Staff was very helpful - made our trip to Rome much better with helpful suggestions and excellent service. Location was fabulous, as we could take the subway everywhere. You still enough to see and do, and so do yourself a favor and get a hotel near the subway.

Great service with a mixture of clientele noticed there were no children. Only four stops via metro to termini and metro was literally at the bottom of the street. A bit further to Rome centre but easily accessible via metro. Our room was very clean and spacious with a huge balcony and rooms were serviced daily. Continental breakfast was very good and varied, free internet access available. The only complaint we had was noise from other guests in the room above and adjacent on the last 3 nights of our 7 nights stay. This was not the fault of the hotel but rather the fault of other inconsiderate guests. I could not fault the the service or the pleasantness of the staff and would certainly return again if the opportunity arises.

There is only one word that can be used to describe the Hotel Ri De Roma - Outstanding! The hotel is located in the mainly residential area of San Giovanni and it is only a twenty minute stroll to get to the colloseum. There is a metro station a minute or two away from the hotel, but I did not use this once as I prefer to soak up the atmosphere above ground. My hotel room was of a good size with a small double bed and a well equipped bathroom. It also had an outside terrace and even though I travelled in February the weather was so good I managed to make use of it. The choice at breakfast was very good with yoghurts, fresh fruit, meat, cheese, bread and croissants. What really makes this hotel special are the staff, the service offered by everyone was out of this world. The reception staff spoke excellent English and they were always on hand to help. If you plan a trip to Rome, you should definitely stay at the Hotel Ri De Roma, as I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Just back from holdiays in Italy, which included 2 nights in Rome. I booked the Hotel Re di Roma as I already knew the area very well. Quite and close (only 5 metro stops) to the city center. Ideal location!!!! We can only praise the hotel, as everything went perfectly well. Great staff, from the reception to the girl in the kitchen. My partner missed the breakfast the first morning as he wasn't feeling well (not used to the italian heat!!!), so I asked for a mug of hot water for a tea( breakfast was well over by that time) and the girl in the kitchen couldn't do enough for me, she wanted me to take a full breakfast to bring up to our room... Doens't happen that often!!! For our second evening, we were recommended a restaurant only 2 min walking distance from the hotel. It's more a restaurant for locals (always better that the one for tourists !!) and we had a lovely pizza and we would recommend this restaurant aswell (called L'Aquila d'Abbruzzo). For anyone looking for a great place to stay in Rome (away from the noise and the high price!), do not hesitate, and book Hotel Re di Roma.

We had an excellent stay at Re di Roma. Close to Metro and train station. Nicely appointed room on 2nd floor. Excellent breakfast, something for everyone. If I have to mention one negative thing it would be the coffee. It was awful but there are plenty of "bars" close to the hotel to have an excellent espresso at. I would definetely recommend this hotel.

I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller who cares not to spend a huge amount of money, but wants to have a pleasant and comfortable staying in Rome. I think the price/quality relationship is excellent. The hotel is well situated in a quite neighborhood right next to the metro . The rooms are really clean with good facilities. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Plus, they speak foreign languages (English, French, Spanish for sure), something not very common in Italy :) On the other side, I didn't like the fact that there wasn't any real coffee in breakfast - only an automate machine and the fact that you could hear some noise when other tenants went in or out of their rooms. However, these issues were of minor importance. In general, I really enjoyed my staying in this hotel and I would definitely choose it again.

Re di Roma was a property we booked at the last minute, because our stop in Milan fell through. Under the circumstances, it wouldn't have surprised me to have it fall short of expectations, since I hadn't had a great deal of time to research. In fact, Re di Roma turned out to be the best hotel of our stay. The room was exactly as advertised, the neighborhood was bustling and welcoming, the breakfast buffet was outstanding, and the hotel staff was extremely helpful. Even the city map they provided was the best one we had to work with all week, and we used it even when we were staying in another hotel. I would recommend Re di Roma to anyone I knew who was going to Rome.

