We booked 1 night before our stay. The exterior of the hotel did not look impressive but we were pleasantly surprised when we saw our room(no. 14). Very nice green big toilet! No breakfast was provided BUT free flow hot/cold water, coffee, tea and juice in the lobby! They gave free fruits in the room and provided a bottle opener too!Only set back was our room could not receive wi-fi but they had a computer for all to use and free printing of boarding passes. Very good value for what we paid!

Enjoyed the stay in Romae, staff were very nice and very helpful with any questions and requests made. Location is grear if u just got off at termini and its your first time in rome. Pub across the road , a little noisy on saturday night but was fine every other night. Would reccommend romae, complementary tea, coffee and internet was nice. Also wasnt flying out till evening and staff very kindly held on to my baggage till i was leaving that evening. 4 out of 5 stars for me. :D

Superb location - we walked everywhere. Room was great although bathroom was a little small. Restaurants in the area were high quality and the breakfast arrangement with the cafe across the road was great. This was our second time at the Romae and would stay again.

Great hotel and very helpful staff. The hotel is close to Roma Termini train station, and there is a very nice bar right across the street, as well as several pizzerias & ristorantes. Nice prices too. If I ever need a hotel in Rome, this will be the first I'll look to.

Definitely a nice place to stay for a short visit. Not very pricy, though as a student myself, sometimes I would prefer hostel to hotel because of the price difference. Staff speak excellent English and provide useful help. The common room is a lovely space for leisure and provides free juices and coffee. Wifi access is good in our room and I suppose it is the same for every other room. Overall, quite a pleasant stay in Rome this time

We chose the hotel based on three things: free wi-fi as well as location and price. Free wi-fi was only in the general room across from the elevator and it was terrible reception on personal equipment. Then the only computer available was dominated by a few guests. No time limits were set on your machine. We expected free wi-fi to be in our room. That was very distressful. Location was near everything we sought and hotel easy to get to from Termini Station. No television in grand room as listed. That was not important to us but it was still listed and not there.

I stayed in Romae hotel, while on a business trip, having my wife and child with me. We booked a three-person room. The room that was given to us on the third floor was quite spacious and had a comfortable arrangement of furniture. A second chair would be desirable. The room was in very good condition, our stay was very comfortable, street noise did not present a problem, the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Breakfast was not included in the room rate but opposite to the hotel there was a nice cafe-bar place that served adequate breakfast. Upon arrival we were given coupons for a free drink there. The location is good, only two blocks from the Metro station (Castro Pretorio). I recommend the hotel for the quality of stay. I would also rate it as the best price/quality deal I have had in Rome hotels so far.

The staff was very nice and the hotel was very clean, however; I was very disappointed, especially after reading so many good reviews. I was so cold I had to sleep in my clothes with a coat and two comforters. When I complained, I was told that the maintenance people do not turn the heat on until November (this was the end of October). The doorway to my room led directly to an outdoor patio, with no other door or insulation. I tried covering the gap with a towel, but it didn't help at all. Also,There is a hostel and a bar directly in front of the hotel, so it was very noisy. I could also hear the traffic noise most of the night. Not a good night for me at all. I wouldn't stay here again. I found a much nicer hotel, closer to the sights for only a few euros more.

A top of the line 3 star hotel no doubt. Clean, functional, excellent location and quiet enough. The minuses are in the size of the room, pretty small although functional thanks to beautiful and very functional furniture, and the bathroom: Clean, quality appliances, but smaller than required. Showering is a "tight" operation, however, the best hotel for the money I encountered in 2 months in Europe.

I had a spacious and clean room. The hotel is well located , next to the termini. However my room was close to a bar on the street, and it was noisy at night, until 1-2am. The music was not too noisy, so i could sleep, but for sensitive people or shallow sleeper this can be an issue. Overall i will recommend this hotel as a base to discover Rome for the location, the cleaninness and the staff kindness.

We had a great stay at the Romae! The location was perfect: no rental car was needed, we simply walked from the Termini train station to the hotel. We also walked to Metro (subway) terminals, which were very close. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and there were plenty of places within walking distance for shopping and eating. The staff was pleasant and very helpful with answering our questions and dispensing advice. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely stay there again!

Great staff. Odd noisy (generator?) noise in a few rooms, was handled by moving us to another room. Wi-fi access very slow, didn't work on I-phone (but loaned I-pad was o.k). loud bar & restaurant across street, but good windows blocked sound when closed. good metro & bus access.

Simple but nice hotel. Two big pluses: it's really not far away from Termini central station, which offers good bus connection with both airports. There is a free access to the internet. It's a bit far from sightseeing places but the bus and metro stations compensate it. The staff was very kind and helpful. One negative thing is that there is no breakfast in the hotel. The room was clean.

