This is a great little hotel. The rooms are well appointed, very fresh and modern. It was lovely having a fridge to keep wine in and to have the water and fruit provided. A personal sky box in the rooom was an unexpected extra. Good wardrobe and drawer space too for a change as well as somewhere to hang outdoor clothes. The bathroom had decent sized towels - very unusual in a three star - and plenty of space to put toiletries for a change. Wifi and the ability to borrow a laptop was so useful. The hotel offers coffee all day and night and you can buy a bottle of wine at a very reasonable 8 euros if you can't be bothered to go to the supermarket just up the road! Apart from the Yellow Bar (where you eat breakfast) there are two perfectly good restaurants - next door and across the road. Which means you never have far to walk home. This was so much better than we had hoped for and we would really recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights in Hotel Romae. Compared to other places you find around Termini, this was great. Nice restaurant across the street (Mama Angeli), breakfast at the bar downstairs was good. About 5-10 minutes from the subway at Termini, you can be anywhere you want in Rome in less than half an hour. The stay was way above what we had expected.

It was my first time to stay in Romae. The room and people are nice over there. It also offer the hot water and tea in the public area. But, it didn't have their own breakfast area, so we need to eat in the yellow bar in front of it. The food was so so there.

The hotel has an annex where our room was located. The rooms were very good, well cleaned every day. The only negative I can think of is how well sonds travel through from the corridor. Not a big problem as there are only four rooms in each corridor. The hotel doesn't have a breakfast room, but you receive a voucher for a restaurant in the same house. There are several hotels that use the restaurant and most of the guests at the restaurant are young students and travellers. Most likely because there is a free internet hotspot there. The hotel receives a plus for providing a loaner laptop.

First time in Rome, hotel location ok, metro and buses serve well. Choice of restaurants in the neighbourhood. Noise isolation: doors inadequate, windows ok.

We stayed four nights at Romae in a double room on the lower level. Check in was very friendly and efficient, and we were given a kitchenette room that was spacious and clean with a comp fruit basket. The room was noisy, however, as it was located near the stairs and some of the guests checking out in the morning would drag their luggage down the stairs instead of using the lift. So we woke up to the clunk clunk clunk of suitcase wheels hitting each step all the way down. Come on people, use the lift or carry your bags! Ask for an upstairs room to avoid this-we had room 19. AC worked well, and both wired and WiFi broadband internet were provided in the room. Just a short walk to Termini Rail station, the subway, and the tour buses that depart from Piazza Indipendenza. Overall, a good value for Rome, but be aware of the noise potential in rooms 18 and 19.

late at night the rooms are extremely unquiet because of American tourists who don't understand that in Europe people sleep at night. The neighborhood is handy because it's next to the main railway station(termini). On the other hand less interesting in the historical center of Rome especially if you wanna go out in the evening (for pedestrians)

Hotel Romae is very convenient for the station. The air conditioning worked well - kept the room cool without blowing directly on the bed. The soundproofing was pretty good, noise from outside was heard only a couple of times. The arrangement with the bar across the street providing breakfast is good, providing flexibility to choose the food you prefer. The internet wifi was very useful, if a bit slow in the evenings.

As in the blurb on the hotel, it is an excellent location for handiness to the Termini train station and metro, and also to the Hop on Hop off bus, and the bus to get to Ciampano airport. The hotel itself was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was lovely as well although a bit little for larger people. The breakfast facility across the road was great, you get a 7 Euro tab and can pay the difference if you want extra.

As with other places in Italy, the air conditioner in the room was old and did not work well. This could have been a major issue in August.

This was the BEST hotel! Location: Excellent, 5 minute walk to Rome Termini train and subway station. Great for transportation and saves lots of time and money. Very close to laundomat and supermarket and pharmacy. Staff: Very friendy and helpful, and they spoke english relatively well. On our first night, we felt that the air conditioning wasn't cool enough in our room, and the staff immediately switched rooms for us, and even gave us a free upgrade! There is free internet and a free 24 hour snack bar supplied with self serve coffee and juice. And if that wasn't enough, they also give you a wlcome fruit basket upon check in. Breakfast is really good. They give you coupons to get free continetal breakfast at the bar across the street, and for just a euro, you can upgrade your breakfast to an omelette! Well worth the price! Rooms were clean, bathrooms well stocked, and air conditioning worked well. This is definetly a must stay if you vist Rome!

