent trip to Europe covering 3 countries. Thank you so much! The hotel room is clean and comfortable. Thanks to the staff who make up the room everyday. The breakfast provided is decent and the staff are courteous and friendly.

The lady behind the counter should go a charm course to learn some customer service and positive attitude. Breakfast buffet was poor and the coffee from the machine tasted awful. The roof terrace where they served the breakfast was nice. The hotel was close to the termini and other attractions and transport links. The hotel is not worth the money we paid for 3 nights.

The person who was sitting behind the counter was not service minded and welcoming at all. For our stay of 3 days the price was too high. Not hot water when wanted to take a shower. The terrace for breakfast was nice but the coffee tasted not good and the buffet was poor. The size of the room and the bathroom was good. and the location near Termini and other communications and attractions.

Hotel Stella is in a great location. It's a 10 minute walk to the Roma termini train station. I was able to get around Rome pretty easily by foot and train. I booked a single room and it was very small. The hotel is clean and the staff is very nice. The breakfast could use more variety. It was mostly sweets and cakes. The neighborhood is good and there are many restaurants nearby. Hair dryer is included, Ac and several electric outlets. They have a big lighted mirror so you can do your makeup.the room had no view.

A very good value for the price. The room was rather small but tidy and comfortable. There was free air conditioning (which is not always the case in Italy and was useful in August). The lady at the reception was nice and welcoming. The breakfast is good, with different options (cereals, ham and cheese, fruits, juices, coffee...). You can have it inside or on the small terrace, with views of Rome's rooftop, a beautiful way to start the day. The location is 5 min walk from Termini station but the streets around the hotel are nice, compared to other areas near Termini. It is not in the historical center but you can reach the Coliseum walking in 30 min approximately.

My stay at Hotel Stella was comfortable and represented good value for money. The hotel is located in a quiet back street 10 minutes walk from Terminii rail and bus station. It is close to both Castro Pretorio and Republica Metro stations. The staff offered a friendly welcome at reception and at breakfast the next morning. Breakfast was in continental style (ie no cooked options) however there was plenty of variety - fruit juices; cereals or museli; fresh or canned fruit; yogurt; breads, croissants and pastries; along with some cheese and cold salami. The 'superior' room was small but comfortable, and the bathroom clean although the shower cubicle was cramped. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Staff helped make the stay enjoyable and looked after my luggage on the day i checked out, until I headed back to airport. There are a few restuarants nearby - look out for 'special menu' deals with a fixed price for two courses. I definitely go back to Hotel Stella.

It was great! Perfect location, amazing value for money. The only tiny problem we had was a very faint cigarette smell that was not present when we checked in, but then it built up in the evening... it was only marginally annoying, still worth noticing. The room was essential but super clean and with new and luxurious finish. Breakfast was also great! I definitely recommend Hotel Stella very very much, especially for short stays (below the week). Will certainly go there again if needed. Also the booking on Venere.com was great!

As long as the other guest kept quiet, the room was sufficiently quiet too. But as Hotel Stella often accomodates groups of young people who tend to be rather noisy in the middle of the night, I was awakened more than once. Upon my prelimenary request, my breakfast was adapted to my diet, which is a service I appreciated a lot. In general this is a very nice hotel for a very reasonable rate.

We stayed for 4 days at Hotel Stella, Roma. The room was big and clean. Only the bed sheets were a little bit dirty but the room has been cleaned every day. The breakfast was typical for italy. The hotel is 650 meters from Roma Termini away. That's the best. You only have to walk 5 minutes to get with the metro or the bus to every important place of rome. Thank you for some great days at rome.

Hotel Stella is about 5-10 minutes walk from Roma Termini, which was great once I got off the shuttle from FCO with my huge backpacking bag. They're also surrounded by a couple of restaurants, what looked like a grocery store (I didn't go in), and a small mini mart. The room I had was clean, as was the bathroom. The cleaning staff was very good about restocking everything and cleaning my room. My window opened onto the street, so I got to hear garbage trucks (it seemed like they came by every night) and large groups of party goers. The shutters also didn't stay open well when there was a breeze. Breakfast was decent. The lady gave each guest two pastries (they were eh), and there was a selection of spreads, juices, and cereals. My only complaint is about the receptionist(s). I think throughout my four-night stay, I had four different receptionists, and really only two I liked. The ladies weren't friendly, especially when I asked for the wifi password. One of them just kept telling me it was in the next room (where the public computer was). I asked again, and she said it was on the desk where the computer was. I had to figure out on my own that it was on a small slip of paper that was being covered by the mouse pad. Whatever, it's fine, but I wish she could have showed me the first time around, especially since she was only five feet away. The two guys were a lot more friendly and helpful. Conclusion: a good place to stay for your visit to Rome, but don't expect the warmest of welcomes.