The room was nice, small but nice. I strongly recommend that you have at least a vague idea of the tram system before you choose this hotel. There is a tram about 100 meters from the hotel and it will get you close to anywhere you want to go to in Rome, but the hotel itself is just on the outskirts of Rome. For the hotel price compared to a hotel closer it is well worth it if you use the tram. If the tram scares you or you can’t figure out how it works your stay maybe expensive to take a cab or you may have a long walk in front of you.

The hotel was lovely. The reception staff were very welcoming and really keen to answer questions about Rome. Although the hotel and staff were very nice, just be aware that it is located in a pretty residential area with not many restaurants around for dinner. Probably best to get dinner in town then make your way back home. In saying this, the walk into town is about 30-45min and the train is very efficient.

This Hotel was excellent. It was clean, modern and in a safe area. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle for peace and quiet yet convenient by subway or walking to all the major attractions. Great Hotel. Great location, close to a Metro which gets you to Termini and then all of the buses. My only comment is that I was very disappointed in having to use an automated coffee machine at breakfast, instead of having a real coffee..especially in Italy - what is up with that? To make it worse, i think it had to be the worst coffee ever. Otherwise, though, great Hotel. There is a cafe across the road who make great espresso's.

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in on our 2 week visit to Italy, though it wasn't the most expensive! The staff was extremely helpful and courteous, they offered free wireless internet, and they had a BATHTUB! Definitely would stay here again! It is a bit of a walk to all the sites (thye're not that close to each other in Rome), but the hotel's by a metro station. You can get anywhere in the city in a few minutes. Try the desserts at the Pompi--ask for directions at the desk. They are unbelievable!

The hotel is very contemporary in design, and very clean. The rooms are somewhat small, but typical of European hotels. The bathrooms are oddly laid out with no shower curtain, and the bidet takes up unnecessary room. The staff is outstanding, friendly, and very helpful. They even provided free rain ponchos the day it rained.

The Hotel Re di Roma exceeded our expectations. We knew, from reading previous reviews, that the room would be small and the location not ideal for tourist destinations like the Coloseum and the Vatican. It is, however, a very easy one block walk to the Metro entrance, which made getting around town very easy. The front desk was also very helpful in giving us directions to where we needed to go, on either the buses or the Metro. We arrived well before check-in time expecting only to be able to store our bags while we began touring the city. Instead, they rushed to get our room cleaned and ready for us in about 20 minutes time. While we were waiting, they served us american style coffee and snacks in the lounge. While the room was small by US standards, it was very clean and contained all the amenities we needed (shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, etc.) plus some unexpected ones like the disposable slippers wear in the morning. We felt that it was a good bargain, and would return and recommend it to others.

The best value for money hotel you can get in Rome. We liked very much the modern design of the hotel and its rooms. The hotel is located 300 meters from line A of the subway which can take you within 20 minutes max. to city center and attractions. 7 minutes walking distance from train station which can take you to Fiumicino Airport. The staff is very welcoming and was willing to assist with any question raised. We highly recommend this hotel. Oded & Irit, Tel-Aviv, Israel

My wife and I stayed 6 nights and had a wonderful time. Looking at previous reviews a few comments: Yes, it's not in a touristy area and you have to walk a ways or else metro to see standard Rome attractions. But local restaurants are more traditional and tasty in their fare and the walk to the coliseum provides a great cross-section of the city. The gelato in the nearby piazza (where the metro stop is) is as good as anywhere we had in Rome, so save that for an end-of-day treat. Staff at hotel is extremely helpful. Good, robust breakfast. Only complaint: last day there they had installed an automatic coffee machine in the breakfast area that dispenses cappuccino and about 6 other kinds of coffee (and not very good, at that). One of the reasons many Americans go on vacation is to get away from that kind of thing, which I associate with gas stations in the USA. Please bring back the regular coffee and cappuccino!

my only critism is I would have liked some drawers in the bedroom. Beware of taking taxis from the airport. The fare is 40 euros, but the driver said the fare was by the meter. When we arrived at the hotel he then turned the meter on and it read 49 euros. I gave him a 50 euro note and as we got out he changed the note for a 10 euro note and said I had only given him 10 euros!!