Rooms were very clean, provided with the facilities such as AC, refrigerator, hair dryer, satelite tv and free internet. The included breakfast at the Yellow Bar was the best part of the stay at the hotel. Staff was very freindly. The location was perfect. Colosseum is at the walking distance. And the biggest termini station is just 5 minutes walk away from the hotel. From there you can take train, buss, tram, taxi anything to anywhere. The only negative thing was that our toilet paper got finished after 3 days and nobody bothered to refill them. Otherwise it was a perfect hotel with perfect location. A great value for money. I highly reccomend the hotel

We let the staff know that it was our anniversary and they left a bottle of Prosecco and fresh fruit in the room, it was lovely. Construction was being done right outside of our room and one morning it began at 7a.m. The patio area was a nice spot to rest after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel is near the train station but far enough away to be on a quiet street.

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Romae. The staff was friendly and helpful both before and after our arrival. Our room was renovated and very clean. The room was a little cozy for a family of four - but not bad considering the price and location. We had one slight issue with the very modern new bathroom: the design of the bath/shower was such that the water from the shower leaked outside of the tub no matter what we did to prevent that. However, this was not a big deal. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located very strategically, on one hand there's the railway station, on the other the bus stops are nearby. The room was in the condominium next door which was not bad actually, it was like having our own apartment instead of hearing a hotel's usual noises and crowds. The breakfast was ok by my standards, room very clean but the air condition was not very "cool". i liked the hotel in general and would recommend others to stay here too.

We only stayed at Romae one night on a weekend trip to the Rome. We were very pleased with the location (~10 min walk from the train station) and the front desk service. They were very friendly, spoke excellent english and were able to show us where to purchase a Roma Pass. The room was nice and we were pleased with the size. However, the room A/C was not working which was disappointing as I had specifically searched for a hotel with A/C. Luckily the night we were there was not very warm and the hotel provided us with a large fan after attempting to fix the A/C. Also, we were very pleased when they offered us a 30% discount on our room when we checked out - we didn't even have to ask for one.

We had a lay-over in Rome so only one night. We enjoyed our stay, especially good was the availability of a taxi service to and from the airport set up by the hotel. This saved us much time and was no more expensive then the train. We arrived to the hotel early, checked in, and dropped our luggage behind the desk and went out to see Rome. We arrived back in the early evening to the hotel, dripping with sweat as the day was very hot, but the staff could not find our reservation despite that we already checked in. It took 20 minutes to get our room key. Given the heat, we were not happy about this. The Quad room is small but we were only there for one night and spent little time in the room (Only one day in Rome!)so it was fine. Neat and clean. The reatuarant next door was great for dinner - and the hotel provides a 10% discount - as was the breakfast across the street. The morning receptionist was great, she helped in many ways. One other downside was the internet connection that was very weak. I could not browse at all and I wanted to check some airline information.

Hotel was excellent for the price. All the staff was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and made you feel at home. Two recommendations to make: put larger waste baskets in the bathroom without lids as lid did not work on both separate occasions we stayed and you have to be touching it to open it. Another suggestion, have another computer. There are many people that want to get to the internet and one has to wait in line to use the computer. Other than that, the hotel was excellent.

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. Rooms were okay in size, however the quadruple room actually has 2 single beds and a convertible sofa for 2 persons instead of actual beds, okay for children but uncomfortable for 2 adults. Bathroom was clean, staff were excellent and quite helpful. Loved the free internet and included breakfast at the Yellow bar, with some of the friendliest staff (kudos to Christina, Ella and Sioning). The hotel map was accurate but we didn't expect it to be that far from the train station, it was about 5-10 minutes walk. Overall, would stay here again unless I can find a hotel closer to the train station.

(See below in English) La stanza era davvero pulita e profumava di sapone. In complesso, ci tornerei senza dubbio. The room was extremely clean with a scent of soap. It was looking over the inner courtyard, so it was very quiet (the road was pretty quiet anyway). The walls were a bit thin: we heard the alarm clock of the room next door. The beds were very comfortable; however, they had duvets on the beds! Sheets would have been more appropriate for the summer. The complimentary fruit basket is a nice touch. The bathroom was very small (my knees would touch the wall when sitting on the toilet). The microscopic elevator is not fit for claustrophobic guests. Breakfast, served in a bar nearby, was plenty. In conclusion, I would definitely go back there.

