The hotel both rooms with private bathrooms and a floor that shares a bathroom. We were traveling as a young, couple on a budget through Europe and opted for the shared bathroom. The hotel was a good value considering the price in Rome, on a weekend, on Epiphany (January 6th). We were happy to see that we actually did have a shower and sink in our room, though there really is no privacy. We were there for about 4 days and the staff, which consisted of several people working the front desk were all extremely helpful and nice. They charged me twice for the city tax after not being able to find my receipt but quickly returned my money when the employee who charged me originally returned that afternoon. The hotel room is a bit noisy due the the restaurant below the hotel, the busy street, and the thin walls. Again, considering all this, we appreciated the proximity to the metro/bus station, the price of the room, and the helpfulness/attitude of the staff.

For a short stay the hotel is definitely attractive. Opened with staff all around the clock, you feel in security. At walking distance from Termini and Coliseo, it offers ideal conditions to visit Rom in smooth conditions. The breakfast is simple, but enough.

The actual Saturnia hotel was perfectly nice but as soon as I arrived they sent me over their "sister" hotel which was a 15 min walk with all my bags - no offer of cab or assistance. It was tough to find because there is no sign and it is on the second floor. They were very nice but the hotel was not as nice, but the location was much better. I was then told I had to go back to Saturnia for the next night. It worked out OK for me but it was a pain. Also you have to pay in full upon arrival. Overall OK but be warned they may move you.

The Manager and staff at Hotel Saturnia were the most professional and friendly people I have encountered during my trips to Rome. We were booked to only stay 4 nights at the hotel but the service was so excellent that my adult children asked that we stay another 4 days at Saturnia. Everyone treated my family with the greatest of respect and friendship. I would also strongly recommend the "Ristorante Bar L'Esquilino" on the corner of Via Cavour and Via Ruinaglia; service was friendly and fun and prices were reasonable.

I booked a single room at Saturnia for a few quiet days before and after a 2 week tour. The hotel is on a very small street just off Via Clittuno, very centrally located and close to everything. Please be aware there are no elevators in this rustic hotel - however the staff were very kind to lug my heavy bag up the stairs for me (such gentlemen!). My single room was small, on the first floor so I could hear a bit of street noise outside but not much, surprisingly. I slept soundly through the night for the entire stay - and I'm a very light sleeper. You can't call out from the room telephones but you can receive calls. To make calls you need to use the one near the reception. The breakfast is continental (bread rolls, croissants, cold cuts, cheese, cereal, juice, coffee, tea)... quite average. The dining room is also quite small and cramped. This didn't bother me too much though... I was basically there to shower and sleep, and if you're not too fussy about this, Saturnia could be perfect for you. The staff are excellent - friendly and helpful. The location is brilliant - smack in the middle of everything. The price is affordable for the central location. I felt perfectly safe as a single female traveller, as the area is so central and there's always people about. I'd recommend it for shorter stays of less than a week, it's a great place to base yourself for some Rome exploring at leisure. I covered almost all the highlights and monuments in my 5 days there. Overall a great experience for my first time in Italy.

This was the second time I stayed at Saturnia (two weeks after my first time) and everything was the same, I even got the same room. The highlights of the hotel were the lovely staff, they were very friendly and helpful at all times. The location was also stellar - right in the middle of town without breaking the budget. Only downside would be the size of the room - I had booked a single so I was prepared for a cramped space. As long as this doesn't bother you, it will be fine. There's also a lovely restaurant right outside (they have candles out at night, and the owner's name is Luca), I'd highly recommend it for the great atmosphere, yummy food (try the canneloni!) and the friendly staff (Luca, Roberto and Kosmin). Overall a great experience.

Hotel is comfortable, staff is EXTREMELY HELPFUL and pleasant. Caution!! Hotel Saturnia is located on a tiny street. You can easily walk to it from Termini Station. If you have luggage and need to take a cab, be sure the driver knows that Via Ruinagila cuts into Via Cavour and is just a few minutes away from the Terminal. Don't let him drive you all over Rome looking for this very convenient location.

I would like to say that we enoyed our 3 night stay at the Saturnia Hotel. The hotel staff were very accomadating, always on hand to help, not matter what we needed. Very approachable and friendly staff. The hotel itself is situated in a prime location where most touristic sites can be seen on foot. Public transport links are great. We stayed in the the quad room, which we were pleasantly surprised by.It is a very spacious room, air conditioning an absolute necessity in Rome in summer! However there was no safe, but perhaps on request something could have been sorted out. Only downside I would say is that it was quite noisy at night, due to being situated off the main road. But mostly a plus all round.

