Unfortunately in Rome you cannot find an hotel below 80€, But surely with 20€ more you can find better places to stay. Little room, ancient TV..and noisy bad. When I was there there are a noisy people in the other rooms. Not raccomanded but not the worst I've been before.

avoid the restaurant!!! Frozen ready dishes only! I had a quite noisy room, close to staircases. The table in the room was too smal, with the TV on it, and I had almost no room for a laptop to work on it. No power plugs easily available to recharge my laptop or mobile. Small batroom not really well equipped.

Buona posizione, facilmente raggiungibile dal raccordo anulare. Fermata dell'autobus abbastanza vicina. Stanze confortevoli perchè abbastanza grandi e ben condizionate.

This hotel was very difficult to find. The room was tiny but clean and the staff was helpful. For the price, it was a good, air conditioned place to stay while in Rome since we spent most of our time touring anyway.

We reached hotel from London last fight around 01;30 hrs. For next day we had requested a Pompeii one day tour booking in advance for Sat 14th June'08 leaving hotel at 06:15 hrs. On arrival we were told no such booking has been made. So next day quite early in the morning we had to run around to find out the tour operator, get to the pick up point. Also they could not give us adequate packed b/fast before we left for the Pompeii tour though all was laid out. Nevertheless our stay was enjoyable.

Actually i can rate only the welcoming and the Hotle surroundings, since they had overbooked so that we were kindly upgraded to Hotel Black ( 4 stars superior ) for the same price. They got a problem but solved it brilliantly for us since Black Hotel is very nice. scheppers looks more or less as in their pictures, it's located in a Hotel Area , nothing else around, along Via Aurelia. In 10 minutes drive by car you reach all main interest areas in Rome ( Piazza Navona etc ). If you don't use car there is a public bus line nearby , but of course you have to walk 5 minutes to catch it...

We stayed in Rome a total of 6 days, 3 of them at Scheppers Hotel. The website is misleading. There was no resturant and we were hungry after a day of traveling. There were no resturants even close by, so we went to a grocery store, bought some prepared food to eat, then were told by the hotel personnel, that we were not allowed to eat it down in the lobby, that it wouldn't look good to other customers. There is a big banquet room right there, but they didn't offer that to us, we had to go up to our room, there were 5 of us, and try to eat our meal. The website also advertised shuttle service, but didn't say that only 8 people at a time could ride, and there is only one shuttle. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. If it weren't for the grocery store, we'd of been out of luck. The grocery store is quite a walk also.On the good side, the hotel is very clean. The walls are very thin, you could hear practically everything going on around you. I had to wear ear plugs. We had made our reservations in Aug. for November, and they didn't have a double room available for the other couple in our group. They had a single room and paid for double. Just a bad experience. We would not stay at Scheppers if we visited Rome again.

As shown on the map the hotel should be in the immediate surroundings of the Vatican, "in a green, quite area of the city". Instead it revealed itself to be close to the very end of Rome's periphery, in a slightly dubious quarter (red-lightish for the least, which i shall not judge...could actually be an advantage for somebody). If you travel by car you have to pay attention not to miss the almost invisible beginning of the hotel-street folding away from Via Aurelia. But the hotel has a safe parking, rare facility in Rome, and bus services to and from the center, some 30 min drive all in all. The rooms are sterile and impersonal but clean and spacious. If you are in love enough, i would say, a stay in hotel Sheppers shouldn't be too deranging.