The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating, they made us feel very at home during all 3 ocassions we stayed there. The only recommendation we have is that the only waste basket which was in the bathroom needed to be larger and easier to open. You had to step on the button that makes it open but that did not work so we had to open it with our hands. The staff at the Yellow Bar where breakfast was served had 4 servers but only 1 knew what he was doing, the rest had no clue. We sat for 1 hour waiting for the waitress! Hotel Romae was great though

As travelers relying on public transportation, it was helpful that this hotel was located about 4 blocks from the main Termini station, and was also a few blocks from a Metro station (although the metro lines are limited in Rome). The front desk staff was terrific - especially Matt! Very helpful with any of our questions on directions or recommendations for getting around, sequencing of sites, etc. It was unusual to us that our room was located in a building across the street - but apparently that is rather normal in Rome. Fortunately Matt escorted us there so we could find it. The elevator to get to it was tiny -- but just big enough for us and our duffle bags. The room was comfortable and spacious and it was nice to have a furniture wall unit that conserved space and provided some storage space. We had difficulty with the plumbing -- the toilet wouldn't stop running, and on our first night, we could get only scalding hot water in the shower. But they promptly sent a repairman to take care of it - and the problems were solved to our satisfaction. Each day we were there, the housekeeping staff would miss something -- either emptying the garbage, leaving shampoo, or something. (Probably not so different than many other hotels anywhere in the world. They must have been too rushed.) They do leave a small basket of fruit in your room, which was convenient to take with us in our day packs. The breakfast they supply is a 7 Euro voucher at a restaurant on the street. It's worth it to pay the additional 1 Euro to get an omelette or something more to keep you going. Because there are a few restaurants down on the street, there will be some noise at night, but it was never too loud (shocker for Italy) nor did it go too terribly late that we lost sleep. There is at least one hostile in the area too -- so there are lots of single college type students to meet in the area.

Hotel Romae actually added to our Rome experience! My wife & I liked everything about this hotel: 1. Location - Centrally located, near the Termini station 2. Attached bathroom with 24-hour hot water 3. Free internet access in the Hotel lobby 4. Interior room decor - Very cosy rooms with ample shelf-space to spread your stuff around. 5. Staff - Very courteous, helpful staff. Well conversant in English. 6. Breakfast included in room price. 7. Discount vouchers available from Hotel for some restaurants in the same street as the hotel. 8. Money changing services - Very competitive rates vs. the Western Union services (Western Union runs an absolute thieving operation in the guise of money changing in Europe!). And for all this, the rate was simply FANTASTIC - great value for money! We infact came to Romae after paying a much higher place for a crappy "Bed-n-Breakfast" without any breakfast & without an attached bathroom. A definite recommend for anyone visiting Rome! :).

The staff were friendly and welcoming and hugely helpful. The recommended restaurant (with 10% off coupon given) was supherb. The breakfast in the restaurant across the street was delicious and substantial, more than just continental. We will return every time we're in Rome from now on and will recommend this hotel highly to anyone who asks. We also appreciated their airport limo pick-up service. The driver with our name on his sign was waiting when we arrived and courteously and efficiently loaded our luggage and drove us to the hotel. It was a wonderful service after an overnight flight from the US and the hotel made it easy to arrange. We didn't have to book a separate service and hope they could find the hotel.

Travelled during peak Easter season, hence higher price. However, our room was clean, neat and had everything we needed for a short stay. We did walk from the hotel all over the city, however some hotels are much closer to the touristic attractions. The hotel is extremely convenient for the airport connection (Termini train station is several minutes from the hotel). Overall - recommended.

That was my first trip to Italy and Hotel Romae was my first accomodatation in the country. I must say, its location is great close to the main train and bus stations. Hotel staff are helpful providing good services. Alice in the morning reception was very good providing advice to tourists. Get day pass (1 day, 3 days...) to tour around by public transport - it is very convenient. ah, the breakfast included was great - the best i had thru'out my entire trip - it was prepared upon order. Be sure to add 1 Euro to upgrade it to other sets. The room was clean and all are wi-fi connected (inclusive in the price). good for travelers who need to work oaccassionally. The bathroom are very clean with own ammenities. I'll come back for this.

