I did reserve Hotel Sonya but they put me in Hotel Opera. I really liked the service at Hotel Opera. I had the rest of my group at Hotel Sonya and they were not so pleased with the front desk. I will call him plaid pants man - he was WONDERFUL. but every time we would ask the other front desk person he would just leave :-) I loved Rezzie? at hotel Opera. He was a wonderful concierge and helped me the whole time I was at the hotel. Loved Hotel Opera!!! great location wonderful people

VERY NICE HOTEL, great location accross from Opera and 5-6 blocks from Termini. Smallish, but adequate, rooms, at least for one or two nights; really tight shower stall. Comfortable bed. Great breakfast buffet. The hotel is constantly adding rooms by remodeling older apartments in the building; there was noise and debris during the days, but cleaned up at night. Some people might be bothered by this, we were not.

Hard to find but centrally located. The owners live there and are very helpful. They even sent someone to find us to direct us to the hotel. The room was georgeous and very spacious. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great and clean hotel. Very friendly staff. We had a great stay and will return if we ever travle to Rome again. The only minus was the breakfast that had too much sweet options and not enough salty ones. Overall a great place though and within walking distance off the sights of Rome.

Staff provided poor information about taxi arrangements in morning. Not very kind, generous, or helpful when needed. TV did not work.

We actually stayed in the Sonya Suites formerly the Hotel Opera that Hotel Sonya had recently taken over. The Sonya Suites are less than half a block away. The Sonya Suites have been refurbished we even had a jacuzzi bathtub. The staff were great and helpful. The breakfast was good too. The location is very central, a 10-15 minute walk to the Colusseum, Trevi Fountain and all sorts of other great places in Rome. While central the neighbourhood is a bit run down.

i stayed in Sonya only one night but I had a really good rest. I was searching for a hotel recently too and I can recommend to others Sonya, because it comfortable and has a great location and exremly friendly stuff. But I also need to add something that for me was Ok as i was staying only one night but for others can be a bit difficult, it's area of brakfast- looks a bit strange because it's nearby reception desk. And second is a too small shower cabin.Anyway Thanks to the Reception for their assistance and attentive work.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We were leaving the day of the volcanic ash cloud closed the airports and they lent us a laptop for our room to check on things and gave us phone numbers for the Embassy in case of emergency. Lovely but compact room, breakfast very nice. Found quite a few restaurants close. All the sights are in walking distance. Very happy with hotel.

I was pleased with the service and friendliness of the staff. The room was small but very clean. The location was close to the train terminal and all metro. The breakfast was good and the staff was excellent. We were two women traveling and felt very safe at the hotel.

I booked a single occupancy room at Hotel Sonya. Upon arrival I was sent across the street to stay at another branch of the same hotel - Hotel Opera. The room was closet size, smallest hotel room I ever stayed in, with a small single bed and barely enough space for other furnishings. On the upside, everything was kept clean and the staff was very attentive and helpful.

It's close to transport and landmarks, making this is a good base to explore the city at a reasonable price. The room was, without fail, clean. The breakfast was good. The hotel is located across the street from a supermarket, and we made at least one meal out of the bread, cheese, and sausage we bought there. The staff were also quite helpful.

Nice hotel; quiet location; friendly staff, reasonably good breakfast. It was easy to reach on foot the main attractions and shopping area. We did not use pblic transport at all. It takes only 10 min by walk to reach Termini and Leonardo express train to Fiumicino airport. Price was also reasonable. We did enjoy our stay at Sonya hotel.