This is the very good hotel located in the center of Rome City. Room price is reasonable. The breakfast is superior. The front desk people always willing to help us in all the matters. We really enjoy staying in this hotel. In fact, we already introduce this hotel to several of our friends who are planning to visit Rome in the near future. I'd like to thank the Employees again for their wonderful services while we are stay!!!

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Saturnia and to be honest we can't complain for nothing. The quality of service is very good and the personal is helpful (thank you guys for everything!). Also the breakfast is very good. We must say that they have a nice arrangement in the hotel, lots of nice paintings, beautiful decorations. The rooms are ok. We liked it! The hotel's location is nice - very close to Termini or Cavour metro station, Colosseum or other objectives.

This property had several great asects as well as a couple which could use improvement. First, the staff were absolutely wonderful, helpful, and accommodating. The breakfast was top notch for a 'continental' (unlimited cereal, croissants, buns, meat, soft cheese, jams, butter, hard boiled eggs). The location is just a few minutes walk from the train station towards the colesseum, but off the main road on a small dead end lane (quiet!). Perfect!! The building is older and the rooms fairly spartan with lower quality furnishings. Having a private bath was nice, though our room the first night (on the ground floor with entrance onto the street through a locking gate) was a bit noisier and had a small sewer vent in the bathroom which gave the whole room a bad odor until the AC kicked in. Individually controlled AC at no extra cost a plus during the summer. We switched rooms the second night and were in a nicer room on the 3rd floor (no elevator, but we enjoy our food so the few extra calories burned were a good thing). Quiet room with a view into the gardens across the way being tended by nuns. Overall a great value and super convenient location. We will likely return here four our next visit.

We are disapointed with Hotel Saturnia because when we arrived they offered us a tiny room on the 3rd floor without air conditioning, without hair drier, and the hotel don't hace a lift. And all because they needed our room for a group, so they offered us instead another hotel for the first 2 days(Esquilino) which was suposed to be better, but we did'nt have nor air conditioning, nor fridge, nor a safe neither a fan. The toilet was very small and the walls were dirty. As we paid in advance (not refundable)we couln' t go to another hotel the other 2 days, so we went back to saturnia hotel, which was a bit better but no airconditioning (only a fan), no hair drier,so they they lie on the web when they say that they have it.

This hotel was nice, but the room was rather small. We only stayed one night at the end of our trip so it was great for that. Out of the 3 hotels we stayed in while in Roma, it was the smallest and most expensive. It's a decent hotel if you don't mind small rooms.

Staff very friendly, in a relatively good area, rooms spacious by European standards, simple but clean and tasteful. Take note that only some rooms have air-conditioning, and the rooms away from the main street (Cavour) are nicer. Even the rooms off of Cavour are sufficiently quiet with the windows closed, though if you're visiting in mid-summer you might not want the windows closed if your room doesn't have A/C. My only complaint was a lack of hot water at times (I can handle luke-warm showers, but these were sometimes ice cold). Still, a very nice hotel.

I found the staff at the hotel to be very welcoming and helpful. In particular, one of the people at the front desk took the time to offer valuable travel information about Roma, and to help me with the train schedules to go to Napoli for a day trip. Another staff member at the front desk went to the kitchen to lend me a bottle opener. Both of these gestures were very much appreciated!

Hotel Saturnia exceeding my expectations for a small, discount hotel in Rome. The rooms were small (although it could have been worse) and the restroom was in the hallway. However, besides that, I found the hotel staff to be extremely helpful and courteous. They even let me use their phone when my phone card would not work. They also provided me with all the information I needed in order to have an enjoyable stay in Rome. The hotel is close to the Coliseum, but a bit of a walk to the historic area, which isn't accessible by the metro. Great discount hotel, and I would stay there again.

We have asked face to face for a bedroom, as we have see previous in the internet that he was available and they told us in the reception that they had no rooms. But we know that the room was available. Next day we have booked by internet that room with the last minute price service. When we saw the room we thought that was a joke! Horrible price/quality, the only thing that deserves that price was the breakfast, very good I admit. An accomodation property is not only a roof...Hotel with two tiny stars!

