I found the hotel modern, clean, easy to locate, extremely close to the Termini train station and thus to all modes of public transport.

This was our first trip to Rome. It was a typical European hotel. The location is great! Within walking distance of the train station and a meeting point for the Hop-on Hop-off tours. Very small rooms and bathrooms. It was however, clean, which in my opinion is what counts. You don't spend a lot of time in your room except to sleep. Staff was very pleasant. Breakfast is your typical European breakfast as well. Coffee was horrible so I don't recommend the breakfast. There is a McDonald's across the street from the train station so I recommend getting coffee and a muffin from there instead of the hotel.

The hotel is a basic hotel close to the Termini station. The area has about 50 of this kind of hotels. As it´s close to the station it has the advantage of being very accesible, however, as with all stations, the neigbourhood attracts many "strange" people. This does not make you feel very comfortable. The rooms were clean, there was always warm water, but the hotel was nothing special. Really bad was the noise from within the hotel as well as from outside the hotel. Next time I go to Rome I will get a 3 star hotel, this was not such a good experience.

This hotel is a great place to stay, close to Termini, safe area. Plenty of places to eat, a laundromat is close by also, the restaurant next to the laundry is expensive and charges for things you didn't order, so be careful. The reception staff speak English and made phone calls for us to negotiate things in Italian which was very helpful

We chose this hotel because we could walk to it from Termini station. It was surrounded by shops and cafes and very central. Our room was very small but clean and the bed very comfortable. We were lucky to be given a room that faced onto a back courtyard. This meant that we could leave the window open to let in fresh air rather than having to pay for the use of the airconditioner. It would be worthwhile for guets to request aroom at the back as I am sure the streetside would have been much noisier.

When we arrived there were major works laying new tiles at the front. There were no signs warning us of the redecoration, and no welcome or aid in tiptoing around the newly laid tiles to get to the reception area. The stairs and lift area were dusty and dirty, certainly not at all inviting. The rooms were quite run down and not very welcoming, and the traffic noise, despite the double glazed windows - loud. It was also not explained about the security measures to get into our room later in the evening and we found ourselves locked out until we went back down to reception and had the procedures explained to us. The location near the railway station however was very convenient.

Very good place to stay, close to Termini station and within walking distance to some of Rome's best attractions. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet as it faced the inner courtyard rather than the road. Rooms are exactly as the pictures show them. Would stay here again and recommend to others. Only thing to be aware of is that breakfast and air conditioning are extra on top of the room rate.

This property is close to the main train station in Rome and easy to find. It is also close to most major sites and the Metro and makes a good place to stay if you are looking for a quiet comfortable bed at a reasonable price. The rooms are small and there are no public areas (other than the breakfast room)so it's not a place to stay if you plan to spend a lot of time hanging around the hotel. There's also a fabulous, simple pizza restaurant right next door so you don't have to travel far to find your first meal after arriving in Rome.

In short. Very good place to stay. Very close to Termini station (trains, metro, tramway). Room was small but nice. We did not have breakfasts but everywhere around you can have it for good price and what you want. Walking distance to Colosseum and city centre.

We greatly recommend this Hotel for many reasons: the front desk staff is helpful and effective (efficace) ( Ivan is fluent in English and French). The room (no.31) is a bit tight for space but is super quiet and impeccable. We spent 2 nights in early September and it was hot (mid 30s Celsius) we were glad to pay for the A/C. The location is excellent. We took the train from airport and once at the Hotel, we used the Metro (subway) to travel around Rome. Everything is at a walking distance from the Hotel. We found grocery store, internet cafes (cheapest in that area), souvenirs shops, great restaurants (price/quality) all located within 500m from the hotel. The best advise we can give you is don't waist your $$$ on Hotel's breakfast, you will be very disappointed (coffee is REALLY awful!) We had wonderful espresso and cappuccino served with a croissant (for less than 2 Euros) on Via Cavour passed Maggiore Church, on left side. The general area around Termini could overwhelm older folks and inexperienced travelers. This area is bustling with immigrants and tourists but we (2 women in late 40ies...)never felt in danger nor threatened even when we got lost and had the map out at 11pm. In general, this Hotel is a 10/10 for the cleanliness, the price and the location alone. We paid 70 Euros a night plus A/C. It was an internet deal on Venere.com.