Location is fine if you want to be close to the train station - directions on the hotel web site most helpful. There was a little TV area with free computer use, beverages and snacks. The room had a full compliment of soaps, shampoos, etc plus a mini bar and a basket of fruit complete with a paring knife. Nice touch.

Simple but nice and clean rooms, very quiet as it gave on an inner courtyard. Minimal common facilities (small lobby) but with free Internet access. Breakfast was in a cafe just opposite, very restricted choice and only one cup of coffee included (2Euro for an extra cup!). PErsonnal was friendly and talked English. Hotel lies in a quiet area close to Termini but not very central for visiting historic sites. A few restaurants close by. Altogether a good Price-quality relation especially at Venere's very discounted rate.

Saludos

Great hotel close to the centre of Rome. It's the only hotel I found which offered a room for 2 adults and 4 children. It worked out very well, and I highly recommend it. Less than 5 minutes walk to the metro, and in fact it's possible to see all the sights without using the metro at all. Also close to the main train station. Restaurants, banking, groceries and parking are all available nearby.

Never had such good experience given the price range. Definitely will come back. New, clean and big room. Got PC and wireless in public area. Depositing 5 dollars for lan cable to connect to the internet using own laptop for free! What else do you want in Rome?

Great place to stay. Very close to Termini Station which all airport buses and tour buses stop at. Very clean hotel with friendly staff. While not luxurious we had everything we needed. 4 of us stayed in 1 room and had no problem with size. I agree with other reviews that it is well worth paying the €1 extra for the a better breakfast. If going back to Rome will definitely stay here again.

The Romae's high-speed internet service is set up in a peculiar and non-standard fashion which makes it impossible for the connection to be shared between two laptop computers simultaneously, something my wife and I do all the time (via the Mac's built-in internet-sharing feature) in other hotels. We appreciated that the service was free, but we would have gladly paid for internet connectivity that we could easily use simultaneously. We are both internet professionals and we both needed to be online for a couple of hours every day during our visit. We semi-solved the problem by plugging one computer into the in-room LAN outlet and parking the other computer next to the window in order to grab WiFi from the Yellow Cafe across the street, but this was uncomfortable and a lot of trouble. In every other respect the Romae was great and we'd go back.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Romae. We would definitely come back the next time we visit Rome. Free internet was helpful, drinks in hotel bar were achievably priced. Staff was very helpful and kind, luggage could be left at the reception. Climate Control did not work, but was not needed during our stay, rooms are quiet as they could be (you don't really hear your neighbours), but the streets around were "loud" (especially as we are not used to city "noise"), especially alarm systems were annoying, getting off several times a day (but this holds for all hotels in the city area). Overall: Nice stay, small and very clean rooms ! Coupons for Breakfast were given (each worth "Continental Breakfast" 7 Euro (fruit, croissant, butter, jam, honey and a drink, instead of fruit you could also get bread/role), everything more has to paid individually, Service in the Yellow Bar was a bit "tricky", after we knew what was going on, no issue at all.

Overall a great place to stay but at all costs AVOID the "recommendation" that the employees will make: "Mama Angela". It's rubbish and obviously the hotel staff is paid to tell its guest to eat there (there's even a 10% voucher for that restaurant in every room). Even though the hotel's service itself was very good (free coffee, tea, Internet, ...) I rated it with 1 point for recommending one of the worst restaurants in town. You will also get a voucher for a free breakfast at the near "Yellow Bar" which is worth 7€ - you can still choose every other menu on the card and pay the difference, and I really recommend you to do that. For only 1€ more you get a menu that's twice as much and tastes way better. Verdict: for sure one of the best hotels in this category, you would have to pay much more to get a better hotel - which you probably won't need if you are on-tour the whole day and just want a clean and comfortable place to sleep.

