Nice, clean and unexpensive. Just a (small) critical point: no room service after 10 pm.

It is a clean hotel close to the university complex of Roma tre, therefore ideal for visiting researchers, but quite far from the city centre. Four stars are indeed too much for the quality of the standard room (mine had no desk or table) and for the low standards of breakfast, but the prices are cheap. Far from the city centre, but surrounded by many restaurants that offer better and less touristic food.

It was a nice enough hotel, it is very near the metro but the area is not too desireable at night; as the hotel is tucked away from a main road and the area full of prostitutes! Apart from that everything was fine. The staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice, rooms were clean but the one we were allocated was tiny. At the end of the day there is a lot to see and do in Rome so it's an OK hotel if you intend on trekking around.

I am a business traveller and frequently go to Rome, and I am well aware of what the price/quality ratio in different hotels are. Hotel Saint Paul has very unfavorable location, being far from the historical center and in an area which is a mix of residential and industrial. This area could also be dangerous late at night. I don't understand how Hotel Saint Paul has four stars - at maximum they should be three. My room was extremely small, and although the hotel seems new - the shower was leaking, the sink was leaing. The hotel has no restaurant, the TV in the room was very small and the cosmetics provided were in minimal quantities. I could hear well what the people in the neighbouring rooms are doing. The staff seemed helpful - but accustomed to welcoming only tourists - and although, I explained that I am a business traveller and regularly in Rome, they tried to burden me with unnecessary explanations, instead of focusing on speed and efficiency which is essential. In conclusion, I will never go back to this hotel - for the same price I could get bigger better rooms in better locations in the city, in hotels that have a restaurant (I only booked this place because I was travelling last minute and there was little available elsewherer).

I was disappointed that the air conditioning did not work in each individual room. It was comfortable at night with the windows open, but extremely hot midday. I was informed that the air is turned on for all individual rooms later in the year, however, common areas were air conditioned. The hotel staff was excellent and well informed. Very helpful. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. There wasn't much in the area of the hotel but the metro was just a short walk away which made it convienient and inexpensive to visit the sights.

If you want to park your car when you arrive and take it when you leave without paying nothing, that's the hotel for you! In 10 minutes or less you are at the metro station. Otherwise you can take the bus in front of the hotel and arrive in 15 minutes in the city center. The surroundings don't offer so much but if you have to eat something there is a pizza service that brings pizza and other stuffs directly in the room, or if you ask to the reception some indication they'll suggest you a restaurant that - listen to this!! - has a car service that picks you up, bring you to the restaurant and bring you back to the hotel. Regarding the rooms, all are very clean and new. The hotel offers also a huge buffet for breakfast.

Single room, no table to work, room small, no pay TV and small TV screen. No attention to switch of air condition, I woke up at 2 at night, because it was very cold. It was quite ok. I am surprised that Cappucino is served from a machine. If travel in the country of Coffee I anticipate fresh prepared cappucino etc. When you arrive late and you would like anything to eat, it would be conveniant to be served in the hotel, because the next restaurant is quite a bit away. Your people on the reception have been very friendly and competent.

All was fine until check-out time. After waiting nearly 15 minutes to check my colleague out (with one member of staff apparently doing nothing at reception), we had to leave to get to a meeting and return later in the morning to check-out. This finally spurred one of the staff into action as he pursued our taxi down the street demanding we come back and settle the bill - even though we still had 3 hrs to check-out-time.

Hotel was very close to the University and close to the subway. Reception was warm and accommodating. We were recommended a local restaurant within walking distance to the hotel and enjoyed one of the best meals we had in all of Italy. Rooms are new, clean and well organized although a little small. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was very nice and the staff is extremly helpful. The hotel is about 8 blocks from the train station. Get very good directions to the hotel before you go or else you will never be able to find it. The only problem with the hotel is the location- the subway stops at 10 p.m. and you have to pay about $20 to take a cab back if you miss the subway. If you can afford the cabs, this is a wonderful place to stay.

The hotel is clean, attractive and reasonably spacious with a good breakfast. However, we were disappointed by the lack of available services and non-responsiveness of the desk staff. The hotel does not cash travelers' checks, and the staff could not tell us where to find a bank. Worse, I asked for help booking a business dinner reservation, but was assured by the desk clerk that the restaurant I wanted to use was closed (it was not - he simply hadn't called, and didn't tell me that he had failed to do so). We also found that, while Metro access is good, the Metro closes at 9:00 PM and it's extremely difficult to get a cab back to the EUR district in the evening. Cabbies had difficulty finding the hotel. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Saint Paul is a very clean and friendly hotel. Our room was spacious and had a lovely balcony. Breakfast was plentifull and enjoyable. The only downsides are that firstly, building work on the hotel is still on going, (We were woken in the morning by hammering on more than one occasion), and secondly, that its some distance from the city centre. This is not so much a problem in the day time due to the cheap and efficient public transport, but in the evening, getting back to the hotel after the trains have stopped at 10pm is difficult.

Nice little hotel, tucked away discreetly. It was just a little unfortunate that the website didn't state that the hotel was still undergoing works (particularly to the restaurant area). Having said this though, there was no noise to report and the balcony was ample space to get some outdoor air from the room. A little bit away from the city centre so perfect if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast / room services were very good but the bar area is very small so don't count on it being somewhere for a good old knees-up. Information from Venere website very good and accurate and reservation was very smooth. Would use this hotel again if I had to go back.

Very nice and big rooms. the breakfast is also very nice (with eggs and bacon). The elevator is problematic. At breakfast tine you can wait up to 20 (!!) minutes for the elevator. The location is not the best - 12 long minutes to the nearest metro station.

The hotel wasn't finished when we were there and therefore it definitely wasn't a 4* hotel. However it was still a decent hotel. The tube is 10 mins away and gets you to the tourist areas quickly. Nearby St Pauls is worth a visit before going on to the main sights. The breakfast was good if repetitive and the rooms were clean. Overall not a bad hotel that will improve when its finished. The surrounding area is not great but then you only see it to and from the tube so no big deal.

New and clean hotel, but not to 4-star standards. Rooms were not carpeted and we could barely turn around, although the bath was new and larger than most we've stayed at in Europe. Bed was terrible, and moved around the floor; split in the middle kept coming apart. Heating was bad. Biggest problem was no walking access to restaurants during the Holidays...the only 2 places close by were closed on Holidays and Sunday...we ate the snacks in the room to survive! The elevator was awful....it continually was stuck on the 5th floor, so we had to climb stairs and bag drag up and down.