We liked the safe neighborhood feeling of Ri de Roma area, variety of restaurants, and close proximity to the metro red line (4th stop from Termini). The breakfast is basic and depending on the specific room they can be very noisy. If you arrive early and want access to the first room possible, the luck of the draw determines the size and quietness of the room. Even with the weaknesses noted above, the staff provided excellent service in a very professional manner and we would stay here again. If you are hoping to catch mass close by, the Catholic church is a 3-5 minute walk and Sunday times were 8am, 10:30am and 7pm each Sunday (the times can change). We were in 304, it was small and very noisy, even with concrete walls between the rooms.

The hotel is modern and offers free internet which is great. The breakfast is good consisting of cereals, fresh and tinned fruit, juice, ham and cheese, fresh small bread rolls and sweet croissants. The location is quite close to the Metro (which is four stations from Termini and 7-8 from the Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain area). There are a couple of good restaurants and a few supermarkets close by. We found the room quite noisy as we could hear the conversations of the next door neighbours as well as all the plumbing noises from all the floors above (we were on the first floor). My daughter who has long hair needed to turn the shower off 4 times when washing to avoid the shower flooding over.

Nice place but I regretted the location. I was visiting as a tourist. The hotel is in a neighborhood that's more residential/commercial and less touristy. Usually it appeals to me to be "off the tourist track" but there is little charm in the neighborhood. While it's very close to the metro station, the metro doesn't really reach the historic center. So a lot of walking/buses are required just to get to the parts of Rome that you want to be in. Next time I might stay in Trastevere as a mix of Roman charm but off the beaten path. The hotel itself is new, tasteful and attractive. For our three night stay, the first night they put me and my husband in a room that was too small (they called the bed a "French queen" but I call it a US "full".) The room had a great terrace but the room was too small for two people: even the bathroom was compact with a small shower and no tub. They said it was the only room because we booked so last minute (on Venere). On the subsequent two nights they made it up to us by upgrading us a "superior" double which was ample in size and quite comfortable (also with bigger bathroom.. but no terrace). Wifi internet was available but only in certain rooms. Breakfast was ok, but hardly a highlight.

I am very thanful for all comments that i found here in Venere.com because they help me to find this convenient hotel. And i will recomend it to everyone who is going to visit Rome. I stay in the end of November just for two nights with my girlfriend. The location of the hotel is good - it's in very quiet street near to metro station 100m. From Termini it is a few stops with metro and not to close to main atractions but the area is much better than Termini. The room was on the fifth floor and as i said earlear on the quiet street.Double room was with modern furniture and bath, big bed and flat TV. The price for this period of year was 69 EUR and comparing to other prices is normal especially comparing price/quality. The breakfast was well enough - coffee, milk, salami, cheese etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. So I want to express mine gratitude to all the staff and to advise everyone not to hasitate about choosing this hotel.

We had a stay of only one night at Re di Roma but it was a very pleasurable experience. The rooms are immaculately clean, modern and quiet. We were very impressed. We would heartily recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Rome. Just one minor drawback is that it is a few metro stops away from the centre, and the area immediately surrounding the hotel is not outstanding. But just 10 minutes on the metro brings you to the areas that attract most tourists.

We thought the hotel was a good, clean 3-star hotel. It made an ideal base for a familly trip to Rome and we would certainly stay there again. Travel on the Metro was no problem except during the rush hour. However, the breakfast buffet was adequate rather than special and in the bedroom you could hear some noise from other rooms. I would rate the hotel as very good value but not extra special.