Perhaps not the best part of town - we knew that when we booked, but very convenient for the station and actually a pretty good location for Rome's major places of interest. The price was relatively modest, but it was perhaps a case of 'getting what you pay for'. Or perhaps not quite as much. Air conditioning was available, but was an additional cost - which wasn't clear from the site. So was breakfast, which frankly wasn't worth the price in any case - but there are of course no shortage of alternatives nearby. The staff were nice and friendly enough, but reception was hidden behind a fairly unprepossessing hall and the stairs and tiny lift. General appearance was a bit tatty both in the public areas and the room itself and standards of cleanliness were not of the rigorous high standard you generally encounter in Italy. We had to ask for the back of the toilet to be cleaned (which was then done promptly, in fairness). Overall a bit difficult to recommend - we've stayed in much better accommodation (at a not dissimilar price) in the centre of Rome and far better still, a little further away in Prati on the other side of the river.

Information on site isn't exactly correct. Breakfast was an extra 5 euro and Air Conditioning was an extra 10 per day which seemed a bit of a rip off. No fridge in room and room was only cleaned every other day, so we had to keep asking for extra towels and loo roll!! Area around the station wasn't the best but it wasn't any worse than any area around a major train station. Rome was fantastic though.

Air conditioner was very loud, and was not included in the price. Breakfast was included each morning. Night staff was rude and seemed bothered when we checked out at 5 am. Bathroom was very small and hard to get around. Room was spacious and clean. Good location very near to train station/subway, although the immediate area didn't seem like a good area of town. Overall, comfortable room for a good price.

Lobby was not lit when we entered and reception desk is behind elevator, which was very disconcerting as we were arriving at 9:30 p.m. and streets around are not the best. Couple we were with had several hairs on their sheets when they checked it, and called reception; receptionist changed linen on their insistence, while insisting it was not his fault, it was the laundry's fault. This may have been so, but if he had just changed the linen and apologized, it would have been better all round. Very noisy outside of rooms at night, so hard to get to sleep. It was only bearable because we were only staying one night.

There were 5 heavy days in Rome full of walking, reading historical reviews, making pictures. Hotel RomAntica was a safe harbour in the evenings after cca 20 km of walking each day. The location of the hotel was perfect for us: 5 minutes from the Termini railway station (comfortable arrival and departure to Fiumicino airport), 5 minutes from the underground station. The breakfast (included in the price) was pleasant. The head receptionist was very helpfull and friendly. The room was daily cleaned, well equipped just for the tired tourists. So, hotel RomAntica was a lucky choice.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we were at least cautious with the opinions readed on venere because a friend told us that it was very risky to book a three stars hotel in Italy as they don´t usually keep up with the average european standards... But it was a complete surprise to find out how wrong he was, at least regarding the Romantica Hotel. The room was ample cosy and specially very clean, the impression we got was that the room was recently refurbished. About the double bed only good things, despite being two separated mattress put together it was very comfortable. If we have to point out something negative we will have to say that the bathroom could have been more spacious. The breakfast is minimalistic but it came as a surprise as we though that it was not included on the price. Definitely nothing to boast about but at least you can throw something to your stomach and go on from there. I utterly recommend this little hotel if you are looking for a low priced well situated hotel in Rome.

This hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the main rail station and within walking distance to many museums. Being near the station though means taking a little more care late at night when the security risks are higher. We took the metro out to the roman ruins at Ostica Antica which were impressive. Also took bus H to Trastevere, a bustling, older part of Rome not to be missed, especially the old church with the magnificent mosaic.

Hotel RomAntica exceeded our expectations. The concierge knew our names as we walked in the door; they were always friendly and full of useful information. I was excited to find a single room for 50 euros per night, and in this regard it was excellent value for money. It was a very short walk to Termini Station, which was so convenient, also there is a supermarket and restaurants nearby. However there are some things I didn't like about the hotel. Firstly, when I asked if there were any tours I could take around Rome, the lady at the counter said 'yes' and kept working - she didn't suggest where to go to find the tours or any help at all! Secondly, my bathroom smelled so badly, there must have been something in the ventilation fan or down the drain. The rooms were also uncomfortably hot and I couldn't turn the heater off. Having said that, the rooms are quite comfortable, I got a double bed all to myself for a single price, TV, safe, and cute little balcony. Breakfast was included but it starts at 7.30am and I was out doing things by that time, so I couldn't take advantage of it. Overall I would recommend it only if you weren't intending to spend too much time in the room, as they are hot and cramped, but they are also one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in and considering the location, fantastic value for money. There is also a tour office nearby that do great tours of Rome and surrounding areas which I found really useful.

