Fabulous location! The only hotel actually within the walls of the Vatican. The view from the terrace overlooks the dome of the Basilica and the Popes residence. The staff was fabulous. If you are in Rome for pilgrimage this is the place to stay.

Great location, wonderful view, friendly and helpful staff, molto gentile. Had to park my scooter in a different neighborhood as parking is nonexistent, but a short stroll across Piazza San Pietro to get it made it all worthwhile.

The location of the hotel is excellent, across the street from St. Peter's Basilica. The room was clean and quiet, but on the smaller size. The elevator was useful as the hotel was located on the third floor of the building. The breakfast buffet had a variety of different foods and was tasty. The fourth floor outdoor patio was very pleasant and was well utilized on the warm summer evenings.

Wonderful location! We stayed during Holy Week, it was warm enough we needed to open the windows which is why we heard street noise. If you are there when heat or AC is used the windows are great at blocking noise. Staff was GREAT! Small rooms, small bathroom, but then it is Rome and this used to be a Monastary. Perfect location with Vatican across the street and Metro 10 min. walk!! This trip was mainly for our 16 yr. old daughter.... she loved this place.

This was the first time in Rome to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary so the first time in any hotel, we could not have choosen a better hotel to stay than the Residenza Paolo V1 it was everything we had been dreaming of to make our anniversary special, One can read descriptions and see pictures via the internet but there is always the risk that it may not turn out the way it is portrayed, not so with Residenza you got more. The staff were so helpful we felt and were treated so specially, we had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant cooked and served to perfection and for the quality of the fine dining experience it was cheaper than the restaurants offering just pizzas and pasta!.All this of course was rounded off by the wonderful Mass celebrated by The Pope on Palm Sunday in St.Peter's Square which we attended. The only reason I have given 9 for quietness is because our room overlooked St.Peter's Square (as it said in the advert 14 steps away)and by 7 a.m. people were already gathering for The Mass. My husband is 70 years old and I am 67 years old we care for our 45 years old daughter 24/7 she has Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy we haven't been away together for 16 years, this break took a lot of planning but it was all made worthwhile due to the wonderful Hotel Residenza Paolo V1 and the staff. We hopefully will be able to go again and if we are fortunate enough to do so that is the only place we will stay, I think you could say we've been a little spoiled. It was so near to everything. My husband hasn't come down off cloud nine yet. Thankyou also to your company for having this hotel on your books,

Absolutely great location! Woke up at 1AM and walked across the street to St. Peter's and took pictures. Room was clean, A/C, great view, great breakfast, amazing staff. Filamina (spelling?) was very accomedating and helped with our millions of questions. We will definitely book it again and recommend it to friends. Great find!

Great location across the road from St Peter's Square. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms are small but extremely clean and well cared for. Easy walk down to the river's edge for dancing and drinks by the Castel St Angelo.

This is a clean and well maintainened hotel in the most desirable part of the city, the rooms are very small due to it previously being a monestry but the location is perfect and I would recommend it as an ideal base for sightseeing.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is perfectly located for visiting The Vatican and is adjacent to a handy bus route for getting to the other main sights, and to the main rail station. Great views over St. Peter's Square and close to some nice restaurants, which the staff recommended. The staff were great and very willing to give any help or advice that was asked for.

Service and staff excellent, one small problem resolved immediately with no fuss. Rooms are on the small side, but it's very quiet, a boon in Rome. Plus no smoking clearly means no smoking. Staff able to suggest restaurants, routes, times, etc. If you are thinking of going to the Sistine Chapel etc, do book first online, it;s still chaos, but the queues are somewhat less. Best route to the hotel from the main station is the 64 bus, first stop after it goes through the tunnel.

My husband and I went to Italy for our honeymoon in early October 2008. We arrived in Rome at the airport, took the express train to the train station, and the metro to the closest station that the hotel recommended. We walked maybe 1/2 mile to the Piazza San Pietro at the base of the Basilica. We took some pictures and continued trying to find our hotel...we crossed the street and couldn't believe it! There it was, across the street from St. Peter's Basilica! The woman at the desk was very nice and chipper. Our room had a lovely view of the courtyard. Breakfast was served upstairs every morning (we stayed 3 nights) buffet style with plenty of selection. The wait-staff was very gracious. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone. There were older couples and families with children that we saw at breakfast each morning.

Stephanie and Anna at the front desk were helpful and nice. The man that was working, however, was rude and provided no assistance. Staff in breakfast area were great, even knew which drinks we prefered and had them to us as we walked in.

The room was rather small - there was not even sufficient space for a small desk. But it is situated in a superb location; the breakfast room and breakfast were excellent; and the view from the terrace is worth the money alone

What a location! You are literally across the road from St Peters making the view from the terrace absolutely heavenly! The hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building with easy lift access and very secure. The rooms are beautifully fitted out, the breakfast enjoyable and the staff very helpful. We had been to Rome before and wanted a memorable accommodation experience before we flew home. Residenza Paolo V1 provided just that. We would highly recommend the hotel.

We came to Rome on pilgrimage, so Residenza Paolo VI was the perfect place to stay. By staying here there was no discontinuity between the marvelous religious expereinces we had in the Vatican and returning to our beautiful hotel, with friendly, competent staff,a crucifix in our room, and the daily Bible readings placed under our door each morning. From prayer to prayer - thank you!!

Hotel Residenza Paola VI is a beautiful hotel and was well situated for my elderly mother. In fact this was her 80th birthday present. Only one fact however marred the visit. On arrival to the hotel-at 9.00pm, we were informed by the receptionist that due to a mix up at the booking office, the single room booked was unavailable and my mother would have to spend the night at the nearby Cardinal Cesi hotel for the first night of our stay. This is a very nice hotel too, but we were very disappointed that a room we had booked 10 weeks prior to our arrival was not available and that no effort was made to inform us of this before arrival late on the Friday evening. The hotel did arrange taxi transference, and gave us food by way of apology, and were more than gracious the whole weekend. However I still fail to understand why this situation arose as we had booked well in advance!

We loved the Residenza Paolo. It was beautiful but watch out for pickpockets in Rome! Our stay at this hotel was superb. The staff was so friendly and kind especially when we were upset over having been pickpocketed. The location is the best if you want to stay near the Vatican. The columns of St. Peter's Square are outside the front courtyard! Beautiful experience staying here.

In my opinion, level of comfort, cleanliness and service was very good. The location at the Vatican was outstanding and the hotel was very quiet (no traffic noise). The room was a little smaller than I expected but had everything we needed. Breakfast and service were very good and there were no hidden extras on the bill. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace overlooking the Basilica.