There is a nice common area and a small bar area with a computer for internet access. The rooms were modern and clean. The area around the hotel was ok. This hotel was great. The rooms were very modern (apparently the hotel only opened last October or so). The only negative thing I have to say is the room was a little small and there were no shelves in the room only cupboard space. Breakfast was good and there was a nice selection of food. The location is great and is central- there is a metro very close by on line A and is 2 or 3 stops away from Termini. Overall we really really enjoyed our stay in Re di Roma and would happily recommend this hotel as an affordable option in Rome that is central enough to the city center. One thing I wanted to mention is that we asked them for directions the night before checking out. When we checked out the next day they had printed up a map for us with the directions we needed!

The hotel was difficult to find because it doesn't have a sign out front other than a small logo on the door. The main entrance is messy looking with a dreary carpet and I was nervous about having reserved there for 5 nights. The young man at the desk was very friendly and helped to arrange parking for our car. The hotel assumed the parking fee for 1 night. We had a room with a large terrace with a table and 4 chairs. The room was clean and pleasant, however, they forgot to make up our room one day. They serve a good basic breakfast. The neighborhood has a lot of litter and graffiti. There are several apartment buildings around the hotel and the area seems to quiet down around 10 P.M. If you can overlook the neighborhood and want to be very near a metro station, this may be a good place for you.

This is one of the best city hotels we stayed at for our entire trip in Italy. The receptionists were really friendly and helpful with helping us get around providing suggestions on places of interests. The rooms were a surprise (didn't recall seeing pictures of them on the website), they look new, mod, and are very clean; really good value for money. Breakfast is fresh and good by continental breakfast standardss; I liked the selection of hams and salami. It's near the metro but you'll need to walk a bit for the buses.

Excellent hotel, great staff. If you want to go to a nice hotel, near the metro and the centre of the city and want to enjoy multilangual and friendly staff-service, Re di Roma is a nice choice.

All of the gentlemen working the desk were helpful and very friendly--ready to answer whatever we asked. The hotel is very close to the Metro and so provides easy access to all sights. Our last day, we had to leave early --before breakfast was served--but the desk clerk took us into the dining room and got us something to eat.

We loved Re di Roma. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, the decor and amenities were modern, and the space was ample for two people. The front desk staff was available 24/7 and, while they weren't brimming with travel advice or tourist tips, they were always courteous and helpful with any of our requests (bottled water, Internet use, wake-up call) We found the breakfast to be great: cute breakfast room, warm bread and croissants, meats, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, tea, and coffee. We missed breakfast the first day, b/c there was no alarm clock in the room, and we couldn't figure out how to call the front desk for a wake up call on the first night, but the second day, we really enjoyed the breakfast and wished we had it the first day. The common areas included a bar area with a computer for internet use, the breakfast room, and a sitting area. Our room had a comfortable king size bed (two twins that easily pushed together) with crisp white linens, a small desk and cupboard with a mini-fridge, safe, and rod for hanging clothes, a full-length mirror, flat panel tv with lots of channels (including a few in English), and a balcony with a bistro table and two chairs. Our bathroom had a decent-sized shower and tub, sink, toilet, bidet, and plenty of fluffy towels. The only weird thing about the bathroom was the lack of shower curtain/shower door. There was a half wall, but even by holding the shower handle in your hand, it was next to impossible not to spray water into the bathroom. The Re di Roma is not in the heart of the city, but it is literally a 2 minute walk to a Metro stop and 10 minute Metro ride to the main attractions (Metro stops at 10PM, so you would need a bus or taxi after that). Overall, we thought the Re di Roma was great. Spacious for a European hotel, clean, modern, and well worth the affordable price!

