I realy enjoyed my time in Rome as the city has a lot to offer with its history, Hotel Stella was an ideal choice for us as it was in a mostly quiet location within easy reach of the main termini station. The only fault was the breakfast was dissapointiog but it sufficed.

Stella Hotel was a very pleasant hotel and in a good location for my needs. The close location to Termini and the convenience of the city, tour buses and trains also made it a good choice. Clean, safe neighborhood and good nearby restaurants all contributed to a nice stay. As stated in other comments the room and the shower stall are small, but the room was the cleanest I have ever had in any hotel. There is no lobby in this hotel, but the staff store bags until departure. They are very vigilant to monitor the baggage carefully. I would stay at Stella again.

On this trip, my wife and I visited a number of cities in Italy as well as other cities in Europe. In the aggregate, we spent 10 days in Rome, on several occasions. The first time was for 5 days, in another hotel. While both hotels were excellent vaslue for the money, hotel Stella is in a better location for approximately the same price

I am a single male traveler, and I used Hotel Stella for a quick stopover for one night in Rome on my way to Siena. Convenient location, and for the price I paid (65 euro) it was a great value. No complaints. Thanks to the employee who was up at the crack of dawn so I could check out and catch my train!

Nice size rooms. Not too close and not too far from the main train station. Lots of restaurant choices in the area. Walking to/from the train station with luggage was a little difficult, but without luggage it was just fine. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Overall, nice hotel, I would probably stay there again.

We had previously visited this hotel a couple of times and found it very good. However, this time there had been opened a new pub in the neighbourhood with loud music late in the night and noisy groups of young people chatting in the street. The quietness of the room was gone. Next time we'll take another hotel.

I stayed in Stella for 6 days. It was almost good, but a bit noisy in the night time. There is a bar at the first floor. If you stay in the Stella hotel, please ask a room that is far from the bar.

We were a family with two children staying at a quadruple room. Breakfast was ok: rolls, musli, croissants and coffee/tea. Nothing special, but good relationship quality vs price to be in Rome. Location close to termini station was also good for us. I would not mind staying at Stella again.

It's a very good option if you want to spend a few days in Rome. Close to the central station, buses stop and subway. Single room very tiny but CLEAN.Very good relationship between price/quality. In Rome hotels are generally expensives.

It was a really nice little place to stay at Rome, easy to move from there anywhere, only thing the elevator worked only with 2 persons for ride, if not it got blocked, so often we took the stairs... but everything else was really good!

Very nice hotel.Great location near Termini station. Also National museum is near as well as piazza della Republica. Room was good and clean but small. I had all I needed in a room (A/C, TV, safe, refrigerator, phone...). There is a night club nearby so sometimes you can hear loud music at night but it did not bother me. Stuff was nice and helpful. Overall good price/quality. Only thing I did not like was breakfast.

This was my second stay at the Stella. I choose to stay there principally for the balance between location and price. It is located only a short walk from Roma Termini, which allows access to all parts of Rome by bus or Metro. There are also several decent restaurants nearby to the Stella.

- ~10min walk from Termini w/ luggage - Quad room was spacious - nice, clean, no luxuries but with a correct price-delivery relation - a bar in the ground floor of the building that can get noisy (pass 2am) - typical european breakfast - public computer available but a bit slow - several restaurant near hotel, 2min to supermarket

A very good hotel for being by the train station. Very typical of a good cheap hotel in Rome. It was clean and the staff was very nice. I will be staying there again when I go back. If you are looking for a clean, cheap place to stay within three or four blocks of the train station then this is a good place for you. Street noise was a little loud at night from a pub right across the street but after a full day in Rome I had no trouble falling asleep. The pictures on the web site of the rooms were acurate.

We stayed here during our visit to Rome. The biggest plus point is that the Hotel is within walking (about one KM ) from the Rome station and Bus terminus. The rooms though a bit small are quite clean and have all the basic amenities. The Breakfast was quite good. The Hotel is spread in multiple floors and there is a small Lift available. The pricing is real value for Money and the Hotel is recommended for your stay in Rome

I stayed in Rome for six nights at Hotel Stella and it was my first time in Rome. The fact that it is located close to the train station is good when you arrive, you don't have to go across the city to find your hotel and the area was quiet at night, but this means you have to walk a little or take the metro to the main attractions. Service was very good, room was clean and spacious. I would go back to that hotel again.

Tough the Stella is not located in one of the "nice" areas, our stay there was very nice. Location is near Termini so you´ll have all the buses near! The Stella is a nice, clean hotel with no luxuries, but with a correct price-delivery relation. Mind you... there is a bar in the ground floor of the building that can get noisy. The Hotel has installed double glass windows that isolate most of it, but it may diturb you at night. Breakfast is what you expect for this stars. All in all,VERY NICE MEMORIES!

We stayed in a triple room in late March 09. The room was surprisingly spacious with room for all three of our suitcases. The only flaws were that there was a bar right next door which was quite loud (double glazing helped, but it was still loud) and that breakfast was pretty poor for supposed 3* hotel. Orange glazed croissont and a bread roll with jams and crispbread packets near the tea and coffee. Juice (a red one and an orange one) was powdered as was the coffee. If I were to require a triple room again, I would definitely book, but a double or a single? I would probably look elsewhere.