I'm one to complain when it is not as presented, and one to compliment when it exceeds expectations. I had the misfortune to get the Winter Vomit bug while in Italy with my 2 small children. I passed out while visiting the Vatican, and my 11 and 12 year old got me back to then hotel at about 17:00, and I spent the rest of the night as sick as a dog.. And neither of my children had anything to eat since lunch. Well, at about 21:00, the front desk clerk (Salim) knocked on the door to see if I was OK. Then he proceeded to take both my kids out for pizza, and then went to the Pharmacy to get me some meds. In the meantime, the other front desck clerk (Female, didnt get her name though) brought me up some tea and Honey...What a place.. Convienient to all, Clean And a great staff. I will stay again, and will recomend to others...GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY..

The room was basic and small but clean and very adequate as a home base. The proximity to Termini Station was wonderful - two blocks to all public transportation. The hotel is within a fair walk (20 minutes) to many points of interest. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Numerous restaurants and shops within a short distance. Our room was quiet enough and the elevator worked fine. Shortcoming for me was breakfast. The provided coffee, roll, fruit and juice were OK but not a hearty/protein beakfast to keep you going for a long day of touring. Overall, found the hotel to be a great value for the price. Would return and recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is conveniently located just a couple of blocks south of the Termini train station. The man who checked us in couldn't have been more pleasant. Our room on the 4th floor was clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. There was a decent selection of TV stations. The bathroom, while small, was just fine. The morning breakfast (extra cost) was basic, but filling. There's an Internet point a block away (which a hotel staff member pointed us to), plus several restaurants, stores, and a small supermarket within a block. All in all, a very pleasant place to stay, close to the train station and the Metro. The Metro lines cross at Termini, so both the A and B lines are available. We'll likely stay at the RomAntica the next time we're in Rome.

Nice hotel, very well located (next to the main train station, so very handy if you arrive at Termini and this is the only place where you have both metro lines), not too far from all the main sites (roughly 20 minutes to Trevi). Clean bedrooms, rather quiet. Well heated (it was very cold outside!). Shower, no bath, which is a shame, but not dramatic! The staff was pleasant and very helpful. This hotel was reasonably priced (for Rome), but the location is a little dodgy at night. Very convenient location for lugging your bags to the Termini if you need to take a train (two blocks away). The rooms were very spacious and clean. Tile in the bathroom was really beautiful and had obviously been recently remodeled. Lots of noise in the morning; you can hear everyone getting up (very early) because of the tile floors. Breakfast was pretty bad. We didn't even bother the second morning.

I had 3 nights in this hotel with my girlfriend in Sept. I wanted to be close to Termini as we were arriving and leaving by train and this hotel is very close, 5 mins easy walk or less. This also means it is close to the Metro if you want to use it to visit some of the sites around the city. The rooms are well furnished and appear to have been refurbished recently and were quite large and airy. The hotel doesn't have much in the way of facilities, but you get what you pay for and we were very happy with what we got for the price. There are restaurants, bars, shops, internet cafe's etc very nearby. If it's hot you'll need the aircon which is 10 euro extra. I would stay here again.

A bit noisy from the big street outside. But if you pay extra for airconditioning and may be able to close the window at night this wount be a problem. Very nice staff. We were very pleased with our stay. The staff were quite friendly, gave directions when needed (and provided a map,) and even tried to teach us a little Italian after we made some bungled attempts. Our room, though small (but what hotel rooms in Italy aren't?) was clean and surprisingly comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was tiny, but we managed to make it work. We expected to be charged for air conditioning and breakfast. Air conditioning was 10 euro per day, breakfast wound up being included in the room rate! Street noise was barely noticeable. We were so delighted to open our window and be able to hear a violinist and singer on the street below... and when we closed the window again, we couldn't hear a peep from outside. However, noise from the hallway outside our room was definitely noticeable - even amplified! Particularly frustrating when the people in the next room returned drunk and giggly at 3:00 a.m. two night in a row. Do expect to be asked to leave your room key whenever you leave the hotel - presumably to prevent it from being lost or stolen while you're out. This never posed a problem for us. It was one less thing to carry! A small elevator is there, so you don't need to haul your luggage up the stairs. The hotel is located less than 5 minutes walk from the Stazione Termini, which was very convenient for getting on the Metro or catching a bus as needed. (Also convenient for the Leonardo Express train from Fiumicinio.) Not the most picturesque area, but quite handy. Never felt unsafe in the area surrounding the hotel, and even found a delicious place for dinner, 2 blocks away, called Est Est Est. The place immediately outside the hotel had some yummy pizza as well, and outstanding tiramisu. Our experience was good, and we'd definitely recommend Hotel Romantica travellers who don't mind staying in a no-frills type of place.