This hotel was very smart and clean, the hotel staff were very helpful and professional and couldnt do enough for you. It is situated right on the metro line so its easy to get around. The metro does close at around 9pm/10pm so if you plan to stay out late you need to get a taxi from the centre which worked out at about €13 - €15. The continental breakfasts were very good with a lot of food which were constantly being topped up once empty. The rooms are modern with comfortable firm beds and of a good size, they are lacking in drawer space but we just kept clothes in our cases and hung the rest up

The location is good-not in the heart of things but ony a two minute walk to the subway station and a commercial area. The hotel is in an area of apartments making it a more quite area to stay. The service was very friendly and helpful. There was always someone working who could speak English. The room was a fantastic surprise. The hotel is not much to look at from the outside, but the room was large, modern and clean. The bed was comfortable and we had no problem with noise. We had a balcony.(not all rooms do).The breakfast was very good for continental. The only negative would be the public areas. If you are looking for a lively bar/lobby, you won't find it here.We didn't miss it at all - there is so much to do in Rome.We would love to go back!

Our first ever hotel in Rome and Re Di Roma has set the standard very high. Obviously I can't make comparisons with equivalent options in Rome so I'll stick to the facts. The hotel is clean, very nicely appointed and our room was spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff were excellent. Breakfast is good. The location is a fairly typical city neighbourhood but the Metro is a very short walk away. Next time I go to Rome I''ll probably try somewhere different nearer to the centre. If it's not up to scratch then it'll be the Re Di Roma from then on!

The hotel was great. It is new pleasant and comfortable. The staff was wonderful. I have only two complaints: from our room we heard noises of running water and coughing from the bathroom of the next room (something in the isolation of the room was bad) and the breakfast can be improved. We had two good pizerrias nearby but a very bad italian restorant which was recommended by the hotel.

Booked this hotel on recommendations from previous travelers - and it completely lived up to expectations. The rooms are small but perfectly formed - stylish and comfortable. Having a balcony was a big bonus. The hotel is in a quiet residential area (about 3 stops on the Metro from Termini ) which means you get a good night sleep without the traffic noise. Restaurants in the area are a bit limited, but there are some local restaurants - No English menu - but one of the best (and cheapest) meals we've had in Italy!

We loved this hotel. The rooms were huge and clean. The only issue we had with this hotel was with the wireless internet. The signal was really weak in the room and went down while we were there. This wouldn't have been an issue but my wife was trying to do some work during our stay and this was frustrating for her. They did work hard to resolve the issue and ended up not charging us for the internet access so I would say they did everything they could to address the issue and all in all I would heartily recommend this hotel.

We had a fabulous stay at Rei di Roma and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Eugenio and his team were friendly and efficient, and very accommodating of all our wishes - even when we sat drinking in the bar til the small hours! The rooms are spotless and newly redecorated in excellent taste, with good pressure in the shower, a safe in the room, and a very comfortable bed. We were lucky enough to have a balcony too. The only slight downside (in the spirit of constructive criticism) was the breakfast. A bit of music in the dining room would work wonders, with fresh orange juice instead of concentrate and some of that tasty bread we had elsewhere in Rome. But back to the pluses, the hotel is well insulated and so very quiet considering how handy it is - it's right near the metro station so you can be at termini in 10 min and spanish steps in 20 min. It's also walking distance to the Colosseum, and all of the lovely restaurants and trattoria in that area. The staff gave us great recommendations on tours and places to eat, and were happy for us to leave our bags with them for a while on our last day. It's an easy choice!

The only thing to improve will be the breakfast room, it´s too small and there´s only one person serving and sometimes she can make it if it´s full. Excellent coffee if you order an expresso!! If I go to Rome again I´ll book it!!

I travelled with my girlfriend, and the hotel was a nice surprise. Near to the metro station and near to a "open till 1.30 am" italian restaurant with good prices and good food. If i come back to rome, Re di Roma would be my choice again.

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Re di Roma and we were completely satisfied with its services. Clean rooms with modern furniture, friendly staff, nice breakfast, reasonable price and the major sights are easily accessible by subway (the subway station is only a two-minute walk from the hotel).