We were greeted and welcomed by one of the hotel staff members and he wished us a happy anniversary. I had forgotten that I mentioned this on the website when booking. When we went into our super clean room, they had a complimentary bottle of champagne and 2 glasses waiting for us for our anniversary. They also recommended a restaurant nearby and gave us vouchers for a free drink there. We definitely would stay at Hotel Romae again.

The hotel met our needs. The room was a bit small for our family of four, but clean. The front desk staff was competent, friendly and spoke fluent English. The hotel lounge have a computer with free internet access for the hotel guests. The front desk staff set us up with a taxi to the airport with a reliable taxi operator who apparently lives in the building. BTW, we also appreciated complementary welcome drinks for each member of my family on our arrival at the bar across the street (which is run by the property owner).

Got the smallest room available, which was really cramped. After complaining was upgraded to a larger room, which at least was large enough for two people to survive in. Happy with the service, but the rooms were substandard compared to price. We paid EUR 105/night. Checked hotel next door, The Continental, which offered a larger and nicer room for EUR 80. Nice, but small bathroom in Romae. The white furniture that you will find in at least two of the rooms has to be the ugliest pieces of furniture I have ever seen in a hotel room. Both rooms had a plastic garden chair for the only seating. (tacky!!!) All in all, not good value for money, but service and bathrooms were good.

Good location close to termini and close to major attractions (we walked almost everywhere). Very very friendly and helpful staff, fluent in English, welcoming. Room was a bit small for 5 of us (three teenagers) but not unexpected for a European Hotel. Breakfast included a plus (we did upgrade most days to a healthier option, but only cost 1 euro each so a good deal). Included internet helpful. Location meant some street noise until about 10 PM and again starting at about 5 AM (deliveries) night but hardly noticable with windows closed and did not disturb our sleep. A really good value for the money.

This hotel was excellent value for the price. It's located on the northwest side of Termini station, an easy walk to the station even with a reasonable amount of luggage. There is a metro station (Castro Pretorio) even nearer, and several buses on Via XX Settembre. The neighborhood is not really within walking distance of tourist sites, but is pleasant enough, with a mix of hotels, embassies, shops, and private residences. The hotel is in a building with several other hotels. There is an elevator, but you have to go up a few steps to get to it (and to the lobby). Our double room (number 20) was comfortable, with a small kitchenette, which we weren't expecting the kitchenette; our friends' double room had only a fridge. The bathroom was fine, although it didn't have a bidet. There are triple and quad rooms as well as doubles. The rooms have free wifi, cabled high-speed internet and SKY TV. Our room was at a little distance from the others, and the wifi didn't reach it. I had a USB modem, so I didn't need it. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and pleasant, and spoke both Italian and English. There was a bowl of fresh fruit waiting for us, and we were given coupons for free cocktails at the bar across the street. Breakfast was not included in the price, but tea, instant coffee, and juice were available all day long in the lobby; in the morning there were packaged pastries as well. All in all, I can't think of anything negative to say about this hotel. Some might prefer a more historic or central location, but for simple comfort, the Romae is ideal.

The hotel itself is at a very convinient location, near Castro Pretorio station on metro line B and also within walking distance to Roma Termini Station in less than a quarter. There is a supermarket called Sigma and a pharmacy near crossroads, making buying water and some snacks extremely easy. It can be a bit noisy at night as some rooms are right in front of the Yellow Bar(where people sit outside to eat and drink and talk very loudly). The room where I stayed couldn't connect to the wifi hotel romae provided instead the staff kept telling me it is likely for me either to connect to the wifi of Y-bar or hotel romae, which was impossible. However at last she provided me with a cable line with which I can sit by the portal and connect to internet. The showered broke down 2 nights after our stay and we forgot to report it. But once after my complaint she promised to have it fixed by the next morning. And much to my dismay when I came back to the room the same night it was still broken, making showering a very painful experience as water mostly leaked from the tube instead of its head. Besudes the staff problem the rest is quite well. Oh and from now on if you stay in hotel rating over, and include 3 stars you have to pay a city tax of 2 euros per person per night. It was quite a bother when I noticed that. After all I wouldn't think it is worth 3 stars.

Termini neighborhood's never great, and right across from obnoxious Yellow Hostel, but hotel was a great deal -- nice towels, clean big comfortable bed, shampoo, soap & usual actual hotel amenities (unlike many Termini-area "hotels"), but property-wide wifi didn't reach room, and ethernet plug-in internet didn't work either. To access wifi had to sit in wind-tunnel jet-engine room (LOUD) lobby on uncomfortable couch... was acceptably fast, but not ideal for skype and privacy. For price, though, very nice place (it was a venere.com special offer).

This hotel is very well located, within easy walking distance of the train station. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. Given the standard of the accommodation, I think it represents very good value for money - at least in the off-season, which was when I stayed there - and I would recommend it. My only qualifying comments would be that street noise might be an issue in high season, it was just a touch noisy one evening and this was in the middle of winter - and for some reason the duvet on my bed was quite short, it wasn't a particular problem for me but anyone who was closer to 6 feet might have - cold feet.