Roomy, clean, new rooms! The ceiling corner of the shower was completely covered in black mold because the shower head was spraying up onto the wall. I have no idea why the staff has not addressed that issue. Other than that spot, we LOVED the room. Just a 3 minute walk to the train station, and all of the sights are easily walkable from the hotel.

Our one night stay (7 Sep 07) was at the end of the tour on the way out of Italy (2100 arrival and out at 0800). The hotel was somewhat noisy but it is in a very busy part of Rome. Our bathroom sink was very smelly but the rest of the facilities were clean and adequate for our needs. It is close to many amenities such as the train station (five mins). Breakfast was included in the bill despite the booking note that it was extra. This hotel is best for the backpacker type as a one transit hotel for trains and transportation to the airport. We did not have the opportunity to test their services but the evening staff appeared helpful and competent.

Great for the price, got free breakfast on all 3 nights (despite being quoted 8Euro each/day). Not in the prettiest part of Rome, but very convienent for transport too and from airport. A little noisy from nearby cathedral and their bells ringing, though nothing you can do about that!!! Would definitely recommend.

We would not stay here again, main reason, not very friendly, and that matters. Breakfast was OK, but the diningroom was very small and hot (it was August and Hot) Rooms were clean, and good bathroom. Easy to find from the Termini. But their people skills let them down. NO we would not stay here again.

Stayed in a double room with own bathroom, which seemed to be a novelty compared with other hotels in the same price range. Doesn't look much from the outside, but really nice inside - lots of marble and really clean. Staff were friendly-one spoke excellent English, another; not so good! Breakfast was included, contrary to booking info. Did notice that on hotel website a double room and breakfast was advertised for 5 Euros less than we paid via Venere....! Never mind, conveniently located for Termini, and very good for the price. Recommended.

This hotel was horrible. First of all, they charged us for air conditioning, which we didn't know we had to pay for. Then, after we paid for the air conditioning, we realized that the air conditioning unit in our room didn't work, and they were not willing to help us fix it. They claimed that they didn't have any extra rooms for us to move to, but then suddenly one happened to open up after we argued with them about it. We then had to pack up all of our stuff and move to a separate building, which we thought was an inconvenience, but they weren't very helpful on giving us a discount on our room, even though we had to move all of our stuff from one room to another. The staff wasn't very friendly and half of them didn't know what was going on. It was a horrible hotel and I would recommend NOT staying there.

Molto bello, lo raccomandiamo per tutti coloro che vogliono visitare Roma stando a due passi dalla stazione Termini. La sera si puo' godere delle tipiche trattorie romane. Prezzo interessante.

We are a young couple from Argentina. We stayed in RomAntica for 3 nights in a double room. To our surprise it was very hot inside the room and had the ilussion to have air conditioning but you had to pay 10 more euros for this service...that we did not know. The room was very clean. Breakfast is okay, nothing special. Staff was very helpful and kind. The location is great, literally, only 2 minutes walking to Termini. In conclusion, good hotel if you are not going to spend all day in it.

The hotel is very near to Termini Station, and you can walk to many atractions ou get the metro at Termini Station. The room was quiet, clean and safe, but small. The staff was very nice. Although there are no public areas (just the room), we were in Rome, and then there was no reason for us to stay at hotel longer than the night time !

Had four nights at RomAntica. Close to Termini station and about 20 minutes walk to Colosseum and other major sights. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Aircon and breakfast not included in price. Area is not glamorous but always felt safe. Lots of laundry, internet and phone shops nearby. Good value and would stay again.

We had a great time at the RomAntica. It is extremely close to Termini, and 10-15 min's walk to the Coliseum and the Foro Romano. There is not much English spoken here, but with a little English and little Italian you should be fine. The area around Termini is about like any other big city. It is noisier and more congested than other parts of town. We never felt unsafe and there are usually lots of people on the street. However, if you can live with a bit more noise, you will be rewarded with easy access and lots of wonderful restaurants.

