my first experience at the hotel was better because the room was on the side of the yard. When the room is in front of the Yellow,it is very noisy at night outside in the street. Next time ,I'll avoid the street not to be awaken at night by noisy guys.Staff competence remains good

very good hotel, it is located close to termini station (both lines for metro ans train station for the train from the airport) and very close to another metro station, so it is comfortable to move around. walking distance to the opera and national museum. The stuff is nice and helpful. There is no breakfast included and this is the only minus.Very good deal.

The hotel was very convienient to the train station and easy to walk to. It was very nice to have fresh fruit in the room and the room was very well kept. This was an excellent stay over for those needing a night to stay before taking the train out in the early morning.

This is a clean hotel based in large building used by others . Its location is great for the termini station and you can walk to all the major sites . Rome is a busy city , I had read a couple of references to this part of the City being a little seedy but did not find that to be the case . Couple of nice restaurants close by .

First time on a holiday, and a female by herself, I felt very safe staying at this hotel (and Roma herself :)). The hotel was kept nice and clean; the room spacious; and the staff were friendly and approachable. Less than 10 mins walk away from the Termini train station (including the metro lines) which was fantastic for a tourist to hop on the metro and travel to the main attraction sites. Plenty of cafes and restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel and station. I would definitely consider staying here again during my next visit to Roma.

The Hotel Romae was reasonably priced and not a bad choice if you want more value and less luxury. It's in a safe-enough neighborhood of what seemed to be similar hotels, and in short walking distance from the Termini train station, which is why I chose it. The rooms are clean, the beds just fine (I stayed twice so got different rooms). The single room bathrooms are tight but doable, although the shower curtain was stained and the soap rack very rusty. The staff was generally really nice, with the exception of one morning clerk who had no interest in assisting, a clear difference from the evening clerk who took time to find locations and make recommendations for places I wanted to visit. All in all, not fancy but probably good for the money.

The hotel is beautifully clean and staff are very friendly and helpful. The only faults are: 1. The shower is tiny; 2. Our room was at the front of the hotel and there was considerable noise from the bar across the road late into the night.

Hotel is very, very clean. Front desk staff is friendly and welcoming, speak perfect English. Also very helpful! Only one comment: bathroom is very small. There would be plenty of room for petite guests, but since I'm rather overweight, maneuvering around the toilet and sink was a challenge. The bathroom is not for portly guests!

Enjoyed Hotel Romae. My wife and I had a great time in Rome and can't wait to return. Location was perfect to the train station and subway . Staff was great. Mae was awesome. Yellow Bar across the street was fun - but for younger crowd. Quiet at night and good restaurants nearby. Nice courtyard to sit in and enjoy a tea or glass of wine.

Great Choice! Very clean, beautiful linens. The private bathroom and the central lift are small but for the money I'm not complaining. There is a day room where you can borrow travel books, use the internet, grab coffee or tea. If it looks like rain they loan you an umbrella! Close to decent restaurants, the train station, metro and hop on hop off bus stops. Just a few blocks walk to all. (If you have large luggage Walk carefully in the street rather than on the cobbled sidewalks.) The "Yellow" a hostel across the street offers a really good and affordable breakfast.

Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff on reception desk. For breakfast we'd recommend the snack bar on the corner about 50 metres to the right on leaving the hotel. Good selection of food at good prices and much better than the Yellow Bar across the street.

Room was entirely adequate. Location to train station a big plus (easy 4 block walk). The rooms were furnished in a spare, IKEA-ish way. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. The furniture was a card table and folding chairs, so nothing fancy, but just fine for spending all day out exploring Rome and just using it to sleep and shower. Fresh fruit in the room was a nice touch!

Good location for a quick night's stay, near train station. The staff was super helpful and even reserved a taxi to airport for us. Room was very clean and comfy. If touring Rome by foot, it is a significant walk to major sites, but perfect if just a stopping point between train and airport. Nice restaurants right by hotel.

I stayed at the Romae twice during my 18 day trip to Italy and enjoyed my stay both times. It is conveniently located, clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced. It is not a fancy hotel, but is perfect for travelers like me - a great value in a safe neighborhood convenient to everything I want to see! My daughter and I stayed at the Romae for 4 nights and we had a great stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the location of the hotel is perfect - within walking distance of major sites, with some great restaurants right in the neighborhood. Our room was on the 4th floor (there is a lift) and very comfortable, although the bathroom was small in a funny way. It didn't impact our time, though, and we slept well. The air conditioning was a saving grace for a very hot month, and having wifi in our room was super convenient. I returned at the end of my trip and stayed in a room alone on the first floor - it was huge - and because i booked online directly to the hotel i had free access to the minibar! No wifi in this room- i had to go to the common area to access my email, but the room was affordable, clean, cool, quiet and comfortable. I was very happy. Eat at Mama Angela's right next door, or enjoy breakfast at the Yellow! The Romae is a great value for the price.

It's a fantastic hotel with nice rooms, good location (a little bit outside of major tourists places of interest but you still can reach them in 15 minutes by foot), surrounded by dozens of cosy restaurants with good prices and menus. Staff are very friendly - all these people definitely love what they are doing! I'd recommend this hotel to my friends!

