My wife and myself we love your hotel, which we have known for 30 Years. We do miss the old style ; the renovation was probably necessary and is well done. But please accept a note of nostalgy from the times we used to run over M. Craxi in the elevator...at a time when the design was less modern. Nevertheless, we shall return over and over again...

Absolutely first rate hotel. Perfect location, friendly staff, and high quality of rooms. Will stay there again. Only one small thing was annoying: The electronic mini-bar made it impossible to store own water, wine etc. Management should change their policy on this.

We loved the Piazza Navona area! The hotel connects to dozens of small streets surrounding Piazza Navona with dozens and dozens of small restaurants and shops. You can walk safely around at night with no problem. We walked to all the sites we visited, Pantheon (which is very close 5-10 min walk), Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Roman Forum and the Collosseum. We had a junior suite which was in excellent conditions. In case you don't want to bring your laptop along they have a public PC station with access to the internet (high-speed) you can use free of charge.

When in Rome...I will ALWAYS stay in this hotel! The most comfortable bed on this trip. The staff was amazing. No breakfast included, but could be purchased for €26.00/each which was very steep! Absolutely great local..1 block from Piazza Navona!

I booked a classic room, but we got an upgrade to one of the Richard-Meier Suites! Great, phantatstic! It was a qiet, big room with a wonderful bathroom in white marble. Very good breakfast buffet, friendly staff, and the Largo Febo is one of the best places to start trips to the centro storico! I'm sure that we will come back!

We had booked the hotel for three nights however the hotel called a couple of nights before we were to arrive and said they there was a problem as they were upgrading rooms and they were behind schedule therefore we could not stay in the hotel for the first two nights in Rome. They booked an alternative hotel where we were charged the same price, but that hotel was a poor quality compared to the Raphael. This was disaapointing considering we were on our honeymoon. The hotel did upgrade us to a suite for the same price and gave us a free meal on their roof top restaurant (fantastic view across rome at night). The location of the hotel in Rome is second to none.

Eventhough we reservated the hotel 5 months before arrival, we were contacted by the hotel one week before arrival with the message that we only could stay there 3 nights and not the 5 we reservated because of renovation... But since we were 8 people travelling together we could stay anyway after some discussion. But a Great hotel with the perfect location in Rome!!

We spent three nights/4 days in Rome at the beginning of our trip. My husband had never been abroad...I had been to Rome a few years previous to this trip and fell in love with the area around Piazza Navona. When I found this hotel, I knew it would be prefect for the both of us. The staff at the front desk was incredibly welcoming, and helpful in every possible way. The roof top terrace was a wonderful place (albeit a little pricey for drinks, but the food was amazing) to have cocktails and dinner. I can understand, however, why many people are discouraged as to why the room rate does not include a continental breakfast, as the majority of the other hotels do. Other than that, we do not have any complaints!! Say hello to Dario on the roof top!! Always the gentleman. Grazie!! Grazie!!

The Raphael exceeded our expectations. Upon mentioning we would be celebrating our anniversary while in Rome, we were given a room upgrade. The staff was nothing but friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel could not have been better, with wonderful antique shops and delightful, romantic restaurants just seconds away. We are already looking forward to our next visit to this magical place.

Expensive hotel in great location but prices are too high in relationship with what you get. Primarily you pay the hotel's good name and service, the really excellent location and one of the best roof-terraces in Rome. Especially standard rooms and bathrooms are very narrow. Separate billed breakfast for EUR 26/Person/day too expensive and does not pay out. Picasso plate collection is fantastic, but I can't see the benefit for the customer paying for it.

There were three minor problems in an otherwise excellent experience: mold on the wall over the shower, a rattle in the air conditioning unit, and no breakfast included in the price. Every other hotel we stayed at in Italy included continental breakfast, and the Raphael was the most expensive place we stayed.