Be careful if you arrive by bus from RyanAir flights, as we did. The bus drops you off on the opposite side of the train station that the hotel is on. Late at night, that can be an unsavory area, but you can walk through the station (a little safer), and from the other side, it is a short walk. Do not listen to taxi drivers who tell you it is too long of a walk in a very bad neighborhood, and they will take you there safely for €15-20. It's not worth it, and you could be scammed, as we were, by the driver (quick-change artist!)! Except for its cheesy name, the RomAntica is a convenient, inexpensive place to land in Rome if it is only overnite, on your way to someplace else. The staff was friendly and helpful -- what little bit of contact we had with them, as we arrived very late and left fairly early. The RomAntica is on the "better" side of the train station, if there is one. We felt comfortable walking to a restaurant -- although it was fairly late and some had already stopped serving. One complaint I have is that the breakfast was not included, and at €10, I believe, seemed overpriced. In all the years we have traveled in Italy, this was the first time a hotel did not include some kind of breakfast. A friend of ours, an Italian hotelier, told us that is a new trend in Italy, unfortunately.

RomAntica - more antica than romantica, but fine for its location and price. They were able to change the bed from double to twin, when we pointed out the error. The reception for several 'hotels' is on the ground floor and the hotels are on various other floors - there is a lift.

The price is about right, given the prime location that is quite near to Termini. The room that I'm staying at is facing to the main street, it was very noisy during the night if you didn't purchase the option of air conditioning. The temperature isn't that bad when I visited the hotel in May, so I didn't add the 10 EUROS for air conditioning. However, as I mentioned, the street noise is so loud that I find it quite hard to have a good quality of sleeping. So if you're planning to stay in RomAntica, make sure you add 10 EUROS to your budget and keep the windows shut if you want to have a good sleep.

Very nice place at a good price. We stayed at another hotel across the tracks on our first stay, and it was twice the price. We sacrificed almost nothing, and saved $150 a night here. It is very close to the train station, which means you can walk to nearly every sight, or catch a bus, train, or metro. The people were very nice, and we highly recommend it. For quick directions; As you walk away from the train, go to the left side of the station and you will see Via Gioberti (street) take that for two blocks, turn left and you will see the small sign on your right.

The hotel was lovely. Breakfast was included which we had either forgotten or didn't know which was an unexpected surprise. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. It was a great location very close to the station and there was a choice of restaurants to eat at in the area.

For the price (especially for Roma), the room was very clean and quite modern. Very good location, only a few minutes away from Termini station where you can take the metro. Anyway most of the interesting places are at walking distance. The only downturns were the bed's size (our feet were outside the bed!) and the noise of our neighbours when they came back late at night (inside our room we could hear everything).

The hotel is nice, clean, the room looks like in the pictures, a little small, but ok. The room si s clean and has AC. The hotel is very close to a lot of things, and makes it perfect for a couple of days' stay to visit Rome. Security was surprisingly good. I would stay again at RomAntica if i were to stay in Rome again.

Hi,I would have to recommend this hotel for a trip to rome.We were there for five nights and found its location to be excellent.its beside the Termini station and therefore is a five min walk from the metro line.restaurants where top motch around the hotel, large selection and very reasonable.breakfast in the hotel was good, however the staff were very grumpy and didnt manage a smile or a hello in the morning. We had never been to rome before and the sites were unreal. The hotel was perfect for relaxing in after being out all day on our feet.

The hotel is located just two blocks away from the central station (Termini Station) so transportation by subway is easy even though Rome's subway system does not cover so many places in the city. Breakfast was NOT included in the rate (5 euros per person) and was only reasonable. Hotel surroundings, in spite of its proximity to the train station, look safe and busy (grocery, laundry, internet are at hand). Good options of restaurants nearby. Hotel staff speaks English and were friendly and helpful. Stayed on the second floor and the lift, although small, worked well. I was on a vacation family travel with older children (5 people) and stayed for five nights. The rooms are small but clean. Credit card was well accepted. Would stay again.

Although small, this hotel is an excellent choice for short visits to Rome. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from Termini station (we arrived by bus from the airport) and within easy access of all the sites of Rome. The staff were friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel is great, just two mins. walk from the main railway station. The approch and entrance to the hotel is not great, looks like an appartment converted to hotel. The staff at the counter were rude and bland, not welcomming at all. we requested a room change, to which he was quite apprehensive. Rooms were clean and big, compared to standard European rooms, bath was clean but tiny. Breakfast was only coffee and bread, cereals and fruits. Not impressive at all for the price. I would recommend this hotel for the budget traceller who only has to sleep in the night, and does not expect much. Otherwire give this a skip. there are much better options near the Main railway station.
