We stayed here for a long weekend after searching high and low for an affordable yet nice hotel. We were not disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable, with an ensuite shower. The decor was bright and welcoming, and to hotel location (next door to the Vatican) was perfect for us. The breakfasts are typical italian breakfasts (coffee and pastries, with fruit juice available). The staff were courteous. As a point to note - the hotel is not suitable for the disabled, as while the space available is well used, it would not be accessible to the mobility-impaired. While there is a lift it is very small and would never fit a wheelchair.

I loved this hotel!Located in an upscale residential area a short stroll from the Vatican but far removed from the tourist madness. Many charming, small restaurants nearby.Public area design is delightful; rooms are (typically for Europe)on the small side but fresh and bright. My single room was small but had a beautiful private terrace and breakfast can be served there.Very agreeable and conscientious staff. Free computers.Fantastic value-for-money and definitely rates a third star.I will certainly stay at the Prati on future visits.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Close 10minute walk to the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angello, restaurants, and shopping. The room was a bit small, but sufficient.Friendly staff and wireless internet in the public areas (not in room). No food service in the hotel, but good services within 1 block. Definitely a possibility for the price-conscious. The bill was settled fairly (unlike other hotels). Again, the location is the hook

Rome probably has the tiniest single hotel rooms imagineable, so I was pleasantly surprised by the relatively spacious single at the Prati. Excellent value for the price. The location is ideal for visiting the Vatican museums. The staff were professional and helpful, arranging an early morning taxi to the airport etc. Only downside, no breakfast served but these are lots of spots nearby.

The hotel has been recently renovated and incorporates beautiful tile and the latest innovations. The rooms were not overly large but the size exceeded my expectations in Rome and met my wife's and my needs very well. Very nice staff and beautiful common areas. The hotel is located on a busy street but is very convenient to the Vatican and other sites in Rome.

Although a good area, the renovations meant that there was no breakfast. Not a problem, but very expensive for what it was. Would not stay again.

We enjoyed our stay, especially because the staff were so nice. We stayed five days including Christmas -- arrived at 9 pm Christmas Eve, warned them ahead, and they were all ready for us. Other people's comments are true -- but it didn't spoil things for us. Yes, the air conditioners are noisy -- but they can be turned off (and at 57 degrees an open window is all one needs). Yes the towels are weird, more like tea towels; we had our own. Yes the dining room was closed -- no breakfast -- but even on Christmas Day it's no problem to find cappuccino and pastry in a dozen places within a few blocks. Location is a GREAT advantage -- walk to the Vatican and the tram and the Metro. Yes, the room is small and the bathroom is teensy -- so how much time are you spending in the room? The TV got channels in four languages. The elevator is tiny, but fits two people and sure beats walking up four floors (I've done it, believe me). The clerk even advised us that a cab to the airport was about the same (40 euro) as a cab to the Termini and the airport shuttle train, with much less hassle. We also recommend La Isla Que Non C'e, little family restaurant in a basement two blocks away -- pricey, but family run and excellent quality. There's some street noise, but you feel like a Roman resident when you smell somebody's spaghetti sauce cooking.

breach of contract. upon arrival at the hotel we were informed that breakfast is no longer included at the prices quoted when we booked our hotel room. no information received at my email nor receive any letter. very inconvenient for us to have our breakfast outside the hotel and ended up spending too much for our very simple breakfast. bath towels, bath rugs were not available when we got in in our room. shower curtain was filthy and request to change was denied. vault inside our room was not working and when request to fix, the hotel attendant did not responded cause he was busy watching the sports game.customer service was very very poor. hotel attendants were inconsiderate, lazy and insulted us when we requested for a cab to bring us to the airport. lobby was very narrow and dirty, no decent restaurant for dining.the hotel owner was unfriendly and arrogant. our stay here at this hotel was very unpleasant and we were not happy. i won't ever recommend this hotel to all my relatives and friends.

This hotel is a small, wonderful hotel right in the center of it all - one can walk (and we did) to just about every attraction to be seen in Rome. If it's a bit further away, the subway is only a short walk away from the hotel and can take you anywhere you want to go cheaply! Recommend mostly for single travelers - not so much for family with children however. The rooms are small - but comfortable with private bathrooms and cable TV in every room.

I guess you get what you pay for. Overall it was ok. 3 things that didn't go right: We asked and paid for bed and breakfast but there was no breakfast. When it came to pay we got 40Euro off. Not enough I thought. Our 'double' bed wasn't. It was 2 singles stuck together with separate bedding. I asked for a double room but they just put double bedding instead. Guy next door snored and we could hear it! not good.

For a cheap stay, this hotel fits the bill. The gentleman on the door was welcoming and provided us with directions, recommendations for places to eat and maps. The location was terrific for the vatican area, and the pedestrianised old town area nearby, and it wasn't far from Trastevere, or hard to get to on the Metro. However, our room was ground floor, on the corner of two very busy roads, so the traffic was intensely loud. Also, for some ungodly reason some workers began metalwork and construction within the building right outside our room with hammers at 8AM! Completely unacceptable. We stayed here for one night only, and I feel, noise issues aside, we totally got our money's worth. However, I'm not sure I could have handled more than one night with the issues I've described above.

This is a great hotel for the budget travellers. The location is excellent, just a few blocks from the Vatican. There is a good restaurant nearby: "L'isola Que Non Che" with a friendly staff and a good food. The hotel staff speak good English, they are ready to help with any information regarding Rome. My next trip to Rome, I would like to stay at Hotel Prati again! Thanks for a good service!

When I arrived, the staff were not very friendly and did not offer to help with my suitcase. Seems like a small thing but first impressions count for me. The room only had a desk fan which was very loud and I'm pretty certain I asked for an airconditioned room. Breakfast was meant to be included but when I arrived I was told they do not offer breakfasts and was given a 5 euro disocunt. If I had know this in advance, I would have booked elsewhere as a simple breakfast in Rome costs more than 5 euros. Location was as stated, very close to the Vatican, but staying around the Colloseum area is better as there is more to see and do at night and during the day.