We stayed at the Raphael twice during our trip to Italy, for the first four days of the trip then two days at the end. Although both rooms were small, they were both cozy, romantic and wonderfully furnished. The location is great, right off the Piazza Navona and close to everything. Althoguh the hotel is located in a very noisy area, we never heard any street noise inside the hotel. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to assist you ( special thanks to Yurien and Domenico)....susnet from the rooftop terrace is not to be missed. We would return to the Raphael in a heartbeat!

Right From the word Go we had a fantastic stay @ Hotel Raphael. Granted we did receive a an upgrade to a fantastic suite (Wedding Anniversary) but that said all the staff on the Front Desk and Rooftop Restaurant were more than helpful. Yes it's not a cheap hotel, but we never mind paying the money when you get the service that we did. Would definately stay again.

It's just lovely to arrive at an ivy-clad hotel right in town. The rooftop terrace is simply superb. It doesn't matter that the food is average and more expensive than in an equivalent restaurant round the corner. Rooms are truly quiet, if also really small, though there are 2 larger room categories. Pretty much the best hotel I've found in Rome so far.

Like someonelse said, we felt more like guest than client. Wonderful and warm welcome by a multilingual staff (not very common in Italy). Their french and english was perfect ! The dinner on the terrace was a dream, and when a friend arrived after dinner, he was graciously offered a glass of wine ! The location is great. Just next to the Navona square. The pleasure to be in the very center without the "pleasure" of the noise. Only one regret... our stay was too short ;-)

I reserved the two twin rooms on 5th and 6th on May, but the venere send the wrong reserevaion on 5th and 6th of MARCH! to the hotel and I had to owe the cancellation fee of big amounts of €480 (one night fee of two twin rooms)which have been withdrawn by credit card automatically. The venere com. have sent me wrong confirmation which I didn't bewere its mistake. I am very unhappy about it. I would never use the venere anymore if they do not pay me back a part of my cancellation fee. (I stayed Raphael hotel on May 5th and 6th as I planed by booking through other agency. I was in rush to book the rooms on 5th and 6th of May.)

I am a user of gyms and spa. During my stay for the last 3 days nobody clean the gym, since there were no towels and no glasses for water, and everything looked like the day before. It could be a lack of supervision on this details. It could also help to review the job performed by maids at the rooms.

I would certainly recommend the hotel, we got quite an interesting room with balcony and semi-views and it was nicely decorated and well kept. Bathrooms were excellent and had Bulgari soaps! We got one of the special rates which made it excellent value (for Rome hotels) - locations is brilliant. But I think some of the normal rates are a bit high. The staff recommended a restaurant which was spot on, best meal we had. If you are looking for a good location, smart hotel, without worries, then this hits the mark - if you get the discounted rates!

The hotel staff were very helpful and the location of the hotel was great. I think breakfast was a little overpriced and the room we had though well appointed probably needed some refurbishment with the wall paper, and was slighly on the small side. But other than that it was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely return to say there again.

This was a beautiful hotel, in an ideal location. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the bedroom was beautifully furnished and well - kept. The only quibble I would have is that when we arrived we were unable to check in and were left sitting for an hour and a half even though the room we were to occupy was vacant. Overall, a very comfortable hotel at a great price!

In my opinion Hotel Raphael is really a great place for a stay in rome. Its location is perfect for exploring this beautiful city. All the sights (Vatican city, fountain of trevi, spanish steps etc.) are in walking distance. The piazza navona and campo dei fiori(flowermarket),lots of restaurants 'al fresco' and beautiful medieval lanes are just around the corner, nevertheless Hotel Raphael offers a very qiet and peaceful place. We really liked the interior design of Hotel Raphael; the reception, the bar and the restaurant are of a simple and pure make, white walls, some paintings, indirect lighting and some antique furniture. Unfortunately the photographs on the web pages can't represent our positive point of view. The rooftop terrace offers a wonderful view over the city. The rooms of the hotel are very charming: handpainted wallpapers with warm colors, comfortable beds and a small but nice arranged bathroom. We spent a wonderful time in Rome and at Hotel Raphael in August and that's low season for Rome, in this way we really got a bargain at venere.com.