This hotel is definitely not right around the corner from the train station. (as the description suggests) It is at least 8 to 10 blocks from the train station. I would not recommend the walk for someone who is disabled or who has a lot of luggage. The hotel is a good option for the budget-conscious traveler. The rooms have all of the basic amenities and is in a good general location in Rome. For college students or families who don't mind being a bit cramped, up to 4 can fit in the triple room. There is not a lot of extra storage space and the bathrooms are small but adequate. This is definitely a no frills option if you want to stay close to the train station in the center of Rome. Also the bar across the street, The Yellow Bar has a great vibe and friendly staff.

Great location, close to train & metro station. Wonderful staff, had reception area with juice, tea, coffee all the time. Able to use the computer for free. Our room was on street side, so a bit noisy at night (bar across the street). Breakfast was great, paid 1 Euro more and had huge breakfast. Have recommended to friends traveling to Rome.

Five of us stayed in Hotel Romae at the end of March 2009. I got the impression that there were not many other guests in the hotel at the time which was fine with us! We managed to get rooms on the fourth floor which I understand has been upgraded recently so I cannot comment on the other rooms. Our room were slightly on the small side but very well laid out and clean. Hotel staff were very helpful. Location was excellent. The tube stop was only a few minutes from the hotel. Breakfast was served in the bar opposite the hotel and was generally of a decent standard. I would most definately recommend Romae hotel, eps the rooms on the fourth floor.

Perfect, except for noise! 2 sources: the lift which was background noise, so not really a problem. But can anything be done about insulating rooms from noisy neighbours? We couldn't hear them in their rooms, BUT the noise they created getting to/going from their rooms WAS loud!! I know hallways aren't carpeted, but could doors be made more soundproof? Apart from that, it was really good value for money, spotlessly clean, great location, fantastic staff - and if only people had been mindful of the noise they generated in corridors, it would have been perfect as a reasonably priced place to stay. I would recommend it to friends (along with earplugs).

My friend and I (grandmas on the loose!) chose the Hotel Romae for our last night in Italy because it was close to the Termini station and had received good ratings. We were very pleased with the room which was large, clean, and attractive. True, there was some noise due to the hotel's proximity to a club and to a restaurant, but the hotel itself was quiet, provided internet access, and had a charming garden/atrium. Staff members were courteous and friendly. I would definitely stay at the Romae again.

Excellent location , near Metro and Termini. Very good restauarant exactly opposite hotel (but not open on a Saturday evening). Room was spacious and of high standard. My room overlooked the street and was a bit noisy late at night because of outside tables at a nearby bar - but I would happily stay there again.

We would normally have stayed in a much higher spec of hotel i.e. 4 or 5 star but as money is tight for everyone we were drawn to the Romae by the other excellent reviews they had. For the room rate we paid the room was excellent and we were pleasantly suprised by its quality. The only downside for us was that there were no facilities with the hotel i.e. bar or restaurant but who needs those when you are in Rome, there were a number of good restauramts close by and there was the ever popular (with students and backpackers) yellow bar across the road. Only one small criticism not against the hotel but more against our fellow guests at the time - they were very noisy coming in at all times of the night and unfortunately the sound carried! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Romae its location was ideal for access to the sights and we had a very enjoyable stay - Thank you

Hotel Romae was alright overall, but it's a little hard to get to; 2 subway stops from Roma Termini, then a 4 block walk. Room was quite cold. We booked a triple room, but still got charged $25/night extra for our 3 year old. Breakfast is in an English pub across the street, tasty and pretty good value, great coffee! Noisy, dirty neighborhood, but that's Rome.

The stay over all was pleasant enough. The room itself was newly renovated, it was small but adequent. It's 10 minutes walk to Roma Termini, 2 minutes from the nearest metro station, so location is great. they also provide a computer for accessing the internet, which is very useful.

I booked the hotel after long search on internet sites and I find venere.com better place. We are quite satisfied with the hotel. Our family room was in the building opposite to the main hotel building, but there are no issues. Rooms are clean and have closet, minibar and small tv with SKY connection. The shower with bath tub is good. Yellow bar breakfast and upgradation of breakfast with 1 or 2 euros works well. The staff is polite and welcoming, proximity to Termini station and Castro Pretorio metro station is great advantage. The hotel and the yellow bar provide free maps which are vey useful to plan your day. The downside could be that the room is bit small and internet did not work (No Wi-Fi in this building opposite to main building and even LAN cable did not work..) Overall we find this hotel a good value for money and would certainly recommend for 2-3 days stay.