The location was perfect... The restaurant they suggested "The Famiglia" was terrific (price and food)... there is 1 computer to provide internet access and most of the time that I wanted to use it it was available. Rooms are clean, shower extremely small and with the shower head right above your head, you couldn't really move anywhere away from the water... especially that the water was going from super hot to very cold constantly... Not fun!!! But the only 2 issues we had, was for the night person who refused us access to the internet room (while internet is available 24hrs day) and we had to sit in the lobby with our laptop to be able to go on the internet. BUT as soon as we mentioned this to the ladies the next morning, they gave us a piece of paper and asked us to write a complaint about it. At my surprise I received an email from the Manager who had followed up on our complaint and responded to us about what was done... So customer service... even after you've left is really great. The second issue was the morning maid... They are very early (around 7h30) and move things around rather roughly... so it wakes you up... Beside that, I would strongly suggest this hotel... Breakfast is basic, but that is how it is pretty much everywhere in Italy.

I spent just one night at Hotel Stella after transferring from another hotel that was too far out of the city. I booked online and received a phone call from the hotel to confirm the booking and to reassure me that they were expecting us and could safely check out of previous hotel. Flavio greeted myself and my two teenage sons and was very warm and welcoming, our room was clean and adequate and very good value considering its excellent location. All in all we enjoyed our night at his charming hotel and wish we had booked it for the whole holiday. I would definitely stay there again.

The positives; - cheap - location well connected by Metro - exceptionally clean place - tv with good (non-crap) channels - as long as you understand Italian. Nice 32 inch flat screen. - personnel was helpful - after check out you can leave luggage in a safe place until it's time for you to leave - the free internet point The negatives; - breakfast was very limited - late check out not allowed - Despite being helpful, personnel were arguably not that friendly - the hotel itself does not have a restaurant. Few good quality restaurants close by - noisy - No double glazed glass, no sound insulation. You can hear people walking, talking, TVs, maids, furniture moving, people going down the stairs, and finally drilling

Excellent stay, we loved being so close to the termini. Breakfast room was clean and the food choice was very nice, excellent coffee! Our room was very clean and quite spacious. The staff was kind and their English was very good. Would have loved to have Wi-Fi, had to go to the office to use computer. They have a lift which after a long day of walking was very welcome. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and would stay there again. Oh yes, the location is a little difficult to find and the TI at the termini was unfriendly and not at all helpful, we were better off asking for help from people on the street. We in fact used this hotel twice during this trip and was given very spacious room to stay on both occasions. To find the hotel was not as easy as I thought and map provided on web was not clear enough. Quite a bit of walk from Termini and rough if dragging heavy bags. Breakfast well organized but rolls were a bit hard and end up only able to take coffee and corn flakes. Hope it can be improved. Reception was OK though not particularly helpful when asking for directions and transports. Would be nice if Wifi is available and satelite channels too. I thought we may use AE to settle but no, only VISAs, end up paying cash instead. Overall good experience at this hotel mainly good rooms and will stay again next time.

I looked at reviews of this hotel before choosing. In hindsight I find them disproportionately negative - sadly I think people are more inclined to complain about bad experience rather than a pleasant experience, The continental breakfast was wide ranging perfectly adequate. Noise from doors and locks from other rooms did travel, but we did not suffer from disturbances too early/late. Generally very clean and spacious. Hair dryer was a bit weak, telly plug required a bit of "giggling" to get going. We recommend Ristorante La Famiglia - good quality and reasonably priced 4€ for half liter of wine and accept credit card (many others do not).

No wireless internet access anywhere in the hotel including public areas. Our room was small, enough for a double bed and place for our luggage and a single night stand. Bathroom drain was slow, toilet was hard to flush. You have to flush it a certain way to work. the only outlet that you could plug your phone is the bathroom's. If you are extremely tired after the day's excursion, you'll be able to sleep.