The Hotel was very close to the Metro, actually very reachable to either Termini or the one just beyond it. I had heard about the Termini station being very dangerious so we avoided it. the morning we traveled to Civitecchia we walked to Termini, the morning crowd wasn't threatening at all. The staff spoke wonderful English, I believe one of the members was British? The annex was spacious, well much larger than other rooms we had in Paris. Coupons for drinks and breakfast across the street were a nice bonus. the beds were a little hard for my taste. All in all we had a very enjoyable time and would very much like to stay there again.

This was the first time my husband and I had stayed in this hotel and the reception we received and additional assistance was excellent. The hotel was handy to Roma Termini and to get on the sight seeing buses around Rome if you want to see Rome in a short time. I would gladly stay here again.

The Hotel and staff were great. We stayed four nights. Everything about the hotel was great and added to our wonderful stay in Rome. We would stay there again and would give a high recommendation to anyone booking this hotel.

Travelled with the family. Closeness to Termini central train station was very important, good value for money.

Good hotel, room is clean and suffisant. Warning : think to reserved behind not on the road because much bars and restaurants are here. Bon rapport qualité prix, les chambres sont correctes et propres. Seul hic, les nombreux bars et restaurants dans la rue de l'hotel générant beaucoup de bruit. Pensez à demander une chambre sur l'arrière.

Excellent location close to large train station. Lovely to get free fresh fruit in the room. It was great to have a fridge in the room which doesn't seem to be the standard in most hotels in Italy. Excellent English and Italian speaking extremely helpful staff. Breakfast was great, we "upgraded" our breakfast from continental to full English for about 2euro extra. Only negatives are bathrooms are tiny and there are steps before you get to reception which was fine for us but may not suit all.

Hotel Romae clearly has done a lot to make itself appealing to speakers of English (or at least of American) travelling to Rome. All staff spoke perfect English and were fairly helpful when called upon for information. However, breakfast is served in the bar across the street, and though the breakfast itself is perfectly adequate, the staff there leave much to be desired. The service was slow, and several of the waitresses were happy to ignore their patrons entirely. This is unfortunate as the staff in the main reception were generally very competent. Wifi is not available in the rooms at all, however there is a decent public sitting room which has one computer to share amongst all the guests (which meant that there was a bit of queueing involved). If you have your own computer or ipod, wifi is also accessible from the breakfast bar. The room was generally clean and small touches such as a free fruit basked were much appreciated by us. The location is not particularly close to any major sites in Rome, and requires at least 45 minutes by foot to reach the historical centre. There is a nearby metro station, but be aware of anyone who is simply waiting to "help" you alongside a ticket machine - these people are gypsies who will do their best to take any spare coins whilst confusing you. The area around the hotel is also not particularly pleasant at night, and we advise that you travel away from the area if you're looking for good restaurants. In all, Romae was an adequate hotel with some good services, but its main draw back is its location. CC+TV

Excellent price / quality / location. The place is very conveniently located, I would certainly recommend it. Not the best romantic place though, but very practical, clean and welcoming. Watch out if you come by car, parking in Rome is a nightmare : parking lots are badly signalled, even finding the entrance of the Termini Station Car Park was an adventure...

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Romae. The room was spacious by European standards and the bed was comfortable. We were not supposed to have wireless internet access in our room, but somehow we did (we were right above the common area). The only difficult part of our stay was that the lift was not on the main floor - we still had to haul our luggage up a flight of stairs to get to the lift. Breakfast was great - much better than many of the other places we stayed and we enjoyed happy hour at the Yellow Bar. The location was not too far from Termini station and convienent to the Metro stops and the area felt safe and had a few reasonably priced restaurants nearby.

Only negative point : the breakfasts! The employees of the Yellow Bar are antipathic, and the "continental breakfast" is awful!

This is a fun hotel (okay, it's groovy, as advertised). Our rooms were big, clean and wonderfully cool. There was even fresh fruit waiting for us. After some of the other disappointments we had through venere.com, we were very pleasantly surprised by this one. We booked two rooms, since there were 5 of us, and the rooms were the only ones on a locked hallway. This meant that we could keep our doors open into the hallway, but still have an outer door locked. It was like having our own suite. It was perfect for our family. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and if you need two rooms ask for these.

Good communication via emails before trip. The staff are friendly. The hotel room is more spacious than other hotels we stayed in Italy (the ceiling is high so it helps not feeling like being in a closet). Breakfasts are adequate. We had to leave early on departure day, so we told the hotel staff ahead of time and they prepared a take-away breakfast for us. The hotel is near Termini station, but it doesn't help much with the sighseeings as things are so scattered in Rome. We use bus, metro and walk a lot. Overall, we will stay at this hotel again.