This was our first time to visit Scheppers. The location was excellent for early flight. But unfortunately your photos promised a little bit too much. At least our room for four persons was shabby and very small. On the other hand the bathroom was well equipped with enough towels and soap. Thank you for that. The information how to travel to the city center was clear and very friendly. Other guests disturbed with their noisy homecoming at 3 a.m. When we were leaving at about 4.30 for some reason we could not pay with our credit car. Maybe problems with the connections? (Our Card was OK at Rome airport hour later) Well, we had cash and it was not a problem. Our staying for one night was OK. Thank you Katriina Huhtala

my daughter and I travelled together. Scheppers is on a hill, so if you aren't in your own transport or taxi, it is awkward...the hotel offers a shuttle to the nearest trainstation at set times, but nothing on your return, which would have been a godsend, seeing the geographical position of the hotel....nice and peaceful tghere during the day, but OH SO NOISY at night....school kids getting in at 11pm and running rampant till after 1am was not our idea of a good nights rest... breakfast was good. no bar or safe facilities in the room.

The hotel was great, new, so pretty clean, the staff was very nice and helpful, breakfast was included in the price, but it was nearly impossible to find and difficult to "do Rome" while staying so far away from the center of town

L'albergo è veramente bello, le camere pulite, la posizione tranquilla (ideale per chi pensa di spostarsi in auto). L'unica pecca è la colazione: sono un po' disorganizzati e il servizio è scadente.

It took me 3 hours to find this hotel because their directions were not clear and having stopped and asked 9 different people I was sent in all directions. Eventually at approximately 7.30pm I did actually find the place to be told that I was booked into another of their hotels a quarter of an hour away. I refused to go unless someone came with me and showed me the way. Which they did it took over 20 minutes. The food was awful - we just had pasta. The breakfast was not ready at 7.am as promised. Their was no courtesy service to Vatican City as stated on their website it was to the nearest metro station and it idn't start until 9.30. The name of the hotel we were transferred to was called The Black Hotel and that is indeed the colour of the whole of the reception area and restaurant. I would certainly not recommend it because apart from the above it took us 25 minutes at 7.30am in the morning to reach Vatican City by car

We had reservations for the Scheppers hotel but they had made a mistake with our reservation and said they had booked us into the nearby Black Hotel. However, they had made another error and we were actually at the Jolly Hotel Midas. The directions to the hotel were terrible. I am pretty experienced in navigation in foreign countries and it took over an hour to find the hotel. And then to be rerouted to another hotel was disappointing. We were charged the same amount at the Jolly Hotel which did not appear as nice a the Schepper but had decent facilities.

Actually this is a review of the "Black Hotel". Initially we had booked the Scheppers, but when we arrived, they were apparently overbooked and so we were transferred to the "Black Hotel", but at the same guaranteed conditions. This was only a minor inconvenience. The Black hotel is brand new (opened just 2 weeks before we arrived) and really is something to see. It's a four star hotel (Scheppers has only three) and it's more a piece of artwork than a hotel. Art objects are integrated into the hotel (from the terrace chairs to the wooden hotel desk and the lamps in the rooms). Very modern and on the minimalistic side, but done with a lot of taste. European design at it's best. The personnel was very friendly and helpful and we really had a good time. They really tried to live up to the four star standard. The hotel is relatively far away from the city centre, but we had a car, so it was not a problem, although there are a lot of traffic jams (driving in Rome is one continuous Adrenaline high, just great!). If you're dependent on the public transportation, it may be a little time consuming to get into the city. The easy to reach restaurants around the Scheppers and the Black hotel seem to be frequented mostly by tourists, so we tried to avoid them and always had dinner downtown.

A little difficult to find, but a phone call to the hotel brought very good directions. The quad room was very small. In fact it was so small that we obtained an additional single room for my son. Walls pretty thin, but noise quieted after about 11pm.

The hotel is located very far from the city center, and transportation is a real problem, since the metro is closed after 9PM and the buses go there at intervals of 30-40 minutes. The mention (from the venere site) that the hotel is located 10 minutes from Vatican should be a joke! It takes around 30 minutes by bus. The room walls are very thin, so we could here everything our neighbours were saying/doing. Rooms not as spacious as shown on the hotel pictures. Although the hotel is presented as brand new, dont't expect the room walls to be intact- they are already dirty and scratched. Breakfast very poor, each day the same.