We had booked to stay here for 4 nights ina double room without bathroom, so it was a nice surprise when we got upgraded for one night to a private bathroom, although the room was so cramped we had to climb on the bed from the door! The next day we had to get out of the room at 10am for them to move our stuff to the new room, which when we got the the key at 2pm we were very happy with the size of the room which was really really spacious, which im led to believe is very rare in Rome! But although we liked the size of the room, it was unfortunate that in the shower, on the high ledge, I found someone eles USED soap with their HAIR still on it :( not very pleasant at all!!! The used bathroom was not very clean either, and the toilet didnt flush for the whole first day we were in the new room. Overall I would probably not stay here again, although it was in a great location and we could walk everywhere or get the metro easily. The Customer Service was great they were all really helpful, especially upgrading us! Sorry for the long review I just wanted to fit it all in! You are probably safe to book this hotel just be sure to check the shower when you first go in the room lol!!

The Saturnia is a very nice hotel and the location near the train station is really easy and convenient, plus AC!!! I gave the overall stay such a low mark because after two nights (a 4 night reservation) they asked us to move hotels due to some sort of construction/water problem. It was supposed to be a hotel upgrade and a better city center location, as well as a free taxi to the airport. It wasn't a major inconvenience to us, and Saturnia was very nice about the problems but the hotel they moved us to was not very nice, the staff was rude, the AC didn't work and they tried to feign ignorance about the airport taxi. (we also saw them rip off another couple when giving the cost of the taxi to the airport) So DO NOT stay at the Fellini B&B- but Saturnia was lovely

Very good situation, near the Termini, Colloseum, major bus lines. Famous St. Maria Maggiore chirch is only 200 meters from here!!! Rooms: Aware isolated apartment next door to hotel (which is one of the hotel's room) - it's realy near the street (3 meters between bed and cars!!!) and VERY Noisy! Another room on the 3-rd floor was lovely and quiet! The staff vas very polite. Especially Virgilio, who gave us many good advises about the Rome. (Virgilio, hi from Russia! Thank you!) The rooms were ok! Unfortunately at 8,30 a.m.(breakfast time) ham and cheese were finished...the electric grill was broken and the juices (grape and orange) seemed fresh coloured water (with sugar of course!). The girl of the bar (stranger) was rude and the "italian cappuccino" was coffee and milk foam (without milk)..... One morning, we had to wait for 15 minutes to have breakfast because there weren't free tables (only 3 round tables and a little square one). The guy was nice and polite (but like every Roman he's always right!), rooms were quite and air conditioned worked! But 90 euros/night is quite a theft (althought Rome is expensive)!!! I conformed myself with no problems but my girlfriend was a bit disppointed....

The staff is very friendly and speaks good English. The room was very very small, and it barely fits the luggage. The bathroom is very tine, specially the shower. The cleanness was very well done. It is quite near Termine Station, about 5 minutes walking. The breakfast was not very vast, just plain, but reasonable stuff (cappuccino, coffee, chocolate, juice, cereal, bread, toast, butter, jam, cheese and that’s it). I would not stay again in this hotel because it is very expensive for what they offer you (size of the rooms, hotel surroundings, breakfast, etc.)

The accommodation was very basic but clean and in a perfect location. The continental breakfast was good and the night manager had everything ready for us although we were checking out at 6.30 am. Francesco, the day concierge was very helpful and made some phone calls for us to change taxi timings and check on flights. He is very knowledgeable about Rome and gave us good advice on routes etc. We were woken at 3.30 am by some ladies who had obviously had a good night but apart from that, the noise was no worse than you would expect in the middle of a city. Another mirror in the bedroom would have been helpful. The bathroom was tiny but adequate.

The room had no window and to get to the room on 4th floor. We had to climb the last strange labyrint steps fromt 3rd to 4th floor which was inconvenient especially with luggage.

Hotel needs refreshing: stairs were not clean, breakfast room had very old/battered chairs, lobby area behind desk needs repainting. Room was very small and too expensive for a 2-star hotel. No elevator. No instructions in the room for either how to contact the Hotel desk by phone or how to work the small safe. Rooms are not soundproofed. I stayed there only because I couldn't find a 3-star hotel.

Location convenient on foot to the station, metro, colleseum and other attractions. On quiet side street. The welcome cup of coffee was greatly appreciated; as was having our bags carried up the stairs. The breakfast was very adequate. Full-time front desk staff was able to help with advice and directions.