The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was also marvelous, the good thing was that a glass box separated the bathroom and the toilet. When I entered the room I was delighted because they had given me a plate of fruits as a compliment of the Hotel. It wasn't too noisy, amazing view from the balcony. It was overall, a pleasant stay. The only thing was that it was slightly expensive but I guess it can't be helped since it's quite close to Roma Termini.

We stayed here both coming and going to Italy. It is a short walk from the main train station which has frequent express trains to and from the airport. It is a perfect place for a short stay in Rome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One of few places that offered us a room for four.

Fantastic stay, great bang for your buck. Three friends and I split a family room together, and wound up paying less than we would have at the hostel across the street. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the facilities are everything you could ever need, the hotel's rooms and public areas are nice, clean, and completely satisfactory. It is near the train station and metro, and also has a few good bars, restaurants, and ice cream stores nearby. I recommend this hotel to all travellers, be it alone, with friends, or with families, very highly.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights during July. The room was clean but quite small. The staff was wery helpful and skilled in english compared to other hotels wisited in Italy this summer. Only drawback was that we had to buy breakfast across the street, this added about 15€ to the room rate. In our opinion this hotel is a good bargain when visiting Rome. The hotel has a convenient location about 3 blocks away from the Termini station, and within walking distance from many major sights in Rome.

Staying at Hotel Romae was very comfortable and the location was great! Not only was the hotel a 2-minute walk to a metro station (and very close to the train station), but the hotel was also within walking distance of many of Rome's sights, for those who prefer to walk. We took the metro at the beginning of each day, and walked back to the hotel at the end of the day. We even walked back from the Vatican one day, which is on the the other side of town. We found Rome's sights to be in close proximity with each other, and it was a very walkable city. As for the hotel itself, we liked that it could to accommodate families with children - all five of us were able to share a room. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. There were a couple of restaurants on the street outside the hotel, so there was some street noise, but when the windows were closed in the hotel room, the room was nice and quiet (having the fan on for white noise also helped). The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Having a lounge area with free coffee and juice, plus internet service, was a nice ammenity. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and will recommend it to friends planning a trip to Rome.

The staff is really friendly! The location is perfect because is not too near or not too far from the terminal or from the center, good transport in metro lines. The fresh fruit in the room saved me from fainting after travelling for more than 12 hours. The room was nice, a little small, but nice. The coffee room is very welcoming and well decorated and kept. The internet access thru cable is of good quality, and the "groovy" area is, well, groovy :).

Chose the hotel based on proximity to Termini train station. Less than a 10 minute walk in a safe area. We only stayed 1 night as we were leaving Rome early the next morning. Room was large, clean, kids liked the bunk beds. Bathroom was very clean. Ate at the restaurant next door per the hotel's recommendation - enjoyed our dinner. This was my first stay here and what a discovery. It's now my official Rome lodging post. Clean, spacious (for europe) and yes, even "groovy." I had a bit of difficult with wireless, but don't know if it was them or me. Anyway, they gave me a cord and were willing to help with any question or problem. Neighborhood is cool, too. Near train station, which isn't a bad thing in Rome and a couple of blocks from University, not to mention easy access to the standard Rome sights.

The Hotel Romae offers good value for the price. The front desk staff was very nice and friendly. The bedrooms were fine. The bathrooms were small but OK. Good location near Termini station. Very good quality for the money: free fruit basket on arrival, free WLan with good performance, spacious room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. The only disadvantage is that the hotel does not offer breakfast in house. Breakfast is served in the Yellow bar just opposite. This is more an american style (backpacker) type of bar, but with very friendly staff and a young crowd. But there are many other, more traditional italian bars in the vicinity.

We chose the hotel based on three things: free wi-fi as well as location and price. Free wi-fi was only in the general room across from the elevator and it was terrible reception on personal equipment. Then the only computer available was dominated by a few guests. No time limits were set on your machine. We expected free wi-fi to be in our room. That was very distressful. Location was near everything we sought and hotel easy to get to from Termini Station. No television in grand room as listed. That was not important to us but it was still listed and not there.

I stayed in Romae hotel, while on a business trip, having my wife and child with me. We booked a three-person room. The room that was given to us on the third floor was quite spacious and had a comfortable arrangement of furniture. A second chair would be desirable. The room was in very good condition, our stay was very comfortable, street noise did not present a problem, the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Breakfast was not included in the room rate but opposite to the hotel there was a nice cafe-bar place that served adequate breakfast. Upon arrival we were given coupons for a free drink there. The location is good, only two blocks from the Metro station (Castro Pretorio). I recommend the hotel for the quality of stay. I would also rate it as the best price/quality deal I have had in Rome hotels so far.

The staff was very nice and the hotel was very clean, however; I was very disappointed, especially after reading so many good reviews. I was so cold I had to sleep in my clothes with a coat and two comforters. When I complained, I was told that the maintenance people do not turn the heat on until November (this was the end of October). The doorway to my room led directly to an outdoor patio, with no other door or insulation. I tried covering the gap with a towel, but it didn't help at all. Also,There is a hostel and a bar directly in front of the hotel, so it was very noisy. I could also hear the traffic noise most of the night. Not a good night for me at all. I wouldn't stay here again. I found a much nicer hotel, closer to the sights for only a few euros more.