When checking in we were rudely told even though there's only 2 of you, you will be charge for 3 as your room stated, also there's a 4 euros per day fee to be paid cash at the the end of your stay for tax purposes "Hello...where's the hospitality with the welcome to Rome"? The bed was very unfortable, like sleeping on a piece of plywood. The room overall was clean with the exception of leaving dirty cups, utensils. The 2nd. day I went to the front desk to complain, after that the dishes and utensils were cleaned daily. Our room was next to the breakfast room on the 2nd. floor and very noisey first thing in the morning. Never had a good nights sleep during our whole time there. Never once were we asked how everything was. The hotel was rated 3 stars, I would give it a 2 star rating only because I've neveer seen a 1. Breakfast was very basic, cold cereal, buns, croissants, coffe but fresh daily.

What i like about the hotel is the location its very good close to the terminal station very accessible. The breakfast was very bad! only bread, butter plus unlimited coffee. I think you should atleast change your menu not everyday you will offer your guest the same breakfast I stayed in the hotel for 4 days. Also, there is no available electrical socket to charge phone and camera. And the towel in the toilet was very bad quality!

Access to rooms not easy especially if you have large luggages and no one to help. Took a while to get the room cooling and ac is noisy. Closer to termini so easy access to public transport.

Unfortunately, there were some publics works in the street just down our window which was a bit thin so that since 7:30 am in the morning it was not possible ti sleep. Otherwise, the hotel is quite nice, and for me and my boyfriend, the breakfast was enough (orange juice, coffe/tea, croissant, bread, cereals,..)

Hotel Stella had friendly staff, very helpful and accommodating. The room I got was small, with a twin bed, but I was traveling alone and it is not a big deal, it is expected since Europe has older buildings. Therefore, I don't have any complains, they offered European continental breakfast which is always helpful. I would stay here again and it is walking distance to the train station.

Especially nice being so close to Temini with a short three to four block walk to Stella. Perfect location because we were able to travel from both airports to Rome and to Civitecchia port for our cruise. You can catch a cab or bus right out the Termini if walking is not for you and get to the hotel in less than five minutes. We stayed two nights before our cruise and were able to get on a bus one block from the hotel to visit all the attractions in Rome and the Vatican City. Fabulous bus system which doesn't get crowded until the end of the night when everyone is going back to their homes or hotel rooms. Buses stop at all the attractions, run very regulary at ten to fifteen minute intervals, and if you have to wait a few minutes for the next bus, there are local shops at the stops where you can buy souvenirs or grab a quick snack, piece of pizza, or cold drink. The trick is to read your bus signs to make sure you get on the right bus. Should you get lost, not to worry, you can get off one bus anywhere along its route and board another using the same ticket. Tickets are good for fours hours and can be purchased for only a few euros at the Termini or local businesses on the street near the bus stops, like grocery stores or bakeries-just ask. Buses goint to Termini will get you to Stella from anywhere in the city and run more frequently then others. If you have the time, you can also travel out of Rome into the countryside or surrounding towns and cities. Stella had friendly front desk service, provided helpful information when asked, gaving us a map of bus and train lines along with location of the attractions, which made it very easy for site-seeing. More fresh fruit at breakfast would have been nice, but continental breakfast service was very nice and the wait staff friendly. When we checked out, we were able to store our luggage for a few hours in a locked room adjacent to the front desk and sight see until it was time for our train for the port city.

Hotel Stella is in a good location, with easy access to the main train station (Termini) and 15-20 minutes walking distance, or short cab ride, to the major tourist sites. Our group had 3 rooms (6 adults, 3 children) and all rooms were clean and modern with very good air conditioning. There was very little street noise through the night from cars or pedestrians. The downsides, which were relatively minor, were small bathrooms, with very small showers. And, as guests and staff start to move about in the morning (5AM onward), the related noises (talking, doors opening/closing, etc) were a bit loud. Light sleepers should therefore wear earplugs or plan to be awake early. There have been lots of negative comments written about the breakfast served but I think this criticism is overblown. The included breakfast is basic - coffee, cereals, croissant, yogurt - but is not horrible and can get you off to a reasonable start. Overall, for our group the Hotel Stella was very good value, providing us with a comfortable and convenient place to stay at a very good rate (for Rome). You can easily pay double Stella's rate and not end up with a better place.

breakfast is VERY poor: coffee is done with a big the machine (no real italian nice coffee), no ham and no eggs, just some croissants, bread, cornflakes. youghurt didn't look very fresh. and if you leave before 7.30, you forget your (payed) breakfast. This apart, the rooms are very nice and the location very confortable if you have to leave from the station.