We are a mature couple and our first visit to Rome. We scoured the comments and reviews of a lot of hotels in Rome before choosing Hotel Stella. We were not dissappointed at all. The Hotel rooms and staff were excellent the dining room was alittle cramped at times but with a two hour span it was ok. We travelled from the airport by express train for 11 Euros each easy to find way.I would like to point out that when we arrived at the Termini we were direct down to a strange street but we back tracked ourselves followed the intructions to find Hotel Stella that were spot on. When going to Rome we would use this Hotel again

Tried my italian language on the staff.(5 words)after that they couldn't do enough for us - I must have impressed them! we were even given a picnic bag as we had to leave before breakfast. the bar below was noisy on a couple of the nights until late (after midnight) but it didn't really bother us too much - we just drank more wine. next time I would ask for a room on a higher floor. It was only a 10 minutes walk to the train & bus station. supermarket 2 minutes away. good choice of restaurants, tucked away in side streets, with all price ranges.
USA, Jan 2009
Hotel Stella is about 3-4 blocks from the train station. When you go out the exit facing the subway, go across the big street and turn right. It will be left down Via Castelfidardo and on the left side of the street almost to the corner. The rooms are unusually spacious and clean. The elevator holds one person with luggage at a time. Breakfast is nice. I think my only problem was that I left an airline ticket in the room and the gal I called said it was impossible for her to send it to me. It was redeemable for a full year. Later she said she looked and didn't find it but that couldn't be possible. The location is great and the hotel is very quiet. Overall, the people were very kind and accommodating.

Overall we have a pleasant stay at Hotel Stella. It is near the Termini Station and, although you won't see much movement at night in the surroundings of the hotel, there is no reason to feel unsafe. The room is ok and so is the breakfast. The only headache that we have experienced was at the paying moment. They were supposedly having problems to accept our credit cards and the staff was not very helpfull - actually they clearly didn't want us to pay in credit card and were only trying to make us pay in cash. After half an hour of argument we finally managed to get ou credit cards accepted in a old machine...

A decent hotel in a very good location, convenitent to Termini and the subway. One issue is with the noise during the night from patrons in a bar that is located next door. The constantly created noise making it difficult to sleep. Not an ideal situation. The rooms were spacious. The bed was old and uncomfortable. Not a good value for the price paid. The staff were all friendly and accomodating. I would stay here again, but it would not be my first choice.

I travelled with my husband. It was out of my expectation but perhaps the rate reflected the quality of the Hotel. Overall, it is a clean and warm hotel, but very small. One thing I would like to point out is that nowadays most of the hotels are using quilts cover. However, this hotel just provides blanket and cover by bed sheet and it really makes me feel dirty and uneasy. Also, don't expect it is close to the train station. it is few blocks away that takes 7-8 minutes walk.

The hotel location is convenient, close to Termini station and city centre, both reachable by foot. Single room was small but clean, price/quality relationship is good as well. The hotel staff was helpful except 1 lady whom I asked to check in internet when the train departs and she refused. Also funny moment: when I arrived there were no towels in the room at all, after I asked for it at reception they asked me: "do you need it immediately?" :))Maybe they don't travel so much and don't know that 1st thing after flight/train is SHOWER! Anyway I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

This is a great location if you're looking to be a bit out of the way. It's a quick 10 minute walk to Termini Station and there are a couple of decent museums and churches in the direct vicinity. We were able to walk easily to many other sites in the city or easily took the Metro which was at the station. The hotel itself is not big, but it was very pleasant. The night staff was a bit more helpful than the day staff. We were able to use the internet for free each day and the breakfast in the morning offered a bit more than we expected. So all in all we thought it offered a lot for a competitive price.

Stella hotel is just right for budget travelers, the breakfast is ok,the location is great very near the termini and there is a supermarket nearby..on the day that we arrived the elevator was not working, the receptionist was very apologetic but she more than made up for the unexpected hitch by helping us carry our luggages to the fifth floor where our room was located..we were 3 women in our sixtees and she realized how difficult it would be for us to climb the stairs that high carrying our luggages..she certainly made our stay in stella memorable, i forgot her name though..blame the age. over all I would say Stella met our standard and would definitely choose this hotel again when we decide to return to rome.

We spent three nights at Hotel Stella. It was a comfortable stroll (10 mins) from the Termini station with our suitcases to the hotel. On arrival we were provided with a map indicating how to get to Rome's attractions. We were told we could not walk Rome but we found it to be an excellent location and we only caught one taxi the whole time and that was to Vatican City. Approx a 20 min easy walk to the Trevi Fountain from the hotel. Supermarket and Taxi stand just around the corner. Breakfast was included and was very good. Great bar under the hotel but if you aren't in there drinking and are trying to sleep it could get a little noisy ... we really enjoyed it though!

Location is about 5-10 mins walk fr Termini. Lady in registration is very friendly and informative. There is a pub beside w/c is noisy if the windows are open but quiet when closed. It could be hot inside the room(stayed only overnight in mid July 08), you have to pay add'l for the aircon if requested.Missed the breakfast coz we have to leave early for the airport. Overall, triple accommadation was excellent, even my 13 yr old daughter appreciated our very short stay compared to our more expensive 3 night stay(160 euros/night) in the other hotel a week ago.

Very convenient to Termini. Convenient to Metro as well. Breakfast served too late to benefit early morning travelers to the airport. Reminder - be careful of taxi drivers.

A bit noisy at night. Everything else was perfect.

Hotel Stella is very convenient to transportation. It's a great value for the price. In fact, it was just what we wanted and needed for our stay in Rome. Would have appreciated a satellite channel on the television.