This hotel is a typical little European hotel with small but quaint rooms and wonderful service. The complimentary breakfast was very good, and even has a waiter serving cappucino and other beverages. Riccardo was extremely helpful to us and Marco in the cafe was absolutely priceless. This hotel is a nice little stroll to the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill area, and a bit longer walk to Trevi fountain and the Pantheon but that's the best way to see Rome! It is also a very short walk to Termini station where you can catch the metro to Vatican City. The pizzeria on the corner was great also! I would definitely stay here again!

Very, very central - about ten minutes by foot (with heavy bags) from the Termini railway station. Ancient ruins, museums and all sightseeing destinations in central Rome close by (on foot: Coluseum 10 Minutes, Fontana di Trevi 15 min., St. Peters 30-40 mins, Piazza Navona 30 Min.). Nothing fancy, but very clean and comfortable and the hotel staff will make you a killer coffee for breakfast!

We were asked to pay in advance, something never done in any hotel in the world. (we dress properly and clean, we are not coming from wilderness) In the room we found one smoked cigarrette on the floor. There is no wifi service and no conection to Internet. Room is recently renewed, but bad care after that.

The employees were very friendly and helpful. We only ate breakfast once at the hotel, and it was okay. It was the perfect location to be able to catch a bus/train/subway...just had to walk up to Termini. We stayed in two different rooms. The first room was on the first floor, but the room was SUPER TINY...but comfortable. We also stayed on the fourth floor, which was a nice climb up the stairs, since there was no lift/elevator, but the room was much BIGGER...the bed was less comfortable, though. I enjoyed my stay and would DEFINITELY go back!

My family and I, two adults, two adolocent children, stayed at the Saturnia for three nights. We wished not to stay at an American hotel, and experience the full Italian experience. Although the room was small, it sufficed our needs. Although there was no elevator, it was not critical. Although the bedsa re not constructed like the cushioned American beds, we all slept well. The room was comfortable (it was Spring). At night, the out side activity made for some minor disturbances, but it was not overwhelming. The site is near a nun's convent, so the bells rang for prayer very early in the morning which added to the charm of the brief stay. The location is quite convenient, close, but not too close to Termini. Breakfast was delightful with various platters of meat, boiled egg, cheese, breads, and pastries. The people behind the counter or the hostess were courteous and pleasant, and available when needed. I strongly recommend this place as a great value for a brief stay.

Myself and 2 friends very much enjoyed our stay at Saturnia. It was located close to the Termini train station, which made hauling our luggage easier by foot, and was within walking distance to many attractions!

My daughter and I really enjoy this little Hotel, the best part of it is the staff, they will go out of the way to help you. The airline left our luggage and Tiziano at the desk would call the airline frequently and finally got them to deliver my suitcase at the Hotel. The rooms are small but I've seen smaller and we didn't mind, they are spotless and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is good too. Saturnia is perfectly located close to the Tremini Train Station which is the gate to public transportation. I noticed some of the rooms are newly renovated and I think that's what I got, I even had a hair dryer which I didn't expect, considering the two star rating of this hotel. I strongly recommend it, you get your money's worth.

The ONLY thing that we can coplain about, is that we had to walk four stories to get to our room, no big problem if you're healthy, but ask which floor you're going to live on. Otherwise, excellent.

We spent four nights at this hotel. The hotel was an older building that needs some modern renovation. One of our lights didn't work and we could have used a chair in our room. The bathroom was worn but clean and functional with plenty of hot water. The room was quiet and adequate for a family of four. The beds were clean and comfortable. The staff was wonderful and helpful. They suggested two fantastic restaurants, gave us accurate directions to sites and were always cheerful. The breakfast was good. The location is within walking distance of most sites and appeared to be in a safe neighborhood. I thought the price was a little high for the quality of our room especially during off season. The only thing I did not like was that they wanted our payment right up front at checkin because of our booking through this booking firm. We were not aware of this and it surprised us. The only hotel of eight that we stayed in during our vacation that wanted money up front.

This is THE best hotel I've ever stayed in for the money. Its right in the heart of Rome, and the rooms are actually really nice. Cool decor, modern furniture, etc. The staff was REALLY good too and really went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and accomodated. Two guys in particular, Gigi and Ricardo, were especially friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a cool, authentic hotel and don't want to spend a ton of money. There were only two drawbacks.... 1. They advertise that they have internet access but they don't. You have to go to an internet cafe next door and its not that cheap. 2. There's no lift...so, if you're on the 4th floor it sucks. Other than that, this place was a big winner.