I don't succeed in realizing that the hotel Stella was a "3 stars", as you indicate on your website, but only a good place between the lower ones. Anyway, no problem on my holiday in Rome. THANKS.

The stella hotel it was very good. The only negative was that wasn't a fridge in the room and that breakfast was a litlle poor.Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable. The area was excellent very close to TERMINI Station(metro, bus, train) and piazza indepenza 100 metres away with the bus stop of n.492 which get you to all famous places(fontana di trevi, piazza navona, piazza venezia, vaticano). It had super market nearby .

The Stella was more of a prison block than a hotel, and the officers where not all that friendly. The lifts resembled something out of a Federico Fellini movie, and the breakfast had to be missed. I was happy to escape. Next time I think I will try the Arte Hotel further down the strada.

Friendly and competent staff, free-of-charge possibility to make check-in of the flight at the hotel's computer and printing the boarding-pass at the hotel's printer. Near to metro and bus stops, restaurants, supermarket, and sights. It was our 2nd stay at this hotel. When we return to Rome, we will again stay at Hotel Stella.

Excellent price and location, close to Termini station and 15 minutes walk to Fontana di Trevi. Breakfast definitely needs to be improved, as i had to go to supermarket to buy yoghurt, cheese or fruits. By the way, the CONAD supermarket is really close to hotel.

I wouldn't spend many days there, but for 1 nights it's one of the best. It has some probs (like really tiny shower) but if you just need a bed in a somehow clean and quiet room for a good price in city center that's a good choice.

The hotel was very clean, the beds very good. Breakfast could be improved to satisfy especially German expectations, however, it was probably better than the Italian standard. With only a 3-5 min walk from Rome Termini it is ideally located.

A nice and friendly ruled hotel - perfect for a short Rome-visit. Rooms are very clean and nice furnished, the relationship between price and quality is great. Breakfast meets the Italian (simple) standard. All in all a great, inexpensive hotel in a good starting point for sightseeing.

Xmas Eve, 1st time in Rome, yelling on street at 1 am. No sound insulation between rooms & neighbors yelled at us as we left at 6 am. Cannot talk aloud. B'fast=bread in cellophane and push-button cappuccino machine. Wonderfully close to Termini.

The breakfast was horrible, we actually did not take it the next day. Such a breakfast is not at all suitable for 85 euros/night!!! The reception blond lady (the morning shift lady) was terribly incompetent; she kept us 30 minutes in the office just for check-in and was very unfriendly. At the check-out we almost missed our train because she was too slow to finish the check-out procedure and created a long waiting line outside her office. We will never choose this hotel anymore! Only the room was clean and ok, otherwise we will never be back to that hotel.

The main problem was NOISE. There is almost no insulation from the corridor and the neighboring rooms. The acoustics is so bad that I could hear the conversations in the breakfast room which was at the end of the corridor, as well as the noise of dish washing etc. (I stayed in a single superior room)

We stayed twice at the Stella - 2 nights on arrival in Rome and 2 nights on our way home. First stay: the room was small but had AC. Second stay: we were assigned a large room but with no AC and the temps were in the 90s. When we asked for a room with AC, we were told none were available but Signor Flavio at reception found us another hotel and booked us in at the Stella's rates for the night. The Stella is a fine hotel for the price. Breakfast is skimpy, but the staff is polite, helpful and all speak good English. The location is great as it's only a 5 minute walk from Termini station. I would certainly stay again but would remember to request AC when I made the booking.

Our third time to Rome. We have stayed in this area every time, and Hotel Stella was as we expected. The room was clean with windows out to a garden. There were few choices offered at breakfast, but we guess that is because there was a tiny kitchen. All over, we spent 2 wonderful days in Rome. Met all kinds of people, families, mature and young couples.
